we stopped by on a Saturday evening for dinner and waited almost 30 minutes to be sat. It was very busy so it made sense. at some point they had us stand to wait near the entrance, but we felt like we were obstructing the path of the servers and other people coming through, so I didn't think that was a great system. Once we were sat, our server was really attentive and friendly and would come by often with refills on drinks, which was really appreciated! I ordered the 6 ounce sirloin, medium rare with buttered corn and mashed potatoes and gravy. The mashed potatoes and gravy were really tasty and the sirloin was cooked medium rare. I did wish that it was cooked at a slightly lower heat because the outside was very very cooked and smoky. also, I had water with my meal and it had a very particular taste which I was not a fan of. Small thing, but if you drink a lot of water you'll notice it. I know people love the rolls and the butter, but as someone who doesn't really like sweet flavors much I wish they also provided some regular butter for the bread. read more

Went here on a Saturday for lunch. Luckily they have lunch specials even on weekends. It surprisingly wasn't that busy for lunch. We ordered drinks, I got the porch rocker, which was okay. My sister got a hurricane blended, that was good as well. For food I ordered the chicken critter salad w/ out bacon added onion & honey mustard for the dressing. They missed the onions on my salad when it was served but I was able to get them on the side. The portion was pretty big. I like the salad overall. The warm rolls with the butter are always a hit as well. Service was a bit rough as our waitress was training in another server. They would often take a while to come back and check on us. But they were really nice and when we asked for something they would take care of it right away. read more

While it was a cool evening, it seems like a restaurant would strive to have a warm cozy atmosphere. It was freezing in this restaurant, I wore my down coat on my legs to prevent hypothermia. The sheer amount of things they place on your table doesn't leave space for even conversation. Friendly staff, but instead of refilling the water glasses, they simply brought more to complete the jigsaw puzzle that doubled as a table. Went there with a group of 7 all in our 70's, 80's, and 90's. Went for an early dinner 3:30 in the afternoon so that it would not be busy. People coming from 4 different cities so not everyone arrived at the same time. Manager refused to seat us until all 7 arrived making it necessary for people who use canes and walkers, and who have difficulty getting up and down, to wait for nearly 20 minutes. Claiming it was a staffing issue; but I watched as 3 to 5 servers stood around for almost the entire time we were waiting, as they had nothing to do. The manager was flexing her authority but was not willing to engage her brains or common sense. But she did point out three times that they have a sign that says they won't seat parties until everyone is present. Something I would have understood and would not object to if they were busy, did not have staff standing around doing nothing, and the group were not all older. We arrived at 5pm to celebrate my wife's birthday and we were seated immediately. I like it here because the noise level is moderately low so we can hear each other talk! She is a lover of filet mignon, which she ordered with a dinner salad and a loaded baked potato. I ordered the 14 oz rib eye with a Caesar salad with 2 or 3 croutons buried below the lettuce, and a baked potato with butter and sour cream. Both steaks were perfectly seasoned, moist, and very flavorful. I tried my wife's filet, and I must say it was one of the most tender filets I've eaten. My rib eye was also delicious, although there was a lot of tough grizzle and fat that I could not eat. I need to mention how great the baked potatoes are here that are often foil wrapped and improperly baked. The skins were coated with kosher salt on the exterior that makes them extra crispy, and the inside was soft and fluffy. We also had a complimentary appetizer that I got when we joined their VIP club, and chose the rattlesnake bites - diced jalapeños and jack cheese, lightly fried and served with ranch and Cajun sauces for dipping. There was no heat from the jalapeños and there was a slight raw vinegar taste in the Cajun sauce that was excessive, IMO. I also think that the bread rolls that come with every meal are too sweet for my taste including the overly sweet cinnamon butter. No thanks! My wife got a complimentary birthday dessert - a small chocolate cupcake with whipped cream that was just okay. Our server Nate was awesome! He was friendly, engaging, and attentive. They really need to learn how to cook a steak. Used to always be perfect. Now most of the time it's like eating shoe leather. I ask for medium rare and it comes out well done. We went to have dinner and noticed a no weapons allowed sign on their door. I asked the manager what's up with that, after all, you are a TX company. I was told that they are a family restaurant, and for that reason, no guns are allowed. Walked in at 2 pm on a Saturday, was told it would be a 30 minute wait. I get to my seat. I ordered a burger and fries, they tell me they're busy today. Domt have a burgers, Thats