I went here recently to resize a bracelet/anklet. The links on this piece are particularly thick and oddly shaped, I was told before that after adjustment the piece may not stay on in the same way (instead of laying flat it may tilt to the side due to adjustment). However, Jordan did an amazing job and managed to keep the piece staying on the body in the same orientation as before adjustment. The work was done VERY quickly and I cannot even tell the piece was adjusted at all (except the fact that the size now fits). A real 5 start experience. On another note, while I was waiting for my piece to be resized, I was able to look around the store and saw a large selection of fine jewelry and watches, this is a spot I will definitely keep at the top of my list should the need arise for a purchase of such items. read more

Love this place! I went in looking for a piece of jewelry to buy to remember my grandmother by. I ran across a diamond cross pendant that was absolutely radiant! The brilliance of the diamonds were impeccable. However, I wanted the cross sideways on a necklace. They were able to solder the cross on a chain and now I wear it every day. It's my favorite piece of jewelry! I also come in periodically for them to clean my necklace, for free. They have a specialized diamond blaster that cleans out all the dirt and dust and makes my necklace look like-new. Very intimidating place to walk into, I felt like a criminal walking in and everyone stopped and looked up at me, including a giant cop, and they asked how they could help me, no greeting, very skeptical of my presence, no smiles, just poker faces. I walked in looking nice (dressed well) and with a smile, calmly, wth? In the end a really nice man gave me a fast, if stern, quote. I get it, they have diamonds everywhere, and I'm sure bad people try to pawn their stolen stuff here. But this is not a place I felt comfortable in, so if you are ok feeling awkward and uneasy, this location is fine, in comparison to many other jewellers mind you. I saw another person walk in who was looked upon with the same suspicion, which made me feel better. If the glass is half full, at least they are alert and have great security. I give this rating based on my overall experience, not that they did anything wrong, but the likelihood of my friends/family appreciating a visit are slim. Originally, I walked in to the Houston Gold Exchange at Katy in February 2012 to get one of my mother's rings appraised. I knew I was getting married in May 2012 but my fiance and I hadn't really taken the time to look for a ring. While I was there, the most beautiful ring got my attention. 1ct weight, two rows of small diamonds on the outside, one row of larger diamonds on the inside, set in rose gold...which is my favorite type of gold. I had to get it!!!! (my fiance at the time was so glad he didn't have to go all over with me looking for a ring...MEN) Long story short, the small diamonds kept falling out but luckily, the ring was 100% guaranteed and Scott and the folks at the store kept replacing them. Fast forward to April 2013. I wasn't even married one year and I was going for my fourth visit to have ANOTHER diamond replaced. At this point I wanted to see if they'd buy the ring back, as you can imagine, it was extremely frustrating. Instead, they offered to send it back to the manufacturer and have them remake the ENTIRE ring...free of charge to me. I accepted the offer and got the ring back the week before my one year anniversary, they even let me borrow a small replacement band while my ring was being remade. Let me tell you, my ring is even more sparkly and beautiful then before and whatever they did, even raised the original price of the ring. These folks know what they're doing and stand behind their products. I'm one happy customer and I'll continue to go back to them for future purchases. Update: 2016 now...still happy...no more issues with the ring! Oh, and still happily married!!! :-) read more

The first and last time I will have my jewelry fixed in this place. I give them 0 star, if theres an option. I had them reset my diamond earring on a platinum. I was so disappointed with how thin and short the platinum, it is like a baby's earring. None of my earrings were like this, even the inexpensive earrings I have looked more expensive than the pair i had from them, and I was charged $285 just for the very thin platinum, and it is like a tin can. The staff hadnt even returned my original white gold setting if i had not asked for it. And the other staff said he'll just give me $15 for thats how they would cost. In general, Scott (the owner) is arrogant and VERY, VERY dismissive...and without actually talking to me about the watch, very eager to get out of warranty work on my watch. I purchased a Lady's Presidential Gold Rolex from him and had to bring it back for repairs to be done under warranty. In a very short manner, he asked "have you done a COA on it?". What's that I ask. As if I should know this, curtly he replies "Cleaned, oiled, adjusted." I told him that another store (where I'd bought a ring) out of courtesy cleaned my watch and reset the time. "Oh, well, I think your warranty is void". What, why?!? He said "Because we don't trust other stores to open our watches... We'll look at it". I had to clarify that they just set the time and cleaned the band; Reiner's didn't open it. Dismissively again, "Well look at it". It was a struggle just to ask when I could expect it to be ready to pick up. I'm doubting that I'll get a satisfactory result. But they have my watch, so I'm hoping. If their treatment of me improves, I'll update this review. And by the way, of course the reasons for voiding my warranty was never mentioned upon purchase of the Rolex. read more

One of the best and nicest places I've ever been to. Everyone is extremely nice and welcoming. They will give you as much as they can to match the value of your items. Definitely way more than a pawn shop or any other gold exchange place. It doesn't have to be in perfect condition like others try to claim, it just has to be worth buying and he has to have a market for it. You can also tell many people here don't know that they can't give you 100% of the items value because he still has to make a profit or these places wouldn't exist. Common sense. It's very clean and they are very professional. They aren't going to chase you around and make you feel uncomfortable. You can shop in peace but still feel welcomed to ask questions.
