I love this place. Reservations highly recommended as it does get pretty packed. Parking can be a little tricky with street parking as it's pretty much metered along Ventura or if you're lucky enough with parking along the neighborhood. There's valet available but quite steep with 15.00. We had an early reservation for Saturday night which they were able to seat us early. Inside was somewhat busy with indoor seating but majority of the patio seating was empty. About half an hour to our arrival, it was packed. We got seated along the patio just off of Ventura. It's a nice garden vibe with the trees and lights. Perfect evening for a summer night dinner. Menu wise for both meal and drinks was great. I didn't even noticed that they offer a 90 minute open bar concept for wine and beer. Need to take advantage of that next time. I tend to stick to the classic drinks, the barcarita. An easy cocktail drink for a hot summer night. Also had the kind of a big dill and olena heat. All the drinks were quite tasty and well presented. Second round was quite nice too except we also tried the sangria. Not going to lie, it wasn't good. Stick to the cocktails. With food, they recommend 2 to 3 items per person which would be good for sharing as well. Everything is tapas style. They have the cold dish, hot dish, pizza and sweets. Literally everything on the menu looked and sounded amazing. All the times I've been the food has alway been consistent and amazing. We had some friends with us which it was their first time so they were quite excited to try everything. Started off with the baguette and garlic oil. Very simple dish and basically what it is. A few of the cold dish was ordered. The crudo which was quite nice with thin sliced barramundi fish and tossed in a nice lemon marinade. So good. The burrata which was a favorite. Simple dish with tomatoes, pesto, burrata and baguette. Salatim, it was like three type of hummus and served with pitas. Lastly the rainbow beets, that was another favorite dish for us. Oven roasted but so simple yet so good. A must have. Also plates are brought out based on when they're ready. Random items will be bought out according to when it's ready. For the hot, the scallops medallion with summer corn was ordered. I believe it comes three to an order but you can add additional which we did. Honestly, that was our least favorite out of everything we had. It was good., but the other dishes outdid it. The mushroom pizza was a hit. Thin crust and loaded with smoked mushrooms and white cheddar, a must try. The sea bass, it was good but the piece was fairly thin compared to the last time we had it. Still good and cooked well. A simple dish but good as well was the Mediterranean street corn. The food is alway good even though there were some misses but we all enjoyed everything. There was little mixed up with table across from us with dessert which we were then offered it. Cant say no to a nice hot plate of bread pudding with ice cream. That was amazing and so delicious. Service was amazing with all the staff. You have your main waiter/waitress but throughout the meal, random server will drop off plates after plates. The staff are all so friendly and sweet. I really wanted to love Bacari Sherman Oaks, especially because I'm a huge fan of the Bacari locations in Silver Lake and North Park. Unfortunately, this location repeatedly missed the mark for both brunch and dinner. On multiple visits, hot food came out cold and didn't taste particularly fresh. The cocktails also weren't executed with the same care or consistency I've come to expect from other Bacari locations. And while I understand the intimate vibe is part of the concept, the Sherman Oaks space felt cramped and, unfortunately, a bit grimy rather than cozy. It's disappointing because I know how good Bacari can be. I went in with high expectations based on my experiences at the other locations, but this one just doesn't deliver the same quality, atmosphere, or attention to detail. I really wanted this location to be a new favorite, but I wouldn't go back when there are other Bacari locations that do it so much better. read more