ridiculous. Unfortunately just had a disappointing experience picking up my to go order. Usually the pickup experience is one of the best in the industry, but today it downright sucked. I walked in to see my order sitting there, rang the bell and waited as almost every staff member walked right by. Noting that it wasn't busy and many people were standing around. I waited quite a while and then rang the bell again. Again I waited. Finally a nice staff member came over and said he would alert the to go guy. The to go guy came up and didn't even look at me or greet me. Finally I was like "hellooo..?" he annoyed said "name?". I then explained I had requested horseradish on my order and he blankly stared at me and asked if it was for my salad..? Then I realized this guy must be new. He annoyed again said "oh..... We have been to Texas Roadhouse multiple times and had a great experience. BUT today we went and the dinner rolls and salad were great....Then our meal came. Warmed up potato which was not even hot. I sent it back to heat it up but it came back the same...maybe warm. Then the steak...minimal seasoning and I think it was prepared a head of time and put in a warmer. Warm when served but not from off a grill. Very disappointing Then we used gift cards on the Kiosk which didn't work and charged our Visa card for the full amount. The manager did correct it but the entire experience was not worth the trip. Apology doesn't make up for the handling of the poor food and lack of restaurant management. This location is super busy with a small parking lot. I saw some people parking at Sam's club and the urgent care next door. This is a great weeknight steakhouse resturant. My friend and I visit it often. The food is great and the staff is even greater! The menu has a selection of steak, chicken, ribs and seafood. I've had the 6oz Dallas Filet in the past. Great option especially if you are watching your calories. Tonight, we weren't. My friend had the ribs and I had my favorite...roadkill. Don't let the name fool you. It's a hamburger steak covered with onions, cheese and mushrooms. Comes with two sides. I always get the potatoes and the house salad. I LOVE their salad. It's crisp, has the right amount of toppings of tomatoes, cheese and eggs. The ribs are incredible too. The sauce isn't too sweet and the meet falls off the bone. The only critique I have is the music. Sometimes it's blaring and you have to shout to your dinner partner. But that's only occasional. And hey, I'll just use that time to eat my meal. Again. AND THEN......Drum roll please!!! I saw catfish on the menu. Catfish is an absolute all time fav because I grew up on it. Y'all, have you ever had a tear when you tasted something?'!? This place was hoping on Mother's Day! We had to wait about forty minutes even when we had our names on the waitlist beforehand. I can't remember but I don't think they take reservations. It's also a peanut bar so you can snack on those while waiting. I love this place for their food and bread. You get fresh buns with this cinnamon butter right away. It's sooo good. Just be careful not to spoil your meal with all the buns you could eat. I love their southern feel menu. You also get to pick from two sides that come with your entree. I love their ribs, shrimp over rice pilaf, corn and baked potatoes. Everything is a little on the salty side though. Trust me, you'll be eating good here. Maybe even gain a few pounds too. It may seem silly to give this massive chain restaurant 5 stars, but I can truly find very little to complain about! We got on the waitlist on our phone while driving out and that was a great idea. The place was PACKED on a Friday night with tons of folks waiting. But thanks to the online check in we got seated pretty dang quick. Our table of four had a wonderful time and everyone loved their food. The vibe up in here is definitely country music, line dancing (sometimes), Yee-Haw, and Texas. What else did you expect? My go to order is a sirloin with a ranch salad and loaded sweet potato. That means it has caramel sauce and marshmallows too! Crazy-town! Needless to say, we were all stuffed. They gave undercooked chicken like it was pink and had weird texture in the middle of raw chicken. The rest of the food was not good either . 6 oz steak was more like 3 oz steak size . Mash potatoes were ok bland , fries were ok but really salty , corn was swimming in butter and still was not good it's like they took caned corn threw some butter on it and called it a day. Where do I begin, So I live in Duluth, down the street from Texas Roadhouse and frequent there at least twice a week in person or order to pick up., so I know the way things work. I've been working here in town for awhile and will be here for a couple years. I don't know the area at all. So its been fast food. Not healthy. So the front desk personal told me there is a TR less then 7 miles away. YAAA. I know to call to see how busy they are, they said there very busy and suggested I order on line. So I did, real easy process, and then there is a box to click for silverware. I did that. Then there is a box to click for special instructions. I listed that I have a free coupon for an appetizer and that I am a veteran and have an ID. Time for P/U was set at 8:00PM I arrived 15 min. early and parked in area that says for P/U. Sign says that you will text me when its ready. At 7:52 a young lady called me and said because I ordered on line that I will not get a veteran discount or be able to use my coupon. I was confused. I told her I paid you TR directly not a 3rd party ( like food dudes or ETC.) she didn't care and was not real pleasant So 8:15 came and no text, I noticed people parking in my area and then going into a side door. Weird never have seen that before. 