Nice store, plenty of parking. Unique customer service. They were fighting over who was helping my husband. I don't think they realized I could hear them. The women's bathroom is on the second floor in the women's section. It was clean and there were several stalls. Unfortunately they only get a 1 start because they left the security sensor on. Thus we can't wear the item. We live 2 hours away and we aren't planning on returning to the area anytime soon and there isn't another Bloomingdale's near us. We only noticed the sensor was still on when we got home. Unfortunately it didn't beep when we left the store. Now we don't know what our options are since we live so far away. This review is more for the Barbour Women's Beadnell Polarquilt Coat than Bloomingdale's. Very functional and warm in the winter when the temperature is in the 40s and high 30s. All I need is a light sweater under my jacket. Doesn't look bulky. It's water-resistant but not water-proof. I bought the olive green but I like the black, as well, because it's so neutral... I'm not about to buy two jackets though because one is good enough. I recently bought a couple of Burberry jackets but they're basically luxury fashion, and I wore those in the Fall and plan to wear in the Spring. Or indoors. I more recently bought a Marmot down parka for when the temperatures falls below 32 because Barbour needs more layering if it's below freezing. This is for the most part to wear at higher elevation. read more

I had a disappointing experience at the Bloomingdale's perfume section. I was looking for my wedding perfume and asked for two samples so I could test which scent would last longer on my skin. The sales associate looked at me and said she could only give me one. I've never heard of a limit on samples--especially when I was genuinely interested in purchasing a full-size bottle. My husband and I were browsing shoes at Bloomingdale's, and I had been eyeing some Dior shoes for a while. It just so happened they were on sale that weekend! Joseph Pham was incredibly helpful in finding the right size and color to make sure I'd love my new purchase. Although the size and color I needed weren't in stock, he located them at another Bloomingdale's and arranged for expedited shipping to my home. The woman working at the Emporio Armani men's floor was extremely rude. I was about to purchase a couple of items and was still browsing when she started treating me like I was trying to steal something. I had tried on a pair of jeans and, like any normal customer, left them in the fitting room -- which is standard practice in most stores. She kept questioning why I didn't bring the jeans back to the section myself. Because of her attitude, I decided not to buy anything and will shop online instead to avoid dealing with people like this. This was my favorite store, but because of this experience, I will never purchase anything here again. I hope Bloomingdale's pays more attention when hiring staff in the future. read more

