(In my defense, I am carrying an iced latte.) This is not your typical suburban mall. There are no fluorescent lights illuminating a food court full of teenagers eating pretzels. Instead, you'll find restaurants, cafés, valet parking, and enough designer stores to make you briefly consider whether you, too, are the kind of person who needs a silk scarf. The Short Hills Mall somehow manages to feel both luxurious and welcoming. Whether you're there to buy a designer handbag or simply wander around with a coffee and people-watch, there's something lovely about spending an afternoon here. Five stars for allowing me to feel rich for a few hours.

It has a nice mix of luxury brands along with more affordable options. I especially like the Macy's here, it's never crowded, as well as Pottery Barn and Crate & Barrel. They also recently added little words project (love this store and its mission to spread kindness ). We also came for their Christmas Santa photos, and it was a really nice experience meeting Santa with the kids. The only downside is that I wish they had a food court. It would definitely make the shopping experience easier, especially when you're there with kids and want to grab a quick bite. Overall, I like coming here.

And he wouldn't give me my phone back. He made me beg him to give me back my phone. I had to beg him and say please just to give me my phone back. He then goes and calls the manager. I show them my receipt on my phone. Issac is still hogging my phone. Manager has to say, "Issac give her back her phone." He kept holding on to it. He finally gives it back. Manager is smoothing over the situation, explaining that if I have to exchange the pillow maybe this pillow isn't for me. Down pillows have a smell. Instead of using my time and picking the same pillow, pick a different pillow. Manager goes, "Issac process her return." Mind you, this man doesn't argue with his manager. He treated me with such disregard and disrespect. Thank god for the manager. Thank god for the ladies working downstairs at Coach for making me feel heard and listened to. The guy working at home department did not apologize to me for his mistake.

We had a very positive service experience in the shoe department. The sales associate was helpful and patient, grabbing us a few similar boot options to try, beyond what we asked for. She didn't mind that we put the boots we loved on hold and came back to purchase them before leaving the mall. We made sure that she got credit for the sale. We had a great experience in the mens' denim department as well - the employees were really helpful in explaining the styles and sizing of the various brands. We also purchased a bag in the contemporary section - the sales associate there was actually pushy and salesy, not someone I'd normally want to work with or support, but we needed the gift so made the interaction short and moved on. Overall we enjoyed our shopping experience at Nordstrom, and we'll definitely return when we're in the area. If you don't live near a Nordstrom, they offer free shipping and free returns. DO NOT EVER REGISTER WITH BLOOMINGDALES FOR YOUR WEDDING. I had the worst nightmare with them. They delivered all my gifts via FedEX but with NO SIGNATURE REQUIRED! Even after I called to tell them (talked to the service center in St. Louis) to require a signature, they told me their systems wouldn't allow this. As a result, half of my gifts were stolen because they just left them on my doorstep when I wasn't home. How do you tell a Corporate Moron like this that they are a Corporate Moron? Do they have the slightest clue about Customer Service or are they back on the road towards bankruptcy because they ignore customers? read more

It's located in a plaza, so do expect it to be a bit smaller than the other Burlington branches. This applies to store size and the selection of clothing. For the men's clothing, there was probably one side of an aisle for dress shirts, belts, and socks. For jeans, many of the popular brands for both adults and young men are available. The largest shirts I've seen go to 6XL and the largest jeans I've seen are 42, although you might see a few larger sizes if you go through the racks well. Belts, I believe, go to size 52. The shoe section for men is limited, with mostly Lugz, US Polo, New Balance, some Nikes, and a few brands I'm not familiar with. It's even more limited for those of us who wear size 13 or higher ('13' is the largest size that I saw when I stopped by today). Aside from that, the kitchenware section is nothing to scream about.--you'll see the same Rachel Ray skillets you can see elsewhere along with other junk. I didn't bother to look around outside of those sections, but overall, it is an okay option if you can't find what you're looking for inside Marshall's.

I once asked a saleswoman to help me decide on the proper fit for a top, and she literally waited outside my dressing room door, holding a conversation with me, while I tried on top after top. You can't get that kind of service in a busy store!

The store is absolutely huge and the selection is unparalleled. There is a big section with real furniture, and you can walk away with anything from a couch to a dining set. And then there are aisles and aisles of goods... for the home. Anything and everything imaginable. Yes this is what every HG offers, but here it just feels... *different*. For the holidays they have at least three aisles filled with holiday wrapping, gift boxes, gift tags, holiday entertaining goods and more. There are also several aisles of speciality food items, so this is a great spot if you are looking for a fun food related gift... everything from truffle oils to fancy coffee. Yay for Homegoods!
