Why would anyone buy cosmetics here? I attempted to return a product that I bought a few days ago and was insulted by a cosmetics sales person who accused me of using it greatly and refused to take the return. I did use it for about 5 seconds and then threw it in a bag so I can return it when I make my way back to Glendale. How would I know if a product works for my skin if I don't even use it once? It's been 7 days for gods sake. I will never buy cosmetics here again. There is nobody ever there just tons of sad looking sales people who want to argue with you and make you feel like its a side con to return something. Quite surprised by the low rating, given that I never have any issues at this location and that they regularly take my two previously purchased bags to repair each time they are worse for wear (going on two years old around this December and I still have the receipt...not sure if this service ever ends, but I'll keep using it until I'm told the warranty/fix-it-for-you period has expired). What really impressed me the last time I visited was the customer service by both the shoe department and a member of the staff at BCBG. I had shopped with both a month prior in preparation of a trip abroad and they were lovely and chatty then, but then when I returned to take back the items I didn't end up sporting on the trip, they both remembered me and asked how the trip was! You don't get that very often, especially in retail, but it really warmed my little Bloomies heart. The newest Bloomingdale's location, this store is so beautiful, very well organized, makes it so easy to look for my favorite brands. Men's department on first floor, women and children's departments on second floor, the layouts of this store is much better than other stores, it's so bright with lots of chic displays and decorations, very nice! The sales people were extremely friendly here, wherever we went. They greeted us warmly, and provided good services in finding the right things in right sizes. Great shoe salon carries premium designer brands just like South Coast Plaza location, I want more Gucci and Prada! I love this store. Marisa from handbags department was so helpful, she did her best to locate the Michael Kors handbag I was looking for and found it on sale, ordered it for me. All with a smile on her face, very fast and professional (it was the last one left in stock so every second counted!!!) I had a wonderful customer experience!!!! Same in men's department, don't remember the lady's name but she was also very friendly and helpful. I purchased a Sanctuary chenille sweater in October. I wore it once (set it aside) and got rid of the tags and paper receipt and waited to wash it the first time. I washed it delicate and laid out flat to air dry. I look down today after washing and laying it out to dry flat and see a HUGE tear down the middle of the chest area. I went to Bloomingdale's to return it. They CANNOT see your purchases through THEIR points program in the system. I tried the three cards I only use and magically NONE of them were found with the purchase. I was offered a STORE CREDIT to be MAILED to me 4 to 6 weeks later. I needed a dress for an upcoming wedding. I went to Bloomingdale's because I always found a good selection & very attentive sales associates. Not on Friday, May 5. I was walking all over the women's dress department trying to find someone to help. Once I located a sales associate she walked right passed me even though I was asking for help. Then I tried to get into a dressing room to try a dress on & all were locked. Finally I got into one as a woman was leaving. The same sales associate started knocking on the dressing room door as I was changing. I told her the room was occupied & her response was it wasn't my turn. She was speaking to someone right outside the door going on and on about it not being my turn. Bloomingdale's your store has become like so many of the other department stores that I no longer shop in. I think your staff would benefit from some much needed customer service training! read more

On the return department: Gabriel de Leon And manager: Gisa Zero customer service. Very politely I tried to explain what was going on with my card and the points. Gabriel seemed to not understand what exactly is going on and he said he has to call the loyalist number to check on my record after spending 20 min talking there then he started searching my order status trying to understand what's going on with my "$25" gift card. I asked him can you ask a manger to help. He said I'm helping you. He couldn't find any answers of what was wrong. Mind you now it's 30 min I'm in the store and no answers yet. Then he calls his manager Gisa. Very rude manager no hi, no customer service, goes straight into the papers she's like what happened ? Really ? I have to explain same stuff to her now after 30 min of explaining to another employee? So frustrated and honestly so not professional. Women's fine jewelry department of Bloomingdale's for Lana Jewelry, I met Alen. Not only was he patient, he let me try on different