I have heard so many great things about Bacari, but the service was really poor during our visit. It was hard to get the attention of our server, and perhaps due to us coming in on the cusp of their shifts, we had 3 different people "taking care" of us. One of our dishes never came, another went to the wrong table, and we also got a dish to our table we didn't order. To start the food was AMAZING! We tried Moroccan cigars, Noa's cauliflower, Skirt steak, pork belly, stuffed mushrooms, scallops, and 2 of the Mac and cheese. The smoked mushroom pizza was ok.....I don't care for my greens to be roasted on the pizza like that but the flavor was good. Our group finished it off with their date cake....make sure to get it with ice cream! The service was good. They were very accommodating moving us from the parlor to the main restaurant but I really wished we could've taken our waitress with us. The next one was good but disappeared at times. The entrance to the restaurant is really cozy, it feels like you're walking into someone's home. We had outdoor seating. We ordered the pear pizza, banana coffee, Moroccan cigars, lamb hummus, Mac&cheese. Pear Pizza: 5/5 Lots of complex flavouring. Sweet, salty, tomatoey, pizzaey. The textures were just right. I could eat two of these on my own. Banana Coffee: 4/5 Nothing special but it was definitely tasty! Doesn't help that I am a coffee perfectionist. Lamb Hummus: 5/5, I just wish there was more lamb but don't we all. The dish was really good though, and so was the pita it came with. We couldn't get enough. Moroccan Cigars: 4.5 / 5, they are essentially falafel egg rolls. On their own, it tastes like good falafel inside a crispy exterior. The sweet sour sauce takes it a bit further, excellent pairing. Ginger beer: 5/5 yum! Mac and Cheese: 3/5, was a bit disappointing. I liked the use of the shell pasta. The top of the Mac was great since it's baked crispy with crispy onion on top. I've had Bacari bookmarked for a while (several locations, actually) and finally got the chance to check it out for Sunday brunch. Food and service were both great. Luke, our waiter, was attentive and made sure we had a really nice dining experience. I'm definitely a sweet-and-savory brunch girl, so I ordered the chef's French toast with a side of bacon and eggs. The French toast could honestly pass for dessert. I barely ever write reviews, but Bacari was so good I had to! I went there to celebrate my birthday and received the best service I ever had; I would recommend coming earlier on in the evening to avoid the crowd. The staff were so sweet and thoughtful, and the space was gorgeous. I got a yummy mocktail on the house. Super excited to try more of the drinks in the future! I will say the crudo was a bit too lemony, but the scallops and street corn were pretty good. I think I would've preferred the scallops to be a little softer, but they had a nice sear. The street corn had a very unique flavor profile - if you don't like feta that much, I'd ask them to make it lighter or take it out entirely. I'd also recommend getting The Best Cake with ice cream for dessert. It's not too sweet, and I liked it despite not being a huge fan of dates. What a vibe! An impromptu trip to LA found me here with my cousins and their friends enjoying a delicious dinner in a beautiful atmosphere. The side of cauliflower was good. The problem here is that there was actually more cauliflower than there was pasta or steak :( For dessert I decided to try the brownie, I liked it. Our server suggested it with ice cream and that made it so much better. Now onto drinks, they've got a biggg wine list and my friend was very satisfied with this. I got their espresso martini and asked them to make it a little less sweet and it was great. Solid 8/10. They offer valet for $15 at dinner. Not sure what the price is during the day. The ambiance of the restaurant was beautiful, but for some reason it was freezing cold inside. I wore my jacket the whole time and was still shivering. It was warmer outside with the heaters on. Another year, another visit to Bacari for my birthday. Could this be a tradition?! It might be! We come here other times too, but I chose to celebrate with my family again this year. Keep reading as to why this might not be a definite yes anymore. Reservations can be made via OpenTable and when you arrive, let the front desk know you have reservations and they'll check you in and call you up once your table is ready. Once at the front desk, we were greeted by the wonderful staff who sat us at our table. Unfortunately, that's where the attentiveness stopped. Once my group sat down, we immediately wanted to start with the Salatim and the waitress just asked if we wanted still, sparkling or filtered water and didn't ask the table if they wanted any other drinks. I wanted to celebrate with some cocktails, but I guess not. As more and more people arrived and filled the tables around us, our waitress started helping them and kind of forgot about us. We had to flag her down to get see if she could take a drink order in and she said she would be right back and tended to the other table. When she came back, she took our cocktail order and food items we wanted. Food arrived pretty quickly and as usual, were delicious. As we were finishing, we had to ask for the check. She left the mini clipboard on the table with the receipt for us to pay and left. We put a credit card in and we waited and waited and waited. We had to flag another gentleman that was working there to see if he could run the card for us instead. We paid and left. Hoping