I went today for a regular mani pedi. This has been my go to salon in Carteret for decades. I visited today after some time. Saw the sign that hot steam is included with every pedicure. For whatever reason, that wasn't the case with mine. Otherwise the manicure pedicure was great. After doing some browsing online, I decided to bring my mom here for a Mother's Day pedicure. I saw they had a Mother's Day Special where they would get the spa treatment and gel polish for $40. Location/Interior: Ehhh.. it's a little rough on the outside right next to a gas station with very little parking. Walking inside it is very small and tight, they have about only 4 waiting chairs. Although it's small it looked very well kept and clean. Service: We waited for about 10/15 min, my mom got called up to the pedicure chair first and I had to wait an additional 10 min for the next chair to open up. I knew it would be busy due to the holiday weekend. CONS: My only issue is they charged $40 for a basic pedicure with gel polish. She didn't scrub the bottom of my feet or do the "basic" stuff I'm used to getting at nail salons back home. She basically just cut shaped and changed my polish. I was disappointed with that. I felt like that was definitely overpriced. My mom was also indifferent with her spa pedicure all it was was an additional lotion rub. Overall, it was okay nothing amazing. Pedicure is $60 they do not even clean them and pant them good. Gave them my first try and never again.

The only place i go for my manicure and pedicure and waxing. They have weekly specials for a manicure and pedicure Monday thru Thursday 9am till about 3ish. The owner is very sweet knows her customers well the other staff members are nice and have been there for awhile. Its time for a mini makeover again but overall its a nice place. FYI they have a new sign up that says pay your tips in cash.. read more

DO NOT GO TO MAY. I have come here a few times. I've been serviced by May 3 times. The first time I ask for one color on 4 nails and an accent color on my ring finger. She painted them all the same color and tells me there is nothing she can do about it. The second time she did a beautiful job no complaints. Today was my third time and she filed into my finger extremely hard and made it bleed. I then tried to ask for something like a cotton swap or maybe some bacitracin and she puts alcohol or "antibiotics" on it and I literally screamed because the cut was so deep!! On top of it all my pinky on my left hand is super long and my thumbs were shaped horribly. I really love this place but now going forward I'm asking for anyone else BESIDES May. read more

I have been to this location two times before. The first time was great, the second time was a little sloppy, and this last time it was horrendous. I arrived asking for a regular pedicure, but after it was taking so long, I asked for a gel so I could get out of there. She said no problem. She did it, and after she was done I noticed that it was sloppiest job I have ever seen! She didn't even fully paint the whole toe nail. So she said I could return, since I had to be somewhere. I returned that night and she "fixed" it. Great, it was a little thick and rushed because they were closing. I left and went home. When I took my shoe off I noticed that the polish had bubbled and was pealing. I also noticed that the polish was chipping on the pinky toe. So the next day I returned to the location asking for them to remove it and to give me a refund. She said why do I have to remove it if I'm giving 100 percent refund. I politely told her it's because this was my third time driving to the location. I have wasted my time, gas, and now I'm being yelled at in front of costumers. I told her she was being unprofessional, and she said she was not yelling it was her accent. I was so embarrassed. She told me to sit and wait while continuing to yell at me and in her language to her colleagues. I have never left a review for anything on here in my life, but the amount of embarrassment and belittling I had to face it was worth the review. I would strongly not recommend this place. read more

I liver in Carteret for a year and I go back ever so often from Jersey City as this js the first place where I get permanent eyelashes done. The owners name is Michelle and she is excellent at what she does. The experience is comfortable and I fall right asleep in the little room. Michelle is great at eyebrows too. Everyone is extremely friendly, from the owner to all the manicurists. Clean comfortable spot for your manis and pedis. I've gotten a pedi several times there and I had a random manicurist I didn't know much who I asked to put a flower on my toe (I love flower designs) and it was really great. Eyelashes for 120 at start then refill 20 to 40 or up depending on your timing. Clean place, friendly people. Good parking. No nonsense. Come here if you are looking for a bad service, and overpriced nails. The lady there had me wait 40 minutes for soak and left me there until another lady was finished with her client. I got my nails done by Sunny (probably not the correct spelling). I came in with 4 week old acrylic nails with a coffin shape. She shaped my nails really nicely and took her time, which I appreciated. The salon is very clean and the nail technicians are very attentive and friendly. Their prices are very reasonable in relation to Pro Nails which is two shopping strips over. I paid $40 for the fill, one repair and gel polish. I'll be back for sure! read more

I go here every 2-3 weeks for a pedicure. The women are always very nice and professional. I like that they open new toe separators and Emory boards for each guest and the cuticle scissors are kept in sanitizer. read more

I am giving this place no stars because I was very displeased with the service. I went into the salon exactly 1:00, I was quickly put into a chair for my pedicure which was great, except for the fact they had NO available girls and I sat there for 40 minutes.. No one saying anything to me... I was there on my hour lunch break so I had to leave with no pedicure and having sat in the water for 40 minutes. Better communication would have been nice and saved me a lot of time. I do not think it's wise to put someone in the chair until you have a girl close to or available. (both girls had just started pedicure when they put me in!) If you aren't going with a completely free schedule I wouldn't choose this place, since they seem to assume you can just sit in the chair, already in the water for 40 minutes.. I would of given this place a second chance, and no bad review if they had at least communicated with me. read more

I went in for a mani/pedi, first time. Customer service was good, however, it took them only 15 MINUTES to do a pedicure. It was really quick, they didnt take off cuticle, didnt scrub enough and the paint job was awful. They suggested I pay a dollar more for quick dry paint, and it made the paint bubbly, only to realize as well, that the paint was applied on super thick. I knew at that moment I couldnt even continue to get my mani done. I made up a lie, and ran out of there as fast as I could. Unfortunately I will never come here again. It was awful. read more

I never write a review but this was definitely needed! I went in for a acrylic fill in & gel polish. The lady started getting upset because they were acrylic. The lady was very rude and in such a hurry to do my nails. The nails were done so horribly that it took only 2 days for the gel to start peeling and my acrylic tips to break- it's only been 1 week since I've gotten them done and I already need to go back to get a complete new set. Ladies don't make the mistake I made- DO NOT GO TO THEM! Complete waste of my $45 & time! read more

I went here becauE I didn't want to go to my usual salon since it was further away, but I go in to ask the lady how much a wrap would be, and she comes up with a ridiculous $120!! Never in my life would I pay that amount! I just said no thanks and walked right out! I went to my regular place, lovely hispanic ladies who know how to do their job at much reasonable prices. I ended up getting tips with a gel manicure at Sabine's Nails in Elizabeth for $38, and they still look fabulous after a week. The Bloomingdales Nails is asking $45 for just a regular gel manicure and pedi for "early birds", while I can get the same at Sabine's for much less any time. In my opinion, I wouldn't waste my time going here ever again. Completely overpriced. read more
