My 15 year old son was in some need of some new shoes. With school, being active and being out with friends they get beat up. I hadn't had luck trying to find something he liked not to mention customer service at multiple stores not being helpful (a huge bummer and makes me want to cut shopping short). I just wanted someone to listen to him with what he was looking for. I was recommended Bloomingdale's by a friend and gave it a shot. Once we got there and found the men's shoe section we immediately got offered help by a worker named Isaiah. Oh my goodness, a perfect shopping experience! He was so kind and sweet, helpful and listened. He made the experience feel personal and made us feel comfortable to where we didn't feel like just a customer. The section was very clean and organized making it easy to look around. Time flew by so quick! My son found a pair he absolutely loved that felt good and went with his style perfectly. A complete lack of customer service. I came in to add to my summer wardrobe and pick up a some pants. I was not greeted during my entire visit and Bloomingdale's staff walked past me as if I wasn't there. On my one I found some knit casual jackets and linen shirts from Flaherty; which were nice. Unfortunately they were hung up on thin plastic hangers which marred the shoulders with the stretch-bump. Crossed into an area with Buck Mason clothing, and was finally greeted. 30 minutes after arriving. I gave the employee some shit about not coming over to greet me, like he was trapped in the section. Miles revealed to me that he worked for Buck Mason rather than Bloomingdale's. He then showed me several quality pieces perfect for summer. He introduced me to the brand; which will become a staple for me. read more

Wow, haven't stepped foot at a Bloomingdale's, since my High School days and it was when I went to Washington DC for my very first time. During this visit to Spring Valley Mall, we checked out Bloomingdale's and seeing that little brown bag. bag, it sure brought back memories. We also passed by again for a bathroom break before leaving the mall. It was fun browsing and looking around Bloomingdale's, I came across the Men's Balenciaga shoes and asked the hubby if he wants me to get the shoes for his birthday coming up, he said "NO" he rather go to Vegas, it would either be shoes or trip to Vegas for his gift. hehe. The shoe was priced at $1190.00 for the pair. I was surprised to see, Honolulu Cookie Company boxed cookies are available here, prices aren't bad either. Get them here, if you're missing these cookies from Honolulu. Customer service is non existent. There are many employees walking around but I guess it is too much to greet us or offer to help us find anything. I did ask an employee where the dressing room was and she just pointed in the opposite direction and walked away. I did find a nice dress at a reasonable price but I will most likely not shop here again. read more

This is my favorite Bloomingdales branch. The only downside is they are sometimes out of stock of items so it could be a long wait. It is inconvenient if you are planing a last minute shopping. The staff however are professional and helpful. The top floor has a very unique selection of blazers and business women outfits that can't be found anywhere else. Bloomingdales the place to shop for all your high end products and clothing. This store had some really nice window displays. Looked around the mens clothing and they have some really unique and cool items. Loved the mens velvet blazers in deep purple. One of my favorite looks for and festivity. Male employees in this department were very welcoming and helpful. Greeted us and asked if we were finding everything. At the mens perfume counter the employee was very helpful with our purchase. She also gave suggestions to the r mens cologne we might like. Tested a few on cards and made our final selection. Out of the corner of my eye I noticed they cary Jack Black products for mens beards, so I had to get some. They had a special seasonal package, so I went with that. Got a free sample with purchase, a plus. Found the perfect gift for that bearded someone we have in the family. Plus, he really like the Jack Black products. Shoe department had some really cool shoes and boots. Handbag department was ok. I expected to be blinded by all the blinged out purses with gems and all. I must have been in the wrong section. Didn't find anything that stood out to me or called my name. Maybe next time. 1 Star deducted because you would think in a high end store like this you would at least be greeted at the door when you enter. Not a soul at the entrance. Highly disappointed in the service I received last Friday (Labor Day weekend). I approached the fragrance counter where Dorothy and another lady were working, to test out some newly released fragrances before purchasing. I asked the ladies if they had any samples available because it's always advisable to test by wearing first, but they informed me that they didn't have ANY sample bottles or manufacturers' samples of ANY brand. Of all the brands in front of them that are entrusted to represent, they failed all of them and at their job as sales women. I am a fragrance collector and own over 100 bottles both niche and designer brand, purchased by me throughout the past few years. It's a shame that they chose to treat me poorly and deny me samples. Which by the way miraculously appeared over the weekend when my friend went to the same counter. Shame on them and the management that encourages such behavior. But at the end of the day they lost out on commission. read more

