    California Benedict (IG: @eatwithbaobae)

Some friends and I stopped in after running the Surf City Half and 5K, and the California Benedict I ordered hit the spot! Poached egg, bacon, avocado, tomato, hollandaise and basil pesto atop an English muffin, served with hash browns satisfied all of my cravings! Service was friendly, and they were able to seat us immediately!

The Brandt was such a great experience. The inside has an upscale beachy vibe with a beautiful view if you are near the window seating although much of the dining room has that view since they are second story. The cocktails were fabulous and had some unique twists that I really enjoyed. The lychee martini was amazing and i'm bummed it's only a drink of the month for them. The short ribs were super flavorful and served on a pineapple risotto that so unique and tasty. The french dip was also very good, always a nice classic and the halibut was a good dish but a little small on the fish serving. Our service was great and fairly quick. Would definitely come back for a date night, dinner with friends or celebration.

Beautiful spot with ocean (SUNSET!) views. Asparagus fries are probably not healthy, but they ARE GOOD. Chopped salad (LARGE) with filet (excellent). Finished with Smog City IPA and you have an excellent evening. Fantastic service; HIGHLY recommended!

So glad I stumbled upon this place! I asked ChatGPT for a nice sit down brunch place with an ocean view. Thank you ChatGPT! It delivered exactly what I was wanting The view here on the patio is just perfect. .. sometimes with such a great view .. the food is lackluster (I'm looking at you rooftop Laguna) Luckily this most the case here. The food was all good! Service is a bit sluggish, but honestly..enjoying the ocean breeze makes waiting for your food.. a breeze We had the breakfast sandwich. The burger.. and tuna tacos. No flaws . Nothing amazing , but I'll take solid good food over a hit and miss menu anytime Brunch doesn't have a lot of lighter fare options. So looking forward to. Dinner service ! We will definitely be back!

Came here based on a Yelper who said this is one of her fav restaurants and made reservations on New Years because I was jonesing for a good burger. Forgot I had been here before a year ago but never yelped them because I only stopped in for a drink. I didn't know this place has a view along PCH. You don't see it until you walk in further to the dining area. There are 3 tables that are against the windows where you can get a nice view of the sunset, and PCH. We ordered burger with shoestring fries, and he ordered the salmon that comes with garlic mash and Brussel sprouts but subbed it out for broccolini. Our server didn't tell us about the specials or anything really, but the next table that came in got a gentleman who was talky and we heard about the chef, the cuisine and specials, which might have swayed my man's order if he had known, to the pork chop. Oh well. Food came out good and we enjoyed our evening. We had to ask our server about validated parking. She was nice but not very helpful as far as servers go. I like me a good clam chowder but they serve it Manhattan style here, which I am not a fan of. The peachy drink we had was really good though. Aside from the burger I ordered I don't know how I'd feel about coming back. This place is really close to Watertable inside the Sheraton and in my estimation, that was a better experience with better menu selection than what I saw here.

First time and will definitely come back to try other things in their menu. Don't have a reservation and I was seated right away. Does have a cute view of PCH and the ambiance is a mix of American and Spanish. Meaning then have some cute tulip latent hanging in the dining room. The bacon wrapped dates is a must as well as the chicken.

The Brant is one of my favorite restaurants. The service is consistently great, the views are spectacular, and when you order right, the food is delicious. Out of all my visits, there have only been a couple of items I wouldn't recommend otherwise, it's a solid spot for both lunch and dinner. My go-to favorites are the pretzel board, the half chicken with mashed potatoes (sub broccolini), the burgers, and the Spicy Tuna Tartare Tacos. All are reliable and well executed. That said, the prime rib dip was mid, the salmon was overly fishy, and the Manhattan-style clam chowder was downright awful easily the most foul-smelling and worst-tasting soup I've ever had. Overall, if you order correctly, this place is amazing. They also offer vegetarian options, which makes it an easy choice for family dinners, especially since my dad is a vegetarian.

Excellent service and ambiance. Came in for a friend's birthday dinner cocktails were great, dinner was flavorful and good size portion. The appetizers were so yumm we had the Brussels and the spicy tuna tartare tacos delicious

We stopped in the Saturday after Thanksgiving with zero reservations and were seated right away, holiday miracle! Valet was only $10 and the valet guy was honestly one of the nicest humans ever. The restaurant is upstairs, so once you get up there you're greeted with gorgeous ocean views. Since it was an absolutely beautiful day, we sat outside and it was perfect. The menu has a little bit of everything, but we kept it light with salads... although we had to try their $10 cinnamon roll. It's small (maybe 4-5 bites), but wow, packed with cinnamon, warm, and homemade deliciousness. Totally worth the splurge. Naturally, I had a glass of Prosecco (because vacation mode), and our waitress was friendly, quick, and super on top of things. Service overall was fast and easy. Great little spot for an oceanview lunch- casual, breezy, and tasty. Would definitely go back!