Lana pieces which looked beautiful in the case, but may not have looked as beautiful on me... Some pieces which were not so impressive on the case, looked fabulously delicate and elegant on my decolletage... it showcased my demure style and femininity. Alen got my personal information, catalogued my favorites, sent me a personal TY card, then diligently followed up with me for the F&F sale (as I had requested). I actually changed my plans to purchase from Bloomingdale's SCP to Bloomingdale's Glendale because of Alen. I had an issue with the clasp on the necklace and he EFFECTIVELY spoke to his manager to get results to either replace our discount the item. His follow up and professional service made all the difference!!! After all - we expect personalized service and to be catered to, when we choose to shop at a high end pricey department store. I wanted to make sure he got credit for my purchases, as he fully earned it. He beautifully packaged my Lana Jewelry pieces in beautiful black Bloomingdale's jewelry boxes, with the Lana pouches for travel. The Bloomingdale's store in Glendale has the worst customer service. There is either no staff at the cosmetics counters or they're unpleasant and don't want to be there. Every time I am at the Aqua department in this store, the employees are congregated around each other by the cash register gossiping and socializing. They only disperse when they see Cruella de Vil, the store manager, walking over or are interrupted by customers asking for help. My worst experience in this store was with Calvin, who is supposed to be some kind of manager, but he too has no customer service skills. I wanted to return boots that I had only tried on at the Sherman Oaks store and had never worn them after making the purchase. After he asked me why I was returning the boots, he said that he couldn't take them back and could only do an exchange because the boots weren't in a resaleable condition. I tried to explain to him that I had never worn them and had only tried them on at the store before buying them. He kept repeating that they wouldn't sell shoes in that condition and then hallucinated that I had said I wore them three times, which irritated me even more because he was lying through his teeth to justify his decision. Obviously, if they had been worn, he would have never offered to exchange them. I asked for his manager, who was Cruella de Vil herself. She didn't care about what I had to say because she had already heard the made up story from her pet. I left the store refusing to settle for an exchange and returned the boots without any problems at the Sherman Oaks store 20 minutes later. I used to love shopping here but lately the customer service is lacking greatly, unless of course you look like you're going to spend lots of money. Bloomingdale's used to be my go to store for all gifts from high end to low end because their selection is great for everyone. Sadly their customer service has pushed me towards Nordstrom's instead. When I walk into Nordstrom's I am always greeted and asked if I'm doing okay/if I need assistance. I do not feel the same effort in Bloomingdale's anymore. Maybe it's because all the old staff left? & the new staff they hired aren't all that friendly? I don't know honestly but I've seen a lot of the old employees working at Nordstrom's now. Carla said she could get me a new one in the back, buy there was only the one on the floor. I asked if she could give me an additional discount and she said no, but that's okay. Carla was so great in explaining that the price I was getting was already phenomenal and the purse is really good. She showed me her purse and the other associates also had the same bag and loved it. My point is she stands behind the product she sells and I bought the purse $199,00. The best price, I searched on the net and the bag I bought was sold out everywhere. Carla was assisting a few customers at one time and gave us all her full attention. Carla has a great disposition, positive personality, she's knowledgeable and really went out of her way to help everyone. A well organized store. I loved the layout. The place is always clean and the employees are really helpful. They were not busy just ready to answer and questions. They have a great selection of sunglasses and they were in multiplecolors. So many choices and on the spot I decided, however if you have something specific on your mind it would be for the best. With this location right on the corner intersection it's not difficult to find ok or to get to. The parking garage is right next to it too. The only down side to this store is that is on the pricy side. Please be sure to check this place out for yourself though. read more