8:37pm, i finally went into TR and waited 6 minutes more Finally a lady came and asked if she can help me, I said my food is over 45 minutes late and I would like to check on it. I gave her my name and she looked around and found my food sitting on a ledge. I was like wow that looks like its been there for awhile, and I explained everything about my experience. But the lids were not on the strawberry's or the cream so it feel on his shirt when he opened up the container. SO Laundry time. Salad, how can mess that up? LOL you did. The lettuce was dark green and spoiled. The crotons sat so long with the moisture of the lettuce that they were now wet bread. The bread. Again COLD!! Okay I usually right good reviews so I took my mom and my dad to Texas Roadhouse on New Year's Eve it was PACKED and we had to wait a while but that's okay so when we get to our big table although we are a party of 3, we go and order my dad orders a 8 oz steak and my mom orders a baked potato and something else I can't remember anyways... My mom asked for NO sour cream and what happens there is a TON of sour cream on the bake potato. My mom sent it back in and hurrah there was no sour cream and my dad wanted sour cream on his baked potato but got none. Narrative: A night out with the in-laws. They were looking for a good steakhouse. Food: First off, Texas Roadhouse is known for their bread and happy to confirm that is still around. I literally could eat my fill on just those carb bombs along. Usually I go with their ribs but I was feeling like seafood so tried their catfish. Good amount of fish that had a pleasant flavor (less fishy catfish) and great tartar sauce. I also got a huge sweet potato (with all the fixings) and large Caesar salad as my sides. Enough to say, I was stuffed and had plenty of food to take home. Aesthetic: Southern country sports bar. Lots of TVs to watch the game but big enough to feel less like a bar in spots. Service: Servers were great and kept checking in on our table. No complaints. Price: Very competitive for sit down based on food quality, size portions, and friendly service. You can easily make two meals out of their dinners so price point is even more reasonable when taking that into consideration. I like Texas Roadhouse. They usually do a good job and if they do mess something up, they admit it and take care of it. Today at lunch, such was not the case. I ordered the killer ribs for an appetizer and the roadkill for the entree. I also ordered a salad, bowl of chili and a sweet potato. The chili came out first. Good taste but not very hot. I said nothing to the server. Then came the salad. No problems. Then came my entree...but I said where's my appetizer? That never arrived. The person who brought the roadkill just looked at me. Then she says, "I don't know anything about that". So I told her I'd like my app before my entree. Then she says, "do you want me to leave the roadkill?" I said no, I want my appetizer first and then after I'm done. bring the entree. And I specifically said, don't just take that back to the kitchen and serve it to me in 10-15 minutes after I finished the app. It will be cold by then. She goes away. My app comes. The ribs were fine. Then my server comes with my entree and says, "sorry for that mixup, that should not have happened and this has been sitting back there for awhile, so if you're not satisfied, let me know." It was that exact same entree and side I sent back and by now, they both were cold. So I told that to my server and asked for a togo box so I could take it home and heat it up there properly. She apologized and said she'd talk to a manager about it. After a good while, she came back and said the manager was sorry that happened. That's it. The manager was sorry they screwed up. I was too. Unfortunately I was the one paying for their mixup. So I took my food and left. The server was good, tried to be helpful, but the manager apparently couldn't be bothered as the server told me "she had to make a phone call and would be awhile". Right. Took my mom here for her birthday. She is super picky about her meat and I had only just realized this location was here so I got excited when I was able to change her mind off of fake steak outback for her birthday dinner! I am a frequent patron of the Coon Rapids location (with friends.. i love in this area of town) so in hopes this location was just as good, I talked up the ribs for sure and we were not disappointed! We both got the rubs and ribeye combo. Hers was perfect, my steak was over cooked.. no issues, they had the perfect steak in front of me in under 5 minutes and then the manager boxed up the over cooked one for the pup back home! The rolls and butter are a staple and amazing and the baked and sweet potatoes were perfection! I'm so glad we had such an amazing experience here, maybe one more place I can bring my picky mother!!