Stopped by this Bloomies while I was waiting for traffic to die down after a hike I'd done earlier. I was warmly welcomed by the staff at the perfume counter and they treated me like a prized customer, even though I'd never been there before and I was dressed in hiking clothes. I left with a bottle of high end perfume and a bunch of free samples created by my fragrance specialist Sarah Bedsole! Definitely go here if you're looking for one of a kind perfume. Sarah asked if I was looking for anything in particular and I immediately asked for Baccarat rouge 540. I tried it two days prior at Bloomingdale's South Coast Plaza and could not stop thinking about it. I fell down a time warp on Perfume TikTok earlier that week and asked Sarah about at least 10 different fragrances I heard smelled good and she took me on a perfume tour of all of these fragrances, the different perfume houses and created samples for the ones that called my name. On top of all of the help from Sarah and the crew, it was also a fun time! It was like I knew Sarah already and she and the others made my friend and I feel like we were exclusive V.I.P customers. I frequent Bloomies South Coast Plaza and while they are always nice and pleasant, I found the Fashion Valley crew to be fun and engaging and will be back. read more

Bloomingdale's seems to have stopped making customer service a priority. We came in about 20 minutes before the store closed. I happened to look at an item in a jewelry cabinet. All displays were full. The lady behind the counter comes running up telling me they are closing soon and she had to take everything out the displays. She couldn't start with one of the 10 other displays I wasn't looking at? Guess she was afraid I might ask to try on a piece and she would make a sale just before closing. read more

Decided to give bloomingdale's a chance due to their enticing discounts and gift card offers. However it was a disastrous idea. 1. False promises--I purchased 2 full-price suits at closing and was assured free basic alteration even if not purchased the same day. However, two days later, when I came in, I was informed the system wouldn't allow it, and I had to call customer service departments. One hour later, finally, the store manager got involved in refunding me what I shouldn't have had to spend an hour of my time doing. 2. Unfair return policy with gift cards - unlike reputable stores they implement a perplexing policy when it comes to returns. If you use a combination of gift card and cash for a purchases and later decide to return 1 ITEM, you're refunded with a percentage of the total purchase back as a gift card and then the remaining amount in cash. This is unlike anywhere I have ever shopped who provide a straightforward refund process. not trying to swindle you into buying more items. SO PURCHASE YOUR MAYBE ITEMS SEPERATELY AND YOUR KEEPER ITEMS USE THE GIFT CARD. 3. Overcharging customers - I was surprised to find out that I was charged more than the labeled price for two items. The store refused to refund the excess amount in cash as the items were already altered. Instead, they issued gift cards that didn't even cover the total cost, as they couldn't include the sales tax. This practice is deceptive, and I can only imagine how many customers don't catch this and are being lied to and stolen from. It seems like they are trying to force customers to keep spending. 4. Deceptive Sales Tactics - The sales associate, Elliot, demonstrated a disregard for honesty by misleading me about the duration of the Friends and Family sale. Despite assuring me that it was only going on for a day or two at most, I later found out that the sale extended for almost two weeks. This lack of transparency undermines the trust customers place in their guidance, leaving me skeptical about their expertise and honesty in recommending suitable purchases. 5. Subpar Service and Theft / Substitution of Items - To make matters worse, I recently bought an Armani suit and was given a high-end Armani Suit bag to go with it. The tailor had reassured me that I could leave the bag with them, as I would get it back along with my suit. However, when I went to pick up my suit, I was given a cheap Bloomingdale's suit bag instead. They informed me that they had run out of Armani bags and could only provide me with the Bloomingdale's alternative. This substitution of items without prior notice or consent is outright theft and unacceptable. This experience was nothing short of disappointing. From false promises to deceptive practices and subpar service, it's evident that they prioritize profit over customer trust and satisfaction. STAY CLEAR OF BLOOMINGDALES. I went in to return some pants that did not fit great on my son. He wasn't with me so decided to try to return for store credit. Then I'd bring him back on the weekend to get a different size. The policy advises I had 90 days and I purchased with my Bloomingdale's credit card. Figured maybe not get refund back to card but a store credit. I purchased pants on 2/28/2022 (exactly 60 days). We don't live that close to this mall so yes too us a while to get back. Just bummed they wouldn't honor what the policy said. I'll think twice about shopping here. I had been looking at them up online, and I knew what I wanted to try on. There was this Asian girl in the department. He just looked at me all crazy, didn't even greet me. Didn't ask me if I needed anything. But she followed me Around the different little cases and then she says, oh can I help you find something as if I was going to try to steal the sunglasses? I caught her vibe immediately. Okay, I came in with my head wrap on which I always wear. I'm an ethnic person. I just came from my workout, so I always wrapped my hair. And this happens to me quite often I think it's shameful, I think just because I'm dressed in my workout clothes, and I'm not in some cutesy little yoga outfit with my matching purse that I am be made to feel that I am being watched, or that I'm being thought. Of in this manner, I have a Bloomingdale's credit card. I don't need to come in there to try to swipe designer sunglasses. Especially at that hour of the night when there's not many people in the store. And there's a d*** alarm on it. So what am I going to do run out the door honestly. Every time I visit this Bloomingdale's, every single person that works in there seems to be super helpful and nice. The environment is relaxed and everything is laid out very nicely. The parking and access to the store is super easy. I have purchased some really nice, higher end brand of clothing for my hubby multiple times from here. The men's department has always been a good go to place for denim for him. They used to sell per-owned Rolex watches but they no longer sell them as they are all sent to the Beverly Center location ( according to the store). I have also returned online purchased to this store, without issue. read more