When we walked into the store yesterday to purchase a hand bag I wasn't sure which designer I wanted to go with. I walked in was ignored and not greeted by any associates we passed by. I went to the MCM counter and there was Martha. Not only did she have the warmest and most professional approach. She greeted me. Asked me what I was looking for. Showed me all the bags that I was debating on without rushing me. And also took her time to walk me around the store and introduce me to different brands and tell me the history and background on them. I wasn't too sure if I wanted to make the purse purchase that day. But due to her outstanding service I decided to call back today and order an MCM bag! I will always give my business and will recommend her services to my associates and family. I am so glad I found her, what a gem! I wish there were more people out there like her, she's a rare find! I recently had the best shopping experience at Bloomingdale's. I need to emphasize that it is not because of the store itself but because of the EMPLOYEES! I have been here multiple times at this point and each time I've had a nice experience. Most recently, however, I was helped by one of the most outstanding employees I've ever met and so I had to write a review! Her name is CELESTE! She's on the third floor, women's department, dress counter! If you have an event to go to or are looking for something cute for the weekend, this girl is going to take care of you. She was by far the most quick, professional, pleasant, and customer-service savvy employee I've met. She was very perceptive and attentive about my needs and literally did not waste a single second. She had the foresight to anticipate all my needs and as quick as she was she did not compromise customer service. This past Tuesday I came by Bloomingdale's while shopping at the Glendale Galleria. I just thought I would browse this store, not really expecting to buy anything. But then as I entered the first floor, I saw all of the purses and decided to take a look. After eyeing a particular bag on the sales table (bags on this table were an additional 30% off) I walked towards it and tried to find the price tag. Unfortunately no price tag was present and there were no employees in this department to ask for help. After a short time of waiting, finally an employee (Gwendlynn) walked through this section. This employee was actually walking towards an employee only section. I had asked her if she could help me find the price for this bag. After she placed her item away (she had asked me beforehand if she could put something away in the employee only section), she was able to pull up the price on one of the registers. Even though Gwendlynn did not work in this department, she still helped me (even though she could have just helped find me someone who did work in this department, as that had happened to me in another department store in the past). I was a little disappointed with the price of this purse and told her I would just think about it. Shortly after I walked away, she ran after me as she found another employee who worked in this purse department. She told me that the employee in the purse department can sell me the purse presale (meaning that I can purchase the purse at the sales price a few days before but I would have to come back to pick it up instead of taking the item home that day). Victor, the employee in the purse department, was helpful in ringing up the purse for me at the presale price, which was at a great price that I couldn't resist (Victor told me that often times employees will sell items presale). Victor also helped me sign up for a Bloomingdale's card (save an additional 10% the day you sign up and the day after) and loyalty card (so I can earn points for each of my purchases). ------------------- Then I came back to this location with my husband on Thursday to pick up my bag (I received a receipt for pick up), which was easy and painless. My bag was wrapped in the bag's dust bag, which was in their trademark medium brown bag. And off I left with a smile on my face (happy wife, happy life). read more

I wanted to check out a new mall so I made my way over to the Glendale area. It's clean, people are nicer here than at other Bloomingdales that I have been to, and not too crowded. So why 4 stars? Because as one other Yelper has noticed, the BATHROOMS! I was happily washing my hands and turned around to see that I could see EVERYTHING happening in a closed stall. Like, it's burned into my retinas and I wish it weren't. That shiny black tile underneath only the stall area has to be replaced. If you can't hold it, I suggest laying seat covers on the floor or something. read more

