    gel mani
    Sanjna S.

Been here twice for a regular pedicure and manicure - both services are good. Nothing exemplary but decent. Regular mani/pedi combo is $35 and gel mani is $35. There is no cash discount. They accept reservations which is great because I've never had to wait here long to get started. The instruments they use are properly sterilized and sinks have disposable covers they change. Service is friendly, nice and helpful. Ambiance is ok (small space) but of course the convenience of the location on Washington St is superior. I would definitely recommend to anyone in the area that needs a quick basic mani/pedi. At this time they perform temperature checks, sign in for contact tracing and no fans for drying to eliminate any circulation of pathogens. Overall this is a nice, clean salon.

Ask for Gel-X removal and finished with clear polish. Gel isn't even fully removed and my nails are showing major trauma.

Literally the worst manicure I've had in my life. I went to have my Gel-X tips removed. The manicurist and what I assume to be the owner were going back and forth on which method she should use to take them off which was red flag number one. She then spent an hour using a normal nail file to file the gel off of my nails (soaked them for maybe 5 mins). I walked away with essentially bruised nails.. I'm in so much pain and will now have to wait weeks for my nails to gain strength back. She didn't even remove the gel completely as you can see in the photo. Not sure if I should go to another salon to see what they can do but my nails have never been in such bad shape. So sad because I can't seem to find a decent salon in the 3 years I've been living in Hoboken.

I've been scorned time and time again by nail salons until about a year ago, I walked into bloom spa and been in happy bliss since! Not only are they the cleanest nail salon in Hoboken, the nail techs are so nice and always make sure you're the happiest with your nails. Been a solid regular there with my fiancé and it's cute how they ask about him when I go solo. They always have brand new cute colors, they are gentle with their techniques and my nails have never been healthier. 10/10!

    French pedicure

so many things wrong with this photo. the worst pedicure I've ever had. I had the polish taken off as this is the craziest looking French pedicure I've ever seen. They did not understand why I was upset and made me feel like I was trying to get a free service rather than admitting they didn't know what they were doing. Will not be returning.

I've been coming to Bloom for years and really like the manicurists here. Just got a gel mani and regular pedi from June today (Friday) for $65 and it was beautiful and low stress. I get nervous when people touch my feet and she didn't cut my nails too short. Nice even filing! Overall lovely experience, convenient location near PATH, clean restroom and great polish selection. Sign up for their membership--after a few visits you'll get $10 off your next service!

I've been to Bloom Spa countless times, hopeful for for a different result and better experience than my last, and every time I'm disappointed. The head staff is rude and abrasive, they are inconsiderate of people who actually make appointments and just tell every walk in yes, they tell you mid appointment they can't fix your broken nail (after taking your previous manicure off entirely) complain about the tip provided, and even chased after me in the street once because THEY charged ME a lesser amount than the service costed which should never be considered at fault of the customer (by 5 dollars). Not to mention, the result of my nails was absolutely horrific. All 10 of my nails were different shapes. I wouldn't recommend this business to anyone who takes pride in their nails. PS- I wouldn't post such an egregious review if I hadn't had multiple experiences as negative as the above, but this is quite the sample size.

Extremely disappointed in my gel manicure. Not giving one star because I've only been once and would hate to assume the whole business is as bad as the product I received. I got a gel manicure Friday evening and by Monday it was chipping and peeling off. So after paying $35, I had to go get two nails redone 3 days later they were so bad, and then the rest started coming off so I needed a full manicure done again within one week. In addition, my cuticles were cut without being soaked, so it was extremely painful. With so many nail salons in Hoboken, this place isn't worth your money.

This is the best pedicure spot in Hoboken. The chairs are great and they give you a hot stone rub.