This place was pretty great to me. I had 2nd thoughts about going due to the reviews. Plus for some reason google told me this place was closed and trying to call in was a fail lol. I drove down anyways because I picked a suit from a different one and was referred to here. I was welcomed here. Believe me when I say the following... "If there's any messed up behavior I will either catch it or pickup on it. It doesn't matter if it's passive aggressive etc etc. I'm a 6ft, medium toned, deceptively big, nice veteran. It's actually why I now go to Bloomingdale's. I've caught it from Macy's in the past then went to Nordstroms and now I'm at bloomingdales." However I did pickup that vibe from a bunch of stuck up customers trying to act like how they think rich people act. One lady was actually nice though... but others. Came in and was actually greeted... in multiple areas. Checked about my suit... went out came back in. More nice people. One gentleman was super courteous to me. The suit area... brooo. Kind of intimidating at first site. They don't play. *Dubs them suit mafia* They're all suited up and it's tailored, well coordinated etc. They spit up and start talking to one there. Again, treatment was top notch. They got the tailor. He was beyond legit. I actually want to tip him. He really educated me on suits, style... in a great manner. Came back out. Another person of the suit mafia helped me out. Tbh I thought she was a mannequin because of how still she was and well dressed. Then she moved. She was also polite, respectful etc. Thanked her. Thanked the other people in the department. It was at some point I realized I had to dial it back because I was thanking people that were just dressed nice as well the staff. Although that person did not mind. From going in to coming out it was nothing but premium treatment. And I walked I. I love the Tory Burch, Kate Spade,MK, CK and Aqua designer brands but they have over maybe 100+ vendor boutique shops or shops-in-shop for a wide array of brands like Gucci, and other high ends. The customer service here is a hit or miss! Oh no biggie for me, besides, I am the kind of shopper that like to walk in, get what I want, and walk out. This review is for the beauty department. I am literally like super obsessed with Laura Mercier. First, they were cruelty free and the basic principle is their makeup line is the flawless finish. I can't live without these: Tinted Oil-Free Moisturizer, Concealer and Loose Setting Powder. I was pleased with my skin after and didn't break out which is rare with a new product, but it just left my skin feeling dewy. For my lippies I love the Chanel and Dior, and Lancome too (love the gifts with purchases) Basically, overall shopping is just OK. Bloomies is an upmarket Macy's. and currently owned by Macy's, Inc. Highly recommend to shop here if you have lots of $$$. A great place to visit, shop and eat (they have a small Cafe/restaurant called 59th & Lex Cafe. It's local hidden gem and they have delicious extensive menu. Yum-O! Lastly, checkout their Nespresso bar you'll be greeted warmly at least. and you can try samples of anything they have in stock. Speaking of stock, the cafe area is nicely stocked with different types of sweeteners, and the cute little cups make sampling coffee seem so high end! I guess one day I have to ditch my Keurig and kick it to the curb! Lol! This location is in the heart of Fashion Valley Mall. Oh Btw, this store is clean, beautifully laid out and I love the iconic black-and-white checkerboard floor. And Love the little brown bags. Quality of the staff at this location has gone downhill like nothing else. Whoever is doing the hiring..it must be slim pickings or they're picking the wrong people for a job that requires not being rude (post pandemic, that's what it has come to, you don't even need to be overly polite, just not actively rude like you're doing me a favor by doing your job), and scanning something into a computer. I was trying to drop off items in a very straight forward, return already pre-processed online return order. The aloof associate couldn't understand the process, couldn't understand the quantity of champagne glasses I was returning even though the order clearly stated 2 pairs. So I explained. Then I explain to her that the refund will already go on my card that I used to order the glasses, my Bloomingdale's account already showed that the amt was being returned to that card. But she still insisted I plug in my card to the cc machine, which of course didn't react to a process that was unnecessary. And not even an acknowledgment that she had no clue what she was doing or perhaps this is new to her, while acting rudely towards me as if me helping her understand the process was annoying her. Honestly, no big deal if you don't know, but acting like you know when you don't and them getting it wrong just makes it worse for yourself. HR and hiring managers at Bloomingdale's, please stop hiring people who don't want customer service jobs, or have resistance to learning. read more

