I ordered a watch strap from Cartier in April 2026 and was told it would take 4-6 weeks to arrive. After waiting two months, I called the boutique twice to check on the status. Each time, I was simply told they didn't have it yet, with no estimated arrival date or follow-up. I also texted my sales associate but never received a response. Eventually, I had to contact Cartier customer service, who sent a message to the boutique on my behalf. Only then did the boutique call me back to say my watch strap had actually been there the whole time and was be "misplaced" in another bin. To make matters worse, when I went to pick it up after waiting over three months, it wasn't even the correct color. Instead of resolving the issue, they offered to order yet another strap or sell me a different color they already had in stock, which I wasn't interested in. It's was over three months since I placed the order, and I was the one who had to repeatedly follow up before anyone realized my order was sitting in the store. I've always had a really fun experience dressing up and acquiring pieces at this Cartier. I've never had issues as of late walking in and making a pickup, which is a massive difference vs. some of the other fine jewelry brands at Stanford where it's impossible to get an appointment for no reason at all. Top tier service! Vanessa was amazing, helpful, and friendly. She was accommodating with all the items we tried in and wanted to see. We didn't feel rushed at all. I won't lie, it was my first time in Cartier and I was a little intimidated and nervous but we were greeted with a huge warm smile from Vanessa. She offered us drinks as soon as we walked in, I had champagne and my friend had sparkling water. She wasn't pushy about anything and just let us enjoy our time. The selection this location has was vast. The store is very well maintained and smells great when you walk in. All the staff was friendly. Vanessa even made us matching friendship bracelets! Tbh, all my experiences with Cartier have been lovely except for that one fateful day in SJ. May I never come across that one individual ever again.... We came in recently with the sole focus of scoping out wedding bands and got paired with Jennifer as our SA. She was so welcoming and knowledgeable. I thought she was extremely bubbly and also made the experience light and fun - exactly how all things wedding-related should be right?! I stopped by the other day in the evening with my sister. She was looking for an engagement ring that fits her lifestyle. I did not make an appointment and we waited a few minutes before a representative come to help us. While waiting, I asked to see an agenda or pocket planners if they had any. Unfortunately they only had one desk agenda for me to see. I was told to check online, but I wanted to see these in person before purchasing online. Florence came to help us. I told Florence that my sister is looking for a minimal look. Something not flashy. I was looking at wedding bands for my sister but Florence made a suggestion and it was perfect for her! This is a nice, standard Cartier store at the mall. It is, however, infuriating that one cannot drop a watch for repair or pick it up without an appointment booked days in advance. If you happen to be at the mall and actually have a second to pick up what's rightfully yours, they do not have staff to hand it to you. I don't wear jewelry other than my watch so I didn't know much about Cartier's jewelry prior to my appointment at the Palo Alto store. I watched a YT video on the history of Cartier prior to my visit and was surprised it was a family-owned business spanning 150 years before turning into an international brand and eventually becoming a wholly owned subsidiary of the Swiss Richemont Group. The appointment was on a Saturday and the store was buzzing and filled with people. I can see the appeal of the atmosphere, the tea and champagne, the salesperson interaction etc. I thought the Panthere ring was cool and unique but went home with the Love ring in platinum as planned. I had never thought of making an appointment at this location since I had an SA at the VF location but she was long gone since a couple years ago so I decided to schedule through the website. After picking a date and time and providing descriptions of what I was looking for, I was basically set up with Alice and she reached out to me for further info on sizing/preferences etc. We exchanged a couple calls before my actual appt and I didn't expect too much out of it. On the day of, we checked in with the security at the front and I got to meet Alice in person. I had told her I wanted to look at love bracelets but didn't know if I should choose the small or regular size. She took out a bunch of options for me and let me try them on one by one and together. She didn't rush me at all and I didn't feel like I had to make a decision right then and there. After trying on the bracelets, she asked if I was interested in trying anything else. I decided to try on some juste un clou rings and bracelets and they were just beautiful!!! To be honest, I just wanted to get everything but that would not have been the best idea haha! I ended up walking away with the small juste un clou and I just love how dainty it is. I didn't decide on the love bracelet until the next appointment but we kept in touch via text and the whole process was so easy and seamless! Today, I experienced the worst service I have ever encountered since I began shopping for luxury goods, specifically at the Cartier Stanford Shopping Center. The manager on duty, whose first name is Sulyman, was by far the rudest and least professional sales manager I have ever interacted with. I was visiting a friend in the Bay Area when, after brunch, I stopped by the shopping mall and came across the Cartier store. To my great surprise, I found that a watch I had long wished for was available in stock. Excited, I went in to take a closer look and immediately decided to purchase it. The sales associate informed me that another customer had viewed the watch earlier that morning but had not yet decided whether to purchase it. They told me the item was being held for that customer. Despite this, I expressed my strong intent to buy the watch and even paid the full price upfront to demonstrate my commitment. I was then told to return at 6:30 p.m. to see if the other customer had decided; if not, the watch would be mine. Otherwise, they would refund me. Frankly, this arrangement was already extremely inconvenient and disrespectful. As a visitor to the