    Asian Chicken Salad
    Janet K.

Most Bloomingdale's location don't have a cafe and here is a good place to eat while shopping or you want to eat quality tuna sandwiches. Order: +Tuna sandwich= Quality tuna sandwich. It never comes out soggy or watery. I like it without the added mayonnaise. +Flagship Trio Platter= scoop of egg salad, chicken salad, and tuna salad. Pretty good! Only con is the salad ratio to the scoops is off. They need to put more salad because you run out of it with scoops still leftover. Maybe add some bread on the side? +Asian Chicken Salad= Big salad and the dressing is a delicious peanut sauce. I loved the cabbage and all the vegetables. The chicken was lukewarm but still good. I wish they put more chicken though as the ratio was off. Also, they didn't slice the chicken thoroughly as strings of chicken would still be attached. Service: Service was okay. We did have to ask several times for utensils. We also wanted the sandwich with no mayo but they messed up. In timely manner, we got the proper sandwich. Waiter refilled water glasses. We wanted bread while we wait and said it's normally a $2.50 charge but he let it slide.

    Ahi Tuna Poke Bowl

Bloomingdales 59th & Lex Cafe is a cozy eatery with a modest menu. The staff were attentive, the food was generously portioned, and the price was what you'd expect for a restaurant inside of a department store. Virgil took great care of me and my experience was pleasant. As far as Ahi Tuna Poke Bowls are concerned, the fish was fresh, the veggies crisp, and the rice warm. I would order this bowl again, and I look forward to trying other items from their menu.

Disappointing experience, especially for this location where people choose to spend their hard earned money. Visited the place couple of weeks ago and fell in love with their nitro cold brew. Came back today for $11.00 glass of coffee, instead was served a glass filled with ice with a splash of nitro cold brew. I wanted to order another drink without ice, but Jose came to explain that the restaurant can't cancel the drink, even though I did not request the drink to be cancelled. I asked for another nitro cold brew with no ice, but Jose explained again that the manager, Eladio, forces the waiting staff to fill the glass full of ice even though they receive numerous complaints from clients, at which point I began to fill my Sunday coffee experience turned into a rip off. The person sitting next to me was shocked and asked me what I ordered, he thought I got alcohol over ice. For comparison, the photo is of the glass of water I requested "iced", the ice was filled 10%, but the water does not come cold, cold brew coffee however does. Now imagine, they brought me the same small glass 100% filled with ice, over the top. How much coffee do you think fit in there after they added oat milk and hazelnut syrup? Hour and a half later, another waiter, kind enough brought me a regular size glass of water, also ice filled only at the top, please stop coffee discrimination... Few questions for the manager, Eladio - Why did I pay for the glass of coffee when what I received is 3 sips coffee? It's disturbing that two weeks ago, when I purchased the same $11.00 nitro cold brew with not ice to go, this was an issue - so why is today different? Why do I not have the ability to order a glass of nitro cold brew without ice if I so choose? I was specifically told by Jose that nitro cold brew cannot be served without ice, they can do "easy" which is glass half of ice, really? Why can the glass of water be served with 10% of ice, but not nitro cold brew? Where can I view the guide to your serving proportions?

The food was mediocre especially for the price. Hamburger was nothing special and the pasta Romano was worse than Olive Garden. They say they make their own sauce, it tastes like tomato soup from a can. The service was super slow. Almost 30 minutes wait. The server was nice enough, but I wouldn't come back!

I wish I had read my last review from 9 yrs ago before revisiting this place today…read more Let me tell you about the good things first... this won't take long. Kelley, our server, was a sweetheart. And the glass of wine was a nice pour and a decent wine. I like that they let you in for something to drink before officially opening for the day. Cue record scratch... now about that food. No, we did not order the wrong thing and no, IMO, they were not just having a bad day. Look at these Huevos Rancheros with "house hash, tostadas and 3 eggs"... those are chips (I think from a bag of tortilla chips) so not really a tostada, no way there were three eggs in that thing (from what I could see)... not sure what the "house hash" is but nothing I could identify on the plate. I know a lot of people might leave a restaurant and say "I could have made that at home" but there is no way I would make something this crappy at home. LOOK at this Avocado Toast with "avocado spread"... that is some thin smear of something green but when you are calling something "Avocado Toast" there should be a substantial amount of the hero ingredient (and maybe not call it "avocado spread" on your menu description. To me, that says, "Look we don't want to call this a "rustic mash of avocado" or "Hass smash" or "hand-crushed ripe avocado" because we know you are actually going to SEE it in front of you in about 15 minutes and "avocado spread" won't lead to a major disappointment." But it did. And this slab of dry plywood that they were calling toast. I turned to my wife and in my best Sebastian Manascalco said, "Why would you do that??" This place mostly failed on food. The food at the other tables looked equally pathetic. Gotta say... all of the cooked egg components of each dish were decent but the rest of the items were like WTF? Ambiance? It's OK... I mean it was a bar with a ton of TVs going. Semi-nice vibe for a sports bar... lots of room. Just can't get over the food. We ate about half of our sodium bombs and left. But parts of the eggs were lovely... as was Kelley.

