This is upsetting because I was super excited to get my hair cut. I wanted something different and finally worked up the courage do it. Booked online through their website to get a cut for a 9 am appointment. I got to the place at 852 am and received a call stating that the girl that was supposed to do my hair was out sick. Mind you I live 35 minutes from this place and made sure to get there on time. They girl I spoke to offered to do my hair in-between her client who was a cut and color and it would be about a 30 minute wait. I agreed. After waiting 20 minutes she calls me back and says it turns out she will not have time to do my hair. :( All that time wasted. Very disappointed and a really bad first impression. Such a great experience at Bloom, and a relief to have found a great salon to come back to over and over! Savannah was my stylist for a new haircut and she did a fabulous job! She was so sweet and made sure I was happy with the final result. I appreciate a stylist who is willing to engage with clients and make them feel comfortable. My daughter received a haircut from Josie and was super happy with her new style. Josie was also super kind and was so sweet while cutting my 12yr old daughter's hair who is super quiet and shy. The salon overall is very clean and trendy looking. There is a lot of open space that makes it seem more comfortable than a very crowded salon. Everyone there is super nice and happy to help. Absolutely awful experience. I was a returning customer in to see Rachel. I have very long thick hair (see before pic to reference) and always just get a trim/cut with some thinning. I got a complete hack job. The underneath was shredded with thinning shears. Left with inability to wear my hair up at all due to the thinned pieces poking out. More than 70% of my hair was thinned out and now I'm left with unmanageable hair, a year or more of growth to even wear my hair up in a messy bun, or just chopping it off incredibly short. Beyond pissed! I did not get a refund or my tip back! I didn't realize the damage done until I left the salon because the top layer of hair covered the underneath. When I called, incredibly upset, all that was offered was a consultation to help style or products. Still sick to my stomach about the entire ordeal. Wish I could give it a zero! I had the worst experience ever, I went in with about 2-3 in of regrowth wanting bleach and toner for an icy blonde. My app was 10am and I left there around 5pm with super damaged hair because they didn't know what they were doing didn't apply foils and rinsed me after about 40 minutes leaving my hair orange and just trying to tone it over and over to accomplish my kind of blonde I wanted. Ended up getting bleached again and still my hair was yellowish so the best solution after that was to apply dark ashy color so at least it wouldn't look so bad. Yes my hair is naturally black but it was all natural no reason why it shouldn't have lifted to the level I needed for my icy blonde if she would have applied the bleach correctly from the beginning. read more

I had an appointment with Grace at Bloom Salon on 67th. I took pictures and a list of what I wanted. The cut was bad and I asked her to fix it the next day. The second time she cut it I ended up with hair looking like a helmet with poofs on the side resembling dog ears. I was told the manager was off for 4 days, and to see a senior stylist. I went back a third time. The senior stylist tried to preserve length especially in front and correct the cut, but the hair had already been cut off and the damage done. I definitely didn't get what I wanted. I came in with medium length straight smooth hair and now it is chin length in front. It's the shortest I have ever had, it's frizzy and I'm struggling with styling. It will take months before I will look like myself. This was the worst salon experience I have had in decades. It has been over a week, and I have not received a call from the manager. I also did not realize they were hiring apprentices out of cosmetology school. As a manager myself in a difficult business, I have never ever seen worse customer service in my life. This last weekend I received a haircut which turned out good except for when I went to pay is where the issue arrises. I had a Groupon to use for my haircut and the Salon refused to take it. They stated that it was to be used for my first time. (This was my second time at the salon). I explained to the front desk gal that I had the Groupon the first time I came but I felt bad paying with the Groupon because I didn't have Cash to tip the person, so instead I paid for the haircut full price and was able to tip on my credit card. I asked to speak to the manager who was no help AT ALL. He told me the same thing he would take take the Groupon Nor give me any type of credit. As a manager myself I know that it is I that can make any kind of "Computer Overrides" that would need to be done to satisfy the customer. However this "Manager" Refused to make any kind accommodations. The only advise for me he had was to contact Groupon myself and ask for my money back. Even after I told the "Manager" I am sick and pregnant I don't have the time to sit and argue with you nor do I have the time to argue with Groupon for my silly $15 back! Needless to say I paid for the full haircut price and walked out. Today I called to talk to the store owner, and guess what?!? I was baffled that the "Manager" I spoke with the day of my haircut was the STORE OWNER, who is also a hair dresser at the salon. Owning a small business I would never want a customer leaving my office with an ill taste in my mouth. Groupon not being applicable on any haircuts except first appointment or not the manager should have given me the $15 credit towards the $40 hair cut I received! read more

