I love stopping at Casa de Fruta as a midstop on a trip to refuel, stretch, and relax. I really…read morelike that their upkeep has gotten a lot better recently, and they have more stores open now where you can shop, get snacks, and buy fresh food. They finally closed down their old restrooms and upgraded to a large style restroom building that can accommodate multiple people at once. In the men's restroom, there are multiple stalls and urinals available now, which is a huge improvement compared to what they used to have with that small, tiny restroom by the parking area. The service was good overall. There are a lot of younger employees working there, and while most of them were very enthusiastic, the some just seemed like they were just there, but I have no real complaints about the experience. I would definitely recommend coming to visit and relax here during your road trip since there is a little something for everyone to enjoy.

Casa De Fruta is a staple of this area. I grew up in Hollister, and apparently I went here often,…read morebut this was my first time that I have an actual memory of. We loved checking out the property and exploring the several different buildings they offer, filled with goodies of all kinds. While many of the buildings have overlapping items for sale, each building has its speciality. A deli, a candy, coffee, and ice creamery, and a market. We also had a blast riding their train, carousel, and playing on the playground. I felt that many experiences here were affordable, while some of the products for sale were a bit more expensive. Overall, a good value. You can spend as little or as much as you want to here. All of the workers we encountered were friendly, and we had a great time at Casa de Fruta overall. It's certainly worth a visit if you're in the area, but I probably would not recommend driving hours to come here. It's no Disneyland, but still a very cool spot!

The staff have always been friendly, and that has made shopping here feel special. I'm truly disappointed and sad to hear that market is closing. I've came here on two different occasions. Yesterday and 1 week ago…read more First, the açaí bowl I got last Sunday was completely wrong. I ordered their tropical blue crush bowl. They did not have any blue chia pudding because no one made it that morning, they didn't have any mango chutney, AND they didn't even add granola in my bowl like the description stated. Highly disappointing. Second, I got their tropical smoothie (don't remember exact name) which has orange juice, passion, and other fruits I can't remember plus a swirl of coconut cream lined on the cup... The drink was not aesthetically pleasing. Didn't see a coconut cream swirled. The drink tasted just like straight orange juice only but blended with ice. I always go to New Leaf in Capitola on 41st Avenue whenever I visit and they've never messed up on my orders (except for once when they didn't have mango chutney either). But the drinks they've made for me and the açaí bowls were yummy and good looking. The workers at the juice/coffee/açaí bar here just seemed very lazy and I've been here 5+ times.

I brought a blanket from Costco that is basically a bag and has a strap. It was fine to bring in and perfect to set along the grass inside Gilroy Gardens. It was my first time at this festival and you get star struck on everything garlic. There was a garlic beer can but it didnt taste anything like garlic. For the food options, the best thing on your menu you can get is the tri tip fries. Its pretty tasty and yes theres garlic in it. My favorite part was the free garlic ice cream and meeting the local vendors selling garlic condiments. At the souvenir shop, I bought a Jalapeño and Habenero garlic olive oil. It doesnt taste like anything.

This was my personal experience: * We had to wait on a long line to get in and we were searched as if we were going into the pentagon! * Once we were in we were in disbelief at how small the event was! * All the vendors lacked garlic items for sale which was a big disappointment as it's supposed to be a GARLIC festival! We only found 3 vendors with garlic items. Everything was ridiculously expensive and not worth the money! Overall experience was pure disappointment and waste of our time and money! I do not recommend this event!
