I got a women's haircut with Savannah - she was lovely! The spa was very clean and used Aveda products which I love! She included a scalp massage, hair wash, and cut for the $55 base haircut price. However, I found it odd that they charge an extra $10 to blow dry your hair plus an additional $10 to style. I think blow drying should always be included for a haircut because every haircut I've had they always make adjustments/final touches after drying my hair - it's really hard to see the final results with wet hair. read more

I am the queen of bad haircuts. I usually walk out feeling poorly about the service I received. I usually go year's between cuts because I hate the experience. I went in on Saturday for an appointment with Savanah because I needed a trim. She did a good job despite me being nervous because I could tell she was new to the craft. I have long hair and she cut to my desired length, and took her time with my cut. I didn't feel like she was going faster than her ability to try and get me out of the chair for her next appointment. Some constructive feedback would be to work on face framing evenness, and apply product during the process (like heat protection before blow drying). This is my first yelp review ever. I usually don't waste my time. I just wanted her to know she did a good job and to keep at it girl. read more

On my actual visit staff was nice and so was my stylist. Salon was clean and I liked that they made you hand sanitize and enforced a mask for everyone there. I went in for a trim to cut off dry ends and to redo my layers. This was my first time at this salon and first haircut since pandemic started. The visit took an hour and throughout it I felt like there was not much of a change in my hairstyle. At the end of it, it did not feel any fresher. I did not want to make the stylist feel bad so I didn't say anything. When I got home my partner noticed one side of my hair was uneven. I called the next morning and asked to speak to the manager who initially I was told was available. Chelsea came on the phone who I thought was the manager who said that I could come back in and get it cut again by same stylist or pay 20 dollars more for another stylist who charged more. I told her I did not want to come back to the original stylist as I felt the cut had not been done correctly the first time and did not want her to cut my hair again. It seemed ridiculous to pay more money to have someone else cut my hair when it was not cut properly the first time. She said she would speak to the manager about a different resolution. I told her I thought she was the manager which she was not. She said she would call me back. She left a voicemail stating the resolution they offered was a cut for next week, 5 days later with the original stylist and someone else watching. I called asking for the manager again and she was not available and I spoke with Katie who offered the same solution for next Tuesday and told me she would let the manager know I did not want to take their offer. I told her I did not think the resolution was appropriate and asked that the manager please call me back which would be the following day. Updated review: I did speak to the manager Luanne the following day, who although initially sounded annoyed when she asked me what I would like them to do as a solution, seemed open to listen to my concerns once I told her I had already scheduled an appointment with another salon. She offered me a refund which was nice and she at least listened to what I had to say. Overall it would have been nice if things were handled by the manager when I requested to speak to the manager the first time and not have this back and forth conversation with staff via the manager, before the manager actually spoke to me directly. It doesn't seem like they thought it was important enough to be handled this way to begin with and I think a 5 day turn around to fix a haircut does not seem appropriate. I would recommend for anyone looking at this salon to make sure you get a recommendation for a stylist and be aware that they all have different prices which is not stated on website. Hopefully your experience is better. read more

My appointment was at 10:45 am. I am over 65 and have had my hair done over 40 years. I went in to have highlights around my face. I was told she knew what she was doing. She proceeded to do several foils and it seemed good. I went in as a light blonde. When Savannah took the foils off, she washed my hair and then proceeded to add toner she said. She added some sort of toner and as she began to rinse I could see something was wrong and the horror in her face. She called another stylist and then the owner. I asked for a mirror that she gave me reluctantly and I was so I shocked to see my entire hair was a bright orange. When I spoke with one of the two owners, she looks at me and says people come in here to get thst color. I was stunned and well I didn't want that color, how dare she. Then she said not to worry because they were going to fix it. Then two color specialists came to see my hair and went back to discuss what happened and how to fix it. They felt the only solution was to bleach my entire head, which they did. I was then told they were going to put a toner again and after 15 min rinsed and went to blow dry. I saw my hair and immediately I knew something was wrong again. It was 7 pm, was there all day and they turned my hair mousy grey.. one of the owners then said it was pretty took her hat off and said look I'm grey. I looked at her and said I did not come her to be have my hair orange and now grey wasting an entire day. Around my face colors were uneven and my left side was dark grey and my right was a light grey. Again the owner came and said to this on a few more bleach foils around the front t of my hair. 15 minutes later I was taken back to rinse again and washed my hair barely dried it and proceeded to escort me to the front to check out. Picture this they were closing and my hair was dripping wet gave me a free shampoo and conditioner and they went back. Was not charged. Could not even towel dry my hair nor inspected. As to throw me out. The front person said thank you. I was quiet and polite the entire day. I left for home and dried my hair. To my horror my hair was just bleached out with no color but a super bright yellow with light orange and the back wax a horrible grey. I took pictures of every step. I took my curly headed daughter to her too because it was so great and she also got a fabulous cut. I had my hair colored for the first time ever in my life here as well...I'm almost 40 and the grays are happening. My color didn't come out at all as expected but Jessica actually called me personally the next day, set up an appointment to get it fixed as soon as possible with Zero charge and I loved the results!!! This salon is probably the best salon I've ever been to! Such an amazing staff! They are so friendly, welcoming, and might I mention... so talented! I've had a few different hair stylist here and all have been nothing but the best, but my favorite is definitely Carly! I can't not say how much I enjoyed my time in the chair with her and her talent. My hair was struggling so badly with being dead from bleach, but she revived it and it's back to life! Talented, NICE, and friendly staff. Not sure how someone could ever get "overcharged" as stated in another review. When you make your payment, you have the opportunity to review the amount, so unless you are just made of money and do not listen or look at the amount being charged, the staff ring you up for the services you had and then you can review the order with them and pay. This is my second review because after a few times visiting Secrets Hair Salon from another state, it is so obvious that these people LOVE their work! Also, it is my understanding that they have been in business for a very long time; so, I was shocked to read that someone posted scathing reviews about some of the staff and owner. I would say: "if you believe you were overcharged, then that was your own mistake since you paid the tab." However, I seriously doubt an overcharge occurred. Maybe an "over-sight," but that does not warrant nasty, slanderous reviews. read more