I've been here so many times it's obvious I'm a fan of the store. I like to shop but I like to shop for things that are on sale which is a hit a miss for me sometimes depending on my acquired taste. When I find a sale I feel like I'm getting a bargain or the best deal possible. So I'm very strategic and that I will look up something online and then come in person. Some things I just walk around and browse. Wish they would've had a better plus size section online you can find some of those things however in the store it's a joke if you ask do you have a plus size section and they just look at you like what's that Nevertheless I love the fact that the store has a Nespresso boutique inside but I hate the fact that the lines are usually long and they tend to sell out of a lot of things. If I was in the mood yes I would go to La Jolla or buy online but sometimes I do appreciate the convenience of having the boutique in the same place that I tend to shop but only unless things are readily available. Bloomingdale's as a whole is not responsible for that but then again it is in their store so in some ways they are. Regarding the staff it's hit or miss with them. Some people are really humble and friendly and will approach you or other people tend to look at you as if they have that better than attitude or aura and you could feel it. You won't even get a hi, hello or can I help you from them. My money is just as green as anybody else's and they never know what one has and what they're coming into purchase but the lack of professionalism and lack of care and being courteous can turn people off from the store. It's the same with most high-end stores in general. I like the fact that they always have something on sale. Whether it's luxury or cosmetics. Despite what people think and say they should just come in and check out the prices of things. Although I haven't bought lots of things from here I tend to frequent there purse section, shoes, candles, cosmetics and of course the Nespresso boutique. I'm surprised I haven't reviewed this spot before as I visit it every single time I come to Cali for a work trip (at least 2x annually). I love visiting the shopping mall on Friar's road - Fashion Valley and usually park at the large open-air garage right across from Bloomingdale's and walk through the store to browse on my way to eat and shop. This is a very large store - several stories - with clothing, make-ups, perfume, houseware and a Cafe on the top floor. I was not impressed by the Cafe - FYI - poor and rude service there and sub-par food. I would not return to that. The store itself is large and has a ton of things to see and shop for. You can find whatever you need. I love that they carry several of the organic/natural spray sunscreens I like to use (Supergoop or Coola) so I can stop in here and replenish if I need more while on travel. read more

I entered this location today to purchase myself a pair of Chanel sunglasses. I stayed at the glass cabinet for several minutes trying to get some help and instead of approaching me a salesman just looked in our direction completely ignoring us. I approached a different counter to ask for help when the salesman then decided to acknowledge us. He came over with us to the counter and was beyond rude and condescending. While trying them on he was also very critical of any questions I had. I've never felt so looked down on in a store. I walked to Neiman Marcus and bought the same pair of $500 sunglasses but with much better customer service. read more

It has been FIVE YEARS, yes 5 whole yrs since I reviewed Bloomie's! What prompted me to Yelp it again, you ask?? Well I just had to share my most recent experience here b/c it was FANTASTIC! They have improved SO MUCH in customer service from that one horrible experience I had! SHOUTOUTS to both SAs, ENRIQUE SULIMAN + ROSE MOORE! Basically, I had ordered the Men's Burberry Check Bi-Fold wallet w/ the Six card slots, two flap pockets, two slip pockets, & double billfold compartment. I had seen it in the Burberry store in HI, but all the ones they had in stock were scratched up. I ordered the wallet as a gift on the Bloomie's site and it ultimately was the same color and similar style, but with a clear ID flap on the inside, which was incorrect. I called Customer Service, and they sent out the wrong one AGAIN! This one was more similar, but did not have the two easy access slip pockets for frequently used cards. Ugh! Ok, so I called Customer Service again, but apparently, 2x is the "limit" for resending items EVEN IF they are the one who keep sending out the WRONG item...Oh, and see my pics, but it was all scratched up too! Feeling hopeless, and thinking I'll just go hunting for it at a Burberry store, I decided to try my luck in store, and I met the lovely Rose Moore! She listened to me patiently and decided that she would just take care of it! She immediately looked up the item i ordered, and printed out the item details and attached it to her card. She was very professional, and told me that once I bring in the wallet, she would re-order it for me and have it shipped to my home FOR FREE. Wow. I was so impressed! She also told me which hours she'd be working so she could help me! I couldn't make it when she worked, but figured I'd try my luck with another Bloomie's SA. That's when I met Enrique Suliman. OMG. Luckily, he had heard of my issue last time I came in so he was familiar with my frustrating experience. Again, the most professional interaction ever! He reordered me the item and kept apologizing and saying that he sincerely hopes it works out for me this time. He even said that if I got the wrong wallet again, I could contact him via text and he'd reorder it again! Both Rose & Enrique had so much attn to detail and actually listened to what was going on with all the defective/wrong wallets I got! So happy I met them & got this resolved once & for all!!! Now this is what I call AMAZING CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Bloomie's has moved up to my #1 now and I can't wait to shop here again! My favorite thing about this Bloomingdale's is that it has a Nespresso in it! You can get a taste while picking up pods. It's a great, convenient location that makes it more accessible to refill then going to UTC. The only thing I hate is that it always closes an hour before the mall. Good to keep this in mind so that you go here first before finishing your other shopping. read more