If you are looking at getting extensions even at a 25% discount beware! I initially went in for two consultations and asked numerous questions and thought I was choosing a reputable company and stylist that was experienced and knew what they were doing. My experience was far from that. From the ordering of my hair, which I ordered the most expensive best kind ( ordered in a bleach blonde not matching at all) to the toning which still didn't flow/match with my natural hair whatsoever, to the install which was extremely poor, to the stylist chopping off and completely wrecking the expensive extensions that I paid for. I proceeded to make three different trips back to the salon to try and get it fixed and not having the experience clearly that couldn't be done. Instead my extensions were falling out 2 1/2 weeks after they were installed. Not to add an owner whom should be completely ashamed of himself for not listening to a client and trying to make things right but rather telling me that if I came back again they were just gonna take the extensions out and I would be out the money. I wouldn't step foot in the salon again! I they don't even use the correct beads when installing these extensions which should be silicone-based. So extremely sad! read more

As we all know now, being on lockdown can make you a little stir crazy and wanting to make changes, even to your hair! I was wanting to do something fun and completely out of the box for me, and Aundi, once again did an amazing job changing my hair color!! She was excited to do something different as well since she colors blondes all the time (which she's a chemical genius!) Once the color was on my hair I got a little scared but after the blow dry and a few curls... OMG!!! I LOVED IT!!! It's so beautiful and soft to the touch too!! I've been seeing Nicole ever since I purchased a Groupon last year. This was about my 4th or 5th visit getting some highlights as I've been wanting to go lighter due to grays. Initially the price was on point; not to high but not cheap either and given that I wasn't all that satisfied. Today however, I paid $150 for retouching color just on top and some foils! When it comes to what I'm looking for, I try my best to explain what I'm going for and even show her pictures and ask for suggestions. She's always been honest and upfront with the looks I want and I love how she either tells me it's going to work or it'll be difficult based on my hair type. I love that about her! I had been looking for a salon to do my hair before school starts for weeks and one reason that it was so difficult is because I am very selective about who does my hair. As time went on my options became more limited so I ended up getting an appointment at bloom and I requested Aundi Shotts because I had read great reviews and her work on Instagram seemed pretty good. She seemed to have quite a bit of experience with blondes so I felt that my hair would be in good hands. This appointment slot opened up last minute for 5:15 (they closed at 8) which concerned me a bit because every time I've done my roots it has taken minimum 3-4 hours but usually it can take up to 7. When I first sat down I feel that she didn't take the time to understand the history of my hair (how it lightens or reacts) and what color I wanted specifically, everything was very vague. I mentioned that I wanted a bright champagne blonde that wasn't very white or platinum but also not super ashy and grey. A nice neutral creamy blonde and I had pictures but I had shown them after she already mixed up some bleach so perhaps we got our signals crossed. I have been blonde for over a year and a half so I have gotten pretty acquainted with the procedure of lightening and toning my roots. Immediately as she put on the bleach I felt anxious because she globed it on and got very close to my roots if not actually on them. She did not wait for very long before she went back in with the bleach and really got into my scalp. Then she washed my hair and placed the toner on my roots but did not leave it on for too long. Since she didn't leave the bleach on for long enough my hair had a dark yellow tone to it and this needed serious toner and color correction. She mentioned that there was a band that had gotten lighter than my roots (this band is a very crucial and annoying part of this experience) and she seemed to be very bothered by it. She then brought her coworker to look at my hair and they mentioned that the roots could use some toner (there was a lot of hair jargon that I couldn't understand throughout the entire appointment). I looked at my hair in my phone camera at this point and saw how yellow my hair was so when she came back with some toner I mentioned to her that it was more yellow than I would likely to be. She said that she understood and proceeded with a dark blue toner throughout all of my hair (not just my roots which actually needed it) and washed it out super quick. We came back to the chair and the color was not looking great. For the rest of the appointment she cut my hair which was fine (not the best hair cut but definitely not the worst) and began the blow dry. I had seen