When I was a wee little elementary school student, we had a chance to visit Bazaar De Mundo on a field trip. Can you imagine seeing the lively colors of the Bazaar as a young girl? In the present, this is my fave place to bring the family to walk around, experience the boutiques, and see the colorful items for sale. Fresh tortillas can be made in front of you. It is a neat place to seat down and enjoy Mexican food. It is a special place to visit.

Beautiful example of the blouses they sell.

I used to shop at Bazaar del Mundo when it was the heart of Old Town San Diego. Ever since they were booted out of their prime location I make it a point to visit because they have a much higher quality of merchandise than the shops on San Diego Ave.

I wonder if it is too late to change our wedding theme. :)

This place is fabulous. I wanted to buy one of everything. Unfortunately, I do not have the budget nor cabinet/counter/wall space to hold their amazing offerings of colorful dishes, linens, pottery, wall hangings, candles, dia de los muertos bride and groom statues, etc. I kept looking at items and thinking to myself, "that would be perfect for so-and-so!" Unfortunately, so-and-so, I don't have the budget nor room in my suitcase to bring you home that awesome cookbook, rooster purse, wind chime made of recycled kitchen utensils, etc.

The first time I shopped in BDM was when they were located inside old town back in 2005. Since the pandemic started I've done my best to support long-standing local businesses. I decided to head out to BDM and buy a tapestry. I found their costumer service very condescending and rude, they treat people like they're shoplifters. They are quite out of touch. In a time when online business are selling the same wares for less money and less attitude, BDM should rethink their staffing. It's not doing them any favors. The tapestry is beautiful but I don't think I will shop or recommend BDM again.

Located next to Casa Guadalajara so you can shop til you drop them eat lunch! Beautiful boutique shops with high end clothes, plants, and items for your home. Lots of Mexican crafts and cute Christmas decor around the holiday. It's located away from the Main Street but it's definitely so worth it. You'll be glad you did.

I like this little shopping area. My favorite store is Viva Colores. They have tons of cool house décor including a lot that involve birds. LOVE! This time I was just going to look around briefly, and I did, and I even walked all the way out of the store, but then I looked down and off to the side was a doormat. With a crow on it. So I went back inside with the mat and bought it. And a couple of caramel coated marshmallows by the register. Then, on my way out, I saw they had handbags in the shape of chickens. Honestly, words can't do this justice. I gushed over one and the lady who'd been helping me (who literally remembered me from my one other visit over eight months ago), told me they weren't selling well this time around and she was about to mark them half off. I asked if the half off started today and she said sure. As she was ringing me up, another lady mentioned they used to have baby chicks too. She looked for them and found one under the big chicken purses. I had to have that too. And, just for good measure, a dishtowel with a whole family of chickens embroidered onto it. So now Christmas shopping is done for my mom and I have an awesome new doormat! I can't wait to see what they have next time I come to town!

Intense colors, sunny days and blue skies. And some shadow too. Picture perfect scenario for your vacation pics, so Pinterest friendly stores! I had not been at Bazaar del Mundo for at least a couple of years, and this past Sunday happily went back to redeem a prize I won. I ended up buying at Ariana clothing, one of the boutiques inside Bazaar del Mundo (and I did a separate review for them), but since this place is so awesome I could not stop there. I have to say this is the place to buy anything Mexican flavored decoration wise in San Diego (together with Casa Artelexia, which is wonderful). So many quality items, yes, not cheap yet worthy to give as great gifts. The customer service is great, the ladies working in all the little stores that belong to the Bazaar are equally nice and friendly. My favorite pieces are those silver with different stones necklaces, bracelets and rings made in Mexico, as well as the unique textiles. One of the stores has a lot of bedding items, like duvets, pillows, etc, that would give a total rustic Mexican look and feel to any house or apartment. I also like a lot the decorated pots for plants. I double-check, no, no made in China (even if nothing wrong with that, here mostly everything is Mexican).

Wonderful selection of Mexican arts. Their restaurant is also very good. I highly recommend both of them. Service is also top notch.