I am so disappointed at the customer service this Bloomingdales store in Glendale lacks. Although, there may be other sales persons In that store that care the ones I encountered yesterday did not. Even the security guard was kind and welcoming as I came into the store!! I came in with the intention of purchasing a pair of polarized sunglasses as they were highly recommended by my optometrist. When I came to the sunglasses department there were two ladies having conversation which I unfortunately interrupted. I excused myself and told them I needed assistance in finding a pair of polarized sunglasses and the one lady said to look that all sunglasses with a "p" were polarized. I was a bit taken back on the response I expected her assistance. Needless to say, I was highly bothered by their lack of assistance when I needed it. I should have gone to Nordstrom instead. Never have I experienced lack of customer assistance at a Nordstrom as I did at this Bloomingdales. I don't know what these ladies think, that they have a job as a sales lady to stand around and speak in their Armenian language and ignore the customers?? Martha came to the rescue, a kind, caring woman, she is a stylist there. She tried to make situation better but my experience was already ruined by the two characters who know nothing about customer service. Kudos to Martha!! I appreciated her kindness. Another Egyptian sales lady came and explained to me that they were new that this is why they didn't help me. To me this is a very poor excuse. If they lack the customer service skills, why even get into retail? Anyway, enough said, this experience left a sour taste that will take some time to disappear. Only leaving the one star cause I have no choice. Why do Bloomingdales hire SNOBS?? Is this a plus?? I usually am not one to write reviews but I wanted to highlight my experience with this location and, particularly, one sales rep. I was casually looking at sunglasses and Mida came and asked if I needed help. I didn't know what I wanted so she helped me try on different looks and really made me feel confident with all the styles. She was so pleasant and extremely helpful. The worst customer service ever! I went shopping for a new perfume and I was treated like I couldn't afford one. Employees acted like they owned the entire company, and were very rude. Every time I asked for suggestion or a sample they were rolling their eyes or telling me they do not do perfume samples basically smell it here buy it and leave. What happened to customer service? I went in today attempting to get an MCM bag either replaced or repaired but instead the "manager" told me to take it to a shoe store in Pasadena. What? It's a leather bag that I've had just about 7 months and it has wear and tear. He smugly told me "I can't help you, no I won't help you." I didn't get his name. All I can say is that he was a White man maybe in his 50s and wore glasses, wearing a cheap looking light gray striped suit that for whatever reason he found it necessary to tell me that his suit was expensive. Didn't look expensive though. Oh well, I was definitely disappointed and felt dismissed. Bloomingdales needs to take some lessons from Nordstrom. I visit Bloomingdales in Glendale often and love the selections they have in every department. Especially their Fragrances & Fine Jewelry. But, more important than the selections there, are the people who represent the products. CHRISTINE Mikhail is the representative at Creed. She is always a pleasure and always so helpful and knowledgeable about the perfume. I have purchased several scents and am just in love with the product. But to be honest it's more because of Christine and how she explains the different scents and provides me with a sample to see how I Iike the smell on my skin. I really appreciate her time and her knowledge and how she's always so patient and a pleasure to talk to. SEABO Karapetian in Fine Jewelry always goes above and beyond to help me find what I am looking for. He is knowledgeable, patient, kind and always ready to help show me what they have and lets me know about special offers. First time trying the order online and pick up in store service, and I think it's okay. If you are in a rush though...I recommend you to just buy in store hahaha. The whole process takes about 2 hours - from ordering to ready to pickup. I was on a rush so I ordered before i started to drive, and it took me around 1.5 hours to get there. By the time I got to the pickup counter, it was 2 hours. It wasn't ready like right away, and I was told that the wait may be another 2 hours. Then I was thinking...so what's the point of me ordering online? Anyway, when I was about to walk away, I got the text and the order is ready! The whole experience was not too bad. We went today to buy a hat and a wallet and when we walked in we saw a Burberry hat as we entered from the door at the parking lot. We wanted to check out the ones from the Gucci store too so we took the hat to the Gucci store which is located IN Bloomingdales and as were shopping this older lady with short blond hair comes in and snatches the hat off my hand and says I cant have it in the Gucci store. Then she has the guts to follow us around the store like we're trying to steal something. Bloomingdale's is very slick, glitzy. It's easy to get lost amidst the glitter and mirrors. After a few visits and comparison shopping trips, I've noticed Bloomies offers a wider and better selection of clothing than Nordstrom's at the Americana. The service is comparable -- I've had great help, pushy help and sad help -- you know, the kind that doesn't put the clothes back together on the hanger, the kind of help that drags the belt to a 375$ dress on the floor. The loyalist plan is currently not as attractive as Nordstrom's notes so shop around. read more
