Absolutely a fan of my local Bacari. This super cool and inviting eatery is located on Ventura Blvd and Hazeltine across from Ralph's and a beat away from the central Whole Foods in Sherman Oaks. Extensive menu with so much variety including lots of delicious finds for all. Team green falafel all the way!! Their vegan pizza pie with caramelized onion, mixed green, roasted garlic and so many yummy flavors is a win as well! The tofu scramble and salatim make brunch the best. And let's not forget about that vegan double chocolate cake :) Enjoy the full dine in experience as well as delivery or pickup - Bacari does it all yall. Incredible cocktails as well as mocktails, inclusive wine, beer and non-alcohol beverages which include classic like juice, cold brew, other coffee like favs and teas. It's casual, trendy, and enchanting all at once. Service is typically pretty great. ADA entrance, restrooms and paths. Parking is valet or local street and lot, typically meter or flat rate. During the week they're only open for dinner at 4:30PM until 10:30 PM which makes a weekday lunch craving unfortunate. Friday through Sunday is a different story as the AM to PM is abundant, with a small gap between 230PM til 4PM where they close on Saturday and Sunday only for the change over. We've been to several Bacari locations, and Bacari Sherman Oaks is easily our favorite. The food was delicious across the board, but what really made the experience stand out was Lawrence. He was absolutely the star of the show--so warm, gracious, accommodating, and genuinely focused on making sure we had a great experience. That kind of hospitality is what turns a good meal into a memorable one. The beverages were also expertly crafted--balanced, thoughtful, and seriously well done especially the Olena Heat. Food-wise, everything was tasty, , shawarma tacos, Bacari burger, chicken wings, crudo, little gem salad, and charred broccoli. We probably didn't need the fries with everything else we ordered, but that's a pretty minor complaint! Great atmosphere, excellent food and drinks, and exceptional hospitality from Lawrence. We had a team dinner at Bacari Sherman Oaks recently. Although quite hot, the patio was lovely and reminiscent of a garden in the Mediterranean. At night, the candlelight and lamps create a nice, romantic atmosphere. Bacari is tapas style and encourages sharing dishes with your table. They recommend about 2-3 plates per person and each plate runs around $15. Lucky for me, I wasn't paying, and our host ordered quite the feast for us. Our dinner lasted a couple of hours, with plates gradually coming in waves. It was dark by the time we finished eating, and I was stuffed! I, of course, started with a cocktail. I had the Love Letter, honeyed whiskey with passionfruit, toasted marshmallow, and lemon. It was a delightfully sweet little treat. I loved how you get a big whiff of toasted marshmallow each sip, and the drink itself is bright and tangy. My favorite bite of the night had to be the brie and asian pear pizza. It was immaculate, and I would say a must order item. The brie was so rich and buttery and went so well with the crisp, refreshing sweetness of the asian pear. It was the perfect summer pizza. I also really liked the watermelon salad, which was so cool and refreshing on a hot summer night and was served with a delicious whipped feta. The only thing I wasn't a big fan of were the shawarma tacos, which I thought were lackluster and unremarkable. But, for the most part, every dish was eye-catching and delicious. The atmosphere became much more bearable once the sun set, and the vibe became much more romantic. Candles and lamplight illuminated the garden. It was then that our desserts came out. We got the bread pudding and the pistachio cremeschnitte. The bread pudding was served in a mini cast iron skillet and was perfectly warm, soft, and gooey, topped with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. And the pistachio cremeschnitte was quite good as well - flaky pastry with pistachio cream plated quite chicly. I have no idea how much the bill was, but it was probably quite hefty. But I had a wonderful time trying all the different tapas and sitting in the beautiful patio area. I will say that if you're planning to come for dinner in the summertime, you should probably either sit indoors or wait until nightfall as it was a bit uncomfortable until the sun went down. read more

