Maureen came to the house, developed a plan of attack, and then we began working together once a week on a different area. Because we've been in this house for a long time, items were mixed among different rooms. So, we set aside an unused bedroom for staging and sorting as we worked our way through. To avoid the "you threw out my stuff" syndrome, We texted grown kids with pictures of some of their things to find out whether or not they had any interest in keeping them. We even set aside a separate pile so my husband could salvage treasures before we hauled everything away. We worked together, sorting and packing keepsakes while we also made other useful items more readily accessible. This project brought me a sense of peace and control, something that was sorely lacking before.

The owner, a delightful lady who is a fourth or fifth generation proprietor, will gladly tell you about the history of her shop and about all her merchandise.