A very knowledgeable individual on the Tom Ford private blends fragrances, Josh went out of his way to spray cards and fill decants for us to test. He went far and beyond any sales rep. Josh knew the note breakdowns as well as the fragrance history. He even took the time to write out the name of the fragrances on the cards for us to remember. I forgot my purses at home (not the first time) so of course I needed one since we were in town for a week! We don't have too many Bloomingdale's in NorCal. Three in the Bay Area only. This is one of the three located in Stanford Shopping Center, Palo Alto. A very nice high-end department store. This department store has many high-end labels they carry on the sales floor. The decorations are very beautiful. The layout of the store is colorful but comfortable. The store is not very crowded. Excellent shopping experience! I can always find a salesperson not far away in every section of the store. They're nice, friendly, and ready to help when you needed. This is not easy to get in other stores anymore! This is one of the best stores if you're shopping the high-end name-brand items. Very surprised with costumer service. I was planning to buy man watch Longines. There was 2 watches $2,300 and $3,000. Not a small purchase. With mask on and glasses, it was little bit difficult because optical glasses started to fogging. The lady told me to hurry up because she has to go. Consumers have a choice when shopping. The expectation of transparency, honesty, and collegiality are simply par for the course these days. In light of this, Bloomingdales needs to step up their game or suffer the consequences in lost revenue. A dress I had bought went on sale for the friends and family discount, but the "customer service supervisor" treated me like anything BUT a friend or family by telling me I was not eligible for the discount. Despite the dress being available, she misinformed me that It was not. I will just order it online, but make this my last purchase from Bloomingdales. This is a review for Bloomingdale's @ Stanford Mall. On Wednesday @ approx 530 pm my son was shopping in the store when he was hostily approached from behind by an employee (Oscar) who shouted "are you going to pay for that!?" To which my son replied, "oh yes, do I need to pay in the same section because I'm still shopping"? The employee rudely replied "you need to pay for that, you need to check-out right now"! I don't understand this type of behavior and I don't understand why my son was being questioned or spoken to like that - isn't the standard question "hello sir, can I help you find something?". This was definitely not that and this was very upsetting and insulting! Bloomingdale's needs to teach employees common courtesy and professionalism. For an upscale store with a sub-par employee (Oscar), is this a policy or protocol that you follow - to ask a paying customer (who is a loyalty rewards member!) if they are planning to pay for something? This is not ok! If I was with my son, would we have had the same experience - or do you plan to continue questioning young shoppers because you think they are all thieves????????? My son spoke to a store manager (Mo) who took his name and number down...no follow up, no apology. Useless! BTW, please keep in mind - the item he was shopping for and holding in his hand....men's boxer briefs. Are you really stopping a teenager shopping for boxers???? The Worst customer service I had today Bloomingdale at Stanford shopping center! December 15 , Sunday around Noon time, I was insulted and intimidated by two young sales people at Theory counter today. They were the rudest( one was named Keisha or geisha, another one persistently refused to give me her name ). I was tired today12/15 from going to grocery shopping before I came to Bloomie , so I probably put down my return item a little loudly on their counter and that was a big mistake! Oh boy, the two sales girls were immediately turned nasty, demanding I stand in line behind just one customer before me. When I asked her I am not allowed to stand by the counter , she said NO. and then Keisha accused me that I had a bad attitude. Her sidekick sales girl was not any better. They both teamed up immediately by calling another like minded colleague who came over and only defended her friends and immediately called security guy! What have I done to them to be pushed and insulted by them and being threatened with the security person? I was just confused and frustrated about the way they served the customer like me. I felt these 3 women were the most insolent and rudest sales people I ever met. They were accusing me of My attitude (complaint about the customer's attitude! ) to them and they were acting like they were teaming up to accuse me. The girl who refused to give her name was wagging her finger at me and accused me falsely that I was too close to her face. I could not believe her exaggerated lie! In the end, I could not win their criticizing and hostile behaviors towards me. Instead of working out with the customer about the problem solving with a bit of courtesy, they immediately solved the problem by threatening and calling burly security guy to kick me out of the store! I have never been treated by sales staff with this horrible way before, especially like from store like Bloomingdale! The sales women and burly security guy followed me around and harassed me not to shop and to escort me out of the store as if I am a criminal! I live in Palo Alto, and I have been patronizing Bloomingdale as a frequently shopping customer for last 30 years. However I will definitely want to cancel my all credit cards that is anything to do with Bloomingdale. If they keep having these self righteous and hostile and threatening sales people threatening with security guard, I will not give any business to Bloomingdale's. Did they ever hear about Customer Service in their training? Im wondering about their so called customer service procedure. When I said I will cancel the Bloomingdale store card, sales girl who later joined immediately said " yes, go ahead Cancel it! Wow! I'm Asian and may be they thought I was an easy push over the way they treated me.. All they did was just were teaming up together and calling the security guy was their easy solution instead of respect and patience towards customers . In the end they escorted me out of the store just because these sale girls said I had a bad attitude for them. I have never experienced such a humiliating experiences in my life! On February 15, 2023, my mom bought me a beautiful gold & diamond bracelet for $550. Since then, the bracelet ripped three separate times on the slightest pulls. The first time the bracelet ripped, I went to get it fixed by a professional jeweler and was not upset as incidents happen. I was still a bit shocked it ripped in the first place as nothing really even happened to it. It then happened again, and again I got it fixed. At that point I knew there was something probably wrong with the piece, but decided to give it another chance. The third time it ripped I knew this product was 100% defective and decided to return it. Please note I understand how important care is for jewelry and I take pride in how I treat my collection. I have lots of solid gold pieces, and never have I had such a bad quality piece of jewelry. For more context, it is the Bloomingdales brand. My mom and I brought it to the store with a receipt, and the manager (Sam) was short and rude with us, telling us it was past the 90 days so it had to be our fault. This makes no sense with jewelry. First of all, a good chain will not rip easily, I have far daintier bracelets which I wore on the same wrist as the defective one and they have all stood the test of time. This is embarrassing for Bloomingdales, both on a product quality level and a customer service level. We have been long time shoppers at this establishment, and after this experience I will no longer support this antiquated, over priced, lousy excuse for a high end department store. It should have been a straight forward return with no hassle. When a product is defective, you issue an exception and provide a return. This is not me asking for special treatment, this is me expecting a reasonable customer service experience. As tempting as the buyers are making Bloomingdale's online, the in store experience is not matching it with the appalling lack of service. The first few times I assumed it was me or something I did. However, my husband tried to shop here, everyone loves him, and it was horrible. The two elderly sales women in the David Yurman section today 2-10-24 at 1p PT, were horrifyingly rude. There was literally no one in the store as it was Super Bowl Sunday. We quietly were pointing out a few items he liked, and stood by the case. For 10 minutes they did not acknowledge us. When I went to ask politely if we could see something, the lady did not look up and mumbled she was doing something and would be there shortly. She proceeded to take 5 minutes more pushing paper around, and then said absolutely nothing for the 6 minutes she begrudgingly helped him see 3 pieces. Her face was extremely annoyed and the most sour I had ever seen. The online promotional offers at Bloomingdale's are outrageously unfair. I placed an order that came with free items "while supplies last" on the first day of the promotion and got a message that the order had shipped but that promotional item is not available. Instead, I was offered a 20% discount on my next online order within 30 days. Lots of problems with this. First, don't promote items you don't have enough of on the first day (!), that is false advertisement even with a disclaimer. Second, it's entrapment because I have to spend more money to use my "compensatory" discount, and within 30 day limit. Third, the Customer Service suggested that a physical store may still have that item, I should go and check it out. I would think this is their job - to check where the item is available and send it to me in a separate package; after all, there is a reason I shop online. Fourth, the site still advertises the unavailable item. And when my friend tried to place an order with the same promotion, the unavailable item without a problem was put into her cart! Plain and simple - it is a scam! Anyway, this order will be returned, online, and shopping will be done at Saks. Good buy, Bloomingdale's! read more