Enjoyed a beautiful, delicious candlelit dinner outside. Despite having reservations, we waited about 10 mins for our table to be ready. We were greeted with prosecco while we waited. We were seated at one of the best tables in the outdoor area. Our waitress was attentive and others were happy to help when she was missing. The entrance to the restaurant is really cozy, it feels like you're walking into someone's home. We had outdoor seating. We ordered the pear pizza, banana coffee, Moroccan cigars, lamb hummus, Mac&cheese. Pear Pizza: 5/5 Lots of complex flavouring. Sweet, salty, tomatoey, pizzaey. The textures were just right. I could eat two of these on my own. Banana Coffee: 4/5 Nothing special but it was definitely tasty! Doesn't help that I am a coffee perfectionist. Lamb Hummus: 5/5, I just wish there was more lamb but don't we all. The dish was really good though, and so was the pita it came with. We couldn't get enough. Moroccan Cigars: 4.5 / 5, they are essentially falafel egg rolls. On their own, it tastes like good falafel inside a crispy exterior. The sweet sour sauce takes it a bit further, excellent pairing. Ginger beer: 5/5 yum! Mac and Cheese: 3/5, was a bit disappointing. I liked the use of the shell pasta. The top of the Mac was great since it's baked crispy with crispy onion on top. I love this place. Reservations highly recommended as it does get pretty packed. Parking can be a little tricky with street parking as it's pretty much metered along Ventura or if you're lucky enough with parking along the neighborhood. There's valet available but quite steep with 15.00. We had an early reservation for Saturday night which they were able to seat us early. Inside was somewhat busy with indoor seating but majority of the patio seating was empty. About half an hour to our arrival, it was packed. We got seated along the patio just off of Ventura. It's a nice garden vibe with the trees and lights. Perfect evening for a summer night dinner. Menu wise for both meal and drinks was great. I didn't even noticed that they offer a 90 minute open bar concept for wine and beer. Need to take advantage of that next time. I tend to stick to the classic drinks, the barcarita. An easy cocktail drink for a hot summer night. Also had the kind of a big dill and olena heat. All the drinks were quite tasty and well presented. Second round was quite nice too except we also tried the sangria. Not going to lie, it wasn't good. Stick to the cocktails. With food, they recommend 2 to 3 items per person which would be good for sharing as well. Everything is tapas style. They have the cold dish, hot dish, pizza and sweets. Literally everything on the menu looked and sounded amazing. All the times I've been the food has alway been consistent and amazing. We had some friends with us which it was their first time so they were quite excited to try everything. Started off with the baguette and garlic oil. Very simple dish and basically what it is. A few of the cold dish was ordered. The crudo which was quite nice with thin sliced barramundi fish and tossed in a nice lemon marinade. So good. The burrata which was a favorite. Simple dish with tomatoes, pesto, burrata and baguette. Salatim, it was like three type of hummus and served with pitas. Lastly the rainbow beets, that was another favorite dish for us. Oven roasted but so simple yet so good. A must have. Also plates are brought out based on when they're ready. Random items will be bought out according to when it's ready. For the hot, the scallops medallion with summer corn was ordered. I believe it comes three to an order but you can add additional which we did. Honestly, that was our least favorite out of everything we had. It was good., but the other dishes outdid it. The mushroom pizza was a hit. Thin crust and loaded with smoked mushrooms and white cheddar, a must try. The sea bass, it was good but the piece was fairly thin compared to the last time we had it. Still good and cooked well. A simple dish but good as well was the Mediterranean street corn. The food is alway good even though there were some misses but we all enjoyed everything. There was little mixed up with table across from us with dessert which we were then offered it. Cant say no to a nice hot plate of bread pudding with ice cream. That was amazing and so delicious. Service was amazing with all the staff. You have your main waiter/waitress but throughout the meal, random server will drop off plates after plates. The staff are all so friendly and sweet. My first time at Bacari, and it was to celebrate my MIL's 70th birthday during brunch. We sat outside and I really liked their outdoor set up even though the cushions look a little extra worn. I was looking forward to their service after reading reviews, and although the service was good, it wasn't great. Our server really spaced out her