the horrible color job but at this point I didn't care because sometimes things happen and I can fix it up at home with purple shampoo. I really was going to move on but from the moment I sat in the chair after washing everything out she spent the entire time trying to justify her mistake. "The lighting is making it more yellow", "it's actually the same color as the ends, the purple band in the middle just throws you off", "your hair is very dark so it lightens to a very warm yellow". She kept going without stopping and I would like to mention that I have NEVER left the salon with yellow roots even when I went from almost black hair (with dark hair dye in it) to blonde in one day. This appointment felt as if she was rushing and I felt anxious about almost every move she made. She got my appointment done in 2 hours including the hair cut and I truly believe that is way too quick for a blonde retouch especially considering how long my roots were (in picture below). I am giving 2 stars because the salon was clean and the people were nice and they were fairly good with COVID regulations (only complaint is that the receptionist didn't wear a mask while walking throughout the salon). I would not recommend this stylist at this salon, she was a very nice girl but while my hair was being ruined I kept having to tell her it was okay because she kept complaining about the bands. She didn't make small talk except for continuously mentioning what she was doing in a way that I couldn't understand (kept saying things like we're going to use a 7 or an 8 and go in with a 25 or 30 developer as if I'd know what that means) Towards the end she kept mentioning "when you stay with the same person it'll look more even" and "next time you come.." and I think that after making my hair look like this she shouldn't have kept pushing me. Will not be coming back here and if you are a blonde I don't recommend you go with Aundi Shotts for the sake of your hair. I definitely have some short roots hairs (burnt off) which I have not had in a long time and cannot wait to wash away her horrible color job and get this fixed at another salon. read more

100% satisfied customer! Margie was absolutely fantastic. It was my first cut with her; for the first 10 minutes she started by asking if I had any pictures, what exactly I wanted, and talked through my styling routine. I discussed cutting off 2-3 inches and she took the time to really make sure that was what I wanted before cutting. She was very kind, knowledgeable, and took her time to make sure I got what I wanted. When I mentioned I was going out later, she offered to curl my hair and it felt as if she didn't mind at all doing a little extra (fyi, I was her very last appointment on a Saturday, and she could have very easily never said anything and been done). I have been dying my hair for 15 years and never been more disappointed after a visit to a salon. I purchased a groupon for $73.50 that included a partial color/ highlights and scheduled my appointment for a few days later. I spoke with a salon representative to schedule my appointment, during the confirmation phone call and received email and text message confirmations not once in any of these was it mentioned that the "highlights" only included the price of the bleach not any toner that may be used. When I arrive I was treated by a friendly smiling stylist Jason who told me he would be doing my hair. We got settled at his station and I showed him a photo of what I wanted. Very natural/ minimal high looking high and low lights painted through the length of the top layer of my hair. He informed me of the charge for toner and that he would be doing a balayage on my hair and then began. He ended up bleaching the entire bottom of my hair all the way through leaving me with a disgusting brassy wanna be ombré and charging me an additional $60 over the $73.50 I had already paid stating that he "had to remix the color for me twice and really should be charging me much more." The first image below is a photo of my hair before I went to Bloom last Wednesday, the second is the photo I showed Jason for reference of what I wanted done, the third is my hair today- the final result. I cannot put into words how frustrated and completely distraught I am with what was done to my hair. I do would not recommend this salon to anyone, they get one star because I can't give zero UPDATE: I was invited back to the salon to have my hair fixed, it is much better. It was my first time coming here and I LOVED IT I usually got my hair cut at places much cheaper so I was worried about the pricing for this place but honestly it was SO worth it. The customer service is just as amazing as their skills. I had Jason for my stylist and he was so nice and gave me so much advice on hair care, and he was just a joy to talk to. Got my hair done today after spontaneously checking out this salon next to my regular nail salon. So glad I decided to check it out cuz I found the most perfect stylist named Jason and he did incredible on my hair! He was professional and thorough and made sure he got my hair exactly how I wanted from the highlights down to the way he curled it. He didn't make my hair super ashy which I find a lot of stylists do when they use toner cuz my hair absorbs it. He mixed 2 toners that still kept my hair bright and blonde like I want. This salon is also surprisingly affordable for how nice and modern it looks I surely thought it would cost a lot more for services.
