There's plenty of other places in the Twin Cities that offer a good steak without having to trudge through a casino to get to it, but if you're already at Mystic to play penny slots or catch a show, it's a fine option. The menu is pretty classic steakhouse fare with a few Midwest flourishes. Steaks have been cooked to requested temp - other than some superfluous bacon being a bit undercooked on a wrapped filet on a recent visit, they've fit the bill. The smoked bison ribs are very enjoyable and not something you see on a menu often. Sides, salads and sauces have always done a fine job rounding out a meal. I came across this restaurant while visiting for a work trip as I normally try the steakhouse's at the casino's that I work at, and I can honestly say that this is one of the best ones that I've tried. The first night at the hotel, I got the filet mignon with a blue cheese crust, a wedge salad, deep fried brussel sprouts, and the Mac n cheese. Everything was delicious, down to the strawberry pineapple martini special that was recommended by my waiter. The food was so good, that I also decided to try the next night. I ordered to go as I had an early flight the next day, and this order blew my taste buds even more! I got the miso cod (which I could honestly eat every day), au gratin potatoes, and the truffle deviled eggs. I will truly be disappointed not being able to eat this way every day. My waiter was awesome & had a great personality, but the host was a little weary - I did a walk in and they told me that there was no availability while I found open reservations online. My wife, MIL and I went to Mystic Steakhouse a few nights ago before seeing a show at Mystic Lake and had a wonderful dinner. If you're looking for a good piece of meat / high quality comfort food, this is the place for you. For drinks, we got their berry smash cocktail (a special that evening), maple old fashioned and an espresso martini. All the drinks were delicious. The berry smash was refreshing and the maple old fashioned had the perfect amount of sweetness. The espresso martini was your typical espresso martini. Hot tip - you can even get your cocktails to go and bring them into the casino or a show! For our main courses we ordered 16 oz ribeye, 7 oz filet mignon and 10 oz Queen cut prime rib. All of the meats were cooked to perfection, tender and mouthwatering tasty I wish they offered a smaller size for the ribeye, but it made for good leftovers. We ordered the loaded hashbrowns, Brussels sprouts and white cheddar Mac as sides to share. All of the sides were awesome. Well is started with me asking if I could try a taste of the wild rice soup and was told NO! So I ordered it anyway on the recommendation of the server. We ordered the burrata and it was tasteless. Burrata is my absolute favorite cheese so I know when something is wrong. I then ordered the caesar salad and asked for the kitchen to split it and was told they don't do that but would give us an extra bowl for use to split. That would have been fine however they brought it with my partners entree and my wild rice soup which I might add was lackluster to say the least. It tasted like room temp. heavy cream with a couple pieces of rice floating in it. No taste at all. We never ate the salad because it came at the wrong time but we still were charged for it even though the server clearly knew that we planned on splitting it so it should have come before the entrees. All the server said when asked was I thought it was your entree. Really I asked you if you could split the salad so he knew it needed to come before the entrees. To top it off it was my partners birthday and to have this type of dining experience was so disappointing and I felt so bad for him. All-in-all it was a less than special experience. I am writing to formally document and express my deep disappointment regarding a discriminatory and unprofessional experience my group and I encountered at Mystic Steakhouse on November 1, 2025. Our group arrived at approximately 5:00 p.m. without a reservation. The hostess informed us that although the restaurant was busy, we could be added to the waiting list and were listed as first in line. We patiently waited for about an hour before checking back with the front desk. The staff advised us that it was a busy evening, that all tables were booked, and that the wait time would be approximately another 45 minutes to an hour. We understood and continued to wait. After an additional 45 minutes to an hour had passed, I called to follow up. The staff member who answered stated that a group had just received their entrée and would be finishing up shortly and we will be next to be seated. Based on this, we decided to return to the steakhouse and wait in person. Upon checking in again, we were told the tables were being cleared and that we would be seated soon. While waiting, the restaurant manager, identified as Jennifer, came out to greet guests