Hello! What a great restaurant! The service was absolutely impeccable and the entire experience was damn-near perfect with only one tiny nit. More on that later. I show up at ten till 5, maitre'd says give him 10 mins, no problem. I sat at the bar next door &right before 5 he comes & tells me he can seat me now. The server is also warm and friendly, and I notice throughout the night that he greets everyone like old friends. What great people! Everything I asked for, he made a point to over-deliver. It was amazing. The food - I got a half pea feta salad, focaccia with olive oil, butter & a garlic, parsley & lemon zest template - very strong - use sparingly. My only nit about the whole experience was that the bread was served cold. Would have been light years ahead if they had warmed it. Blueberry fizz drink was very tasty. I was brought an outstanding amuse bouche before the star main course and it made my day! Then on to the main act - the largest slab of prime rib I've ever seen & a loaded baker potato! The meat was a perfect medium-rare and practically melted in my mouth. The horseradish was great! I didn't use the bernaise, salt or pepper. The loaded baker was outstanding, bacon, cheese, butter, sour cream & chives on top. I finished off with an Irish coffee. My sister later came down from our room & they were gracious enough to warm up the leftovers for her to eat. She had some wine too. I was there 2 hours total & never felt rushed. Our company took over the whole restaurant ahead of time so they were prepared for us. I do believe it's harder to serve everybody all at once. That being said I was underwhelmed. Steak skewer in the crabcake appetizer were both cold. My filet mignon came literally by itself on a plate with no sauce. Like much flavor. The mac & cheese and mushrooms were OK. It took a long time for dinner to get served. That being said hats off to the staff who worked their tails off. It wasn't a bad dinner. Excellent dinner at Bloomington Chophouse, located in the Hilton hotel. Went in for Restaurant Week and added a couple extra starters. Service was exceptional -- two waiters regularly checked in on us, ensuring our meal was pleasant and had everything we needed. Had a great conversation with both about food and drink recommendations. Here's the meal breakdown (Restaurant Week + more): - NA Red Wine Blend -- flavorful like a rosé. First time trying a non-alcoholic red wine and definitely would recommend. - Buffalo chicken soup -- good flavor, very creamy and rich. - Crab cake -- delicious! Loved it the most with the harissa vinaigrette and a squeeze of lemon. Really enjoyed that it didn't rely on breading to keep it formed which allowed the crab flavor to shine. - Hush puppies & Sausage -- both excellent! Best hush puppies I've had in a restaurant in the twin cities! Great flavor (slightly spicy) and had a nice crunchy coating. The sausage was delicious, juicy, and flavorful. In my opinion, both were excellent on their own and the sauce was not needed. - Brisket -- nice fat cap on top. Pulled apart easily with my fork. Paired nicely with the pickles and mustard. - Ribs -- Delicious spice rub (sweet and smoky) and very tender meat! Stellar! - Baked beans -- If chili and traditional baked beans had a baby, this would be it! Sweet, savory, and smoky with 3 types of beans and bacon. Wowzer! Knocked it out of the park! - Strawberry Shortcake -- where to start? The biscuit was baked to perfection and loved the sugar granules on the top half. Refined venue that blends Classic and Modern Steakhouse vibes (fresh flowers at the table, comfy booths and tables). They have great Happy Hour and other unique specials. We enjoyed the Ribeye (ordered Medium by my dinner guest), Steak and Shrimp, sautéed mushrooms, Oysters, and the best calamari I've had in quite some time. Tasty drink cocktails as well. Chocolate dipped macaroons to finish it off. Jay our server, gave us the VIP treatment. They also have Private Rooms available for special occasions. Warning about their 17th anniversary celebration If you received an email from The Bloomington Chophouse in early January 2025 regarding their 17th anniversary event running through February, you should know that they reneged on their pledge to reduce prices to opening day. They now claim that offering a 17% discount is providing greater value than reverting to opening day prices. What a joke. Here are just two examples and there are many others like it. Back in 2008, the prime rib cost $28. Today, it's $45. To get from $45 to $28, you'd have to discount it 38%. The wedge salad was $7 and now costs $13 which requires a discount of 46% to get down to $7. On average, to get back to 2008 prices, the average discount would have to be 38%, yet somehow, their management thinks that a 17% discount is a "greater value". They played the bait and switch game to get me into their restaurant and then changed the game. Not fair! Maybe the way their management treats their customers is why they use Tock instead of OpenTable. You can't leave reviews on Tock but you can on OpenTable. 2008 menu attached. read more

This is a solid 4.5 stars...from service to food, we had a wonderful experience. First off, the presentation of every single item was top notch. The crab cakes and creamed spinach were especially delicious. My hubs really enjoyed his Denver wagyu. I had the flatiron, which was not as good but still quality meat. I got the blue cheese crust, but I think the server just accidentally forgot. No biggie...there was a nice butter in the outside. Wrapped up the evening with a new nonalcoholic coffee concoction (on the menu) that was tremendous. We had a birthday celebration with friends. The food was very very disappointing. None of the food and we had a a variety had any flavor. It was all so bland. There were not salt and pepper shakers on the tables. Our server was very nice but he was very busy with a private party in a private room so he couldn't focus on us. I loved chopped salads and this was the worst I've ever had. It was watery and again absolutely no flavor. There was a manager walking around but nobody asked us how our food was or we would have told them. Very disappointed. We will not go back there again. read more

