I love the idea of a food hall that incorporates many different types of food-a little something for everyone! Block Party 2700 does a good job of providing a diverse menu of options with plenty of seating and parking outside. They make dining easy-especially for groups who may not all want the same thing. I've tried food from most of the vendors here, and reviewed each of them independently. This review is for the facility itself. It's bright and open, which is nice. But it could have a little more "umph" in the ambience category to bump it from a 4 to a 5 star experience. Maybe a live DJ, music performers, open mic, a library of games, etc. Something that makes you want to hang a little longer. Wow this place is cool! I've never even heard of it until today and I don't know why. I love these "food courts outside of the malls". In fact, the only other one I know about is Hallpass. It's not overly decorated inside, but there is plenty of seating, and it's extremely clean. There is a Acai/smoothie place, cold cut sandwiches, BBQ, and tacos. I only had the Acai this time around, but I will most definetly be back to try the rest of the restaurants read more

What a difference a few weeks make. Coming back because the first time here was so awesome.....this time it wasn't. Red flags go up when there isn't anyone in the food hall other than employees and their family/friends. After looking in the food display at Grandato's I turned to my daughter and said do you want to go somewhere else. She said "I'm starving I haven't eaten all day, let's just eat here." Against my better judgement I ordered the penne pasta with marinara sauce (which comes with a couple meatballs) because their pizza looked old and cold, with cheese that wasn't melted, and cherry tomatoes as the topping. (And the fly that was flying around in the case didn't help.) My pasta came to $15.15 I asked if they could break a $100 they said "No, No one pays with cash anymore." I ended up paying with my debit card and asked for a receipt and the young teen said "Our receipt machine isn't working" oh boy. After the payment transaction I looked up to see the guy who took my order putting pasta in a small plastic bowl, and then added the three meatballs, but to my horror was when he then sprinkled the Kraft fake canned Parmesan cheese. STOP not that. You didn't say there would be cheese, and if you do add it as a topper did you ask if I wanted cheese. No you didn't. Come on Granatos you are know for your plethora of different kinds of cheeses, why are you serving this cheap junk? When I was handed my pasta, I was again shocked at how small the bowl was. The pasta and sauce was barely warm. I ended up throwing the rest away after I took a couple bites. I walked over to Elephant Press to get some gelato but no one was there to help me. It was just as well as their smallest cup (kid size) was $3.00, barely enough space for a large scoop of gelato. Let's just say... Let me start by saying I was very excited about this new food hall that just opened near my home in June 2022. I like the concept, love having new food choices in the area, and was happy to see Granato's return to the same spot. However, when I actually went inside it was lacking that certain x-factor. It looked like they had emptied out Granato's and added a couple of food places on the side. Not really a "block party" kind of atmosphere, too much empty space, no music, nothing interesting to catch your eye. Granted it was a Wednesday afternoon, so there weren't many people in there. But, the energy was blah. I still had hope that the food would wow me. First on the right, the Elephant Press Cafe. Their focus is coffee but the baked goods from Fillings and Emulsions are what catch your attention. I've never seen a croissant that big! One of the rare patrons in the place said he had just eaten a giant almond croissant and thoroughly enjoyed it. They also sell house-made gelato, but don't expect a colorful display of flavors to tempt you. They are hidden under stainless steel in a little cart off to the side (hardly noticeable). Next stop, Santo's Tacos. I've been to the restaurant in Rose Park and gave it a fair review, so was eager to try it again. I love a good fish taco (see my review for Spedelli's on 33rd South... WOW!) I ordered a few choices to go. These fish tacos were okay, but nothing to knock your socks off. The zucchini and corn tacos had about one kernel of corn per taco and lots of mushy zucchini. The shrimp taco at least had a bit more flavor. But, the real disappointment was the $3 side of beans. I figured it would be a nice addition. It was approximately 1/2 cup of refried beans on a piece of waxed paper inside a cardboard box. They did not seem homemade and were not easy to eat since they stuck to the paper; quite a disappointment. They do have a nice salsa and condiment bar that you serve yourself, however the lack of hygiene in these germy times didn't seem quite appropriate. I checked out Over the Cole's Barbeque, and although friendly they had nothing plant-based on the menu. A vegetarian option would be a nice addition. Last but not least, was Granato's Deli, still located in the back of the space, which seemed nostalgic. They now have a lot of pizza choices out front (not sure how fresh they were). Of course they still have an extensive sandwich menu as well, like the good ole days. But, the prices are nothing like I remember, most sandwiches cost about $11 and a slice of pizza is $8. Not quite a cheap-eats kind of experience and not a high-end gourmet meal either. Granato's does have a few item for sale in the freezers up front and there is one shelf of bread, but both were oddly practically empty. I really want the Block Party 2700 to succeed! The location is great, the concept is modern, the food has potential. But, they need to up their game a bit, maybe add some more food offerings, have merchandise for sale, get some interior design or feng shui advice. I'll be pulling for them to eventually live up to their name. read more

I've now has 3 meals here in 1 week!! The açaí place was amazing, tacos so tasty and tonight we experienced the most heavenly "croffles" a mix between a waffle and croissant!!! Seriously- you will not be disappointed! Go support locals and enjoy the pride in ownership YANA has to offer! read more

Where do I begin? Flies flying around everywhere Our bbq was Cold. Horrible. We got pizza after to make up for it and it was extremely soggy and not fresh. They warm up the pizza sitting out. I was SO EXCITED to see not just one, but many food options come to this seemingly forgotten strip of businesses in the neighborhood. A walkable spot that has coffee, tacos, pizza, AND bbq? Yes please. This is so desperately needed in our area and I hope everyone around realizes it's here just tucked behind the car wash. Granato's is of course always delicious, and we loved the smoked mac n cheese from Over the Coles. Would LOVE to see them add some vegetarian bbq options, I'd be in there every day for some tempeh brisket. Get a churro from Santo Taco -- and next time I'll be trying the potato flautas! The cafe section offers pastries from Fillings and Emulsions, and having walking distance access to Cuban-made pastries is *chefs kiss* The only thing holding it back from being five stars is our neighborhood leaning in and supporting this wonderful spot. We tried three places and the BBQ place was the only possible revisit. The pizza was soggy, the cheese was hard, and that type of artisan pizza should be cooked fresh to order vs reheat(think Blaze). Doesn't take too long. If they wanted reheat slices they need to adopt more of a NY slices type theme. The taco shop had the salsas all spilling into each other and the quality of meat/seasoning used made it no different than your drive through burrito shop (rancheritos & betos). Was hoping for higher quality from both of those places. The brisket and pulled pork on the other hand were very good and if independent of the other two score a 4*. The concept makes you think you are getting something like hall pass downtown which has been a success IMO. The problem is that it stops at concept and feels very high school cafeteria like vs unique dining experience. I'm not writing this place off cause this could be a one off experience and I'm hopeful that they can evolve & improve. read more
