I was in town from LA for one night for work and my trunk latch broke. It completely fell apart and the car could not close for me to safely drive home. Thomas did an amazing job of finding all the pieces that had fallen into a "cavity" of the car (like not where the spare tire is) without needing to dismantle my whole car, and he somehow put it back together so it was very safe and secure again. Two other shops turned away my minor repair because they were too busy, but here on a Friday, they squeezed it in here and did a great job! First time at this shop, brought my wife's wrangler because it's a piece of shit Chrysler, 2020 with 60k miles. Oil cooler leaking, 2 coil packs not working, spark plugs fouled, and valve cover gaskets leaking as well as the plastic radiator cap leaking. I was sold what I needed at a fair price. Shop stayed in communication, was given an estimate which was the price I ended up paying. They showed me all the old parts including gaskets. Are they the cheapest around? No, but if you want quality work you have to pay for it. I'm pissed at Chrysler and will never buy another one but the shop I will go back to again and I don't say that lightly. Installed brakes and rotors on my Chevy Silverado. I just recently had them replace my shocks with the BILSTEIN B8 5100 Ride Height Adjustable shocks in the front to accommodate my 2.5 level kit the front. and 5100 BILSTEIN shocks with a 1"inch block in the rear. My car blew its head gasket a while back and I tried calling several other mechanics in the area for quotes. Other mechanics couldn't take the job, said I would have to wait a couple of weeks before they would accept my car, and also charged me $3k+. Called Bloch & Shelton and they allowed me to bring my car in the same day, quoted me and worked it down to $1.6k, replaced other parts that were going out, and overall did a fantastic job on my car. The mechanics actually care about your car and its health rather than making money off of you. I was financially unstable at the time I went to them and not only did they give me a discount on the head gasket job, but also changed a bunch of parts, cut prices down to the point where labor wasn't included, and made sure that my car was safe for the road. The mechanics here are very caring and I had a great experience! Replaced about 12 gaskets and parts in total that were going out and showed me all the work they did to my car. Overall was a great experience, everyone working there is understanding and is there to help you. The only negative part of this review is that the mechanic, for the most part, is not low-car friendly; the driveway into the mechanic kinda sucks which has made me not come back. If my car wasn't lowered, I would definitely be coming back though! read more

Beware - shady practices. I had brought cars here in the past, but I am so shocked by the unprofessionalism that I will no longer return. Vehicle: 2007 BMW 328i The issue: During my commute to work I had drove through a flooded section of the freeway going a good 60 mph. On the way back I noticed a squeaking/scratching noise. I looked under the car and didn't see any visible damage. I decided to drop off the car at Bloch & Shelton garage around 10am. The drop off: I was told there would be no charge for the diagnostic fee, and that they would get the car up on the rack by 2pm. Additionally, I asked them to diagnose why my rear door did not open. The process: Never received a call so I decided to call and was told they got behind but by 3pm they would give me an update - I said sure. I never got a call back nor I got the car back that day. Finally the NEXT day at 11am I received a call by the owner stating it was urgent. The owner asked what exactly I hit because my front struts were "severely" damaged and got a quote of $700. I stated I only had $500 on hand, so the owner said he would run some numbers and see what he could do. Got a call back and now he said for now to fix the damaged side for $400. I declined the repair. The pickup: I walked in the door and was told it had been fixed. Owner now said it was some trim that got loose, which was causing the noise (this was the reason why I took in the car). Appears that they tried to exaggerate the issue and upsell me a $700 service that I did not need. Then I got CHARGED a $90 diagnostic fee although originally I was told it was free. Also, my door issue did not get looked. I have now been driving the BMW for 2 weeks with no issues. I will not return to this money hungry shop. Future clients BEWARE of this shop. read more