Came here for a work lunch. Pretty quiet at the time. We had a good waiter and he kept it pretty quick for us. I got a grilled chicken caesar salad (a classic go to for lunch) and it was good.. nothing outstanding. I probably would not come here unless it was for a work event though. read more

We stayed in the Hilton Minneapolis/Bloomington and decided to try the Chop House. It was excellent. The host was pleasant, polite, and well dressed. Our waitress Michelle is a gem. She helped us decide on the components of a great meal. We shred a 9 oz American Wagyu NY Strip that was excellent. In fact it was so good it was better without the Bearnaise sauce! We also split a small wedge salad that was great. Had a nice 10 year old Rhône wine too. We look forward to our next chance to stay at the hotel and enjoy the Chop House again! read more

I have a local Chophouse on the East Coast, yet have never gone. This one was connected to our hotel and we were SO hungry - didn't want to look elsewhere. GREAT food! Wow have I been missing out! The Chophouse salad was soooooo yummy. Our (very nice) waiter, Kenny, said it was big enough for two people, so we shared it, but wished we hadn't. It wasn't that big (do they eat less here?) and it was so stinking good that we each wanted to enjoy more of it! We both got the crab cakes from the app menu for our meals. AWESOME choice. DELISH! The service was excellent. The food was so sub par I can't even explain. I was there alone, staying at the hotel for a reunion. I ordered the Chef Board which is assorted meats, cheese and bread. So for $25 I was served about 2 ounces of sliced meats, about a tablespoon of blue cheese, 2 small slices of a pepper cheese, a couple green olives, 8 blueberries (whatever) and 4 tiny pieces of stale bread, like really stale. We truly enjoyed our complete dining experience here! Michelle was friendly and attentive. We are working on a low carb food program so this was the perfect choice for that. Michelle noted that and did not bring us bread. We started out with the shrimp cocktail appetizer, which had nice size shrimp. For our meal, we shared the NY Strip MedRare+, which was seasoned and prepared to perfection. So juicy and flavorful. Our sides consisted of the mushrooms and asparagus. The mushrooms are truly the bomb when it comes to sides. Their side offerings are heavy on the potato sides, always wish for more veggie choices. One other wish is to get sides as a single order instead of only family style. I can only eat partial of the large order and my hubby does not eat mushrooms, therefore we always end up leaving so much food on the table because we are always flying out the next morning. Usually don't eat at hotel restaurants, chophouse was very good stead. It is als Arte so you have to order sides on their own but everything is a pretty big portion. I got the smallest steak on the menu and it was still huge! They have a nice selection of seafood, and my server Jacob was very helpful in deciding on something to eat. This is a restaurant in the Hilton. My desire was to get out and about since this is my first time in Minnesota, but I kept passing by the bar area and the food smelled delicious. It was crowded early and I wasn't hungry till late so I checked in and asked them to call me when they had a table available. I walked to my room and received a call around 10 minutes later. I come downstairs and I'm seated, the place is beautiful. It's a little loud, but the Ryder Cup is this week and I think people are just animated and excited. I order a glass of Cabernet, it's delivered with a smile. I order the ribeye steak and a trio of sides. I chose the lobster mac-n-cheese, a potato and green beans. Wow what a steak. The steak was cooked to perfection and was incredible. I was not able to identify the taste, but there was something about this steak that made it really yummy. This steak was incredible and tender. I mean amazing! The lobster mac-n-cheese was good but a little runny which I'm not used to. I kept spilling cheese on the table because the sauce was like water. Every other item on the trio was fantastic including the potato which was served with rich butter and chives. The service was wonderful and even though it was busy, my server was on point. Her name was Gayle and she was a wonderful delightful person that made my experience enjoyable. I really enjoyed the food here and when I come back to Minnesota, I will dine here gain. read more