in the waiting area. She personally greeted every group around us, all of whom appeared to be white, greeted the group sitting right next to us yet completely ignored my group, who were the only Asian in the waiting area. She made direct eye contact with us and deliberately walked past without acknowledgment which I find it very disrespectful and unprofessional. As a manager, Jennifer should have demonstrated better judgment and professionalism, but her actions were clearly unjustifiable I approached the hostess stand to inquire about the delay and to ask for clarification on our status so we can decide whether to stay or go elsewhere. Several other guests on the waiting list told us that they had been told their estimated wait time was only 15 to 30 minutes, whereas we ultimately waited nearly two hours. Shortly thereafter, Manager Jennifer came over. I calmly asked why she had greeted every other group except ours. Her response was, "We only greet people with reservations." This statement was shocking and implausible. In my many years of dining at restaurants, I have never encountered a policy that restricts basic courtesy or professional hospitality to only those with reservations. Her statement and conduct were, in my opinion, discriminatory, racially biased, and in clear violation of professional hospitality standards. Rather than attempting to de-escalate or resolve the situation respectfully, Manager Jennifer's only response was, "I'm sorry you feel that way," which further reflected a lack of accountability and professionalism. Subsequently, she involved the casino management team. While the casino manager did approach us, no corrective action was taken beyond an offer of food coupons. I am not here to accept coupons it is the principle and respect that matter. As a customer, I deserve to be treated with fairness and equality, just like every other guest. I left the establishment deeply offended and disappointed. The issue was about the disparate treatment my group received compared to others, based solely on our ethnicity. Such behavior creates a hostile and discriminatory environment of color and reflects poorly on the management of Mystic Steakhouse and Mystic Lake Casino. My intent is to formally document this incident, bring awareness to the discriminatory conduct that occurred, and request that Mystic Lake Casino and Mystic Steakhouse review their staff training, management practices, and customer service policies to prevent such behavior in the future. read more

We made reservation and they require at least 50% of the party to be there before getting seated. For a Sunday around 5:30pm, there were a good amount of people there. On a side note; if you get the sweet potato, just be ware that it comes as a whole sweet potato not what you think of. Lol Steak: they are on the pricer side. No such thing as a cheap piece of steak here. Expect to spend 49$ for the cheapest 7oz filet on the menu. Lol New York strip- we got medium but looked like medium rare when it was cooked but it wasn't bad. A little chewier than others I have had. Flavor was good. 3.5/5 Dry-aged bone-in ribeye: the most expensive on the menu at $114. It is really soft compared to the New York strip. Tenderness. Didn't really taste the dry-aged part of it but overall very soft and good. Dessert: ice cream side and marshmallow on the outside that was lit on fire. Not sure what it's called. This was free on the house for the birthday girl! It's a good portion to share with everyone as well :). Service was excellent! My water was never empty! This is when you know service is great. Service was very good with a plentiful cadre of young staffers. The food was excellent. Our son had a mammoth prime rib with a side of about a week's worth of au gratin potatoes. My husband ordered the 7 oz filet mignon, quite delicious. I chose the "Christmas Special," which was a salad, entrée of shelled lobster, a side, plus a petite marquise as dessert. It's hard to believe that it could get better because each time it has been outstanding in Food, atmosphere, and service. In 2017 and 2018, I loved coming for sirloin tips and clam chowder. Inexplicably, the steakhouse removed both items from its menu, touting how great its new menu is. There is no accounting for taste. I started my meal off with the crab and shrimp ceviche. It came deconstructed, which I found to be a turnoff at first. But it was very good. Decent quality crab (I *think* it may have just been crab stick), shrimp, onions, lime wedges, cilantro and a bacon jam. They were sided with a flatbread type thing that were served soft. I ordered the Sunday special. It comes with a char-grilled ribeye, baby shrimp, iceberg salad, green beans, and a baked potato. I upgraded the iceberg salad to the spinach salad you see pictured. I'm glad I did. Walnuts, soft cheese, grapes, and a wonderful warm bacon dressing greeted me. Flavors melded together perfectly--not one flavor