When I had a 2000 Jeep Wrangler Sport, my radiator died in 2008. I bought a replacement from a manufacturer in Riverside. Since I wanted the removal and replacement of the radiator done right, I asked the manufacturer to recommend a local shop. Without hesitation the vendor blurted "Bloch & Shelton Garage. Emil at the shop will take care of you." Upon arriving at the shop, I did a visual inspection before contacting Emil. It was good seeing such a clean and well organized garage. Then I met with Emil and asked him to R&R my radiator. He took the time to explain, in detail, what was required, how long it would take, and the approximate cost. Of course I tossed a bunch of questions at him, considering this was not my "first rodeo." Due to my background in auto and aircraft mechanics, and based on his response to my fifth degree of questioning, I let him handle the work on "Eugene." (That's the name of my Jeep; Eugene the Jeep circa Popeye the sailor cartoons). The work was completed in the time frame and cost quoted me. Then Emil gave me a complete run down of the actual work done to Eugene; complete with returning to me all of the parts replaced. I was so happy with the workmanship, I let him and Ryan perform some cosmetic work on Eugene. They installed a 4" Rubicon lift kit, swapped out fenders, and replaced the bumpers. Emil & Ryan went through the same process of explaining the way they performed the work on Eugene. They did a few a little extras to ensure that my lift did not become problematic at a later time. Now that's customer service. I was so pleased with the way they took care of Eugene, that I explicitly use their garage to maintain Eugene. In addition, I had my family bring their vehicles to this garage for servicing and major mechanical repair work. When anyone asks me for a garage referral, I am quick to blurt out "Bloch & Shelton Garage." A number of my coworkers, based on my referral, have become loyal patrons of the shop. In 2014, I purchased a new Jeep Wrangler JK Rubicon (Her name is "Ruby"). When It came time for some cosmetic work, I brought Ruby to this shop for a complete makeover. Emil & Ryan took their time and "Pimped my Ride!" They did a great job and Ryan took care of me with some extra beautification work. This was the first time taking my Mazda in to a shop, but my Mercedes was in the shop practically every other month so I've seen my fair share. I was told several years ago that I don't have a cabin filter so I never bothered to change it ... guess what!? I have TWO! And they were foul. I used to smoke in my car and these filters went through that phase . These mechanics took great care of my car for very fair prices. They were fast and communicated with me through the whole process. Definitely a trustworthy spot to bring your car. I brought in my 2011 BMW 328i with a fuel pump issue that was fairly urgent. This car is my baby, it's very important to me, and I usually do the work on it myself as a result. I have been burnt by BMW of Riverside, and dealerships as a whole overcharge like crazy for mechanical work, ESPECIALLY on European cars. These guys won't screw you, and didn't even come close to attempting any upsells while I was there, even when I asked them if I needed anything else. Got a quote from BMW for the repair, and to get done what they did for $640 after tax, BMW quoted me $852.53 before tax. Emil immediately let me know that they were heavily booked on the Friday I called, and it was late in the day, so he made it clear for me from the get-go that my car would be worked on Monday. This was nice, as it gave me the option to look elsewhere if I needed the car that day. Luckily I didn't, and I knew not to let go of a mechanic that would be that honest so easily. I was able, by God's own grace, to get my car to their garage and they didn't charge to diagnose, they didn't charge to hold it for the weekend, and I had a quote for the pre-tax price that Friday before work started. I verified that the price was a reasonable market price by checking online, and it was very reasonable. Emil kept things honest and straightforward, and let me know what was going on, what I needed replaced, and showed it to me when I picked the car up. I knew what was going on every step of the way, and was comfortable at home knowing the car was in good hands. She runs great now, and Emil didn't try to upsell me, even when I expressly asked if there was anything else the car needed while it was there. I took my 2018 Challenger Hellcat Widebody to the shop to get some Lowering Springs Installed. From Start to finish the guys were extremely professional. Ryan personally accepted 100% care of the vehicle, communicated with me daily, send me update pictures, measurements etc. The car would not fit on their alignment machine considering how low it was so Ryan offered to take it down the Street to another 5 Star Rated Alignment Shop 3 times on 3 different days after I had to order Extra Parts to properly fix the Alignment. Also understanding the value of this car they parked in their Shop every night it was there.