The Bloomington Chop house is a great spot connected to the Hilton right on American Blvd. You can see it on the corner of 494 and France. I have eaten quite a few meals from this location including their breakfast buffet when it was available, lunch, and dinner. My favorites were usually the Lobster Mac & Cheese, the Wedge Salad, and the BBQ chicken flatbread. They have a great assortment of wines, a decent beer list, and cocktails as well. Recently they started Minneq Craft BBQ which you can grab for take out right now. It was really fantastic. They are featuring hardwood smoked beef and pork coming from Niman Ranch and some really fantastic sides. They coined their Niman Ranch beef short rib the Dinosaur Rib which is Texas Dry rubbed, and hardwoods smoked. It had a nice light char. The Brisket is dry Rubbed and Slow Smoked. They were both juicy and extremely tender. In the words of my BF "the brisket basically fell apart and melted in my mouth." The St Louis style baby back ribs had a good amount of meat and the sauce did not overpower the meat. Sides: I knew that the Bloomington Chop House can throw down in the Mac and Cheese department. So, I was excited when they had a side of Wisconsin White Cheddar Mac with House smoked pork belly. I love a creamy mac and the smoked pork belly was a perfect addition. The chilli beans are loaded with pinto beans, chopped smoked pork skank, and chunks of roasted garlic. We both really enjoyed these and are a perfect addition to bbq. Now, I don't know where to begin with these Collard Green's because they were freaking fantastic. Just listening to the process of how these were made I was excited to try them. Actually eating them was quite the experience. The ham hock is boiled in water for 2 hours, then the collard greens are added in that liquid for 3 hours. This is the perfect "middle of the road" stop for an easy Sunday brunch. The location is convenient and close enough to a few shopping spots that your day can continue without much hassle. We walked in and there was nobody there to greet us, but a server stepped in quickly and found us a table. The restaurant wasn't busy at all, so we managed to snag a large, comfortable booth. Major bonus points for that - on a Sunday when I plan to pig out, I need some room to lounge. The service was average, which is what I would have expected. Not super fast, and we had to ask for refills on multiple occasions. At one point I think a different waitress helped us more often than our own actual waiter. No matter, with all you can eat (especially a self-service buffet) I don't need much other than coffee. Lastly, the food was just average. The eggs were ok, but nothing special. I added some cheese from the cold bar and that helped a little. Pastries were sub-par. The real star of the show was the french toast with bananas. Wow! I went back for those several times! For the price, I won't complain. It's exactly what I expected and I would certainly consider it again just for the location. read more

The ambiance was nice, I appreciated the fresh flowers at our table- it added a nice touch. We ordered the calamari, it came out burnt, dried and not edible. They made us a new one but wasn't any better calamari was tiny veggies was sliced down too thin and it didn't fill the plate. Let's say we've had better at a "non fine" dining. Also ordered the lobster Mac and cheese, no cheese whatsoever. tiny pieces of lobster and bacon. Nothing cheesy about it at all. It was literally just pasta noodles tossed in bacon. The raw oysters were a joke. The smallest oysters we've seen. Garlic bread was hard as a rock new ones came out but was slightly better. Paul our server was okay. Having to travel back to back and staying at the Hilton, I became a frequent guest here. The staff knew me well they greeted me by first name. I stopped for breakfast here and probably tried everything on their menu. From oatmeal , pancakes, eggs Benedict to fried eggs. Yup carb full week. Dinner is pricey but food is delish. Service is slower in the evening so there is some wait time. You do get bored of the menu after sometimes but I guess that's the price you pay for convenience by not leaving the hotel. read more

We joined my son's family of 5 for a birthday dinner for our 12-year old granddaughter. Since she loves king crab, we chose to dine here because they have a starter called the Seafood Tower. It's a cold platter of king crab legs, lobster tail, jumbo shrimp, and fresh oysters served with butter, cocktail sauce and horseradish on a platter of ice - and she loved it! It was a lot of seafood that could easily serve 2 as a full meal accompanied by a few sides. Her parents ordered steak dinners and we decided to take advantage of their "Date Night Special" offered every Saturday evening. It's a 3-course dinner for 2 with a full bottle of wine for $80 - a great value! You choose 1 starter to share, 2 entrées and 1 dessert to share and a choice of red or white Robert Mondavi wine. After conferring with our waiter Dennis about the texture of the crab cakes, he said it was "lump Maryland Blue Crab" served with a poblano remoulade so we chose it as our starter. There were 2 small hockey puck crab cakes on the plate, but unfortunately, the texture was not as advertised. It was mushy and lacking flavor. The sauce was orange so I don't know if we got the correct sauce because poblanos are dark green and it had no heat. For our entrées, we ordered the 10-oz sirloin with fingerling potatoes and broccoli, and I ordered the salmon with ratatouille and arugula. Their steaks are choice (not prime) cuts aged 28 days. My wife's steak was a perfectly cooked medium rare and she loved it. However, I asked for my salmon medium rare and it came out bone dry and lacked flavor. There was no ratatouille on the plate, and the arugula had no dressing so it was dry. There was an unexpected yogurt-cucumber sauce on the plate that did not compliment the salmon at all so I returned the dish and ordered the same "medium rare" steak dinner as my wife, but it was a smaller cut and served rare. It was accompanied by plain asparagus and mashed potatoes - not a satisfying dish. For dessert we chose the flourless chocolate torte that was creamy, rich and delicious. It was not that busy so we didn't anticipate the many mishaps during dinner. We would make requests of our server but he continually forgot to bring things we asked for, like a decanter to keep our wine bottle chilled, fresh ground cracked pepper shaker, and other things we asked for. Our birthday girl waited 15 minutes after receiving the dessert menu to place her order while the rest of us finished ours. After speaking with the manager about our experiences, he was quite gracious and apologetic and comp'd about 10% off each of our bills. I don't mind paying more for quality as long as the food, preparation and service are up to par, but our experience was far lacking. As a premium steakhouse, there are much better choices in the southwest metro! read more

We got the steak and pork sandwich Burnece was our server she was busy with like 6 tables she still managed to give great service my drink was never empty. We received everything in a timely manner and the steak was cooked to perfect temp. Erick I think was his name was managing he was dressed to the nines.