My friend and I had such a great dineLA experience today. The lunch menu during this time is a…read morereally great deal. You a drink, an appetizer, an entree and ice cream, all for $25! These days, that the price of an entree. We shared our appetizers: my friend had the individual portion of the uptown mac and cheese and I had the grilled mushroom. The mac and cheese is to die for! So creamy and very rich, with aged cheddar and gruyere cheeses, pieces of chicken, peas, and asparagus sprinkled throughout. A definite diet buster, but worth it! The grilled mushroom was no slouch either. Consisting of oyster and king trumpet mushrooms, the dish had a nice "meaty" taste, ironic since it's a vegetarian dish that is cooked in a plant based butter. You don't miss the lack of meat at all. For entrees, my friend got the poke bowl, which I did not tasted so can't attest to it, but my friend said it was good. I had the spicy pasta, which was amazing. The campanelle pasta was cooked perfectly, holding the savory, slightly spicy corn-based cream sauce in all its luscious folds. Along with roasted poblano peppers, sautéed mushrooms, marinated artichokes, and tomatoes, the ingredients all worked so well together to make a truly yummy dish. We also shared our desserts: My friend got a scoop of the vanilla fleu de sal ice cream while I opted for a scoop of the dark chocolate. Both were good, but I liked the dark chocolate as it had actual pieces of dark chocolate. Our server Kayla was amazing. So friendly and on it! She constantly checked in on us, and made sure our drink glasses were never empty. Today is just the first day of dineLA, so plenty of more opportunities to go back and try some of the other options offered!

If 1 guest ordered from their Dine LA menu, then the entire group had to also order from the same menu! It was all or none! We selected their berry lemonade (very tart) & iced tea; appetizers (butternut squash soup, Thai Salad, Caesar Salad; mushroom plate), entrees (Classic Hamburger & the Blue Cheese with Bacon Burger; all burgers came with homemade fried potato chips), & dessert of ice cream (chocolate, vanilla, cherry). In addition, 2 guests ordered glasses of wine ($13.50 each) & a 3rd guest ordered a cup of regular coffee. The total bill was $272.85, & included a 20% tip, tax, & food. The burgers were huge, tasty, & very juicy. The Thai salad was unexpectedly very spicy. The butternut squash soup was creamy & flavorful. The ice cream was good. The facility & restroom were clean. The noon sun shined brightly through their skylights onto some of the tables. The service was good & quick. The music was extremely loud & annoying because it made it hard to carry on conversations. Street & valet parking are available. We said in our reservation & also told the hostess in person when we arrived that we were celebrating 3 birthdays. We were disappointed that the Granville did not provide 3 celebratory ice cream with candles. Although our feelings were hurt because our birthdays were ignored, we would return, but ask for a table in the shade & in a quiet corner.

There's music that's lively without being overbearing, and the staff is uniformly friendly. But... You have to order at the bar and, though they have runners to bring your food, you do have to hunt them down for anything after the delivery (extra ketchup, etc). While this isn't my favorite system at my age, to be fair, whatever the owners are saving on staff is reflected in the prices, which are absolutely below most places in the area for food that is good-quality and drinks that are generously poured. So yes, my wife's Espresso Martini was served in a deep-bellied Belgium beer glass, and my whiskey neat was a hefty pour. Yay!! For food, I ordered the Smash Burger, which is served with melted American, grilled onions and the house version of Russian dressing (as well as pickles, which I deleted). The burgers had a nice, smashed crust while remaining juicy, the cheese was properly melted, and the grilled onions had a terrific caramelized sweetness, while the house sauce was very well-balanced: ketchupy and creamy without being too mayonnaise-heavy. A very good smasher. My wife ordered the Big Texan Burger because she wanted cheddar and frizzled onions and BBQ sauce, though she deleted the bacon and pork belly that are normally included. This, too, was a very good burger: cooked to a proper and pleasing medium-rare and well-seasoned, with a good, fresh flavor to the beef. The onion rings were less successful, which are of the beer batter type, but seemed to be a commercial, frozen product. The coating was browned but not crisp, and the flavor was relatively nondescript. We didn't really eat them, and wouldn't order them again. And so, to me, The Tipsy Cow is a bit of a mixed bag: reasonably priced decent food and reasonably priced, generously-poured drinks -- but in a mostly self-serve environment that incrementally loses its appeal in relation to your age and your dining circumstances. Certainly worth a try, but you've gotta be in the right mood.