area with a tight schedule, expecting me to return within a narrow 30-minute window before store closing (at 7 pm) was unreasonable. Later that day, around 5:00 p.m., I returned to the store, as another urgent commitment had arisen at 6:00 p.m. that would prevent me from coming back at 6:30 p.m. I explained my situation and reiterated that, given I had paid in full and shown more commitment than the indecisive customer, I should be prioritized. It was clear to me that the store then contacted the other customer to inform them of my interest and payment, which likely prompted them to finalize their decision to purchase. Ultimately, I was rudely turned away by the manager, Sulyman. This experience left me feeling deeply disrespected and discriminated against as a visiting customer compared to a local one. I firmly believe the store used my upfront payment to create a sense of urgency for the local customer, while disregarding my commitment and convenience. As a visitor, they assumed: I would likely not be able to return by 6:30 p.m., making it easier for them to complete the sale with the local customer; I had no long-term value to the store, and thus they could afford to treat me poorly without concern for future business. I explicitly raised these concerns with Sulyman, arguing that both customers should be treated equally. Given that I showed a higher level of commitment--viewing the watch, paying in full immediately, and making an additional trip in person--it was only fair that I be given priority. Instead of acknowledging my concerns, Sulyman was dismissive and disrespectful, stating rudely, "I'm just telling you the watch is not there for you," "If you don't want to wait until 6:30, just get your refund," and "If you want to escalate this case, feel free, but I won't tell you how to escalate." My husband and I made two trips to the store and invested significant time and energy trying to complete this purchase. Yet we were treated with disdain and arrogance, without even a basic apology for the inconvenience caused. It was clear throughout the process that the store favored the local customer and did not uphold the principles of fairness or customer respect. I believe that items placed on hold should require a commitment from the holding party--certainly more than a vague verbal assurance--especially if it comes at the cost of another paying customer's money, time, effort, and experience. read more

I purchased a new style all diamond love bracelet direct from a Cartier boutique. Ever since I got it, the bracelet has had problems. I've sent it back to the boutique repeatedly and tried to fix it. Every time it was returned "fixed". But the problem has consistently remained. I brought it back to the Palo Alto store yet again. This time to my shocking surprise, they want to charge me $8k to replace it since they claim they can't fix it anymore. When I told them I needed to talk to the highest management level, even up to North America corporate, they kept telling me someone will be contacting me. Now almost half a year later , still no response and no resolution. I don't have my bracelet either. First of all, this was clearly a defective piece. It has a record and history of problems. Secondly, they even admit the bracelet needs to be replaced, it is clearly a manufacturing defect. Changing to a new bracelet for me for all the time/trouble i went through , without charging me (as well as to comply with California consumer protection laws). Considering no diamond was missing, everything was attached, this was a "lemon". The quality is bad, the customer service is almost non-existant, Please don't buy from Cartier and think twice again before purchasing anything else from them! read more

Originally I was looking at the bracelet in clash collection. Ying was patient and let me tried on different sizes. She also recommended me to try on the love as well as the juste un clou bracelets. The juste un clou bracelet with diamond in yellow gold truly made my white skin tone shine and I don't even want to take it off. I had to sit down, compare, took a photo and asked my hubby in order to make a final decision. I've seen juste un clou bracelet in photos before, but can't believe how beautiful it is until I tried it on. I guess that's why it's a classic piece. Never goes out of the style. My friends and I have never had such a bad Cartier experience as we've had at this location. We usually go to other boutiques around the US as well as Europe and have had nothing but positive experiences. This one was the exception. The four of us set out to purchase matching bracelets and wanted to do so at this location as we were nearby. This was on a Sunday afternoon around 3 to 4pm. However, one employee in particular made us change our minds, and we won't be coming back to this location as a result. This employee, an older Caucasian woman with short hair, treated us with nothing but disrespect. We wanted to try two types of bracelets. One of them was the Trinity Cord bracelet for which we wanted to see the color options of the cord. She answered that we have to purchase it first before she can show it to us. In what store would you buy something before seeing it first? It's unbelievable. We then wanted to try the other bracelet. She did not seem in the mood at all to make us try them, but eventually obliged. The moment we tried them on and put them down again she, condescendingly, said "SO. Are you going to buy them??". Furthermore, one of my friends wanted to get the strap of her existing Cartier watch replaced and was curious to see what leather straps they had. This employee did not want to show her anything and only said "Which one do you want? We'll ship it to you". As four young adults from Asian descent, we've never felt so racially discriminated. Never were we taken seriously by this employee and were essentially treated like trash. Not to mention she had security follow us around everywhere we went. Avoid this place at any cost. We arrived at Cartier and unfortunately there was only one sales associate on the sale floor despite it being only 10:15 a.m. There was one person making a purchase, then a second salesperson came onto the floor and helped the one customer ahead of us. First time with appointment about a piece I bought, SA seems really really uninterested and acted like I'm bringing in a fake/old piece trying to refund and get money out. But when she came out after checking the piece and my name she started to act really nice and that seems really fake to me... Second time was walk-in.