I only have two malls i consistently go in San Diego, the Fashion Valley Mall and the UTC Mall…read more However, UTC mall is more of a leisure... to walk around and kill time, for my son to play at the playground, for the festivities on the holiday season especially Xmas, to have family fun dates and good food experiences at nearby restaurants and the mall I always go to every time I have issues with my Apple iPhone and techs. The fashion Valley Mall tho, is my main mall. This is the mall where I actually do most of my shopping. We watch movies at the AMC theater when we have extra time and get food at the cafeteria/food court area after hours of walking. My son never misses going inside the Laderach to get a free taste, the best chocolate there is. We love going to this mall, especially with my son now being a teenager, we would most likely be doing lots of our shopping activities here especially at his favorite boutiques, like the zumies, Hollister, Rayban, and plenty others I do not recall.... We also love going to The escape room where the mall is. My favorite is the Nordstrom Rack! ;) The holidays tho could get really packed and busy but there's alot of nice things to see and lots of good deals to look forward to.

I will never come back to Fashion Valley Mall again…read more I was very disappointed with my experience. The mall itself has great stores, but what stood out to me was the number of homeless individuals throughout property. As a shopper, I did not feel comfortable walking around the mall. My two young kids were very uncomfortable, I have to move them from the food court and sit and eat elsewhere. For a high-end shopping destination, I expected a cleaner, safer, and more welcoming environment. Management needs to do a better job maintaining the property and ensuring guests feel comfortable while shopping. Unfortunately, this experience was enough that I won't be returning.

Stopping by the Carlsbad Premium Outlets is a fun outing for anyone looking to shop a nice set of outlet stores in Carlsbad where the weather is typically lovely outside. There are plenty of stores along with some food options. There are some name brand stores and some stores not tied to name brands. There are deals regularly, especially around times like Black Friday and before and after any holiday. I often take a book and read it outside in a comfortable chair (hopefully out of the sun) while waiting for her to shop. When we went with her parents once, I sat with my father-in-law outside and we eventually stopped by Starbucks for a beverage. There are more than 85 stores and restaurants at the Carlsbad Premium Outlets. My wife's favorite is the Ann Taylor Factory Store. There is also a Coach Outlet, Gap Factory, Michael Kors Outlet, and so much more. Some of the restaurant options include a Blaze Pizza, Starbucks (of course!), Jersey Mike's, Ruby's Diner, Rubio's Coastal Grill, Wetzel's Pretzels, Tea Monks, Panda Express, Oasis Tacos, Mot'to Japanese Grill, and Haagen Dazs. There are other restaurants a short drive from the Outlets if more sit-down restaurants are desired. There are plenty of sales, discounts, and deals. Each day, different sales are listed on their website at https://www.premiumoutlets.com/outlet/carlsbad/deals. There are also military, teacher, and student discounts (all published on their website). Be prepared to share IDs accordingly when taking advantage of the discounts. There is also a free Elite Rewards membership, which you can find out more about at https://plus.simon.com. Each store has its own hours though the general hours at 10 AM to 7 PM from Monday through Thursday, 10 AM to 8 PM on Friday and Saturday, and 11 AM to 7 PM on Sunday. Other amenities of the Carlsbad Premium Outlets include accessible parking, ATMs, a baby changing station, bike racks, drinking fountains, EV charging stations, family restrooms, nursing mother's lounge, public restrooms. strollers, wheelchairs, and so much more. There were so many people visiting Seaport Village today. We approached from the Embarcadero walkway from the north. As we walked up, there is a sign that welcomes you to Seaport Village overhead. It's always very nice to see that. There are new shops and restaurants that are available. I was amazed at how many restaurants Seaport Village Now has. The Mike Hess Brewing is still there. The fish shop is still there and Mr. Moto's pizza is also still there. However, it was great to see that the shorebird had been remodeled and now is open for business over the water on the right hand side of the walkway. The highlight of our visit was walking by and seeing the Zeta restaurant now open on the walkway with views of the waterfront. Please see my review for the Zytoun restaurant. Please keep in mind that right now. Seaport Village is very, very busy with construction. Most of the businesses are still open however, several of them are in a construction area. The businesses over on the east side of Seaport Village before you get to the Sally's restaurant, are affected by the renovations. Spilled the beans coffee and Mike has tasting room are not affected, but foot traffic is affected. The town Square where they normally have music and entertainment is not affected now they have games somewhat like lawn games available in that square area, but the foot traffic is affected by the construction of the Outer building facing the marina. Ther are so many vendors here now. We actually were able to visit an art gallery, walk over the pond bridge, with ducks and pigeons, peruse through so many cute shops, check out all of the food offerings, and just enjoy the beautiful views of the water at the Embarcadero Marina Park while here. This is a wonderful walk, and with the vendors, and other sites, it ends up being an adventure.