overwhelmed another. The steak was very good as well. No steak sauce needed. I had plenty leftover. Sadly, I forgot about it and left it in my hotel room. I struck off a star for two reasons: I was slightly turned off by the ambiance inside the restaurant--I guess I expect more than to hear the same crappy pop mix heard on the casino floor. I got to enjoy Nelly, REO Speedwagon, Hootie & The Blowfish, etc. I thought that was inappropriate for "fine dining". The baby shrimp that came with the special were unseasoned and flavorless. We ate at Mystic Steak House last night and it was so delicious that we decided to extend our stay at the hotel so we could come back again tonight! We were once again impressed by the food and the service! The Walleye was so delicious- we opted for the meuniere preparation, and was second guessing ourselves when a neighboring table got the fried and it looked so good! But we were both so glad we stuck with our original order because it was insanely good! The mac and cheese and Ceasar salad were both to-die-for and we can't get enough of the rolls! I had a filet, guest had the veal. Both ordered medium. His veal was medium well at the best, bordering on well if I'm being picky. My filet was medium rare with a near purple center. Mushrooms had no salt or flavor, but the mashed and Mac were both pretty good. For all of that - $175, and just an overall disappointing experience. When our meals came, only 4 of the 5 of us were served. The 4 of us waited for the 5th meal to be delivered (so as not to be rude). We waited and waited. He finally encouraged us to eat our meals so they wouldn't get cold... so we did. We were looking around for Taylor, but didn't see him. We were about half way done eating when Taylor came to ask how our meals were. We pointed to the guest with no food in front of him and Taylor's eyes got big. He immediately rushed to the kitchen. Less than 10 minutes later he returned with the last plate of food - but by then, the rest of us were almost done eating. There was no explanation given and there was no apology. I assumed that at the very least, when the bill came, the "forgotten" meal would be comped. Nope. And when I looked over the bill, I saw that the old fashions were $54 a piece! It said they were served "doubles." Yikes! With the tip (we left 20% in spite of the gross error) they were $65 each. We all had prime rib that was very good and the potato side dishes were delicious as well. For what it's worth, the guys said the old fashions were the best they have ever had - but at a steep price for sure. The menu needs some work because I ordered the Vega truffle mushroom because nothing else seemed good but was just a thin ravioli in puree. When calling I was told to physically walk to the front to see if they had any openings. We got there and were seated immediately. The waiter, Jason promptly took our drink orders but made a snarky comment about my wife and my age. This was unsettling and disrespectful. Upon returning to take our food orders we ordered au gratin potatoes, sweet potatoes, a ribeye and the walleye. The maple old fashioned were interesting with the maple candy on top 9/10! When the food arrived, I looked at my steak and immediately noticed it was a New York Strip not the ribeye that I ordered. The lady that brought it out (not our waiter) said she would send our waiter over to remedy the issue. He was nowhere to be found for ten mins. The waiter tried to insist I ordered the New York strip (which I never select at a steakhouse). There was no offer to remedy the situation or bring the correct steak out. The strip that came out was medium rare and not cooked to the level I ordered my ribeye. Eventually the manager appeared and apologized for the whole dining fiasco. Unfortunately, the manager also did nothing to remedy the dining blunder. You hear people compare this to the buffet, which is also good and about the same price but a totally different experience in my opinion. I have always had good service at the restaurant in Mystic whether it was Mystic Steakhouse, Ribbons or the Italian place that disappeared so fast I can't think of the name. I don't mind mixing in the buffet every once in a while, but the price is similar and I think the food is better here. I have had the Salmon, Rib Eye and most frequently the Filet Mignon. I usually opt for the Au Gratin potatoes since I like those the most and whatever vegetable they are serving, usually asparagus. Salmon can often be dry and sometimes overly fishy, but this place does it right, consistently moist with a good buttery garlic flavor. The Filet is always great, it's very tender and cooked with the perfect amount of red in the center, definitely my in laws favorite dish. I wouldn't recommend appetizers here, they are fairly expensive and are not very generous on the serving size especially the Crab Cakes, if you do want an app then go with the Walleye Fingers.