Firstly, because I didn't want the…read moreyoung lady who waxed me to get in trouble, and secondly, because I never want to leave a review when emotions are high, especially for a small business. I'm cautious because I understand how crucial reviews are. However, the more I pondered on this experience, the more disappointed I became after the initial pain and hurt subsided. My first visit to Uni Wax last September was amazing. It was my inaugural wax experience, and the technician, with over 10 years of experience, was not only a pro but also made me feel comfortable since she knew it was my first time. During this appointment, I waxed my legs, bikini area, and underarms. It wasn't as painful as I anticipated. The two stars I'm giving are solely because she was amazing. Then, in February, I visited the Hoboken location. I didn't select or research the technicians; I assumed they'd all be as amazing as my first experience. I booked a bikini and underarm wax. Upon arrival, the greeting wasn't overly warm, but I didn't mind, understanding that people have bad days. However, I distinctly remember being struck by the absence of smiles. When asked who I booked with, I replied that I booked with anyone. A young girl then took me to the back. She seemed very nervous. She began with my underarms, and it was evident she didn't quite know what she was doing -- very timid movements. Trying to make small talk, I asked her how long she'd been there. She replied less than a month, and I was surprised, asking where she was before. She had just graduated from school. I then inquired how many clients she had seen, to which she replied I was her second customer. I considered leaving immediately, especially when I found the underarm waxing more painful than I anticipated. However, I understood that people need experience to grow. That was a mistake. When we reached the bikini area, I experienced the most excruciating pain I've ever felt since giving birth. It was so intense; I felt like I was going to pass out. It was incredibly traumatic, and I believe the technician was traumatized as well. She had no idea what she was doing, and I'm sure the other technicians heard my cries. What bothered me the most was that the team knew she lacked experience and still assigned her to take care of a customer. I don't blame her; I blame the team for not adequately training her. Even if they didn't know it was only my second time waxing, why assign an untrained technician to perform a bikini wax? I left, smiling through the pain, paid, tipped, and went home. To make matters worse, I ended up with the largest ingrown hair I've ever had near the entrance of my genital area. I couldn't sit down properly for a week; it was the size of a flipping cherry. That's why I know those few weeks were not a good time to write a review. My advice: train your new team members better.

In the same spots. I don't know how i refrained from not going off. I came there less than two weeks ago and the hair is already growing back , it itches so bad , i have ingrown and bumps. I really hope she did not damage my skin because my next option is to see a physician in regard to the trauma she caused. Idk why she has good reviews she's not good. I usually had Angelica but she doesn't work there anymore and she was amazing. If anyone knows where Angelica located to please let me know. I'll drive over an hour just to have her back.

When I first started coming here, I was genuinely impressed by Yuly's attention to detail and creativity. I loved her designs and even suggested that she expand her chrome and specialty color options which she did. For the past two years, I have come in every month and have almost always gotten a chrome manicure. Over time, however, the experience has declined. Lately, many of the chrome powders have been out of stock and have not been restocked. There are also frequently basic polish colors missing, and I have sometimes had the impression that similar, but not identical, were used in place of the ones selected from the display. While this was frustrating, it was not enough to make me stop coming. Today changed that. I came in for my birthday nails (which was a simple color + chrome combo) and was told that the chrome powder I wanted was not only out of stock (not surprising) but also could not be done because I had not selected a specific add-on in the new booking system. This was surprising because I booked the appointment the same way I always have for chrome manicures. To make matters worse, there is no standalone chrome powder option in Yuly's booking portal, so it was not at all clear that I was supposed to select something different. What was most disappointing was the way the situation was handled. I would have expected that after two years of monthly appointments, and as a customer who is consistently punctual and tips well, there would have been some grace, or at the very least a kind explanation of how to book correctly in a system that seems to change frequently. Instead, I was made to feel as though adding chrome had always been some special favor, rather than a service I was paying extra for. If I am paying an additional $20+ for a chrome finish that takes only a few extra minutes I should not be gaslit as if I am asking for something extravagant and unreasonable. Loyal customers should be treated with more care, professionalism, and courtesy.
