I couldn't be happier with the alterations to my bridesmaid dress by Sunny! She was extremely welcoming and patient and really made me feel at home in her shop. I had the length of the dress shortened, the waist taken in almost 3 sizes, and the straps tightened and all together it costed $115, which I thought was very reasonable. Then came time for me to find someone to alter my wedding dress, which I had gotten at a place without a seamstress. I was understandably super stressed about it. I shopped around first, but I eventually came back to take a chance on Sunny because it seemed she had some experience with wedding dresses. She was also recommended by one of the wedding dress boutiques. She charged $375, which seemed kind of expensive, but my dress had a lot of details so I think it was reasonable. Her price includes 3 fittings though I only needed two. She also added a hidden bustle. She listened to what I wanted and my dress fit perfectly for our wedding day. I then came back and had two other dresses altered after. She also did a great job with those. I'd definitely recommend Sunny even for your wedding dress. I've had very good experiences here. I'm a guy and don't need alterations all that often, so this is my go to spot. I have had a Halloween costume altered, a zipper repaired on an expensive jacket, and recently took about a dozen shirts to be taken in. I am really glad I found this place. It is convenient, they have great store hours and they are very friendly. I took a dress in that needed to be taken in at the waist and hips. I tried it on and immediately the lady knew how it should fit and pinned it in all the appropriate places in less than a minute. I went back to pick my dress up about 5 days later and it was $30. I came upon this place after calling bridal shops from Yelp for alteration recommendations. This was a huge decision in choosing your seamstress for your expensive, beautiful wedding dress. You leave your dress with someone you have to trust to keep it safe. I used Sunny as my seamstress for my wedding dress and not only did she do a great job with the dress, she was at my budget as well. She was able to hem it all four layers and give me a bustle for under $150. Sunny is a busy lady, but makes sure to fit you in on time. The lady here does mediocre work, but only treats you with regard and respect if you are female. I went to her with good money, forthrightness, and kind regard, and was treated in turn by being interrupted, joked on, and quite simply was the brunt of her umbrella-effect disrespect. All I wanted to to ask her for a full taper on some fine hemp/cotton pants. Firstly, she lied about the service she could offer, saying that a full taper was impossible. Then when I went to ask, she began the landslide of disrespect. The woman has no honor nor dignity. If you are female, no worries. Had the sleeves shortened on a $200 designer shirt. Not only was one sleeve significantly longer than the other when I got it back, but the stitching was terrible and already coming out. The shorter sleeve is way too short, so there's nothing I can do to fix it now. I bought that shirt for a special trip and was in tears when I realized it was ruined. read more

had my wedding dress altered here. it was very detailed with lots of beads so i did plenty of research before taking it to the place i thought would do the best job. although the alterations were fine and the dress fit well, she did not sew up the bottom of the dress. so it was just a raw edge with beads falling off all day. it was a huge distraction on my wedding day watching my dream dress become less beaded as the day went on. read more

I went to have my wedding dress altered. A bit taken in, hemmed, the works. She had it for five weeks, which is fairly normal, but when I picked it up, the quality of the alterations was very poor. The straps were made way too tight, and there was a seam on the side that was really bunched up, so it wouldn't lay right. I tried to tell Sunny at the time that it didn't look right, but she insisted that it looked good. When I got home I tried it on again, and showed my sister, who agreed that it didn't fit right. I decided to ask for a refund for the alterations, then explore my options as far as either getting another seamstress to look at it, or scrapping it entirely (that side seam really looked messed up). When I went in to try to get my money back she made up excuse after excuse as to why a. It wasn't her fault it looked like that or b. Why I shouldn't get my money back. She would not admit that she had messed it up and would not refund me the cost of the alterations. I ultimately got an entire new dress because this experience put such a bad taste in my mouth. I do not recommend having anything altered here. read more

Based on Yelp reviews, I decided to use Sunny for the first time for something very basic - getting a hem put in a new maxi dress. (Nothing like purchasing a dress in petite and it's still too long). She was quite polite, and despite being at a peak time (I saw a lot of bridal gowns ), she says my dress will be ready for pickup a week after I dropped it off.