I have never shopped at Bloomingdale's, and it's safe to say I won't be spending money there in the future. I purchased a cashmere sweater and brand name T-shirt as a gift to myself for my birthday. Antonio rang up my items, I paid, and I was on my way to get ready for dinner reservations. Unfortunately I noticed there was a hole in the sweater(I had not tried it on, so did not notice the damage to the merchandise) I figured it wouldn't be a problem to exchange it- there were no hard feelings at all. However when I returned to exchange it I was told I had the wrong tag for the item purchased. This was the tag attached to the merchandise when it left the store with us, and the only tag received. I tried to explain the situation, but as I did security began walking up from all directions. Tina, the customer service manager began insisting that she needed the correct tag to process the return. Again we explained this was the only tag we received, and asked that the cameras be reviewed to verify our experience. She continued to act as if the tag left the store with us, and would not honor an exchange or return without a tag I never received. I have not felt this embarrassed in a long time, and can't stress how inappropriate this was. On my birthday, and in front of several onlookers I was made to feel like I was in the wrong for simply trusting this company to meet the simplest of customer service standards. They were having a half sale for housewares so we decided to get some towels. We got the Turkish cotton bath sheets, bath towels, face towels and the whole set. We got 10 sets of them. Then hubby saw the monogramming deal, so we decided to get monograms on the towels as well. So after everything, we spent close to $300 on towels and a couple hundreds on hand blown glasses for decorating for our house. But the reason this place got 5 stars isn't because we spent so much money on towels. It gets 5 stars because the customer service was phenomenal. Someone was there to help us at all times, they were there to take the towels out of hands and put it aside for us while we looked at the hand blown glasses. When we picked a few hand blown glasses, they were there holding it for us and following us around. They didn't want us to break anything and were very gentle with all of our stuff. There were no pressure to buy anything from them, they were strictly there to hold our things. They even offered us drinks and allowed us to take as long as we wanted. The return policy sucks ESPECIALLY on shoes!!!! They have a 90 day return policy unless it has not been worn. They had me call customer service and they couldn't send me a return label when the purchase was done at there specific location! They wouldn't bother calling for a manger until I spoke up and asked for one directly. Within 1min the manager was able to resolve the issue with no problem at all. I do not recommend coming to this store unless you know for sure you will not have to return something. Absolutely ridiculous. read more

Unfortunely the customer service in the women's rag and bone and Jeans department area is terrible. I've been in search of some good quality jeans, and needed some assistance, but the girl in that department was to busy putting clothes away and on her phone, she didn't even acknowledge that I was looking at all the jeans for about 15 minutes, and she looked at me several times, but not even a hello or can I help you. That's exactly why people shop online now because you have these kids working here don't have a clue about customer service. read more

Let me start off that the entire staff here is very selective on who they service. I was by the sunglass section this past Saturday during the evening and this employee was on his cellphone on a personal call. Worse part about it I was literally standing there trying to make eye contact with him to get his attention and he just walked away. Even though they didn't have the $900 sunglasses I wanted that was extremely rude for an employee who makes less in a year than I do in a month. Just saying, don't judge a book by its cover. I don't know his name but he's a short guy with dark hair in a black suit and I'm the person wearing a hat with a black insulated vest and flannel underneath. read more

Definitely not the nicest Bloomingdales I've been to.. but I was able to find some ferragamo shoes I've been looking for for years.