I had the worst customer service experience in the women's shoe department on 2/18/23. After waiting a while for someone to help me, an employee named Joseph finally asked if i needed any help. I asked for a shoe size and he mentioned how he had gotten a small stock of the shoe i wanted and that it has been sold out since November. He left to get the shoes and after 20 minutes, wondering if he had forgotten or if maybe he had just gotten really busy, i saw him walking away through the cosmetics department. He turned around briefly and we made eye contact. He turned back around and continued to walk away. I went to the register and waited for a female employee to acknowledge me as I knew she was assisting another customer. She ignored me until another man came to the register and asked if i had been helped. I let him know that someone has told me he'd bring a pair of shoes for me to try on and that he never came back. I described the employee to him and the female employee who hadn't acknowledged me walked past me and blurted our "he went on break" and continued to walk past me. I asked for the employee's name and the man said he "didn't know." I kindly asked again for his name he he said his name was "Miguel." I later found out that his name was actually Joseph. I couldn't believe this was the kind of customer service they were providing to their customers. Itruly felt like they only cared for other customers who looked like they had more money or were of a certain race. I left truly upset and shaking. I not only would not recommend this department, I would tell people to shop elsewhere. read more

Bloomingdales used to have an excellent fitter in the intimate apparel dept. I dropped by and the 2 women had not idea how to fit me and one finally said they were both from other depts. So I called to find out the hrs for a fitting. I was hung up on 3 times after long waits. I finally called the ex. dept who checked with the dept and got me connected to a live person. I asked if she was a fitter and she hesitatedI said, I only need to know if you are an experienced fitter. She said no. After all that!!! I called Nordstrom, got right through to a VERY helpful person. She gave me the name of the fitter, took my name, and # so she could call me back and make an appointment. Guess that is my last Bloomingdales visit! read more

It's really astonishing how, in the age of department stores dying off, Bloomingdale's can get away with the complete lack of customer service it offers. I traversed all three floors with a complete intent to purchase - and I plan to grab that Voluspa Pumpkin Latte candle from someone else, for sure - but I couldn't get a single person to even acknowledge me. The ladies at the skincare and fragrance counters seem to love congregating at the Jo Malone area chatting away the day, and the men on Level 3 just fold and fold without saying a word. When I contacted Bloomingdale's on Twitter over my experience - a recurring one in their San Francisco store as well - I was told to expect a phone call from someone at the store. While a phone call did come, I was unable to answer and returned the call later on, leaving a message in hopes of touching base. It's been nearly a week with no response back. Ironically enough, I found one of the items I was looking for at Bloomingdale's sister store Macy's, where the ladies at the Clinique counter were more than happy to help. Go figure. read more
