I had a very disappointing customer service experience at Marshalls on June 9, 2026. I purchased an item on May 9, 2026, and returned it today, exactly 30 days later. During the return process, the cashier, Margaret, informed me that my refund could only be issued on a gift card rather than being returned to my original payment method. When I asked why, her response was, "I don't know, it didn't give me an option to return it to your card," while turning the screen toward me. She then suggested that "maybe it's because you bought it from Pasadena." Excuse me--what? As someone who worked in retail for over 12 years, I have never heard of a policy where an item purchased at another store location automatically prevents a refund from being returned to the original payment method. The explanation made no sense and felt like she was simply making up reasons rather than providing an accurate answer. I then asked whether a manager could override the transaction. Margaret told me there was no option to do so. However, when I requested to speak with a manager, she contacted someone over the walkie-talkie, provided my receipt information, and suddenly my refund was able to be processed back to my original payment method. How convenient. What made this experience particularly frustrating was not the initial issue itself, but the inconsistent information and lack of transparency. If there was a legitimate reason for the problem, I would have understood. Instead, I was given multiple explanations that appeared inaccurate, followed by a quick resolution once management became involved. I also noticed that Margaret seemed extremely stressed and preoccupied with break or clock-out timing. I understand retail can be demanding, and I generally give retail employees the benefit of the doubt because I've spent many years working in customer service myself. However, customers should not be given misleading information simply because a situation is inconvenient or because an employee is trying to end a transaction quickly. I rarely submit complaints because I know how challenging retail work can be. However, this interaction was unnecessarily frustrating and could have been avoided with honest communication and better customer service. read more

It's not like we need anything more for our house but it's sure fun to browse through this store. The shelves were full of everything under the sun but we had our eyes on all the cool Halloween decorations that were available. My daughter ended up buying many glass cups that were marked down really low almost giving them away. read more

Holiday Heaven! All the Christmas home decor and gift wrapping you could possibly want. Some limited Hanukkah decor available too. Elevator was used a lot by the associates moving merch around so expect to use stairs. Loved all of the hair accessories but the section is not near a mirror, why!? Indoor slippers' collection can be improved if it was unisex or had more masculine styles for the whole family. It was basically all ladies' styles. Picked up a cute sweater for only $16! Score! Just checked out of this store and had the worst service. MERI, didn't really understand what I was telling her. I wanted to add change to my card so it's and even $44. She said 'Slide the Card.' Avoid!! The line will take you 20 mins to wait. Only 2 of the 7 cashiers open. Randomly a cashier decided she was no longer open although her light was on. Not worth it, go to another location. Also the cashiers stopped working to look at a car crash. read more

I needed a visor and stopped at Ross first, they only had one so I purchased it. I thought because Marshalls is in walking distance I would just run in and see what selections they offered, if any. Initially, I didn't feel the need to yelp this particular store but as soon as I walked in and noticed how clutter free and fully stocked this store was, I knew people should avoid the Ross and just head on over Marshalls. I've been there many times before and it is really rare to have a person working there smile at you or ask you if you need any kind of help. But today was the exception. At closing time today as a cashier I had Ana helping out, extremely attentive and happy and helpful, she really made my day. That's why I decided to give four stars this time. Located right on the corner of Brand and Broadway. Parking is either metered on Brand or can park for free for 90 minutes in the structure the block behind the complex. This is a 2 story location that has a decent selection of goods, though space is a bit limited in the aisles upstairs. The employees are typically friendly, but the biggest issue with this location is how staff is allocated. There ALWAYS seems to be a long, slow, line to check out. Having been here multiple times on different days/times, there has always been a wait, often with only one cashier. On weekends, the line will be even longer and they may have only 3 cashiers. So hopefully one day the management will better allocate staff and maybe have an extra cashier once they see the checkout line start to build. Goods are typically well organized and not scattered all over such as other locations. read more

I'm glad I found this place. The one downside of it though, is the parking situation. It's not really clear where to park. There are lots in the neighborhood but a lot of them don't validate so you have to kind of test your luck a little bit on this. I will say the establishment was very clean. Everything was neatly displayed. It's a smaller store it seems like, I went specifically for a carry-on bag and there were only three or four available. Not sure if it was because of shortages or if they just don't typically carry that many. In any event, I had to ask an employee a question about returns and she was very helpful, as well as being very pleasant to deal with as well. When I went to the checkout counter, there was about seven people in front of me, which made me cringe. But then I noticed that there were five or six cashiers. The line only took about two minutes to get through and I was out the door very quickly. This is such a stark contrast between their competitor, Ross. Funny enough, right after I left Marshall's, I actually went directly upstairs to Ross to see if they had any carry-on luggage. They did have more of a selection but the choices were horrible, stylistically. I didn't end up buying anything from them and on my way out I noticed that the line was really really long and it was only one cashier working. I felt bad for the people waiting in that line. WOW this is the biggest Marshall's I have been to! After a much needed mani and pedi, My friend introduced me to this Marshalls which I plan to visit real soon! They have elevators and never ending sections of so many wonderful selections. The staff is super friendly and they were adding more stock as we shopped! read more

I hardly shop at Marshall's so I was pleasantly surprised! This is a two-story business. The cashiers are on the first floor, the second floor has work out items, home goods, and clothes. I was really happy that there are so many fun dog items here. Who knew?!?! Some things are good and other things can be improved. Their array of selection is decent for a store of this size but the quality isn't always top-notch. They carry all the top brands in their price category, but a good 35-40% of the products are the less desirable styles. If you can afford to pay $5 -$15 more, you can get the top-selling styles from places like Nordstrom Rack. For the most part, the employees there are friendly. I haven't had any issues with any of them. There are good deals upstairs with accessories but you'll have to get past a bit of disarray depending on what time of the day you're shopping. read more