check-ins and it took a really long time to bring us water, then coffee, then the appetizer bread, then our actual order. I was starving by the time I got my food, BUT, the food was excellent! In fact, it was so good, I forgot to take pictures. The chilaquiles were on point, the pancake was light, fluffy, with just the right amount of sweetness. Lastly, I had the shawarma tacos and those were also delicious with the salsa they come with. I really wanted to love Bacari Sherman Oaks, especially because I'm a huge fan of the Bacari locations in Silver Lake and North Park. Unfortunately, this location repeatedly missed the mark for both brunch and dinner. On multiple visits, hot food came out cold and didn't taste particularly fresh. The cocktails also weren't executed with the same care or consistency I've come to expect from other Bacari locations. And while I understand the intimate vibe is part of the concept, the Sherman Oaks space felt cramped and, unfortunately, a bit grimy rather than cozy. It's disappointing because I know how good Bacari can be. I went in with high expectations based on my experiences at the other locations, but this one just doesn't deliver the same quality, atmosphere, or attention to detail. I've had Bacari bookmarked for a while (several locations, actually) and finally got the chance to check it out for Sunday brunch. Food and service were both great. Luke, our waiter, was attentive and made sure we had a really nice dining experience. Our server was great - he let me pay my share separately so I could leave first. I always appreciate that kind of service. My only quibble, if you will, is that it was SO. DAMN. LOUD. in our section. Now, I'm not sure if it was the other tables around us, but it was so loud we could barely hear ourselves. Another year, another visit to Bacari for my birthday. Could this be a tradition?! It might be! We come here other times too, but I chose to celebrate with my family again this year. Keep reading as to why this might not be a definite yes anymore. Reservations can be made via OpenTable and when you arrive, let the front desk know you have reservations and they'll check you in and call you up once your table is ready. Once at the front desk, we were greeted by the wonderful staff who sat us at our table. Unfortunately, that's where the attentiveness stopped. Once my group sat down, we immediately wanted to start with the Salatim and the waitress just asked if we wanted still, sparkling or filtered water and didn't ask the table if they wanted any other drinks. I wanted to celebrate with some cocktails, but I guess not. As more and more people arrived and filled the tables around us, our waitress started helping them and kind of forgot about us. We had to flag her down to get see if she could take a drink order in and she said she would be right back and tended to the other table. When she came back, she took our cocktail order and food items we wanted. Food arrived pretty quickly and as usual, were delicious. As we were finishing, we had to ask for the check. She left the mini clipboard on the table with the receipt for us to pay and left. We put a credit card in and we waited and waited and waited. We had to flag another gentleman that was working there to see if he could run the card for us instead. We paid and left. Hoping it was an off day for the waitress as everyone else seemed to be on point - especially the person bringing the food to us. This kind of ruined the day and the great experiences I had before here and at other Bacari restaurants. I will need to rethink coming here for next year's birthday lunch/dinner and if my family will still make this restaurant part of our rotation. Really disappointed with the service we received. Hands down one of my favorite Bacari locations! Staff is always so attentive and every dish is truly phenomenal. I always order an Asian Pear & Brie Pizza & Mediterranean style corn. Tonight I tried the Tripoline pasta which was green & rich in flavor, 10/10 I would definitely recommend these 3 dishes as well as their Love Letter (whiskey) & Express Yourself (vodka) cocktail. I found open seating for two at the bar & my bartender Jasper did an amazing job when I asked him to surprise me with a cocktail. He made me a Whiskey based Yuzu & lavender martini, next time you visit you should give it a try. Valet parking is offered ($12-15 can't remember) but there is also street parking which you pay $3-5 for at the nearest meter. Because of the rain and the traffic congestion today, I parked at the Ralph's parking structure across the street for about 2-3 hours & my car was still there lol.