Don't make an appointment here. There is no staff to do your highlights or color. I was going here and spent probably over $1000 by now In 3 visits. So I was repeat customer then my stylist out due to having baby and the stylist they assigned me was not experienced but I thought I would stick it out until my stylist came back. But now after waiting almost 6 weeks for appointment I get a call that the replacement stylist is out and they cannot keep my Saturday appointment! Can't get me in until May! Horrible service, unreliable staff, obviously bad management! Go somewhere else. They could have scheduled me somewhere but chose not to! Don't waste your time here you may end up in my situation. Lacking customer service. I went there a few times and really liked the stylists. I told some friends about the experiences I had and referred them to Secrets. A family member bought a gift certificate for me to this salon. A few years passed because I generally don't like getting anything done to my hair, but this is the only place I would have gone if I had chosen to get my hair done. Then the pandemic started and I did not go to places that were not completely necessary. My gift certificate expired and only by a couple of months. Now that my hair has grown and the bottoms are in need of a serious trim, I called a few weeks back and explained that the certificate was expired but I was hoping I could use it in anyway. They said no even with the pandemic having happened. It was my fault that I didn't use it, but it shocks me at this point when a gift certificate expires at all; however, businesses should be accepting expired certificates when they expired during the pandemic. The certificate was paid for and now I can't use it, but the $50 that was spent cost them my business and the business of the friends to whom I recommended to the salon. The stylists are great, but the management's lack of customer service is too lacking for me to go back. read more

What an amazing hair salon! I went in and had Carly do my hair. She was so considerate when asking what I wanted done to my hair and did exactly what I asked. She made sure I was comfortable the entire time. I have long hair that is easily knotted whenever I get my hair done, but Carly made sure to treat my head with respect. I love coming to Secrets Hair Salon where I followed Heather the Esthetician there that I have been seeing for 10 years for my eyebrow waxing and shaping . I have very sensitive Skin and she has the magic touch there is soft music playing in a spa like room it is very relaxing I could almost fall asleep . I don't trust anyone else with my brows . She takes the time to trim and tweeze the residual hair leftover (& it doesn't hurt )very detail oriented! She is consistent they always turn out balanced & Even ! The Price is worth every penny !! She is very professional and knowledgeable when I ask her advice on skin care concerns. I have taken her recommendations on products and love the results . The "complimentary Hand treatments" are to die for it is always a part of the facial that I love so much ! The staff at this salon is outstanding when booking appointments. I've had adult acne for several years and no one could help me keep it under control. I have been seeing Heather over the past few years for monthly treatments and I have not had an ache outbreak in over 2 years!!! I will not trust anyone else to my skin care but Heather. She is amazing! She takes the time to understand your skin care regimen and previous skin care history and matches your treatments to meet your facial needs. I called to get a hair cut for the same day, unfortunately there were no availability. It's okay.. so I made an appointment the next day, also a hair color consultation. So I went the next day, I just showed up like 5 min early because the girl they made an appointment with me had a hair color before me... appointment was at 3:15 didn't get seen until 3:45. The hair stylist asked me if we are just doing a hair cut or a haircut and blowout. I said, "cut and blowout and color consultation?" Wasn't sure why she didn't know. Figured cause she had seen a lot of ppl. So we talked and I told her how I wanted my hair. She's like, "okay I got you!" She cut it, but she didn't cut it to how I wanted it. She cut it longer than how I wanted it and the layers weren't how I wanted it. So I'm like meh whatever.. I got over it then and there. And so I was ready to talk to her about the color I was looking into getting done, she was like, "okay girl, all done! Your hair looks so nice!" So I'm sitting there confused and thinking to myself okay? I guess I won't get a color consultation. She walked me to the receptionist and she went back to the bad of the salon. Felt like I was being rushed out. Also, I know they use Aveda product, never used those products before and when I left a few min later, my head wouldn't stop itching! It was bugging me so bad! So i showered again with my own hair products and it went away. Not that it's their fault, I'd just would like to make sure the staff is aware that some customers, not all, may have sensitive scalp and to stay cautious. I wouldn't be going back. I can tell right away this place has a lot of regulars but personally I didn't feel comfortable there. It was nice but I had to wait, even though I had an appointment. I didn't get the hair cut I wanted, not the length. Nor the consultation for my hair to get colored. And I felt as if I was getting rushed out. The receptionist was super nice though. read more

I am VERY picky when it comes to choosing a stylist. And since this place was right down the road, I decided to give them a shot and honestly I'm not going anywhere else. The entire salon is personable and knows you by name, and there are no hard up-sells on hair products, which is refreshing. The scalp massage is a great way to relax you into your new "do." And it's just a good atmosphere. Personally, I highly (HIGHLY) recommend Jessica. Not only is she personable and remembers every little detail about you, but she takes her time and gives you the cut and style you're looking for. And she's patient with her customers...