In terms of Marshalls in the area, this is the best one yet if you're looking for designer clothes & shoes. I read about the opening on la.racked.com in which they showed a bunch of designer shoes at this locations so i had to check it out. Overall the store is pretty small but I can appreciate that. I love shopping but I do not love combing through racks & racks of stuff so I can appreciate a compact store with good quality stuff. The shoes & handbags are on the 1st floor. Handbag selection is standard issue, nothing you wouldn't find in any other Marshall's but the shoe collection is on another level! It's small but they have more high end designers than I've ever seen. I spotted Christian Dior, Valentino, Saint Laurent but my jaw dropped when my eyes locked on the only pair of Christian Louboutin's in the store! Thankfully they were my size and naturally I scooped them up. They were more than half off the original price which is still hefty but I wasn't about to leave a pair of Louboutin's on the rack! I happily took myself (and my shoes) upstairs to check out the clothes. Lots of Michael Kors, J Brand, James Perse, etc. The one con is that the dress selection is 2 racks. I'm more of a dress girl than the t-shirt & jeans type so i was pretty saddened by this. In general, the 2nd floor was pretty well organized but again, small. I purchase a lot of gym clothes from Marshalls because I go through them so fast. Either they rip or fade so I don't like to spend too much on these items as the turn over rate is kinda high :) This location had a nice sized selection of gym clothes - better than most Marshall's. All in all I would highly recommend visiting this new location in Glendale. read more

I love this location because it has two stories and it is so much cleaner than the locations in Pasadena, Monrovia or West Covina. At this location you don't have as many people crowding you out of their aisles with their carts and their loudness. It feels most of the customers in this area are more affluent, maybe that is why this location feels more comfortable to shop at. read more

I come to this location at least once a week. Yesterday I purchased some air tight food storage containers (4 to be exact) along with many other items totaling nearly $300. This morning I went to return one since it had a crack. Cashier asked me if I bought it that way or caused the crack. I said I believe I purchased that way because my other ones were fine. She then refers me to blonde haired manager who asks me the same question. I answer the same way and she says "I don't think we sold it to you that way we don't put things like that on the shelves" to which I replied "so you're saying I'm lying then?" This post is strictly for the horrible customer service given by the manager. I went in to return a bottle of shampoo and conditioner and was told that since I used it that they can't return it. Ok... no big deal it was only $13 bucks. I told them to just chuck it. The reason why I'm writing a post is because of the condescending tone the manager took with me after I asked why the policy wasn't stated on my receipt? I didn't push for my money or a credit, I just simply wanted to know why the policy about hair products wasn't explained to me when I made the purchase. I looove Marshall's and I'm usually there once a week. This was my first time at this location and I will NEVER be back at this location. Everything at this location is totally disorganized and the staff is extremely unfriendly they never smile and they never ask if you need assistance on anything. Their selection is very small and you cannot find any items at this location. The parking is approximately two blocks away and you have to pay for parking unless you are there for under 90 minutes. I tried to return an item from another location and they acted like I stole the item because the item numbers matched their store WTF!!! This is my first time to ever set foot at this store. They did not allow me to return the item and said to go there. The assistant manager is very foul and condescending. This is the worst customer service I have ever experienced!! On top of that, I get home and my highlighter palette is broken and unusable! The cashier didn't even bother to verify if the items were in good condition upon selling the item to me. The item is sealed so there is no way I could have checked myself. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION!!! They have so much stuff here, and it's cheaper than the other stores like Ross and tj maxx I found a bunch of brand name clothes for really cheap prices. I'm coming here instead of Ross now lol The only complaint I have is that I came here about 30 mins before closing and the employees are literally trying to kick me out lol kind of rude but it's all good I'm not a whinny person. I love coming to Marshall's for pet items! Occasionally I'll shop in the shoes or clothing section but mainly for my dogs. I always find good deals for them. From beds to clothes to treats to poop bags and etc. Also, the employees are friendly, when you walk in, you're greeted a welcome and when you walk out, you're greeted a thank you for coming in and to come back again. And when they're walking around, they'll ask you if you need help or finding anything/everything OK. Especially when you're at checkout. read more

In my last visit, the cashier failed to remove the security tag which I purchased the night before my mom's flight. THIS REVIEW IS BASED OFF OF MY EXPERIENCE WITH ONE EMPLOYEE BY THE NAME OF RAFFI. I recently bought a pair of shoes at a different Marshall's location. They were only $11, after further inspection at home I realized why they were so inexpensive. They had some wear showing and I decided I would return them. I went in to this Glendale location and was told by RAFFI that they would not except the return because the shoes had been worn. I proceeded to tell him that was the condition they were in when I purchased them and that had to be the reason they were so inexpensive. He rudely laughed and said they absolutely would not accept the return even though I had the receipt and it was the day after they were purchased. To be clear I wasn't even being helped by him initially he took it upon himself to get behind the female associate that was doing my return, and he is not a manager so he was very much just wanting to be involved in my transaction. He proceeded to analyze and inspect every article with the rest of my return. I then asked him if he always barged in on another associates transactions or if he was just needing to be rude. He again rudely laughed and said "no it's fine I'll do what I want" at that point I got on the phone with the corporate office as I was still being "helped" and luckily spoke with someone that got the manager down to handle the situation. Once she told him that I may return the shoes he once again took it upon himself to do my return and with a snide look on his face kept running his mouth about how I shouldn't buy shoes in this condition and that they would not be returning shoes like that in the future. I wanted to punch him in his stupid face. That is not how a customer is supposed to feel when dealing with any situation in a huge retail store like Marshalls. I will never return to this store and advise anyone thinking of shopping here to go elsewhere and I hope he is removed from any position where he deals with the general public. read more