I was looking for the restaurant bar which I can watch the baseball game (post season LA Dodgers game) near the hotel during my husband's business dinner. I didn't care alone but I cared safe and good wine place. Using Yelp and I could find this place very close my hotel. When I got here a little busy but I found the seat at the bar counter. The game already started so I was in a rush to have seat and order. Inside the bar counter there were two bartenders and both were friendly and nice. I ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio and Crispy Brusseis. Shortly both served and I could focus the game. The bartenders asked me nicely am I okay or need something during the commercial (didn't get any bothering for watching the game). Unfortunately, the game wasn't good for me but I had a good time at the bar counter.

Had such a lovely experience at the Brand this past Saturday. We walked in and were seated immediately in a covered patio facing the beach. Our server was very efficient. I didn't get his name, but he was a younger white male with a mullet. The food was absolutely delicious . The buffalo wings were so crispy and tasty. I didn't expect the wings to be covered in a dry rub but it was magical. I think I will order this all for myself next time. They were finger licking good! The artichoke hearts we're good, but felt a little bland after having the buffalo wings. They were served with a really delicious aïoli. The prime rib dip was also really good. It is served with a horseradish creamy sauce and hot au jus for dipping. The serving and fries is very generous. I was able to find street parking but you can also pay for valet if you want to.

    Andrew N.

My dad always wants to have brunch by the beach whenever I visit home, so we came here. It's located inside the Pacific City Plaza and it's pretty quiet during the brunch hours as we were able to snag a last minute reservation the day of. We also scored bonus points by sitting in the ocean view. Asparagus fries (5/5): It's not tempura, but more similar to the batter of fish and chips. I thought this was the perfect appetizer. Some healthy food although it was deep fried. The batter shield the asparagus to perfection as it provided a great crunch to the soft asparagus. Spicy Tuna tartare tacos (4/5): Comes with 2 pieces and each piece is placed on a scoop of guacamole. Although it tasted great, not worth the price finishing in one bite. Manhattan Seafood Style Chowder (3/5): do not expect this to be the chunky chowder. It tasted almost similar to a minestrone soup, but with more seafood. It was heart but nothing too special. Seared Ahi Salad (5/5): this was my first time ordering a salad in a while and I did not expect it to satisfy me. There was plenty of seared ahi and the salad was tangy and plentiful. Overall great place to eat for brunch if you want an ocean view.

    Laura S.

The Brant has a great view, good service and the menu has something for everyone's tastes. You get a less (over) crowded feel here than at some of the other restaurants in Pacific City. Make sure to ask for your parking to be validated. The chowder is Manhattan style and very thin. If you want something light, this will work. The veggie burger is satisfying, but I had to eat a lot of fries with it to feel full. (Is that like getting a diet soda with a burger & fries? Oh well).

The service was good but the execution of the dishes had a bit extra to be desired to make it standout within its category. I went here on Saturday with my partner, arriving a bit later than half past noon. There weren't many people too many people here yet and we were seated promptly. The service was good the entire time and didn't have any issues. The decor was very nice, I do enjoy the more green or plant aesthetic they had going with the plants on the ceiling. Although, I would like to see them differentiate themselves more as it's only just nice and not amazing or unique. We ordered the Dashi Pesto with Scallops and the Pork Jowl with lettuce cups. I found the Dashi Pesto with Scallops to be good. It was a bit overly salty to my taste, although my partner said it was fine. They did mention that the scallops were only seared on one side and not both sides though that wasn't something I noticed or missed. I do have some issues with a 30 dollar dish only having three scallops on top, four would've been acceptable. These issues for me brought the dish down overall, although still delicious. The Pork Jowl with lettuce cups I definitely enjoyed more. It was cooked very well with the meat being pretty tender. The ssamjang aioli was delicious and paired nicely with the entree. I could've used more lettuce cups but that's a personal preference as I'm more of a vegetable heavy person. I enjoyed this place a lot. It would've received my yelp 5 stars or my person score of 8/10 of it hit everything perfectly. My yelp score maxes out at my personal score of 8 out of 10. Very close to being a standout place for its category if it can fix up the execution.