it was an off day for the waitress as everyone else seemed to be on point - especially the person bringing the food to us. This kind of ruined the day and the great experiences I had before here and at other Bacari restaurants. I will need to rethink coming here for next year's birthday lunch/dinner and if my family will still make this restaurant part of our rotation. Really disappointed with the service we received. Hands down one of my favorite Bacari locations! Staff is always so attentive and every dish is truly phenomenal. I always order an Asian Pear & Brie Pizza & Mediterranean style corn. Tonight I tried the Tripoline pasta which was green & rich in flavor, 10/10 I would definitely recommend these 3 dishes as well as their Love Letter (whiskey) & Express Yourself (vodka) cocktail. I found open seating for two at the bar & my bartender Jasper did an amazing job when I asked him to surprise me with a cocktail. He made me a Whiskey based Yuzu & lavender martini, next time you visit you should give it a try. Valet parking is offered ($12-15 can't remember) but there is also street parking which you pay $3-5 for at the nearest meter. Because of the rain and the traffic congestion today, I parked at the Ralph's parking structure across the street for about 2-3 hours & my car was still there lol. We decided to come here because my friend is flying back to Manila tomorrow and we wanted to have a nice send-off dinner. Another friend of ours had been wanting to try Bacari for a while, and since I always see this place packed, I thought this would be the perfect time to finally check it out. After maybe 30 or 40 minutes, she let us know someone had canceled and we could be seated sooner. That part I appreciated. The vibe is honestly great. Dim lighting, cozy atmosphere, cool artwork on the walls, and a lively crowd. It feels trendy and energetic. I get why people like coming here. It feels like a place to hang out and talk for hours. Our server was awesome. Super accommodating and patient, especially since it was our first time and we had no clue what to order. Now the food. We ordered pasta, sea bass, salmon, and pita with dips. The pasta came out first. We actually thought it was an appetizer at first because of how it looked. It was good, flavor-wise. But the portion was really small. One person could have finished it in under two minutes. There were three of us sharing. Then came the sea bass. Same story. Tiny plate, small portion. It tasted okay. Nothing bad about it, but nothing memorable either. The salmon was similar. Decent, but very regular. Definitely not something I would crave again. A few nights before, we had salmon and sea bass at Joey in Woodland Hills, and that meal was honestly a 10 out of 10. This one felt like a 6 out of 10, and that's me being generous. My two friends actually said it was more like a 5. One of them even said our housekeeper makes better salmon at home, and we all kind of agreed. We left not really full and not really impressed. So here's my honest take. If you're coming for the vibe, it's great. If you're curious because it's always packed and there's hype around it, try it once. I visited this Bacari location recently with my colleagues for dinner. It's a gorgeous space, absolutely worth the visit. The food was also delicious - I chose the glazed pork belly and the Asian pear & Brie pizza. (It went REALLY well together!) and I think I had a cider with. All delicious things. Our server was great - he let me pay my share separately so I could leave first. I always appreciate that kind of service. My only quibble, if you will, is that it was SO. DAMN. LOUD. in our section. Now, I'm not sure if it was the other tables around us, but it was so loud we could barely hear ourselves. It was also quite dark, but I've come to associate that with the Bacari experience as a whole (I've also visited the Silverlake location and it's just as dark there). Anyway, I'd totally come back. We made reservations at Bacari Sherman Oaks. Originally we were going to dine at 6:30. We called and asked if we could dine sooner. We changed the reservation to 5:45. We arrived at a charming venue that featured outdoor dining with heating lamps and a separate bar with a fireplace. We were seated inside in a corner table overlooking the outside. The restaurant reminds me of a quaint French chateau with leaded glass windows. We were greeted by Ellie our waitress, she was friendly, knowledgeable and explained the menu. And we asked her questions regarding our choices. Our choices were some of her favorite dishes. She told us we would be sharing small Tapas plates. We ordered the Glazed Pork Belly, & Pork chop, that was sliced and delicious it was caramelized with pearl onion and Parmesan . We also ordered the Lamb Humus that was ground and braised with spiced Lebanese stew and hot fresh pita bread.
