    Pollo Guisado. Delicious.
    Criselda C.

I had the pollo guisado and everything about it was great, including the rice and black beans. For those missing some Filipino food. There aren't much around. However, the cuisine here calls out to the Spanish influence in Filipino cuisine. Order the pollo guisado and chicharon (aka lechon kawali). You'll know what mean. If you're from the West Coast craving Mexican Food, you can find many ingredients here. They are on UberEats too which is nice.

Delectable meal and very reasonably priced. Selected the crispy, lightly-breaded well-fried, moist white fish with seasoned yellow rice & sliced sausage pieces and plátanos, all nicely seasoned. The buffet selections for the day are behind glass/plastic display. Found the staff member to be patient and friendly during entire process while I viewed available choices. The take-home box was generously filled, enough for another meal! Indoor seating no longer visibly available. Other than the hot food buffet, this is a market with a clean appearance throughout the aisles. The majority of the space has a variety of perishable and non-perishable products, meats and seafood as well as fresh fruits and vegetables. The Bloomingdale Latin Market is located in the Kings Row Plaza on south side Bloomingdale Ave west of Kings Ave beside the Post Office. Parking & shopping carts north side of market entrance.

Part of the Big Lots plaza on Bloomingdale, it was easy to find. I will have to admit, for a meat market, this place was super clean and aesthetic. I have never been to a meat market where it was so clean. It was very easy to navigate and it was very simple to find things there. We were just browsing since we were at Big Lots and didn't buy anything but this place definitely surprised us. They also have a cafe that you can order food and get dessert as well. It was an enjoyable experience. Very affordable and clean meat.

Lechon with yucca and Cuban fried rice

Sometimes you don't have to look far to find good Latin food at an affordable price. I've been to this market many times in the past to get food from their buffet counter. It was hit or miss back then because they didn't always have what I wanted. Admittedly, I haven't returned until recently. I noticed that they have a larger buffet and more of a variety of freshly prepared foods such as lechon, pollo guisado, beef stew, picadillo, and so much more. They even had a selection of different rice dishes, and not just white or yellow rice. I was so happy to see the Cuban fried rice. It's a mix of salt pork, mixed veggies, and green onions. It was full of flavor. I also got some of their yucca and lechon with a slice of crispy skin (which I love). My box was filled high with all kinds of goodness. All of this for under $8. I can't remember the exact price but it was super affordable. I shared it with my mother and we still had some left over for another day. Everything was wonderful! This market is located at the old Kings Row shopping center near the post office. It's very popular with the locals. My experiences have been nothing but pleasant. This last Thursday evening was the best service I've had there. The nice lady behind the counter was very helpful and sweet. They have also added a couple of tables and chairs where you can sit and have your cafe con leche. We go there sometimes just to have an espresso after eating at Stein and Vine. Mom also loves the Cuban boniatillo (sweet potato) candy. They sell the individually wrapped ones near the check out counter. I think they are the ones that are made in Hialeah. I also saw some packaged Puerto Rican mallorca pastries with the powdered sugar packets. I'm using this as my excuse to go back again soon. It will be another fun gift for mom.

I've been here dozens of times and always get treated like I'm an old friend, yet I don't know anyone's name! Now that's what I call customer service! Now onto the meat....it definitely meats my expectations lol I couldn't help it! But seriously the selection is vast and the prices are crazy cheap! Hamburger meat, steaks, ribs, you name it and I'll bet they beat your nearest market by a long shot! Plus they give you 5% discount if you bring your last receipt! A slick yet effective way of continuous customers! Clean store and they have nothing to hide. You can see every employee working while you shop through their selection! Friendly and attentive! I've never been disappointed yet! The only and I mean only thing I would tell people reading this is, limited parking, and unfortunately the gas station next to it has some "unemployed" folk hanging around. But that isn't their fault! A solid 5 stars! Definitely! I apologize that I didn't take any pics but just take my word for it! Grab a slab of ribs and remember I brought you here! Enjoy!

The store did not feel overwhelming (I thought it would be) , was brightly lit, clean, and neatly sorted. The two gentleman who assisted us gave us a rundown of what was available in the freezers, how pre-ordering and special orders work, and what deals were currently running. There were so many choices to choose from: wagyu, elk, steak, exotic meats, pork, chicken (antibiotic and hormone free), wild caught seafood. We will be buying our meats from here going forward. Just wish they had organic chicken, but nowadays we don't even know if organic chicken in the grocery stores is even truly organic. You can also order online and even schedule for delivery. Hands down would definitely recommend anyone to check out their locations, especially the Valrico one. They were very welcoming and helpful in our selections. You may also find much better deals, more variety, and better quality at your local meat market than at a grocery store.

They have always delivered and makes me confident to recommend them to my family and friends. Whether you need some grocery items or a lunch/dinner plate, they have something for everyone. We recently had a housewarming party and used RFM for our food options. Our guests were thoroughly impressed by the food and the quality. Everyone HAD to know where we got the food from. One guest even said the pepper steak reminded her of her grandmothers when she was growing up. What a compliment! The service is good as well. It is definitely a predominantly Spanish speaking location but as a non-Spanish speaker, we've had no issues getting in our orders or interacting with the staff. Sundays are usually the most packed in my opinion, but it's mostly for those who are looking to grab a meal. They have multiple registers open at the same time to check out is usually pretty fast. Very well-lit inside, no crazy odors and lots to choose from.

On this day we ordered a Ropa Vieja Plate, Spaghetti and meatballs and Acapurria. Ropa Vieja- 4/5- The meat was tasty and tender, the yellow rice was a bit stale and the sweet plantains were perfectly fried. Tip: I was able to fix the rice by putting it in a bowl and adding a little water to it and then covering with a paper towel. This softened it up. Spaghetti and Meatballs- 4/5- The small size was perfect for my son but it contained peppers inside. He was not a fan. I thought it was good but if you don't like peppers in your food maybe stay clear of this one. Acapurria- 4/5- I received it cold as if it has been sitting out. The other items I ordered were hot upon arrival so this too should have been hot. It was tasty and greasy as you can tell from the bag in the picture.
