We had a terrible experience just getting an estimate. Dropped the car off on Monday at 8:00 when they opened. They took our information and said they'd be in touch. I call mid-morning on Wednesday and leave a message asking for an update. Received a call back from Angie late in the afternoon indicating that they had just finished the estimate for two cars and ours "was next". Didn't hear anything Thursday or Friday. I called mid-morning on Monday - they've now had my car for 5 business days - and was told the estimate would be completed that day and I should hear from them later that day or Tuesday morning. At this point, I'm starting to wonder why it's taking so long and if this is a place I want to get my car repaired when they can't even tell me accurately when they'll do an ESTIMATE. I call Tuesday afternoon, spoke to Angie again and asked for an update. She explains that they should have the report done on Wednesday and that they only have one estimator that week. I tell her that she's told me that it would be done today when I called the prior day and at this point tell her to put the keys in the center console and we'll bring it somewhere else. Go get the car using our spare key--no key in the center console. Looked everywhere for it. You know where it was? Wrapped in tinfoil sitting on the front seat masquerading as garbage. Never had any auto shop "hide" a key this way. We almost threw it out. Were they sending some kind of message? I don't know. Did they have any intention of getting me an estimate that day? I don't know. But if its this much of a pain to get an estimate, I can only imagine the excuses when it comes to actually fixing the car. read more

I'm not a pleasant customer. I question everything, I act like the car is my child, I demand to know every line item. So when my 3-month old Subaru Outback was hit in the UVM medical center garage I was sure there was no one who could restore her. I was wrong. Blondin Bros said gave me an estimate in less than an hour, patiently went over every question I had (and there were a lot). They told me it would take 9 days to complete the work and it took 5 days. They gave it back to me in pristine condition, even the floor mats had been washed. But more than that - they showed me pictures of the work being done, explained every step, asked me my opinion. I think it's pretty clear I'm a woman, and they treated me better than any body shop ever had. I usually get people, even female mechanics, talking down to me as if I don't know about cars, but I do. Blondin Bros either recognized that immediately, or just treats everyone with dignity and respect. I suspect the latter is true. They really are the best, and I would trust them with any car I own, even my "firstborn" muscle car. read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! Believe me this place works for your insurance company, not you. I hit a pothole that broke the front strut of my BMW and also damaged the ball joint. The strut breaking caused secondary damage to the spring and tire, and even caused the airbag light to come on. Had my company mechanic and Automaster look at it first before letting Geico take it to Blondin Brothers after they assured me they'd cover everything and I'd have my car back in 72 hours. According to Automaster and my own mechanic, the bare minimum that should be repaired/replaced after accident like this is the strut, spring, bumper pad, and tire. And very likely the ball joint and control arm. And diagnostics should have been run to find out why the airbag light came on. Blondin Bros did NOTHING! First, Blondin Brothers told my insurance company the only thing the car needed was a strut, despite the other obvious damage that two other mechanics easily found, so insurance company refused to pay for the rest of the damage. (I have a picture of the spring sticking INTO the tire after the accident AND BLONDIN BROTHERS TOLD ME AND INSURANCE COMPANY THAT THIS WAS "HARMLESS"!!!!). They also documented for the insurance company every single little scratch and scuff on the entire vehicle (except they listed the areas only generally), so the insurance company can devalue my car if there is a future accident and say everything was pre-existing. I couldn't even find some of the "scuffs" they were talking about, so I think they made it up. Then they claimed they couldn't finish the repairs the insurance company was paying for without replacing thousands of dollars in other stuff that was "naturally worn" and that wasn't covered by insurance. Of course, they were happy to write me an estimate for the additional work. Nice try. Lastly, according to Geico this was supposed to be an "express" service with a 72 hour turnaround. IT TOOK SIX DAYS TO GET MY CAR BACK and, as I mentioned, almost no repairs were made. Blondin Bros. even made me wait an extra day (causing me to incur another day of rental car charges) to get the car back because they said it had to be "cleaned up" before I could have it back. WTF does that even mean? In the end, the insurance company paid for nothing and the entire accident came out of my pocket because of Blondin Brothers wouldn't do the work and I had to take it to the dealership. THESE GUYS ARE STRAIGHT CROOKS and obviously conspire with the insurance companies to avoid doing necessary repairs that SHOULD be covered by your insurance. UPDATE (2/28/14): I took my car to Automaster to attempt to have an alignment done and got the shocking news that my passenger side front strut was leaking. I said this can't be, it was just replaced by Blondin Brothers last week. Automaster informed me that there were no new struts on my car. The strut that was supposed to have been newly installed had obvious corrosion on it and it was leaking. They assured me it was not and could not be new. So, what possible explanation for this is there? Perhaps Blondin Brothers got a bad part by mistake? Even so, they would have to be completely incompetent to not notice the "new" strut right out of the box had corrosion on it and leaked after the installation... This leaves only two choices: EITHER THEY'RE CROOKS AND SELL USED PARTS AS NEW, OR THEY CAN'T TELL THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A NEW STRUT AND A USED ONE. read more

I cannot say enough about the service and kindness at Blondin Brothers. Just as they were about to close, my check engine light came on as I was traveling through the area. I did a quick Google on my phone and found these guys. What a lucky break! The woman who answered the phone was the epitome of kindness. I immediately brought my car in and my car was immediately serviced. They ran the codes, found the problem (which was safe for me to continue on to my final destination with), and insisted on not charging me! I went back in and again reiterated my gratitude and they insisted that I just have a safe trip. What service!! Just to give you a contrast with the real world, I took my car to Firestone the next day where they found the same problems, but charged me over $100 to run the codes. BEST BEST BEST service. My experience with Blondin Brothers was amazing. I would give six stars if I could! Bob and Justin saw my car and then very promptly emailed me an initial estimate for two substantial dents/scratches in my car (two separate claims). While I was gone on vacation, Blondin Brothers went out of their way to work with my insurance adjuster on both claims, which I was so thankful for. In the course of only a couple of days, the work was done, and I came back to a brand-new looking car. They also vacuumed and washed my car, which was an unexpected and classy touch. Bob and Justin were very knowledgeable and run a great, efficient shop. The office manager and receptionist (not sure what her official title is), Angie, is a gem. She was very helpful and nice, responded to all of my emails quickly, and even arranged for one of the employees to give me a (free) ride to the airport when I first left my car at their shop. Because she is so familiar with Vermont auto laws, she saved me on the deductibles for both claims (over $1,000!). She also called my insurance agency to clear up some other deductible red tape, which was incredibly helpful. Angie was even kind enough to arrange for my car to be left in the airport parking lot when the work was completed (again, no charge), so that it would be at the airport when I arrived and I wouldn't have to take a cab to their shop in Williston. From start to finish, I was blown away by their level of customer service. Thank you Bob, Justin, Angie, and the rest of Blondin Brothers for a job very well done. I brought my mothers vehicle there last week. The battery was replaced and the heater knob would only turn to the high position. They replaced the battery with an interstate battery, and the heater was repaired at a great price. They also gave me a review of the condition of the breaks tires and fluid levels. What a great body shop! My car went in with body damage and came out looking better than ever!! It was also explained to me that my new paint has a lifetime warranty, as long as I own the vehicle my paint is covered from any sort of defect (peeling, color fading etc.).
