--------- Updating this review as of 8/31/18. Was told by the waitress they DO have hot tea, and ordered some to boot. The cheesecake and the carrot cake are real winners! Adding 1 Star and dessert pics.

Because we didn't have time to prepare tailgate food or eat out beforehand, we decided to try the restaurant at Blossom as a treat before the Zac Brown Band concert. We arrived at Blossom around 6pm, we were allowed in the gates but stopped near the entrance of the restaurant. We were told unless we had a reservation, we had to wait a few more minutes before they opened the lawn, pavilion, restaurant and other food areas for the public. So we waited and then followed a line of about 12 others into the restaurant. We were given menus and told to go to the bar to order. There were two ladies behind the bar taking orders and making drinks, so I stood in line for about 30 minutes waiting to order. I got our drinks and took a place card holder with the food order number to a table. The restaurant itself is very nice, I enjoyed sitting outside in the shaded pavilion. Our food took about another 30 minutes to be delivered. Upon delivery, I noticed my $20 bacon cheeseburger did not have bacon. The server, Betsy, brought bacon to me right away. By the time she came back with the bacon, I had tried my fries, which were cold. Betsy had me place the cold fries on a plate and she brought me new fries, which were also not hot. My boyfriend ordered (6) wings (they were out of their bbq sauce, so he got teriyaki instead) and a chicken quesadilla. I tried one of his wings...not crispy, not hot, not a whole lot of flavor. The burger was decent, but yet again, not hot. We both had a vodka with Sierra Mist to drink...our order was $80 after I left a tip for the bartender, Michelle. We also tipped Betsy, who apologized up and down to us for the food mishaps. I was really excited to try this restaurant as it seemed like it would be a treat - a much better option than the vendors. I go to a lot of concerts at Blossom during the summer so I was hoping this would be our new go-to place. I was so disappointed in the food quality and system they have to order food & drinks. They had two things going for them - service was excellent from both Betsy and Michelle and the atmosphere. Overall, it seemed like such a waste of time and money, which is a shame because the restaurant has potential to be something great.

Food was great. Very generous portions (we ordered too much). Staff was extremely friendly and kind.

That's the fun of dining in a hidden speakeasy restaurant. I'm used to only finding them on my trips to Vegas so to discover one close to home was like hitting a local jackpot! We walked in Mattioli's Pizzeria and knew to look for the secret entrance. The only downside was we arrived at the same time as another couple so we didn't get the joy of opening the door for ourselves. (Next time) We walked into a completely darkened room and found a hostess who asked for our reservation and then escorted us to our table. Definitely a speakeasy vibe. Lights down low with just some minimal table lighting. Classy decor and just the right touches of comfort and secrecy to the vibe. We looked over the menu and placed our order. We got a salad and the pizza cupcakes for appetizers. Delicious! If you go do yourself the favor and get the pizza cupcakes! You get four of them and you can choose the variety you want. Of course I picked four different ones and loved them all. We ordered three different pizzas from the menu all of them were happily eaten. The crust is light and soft with a good taste. The pizza all with different sauces, cheeses and toppings yet each flavorful and delicious. We may have over ordered just a bit but who doesn't like to take leftover pizza home? Besides it was just as good warmed up on day 2. We did have some little homemade type sugar donut balls that our friends ordered for dessert. Can't remember what they were called. Nothing I would go out of my way to order but they tasted fine. Just not my type of dessert. The bar seems extensive with lots of handcrafted drinks. Took a video of the waitress torching a crème brûlée martini. Lots of fun to watch them craft these drinks. We sat around a very comfy table that made us feel like all we were missing was a fireplace and we'd have been right at home ready to curl up under a blanket and take a little nap after a good meal. We would definitely return and look forward to doing just that in the future.

I had the spritz, which was good, but took over 30 minutes to receive even though we asked about it multiple times and everyone else at our table had received their drinks. My husband had an old fashioned which turned out to be only 5oz. The glass was not even half full. We all thought this had to be a mistake considering the cost and how poorly presented the drink was but the manager assured us that they measure properly. I think they should include this on the description because for $13, we were not expecting such a small drink. Our friends were not impressed with any of the drinks they ordered, either. My friend specifically ordered a double vodka shot in a short glass but received it in a tall glass, therefore watering down the drink. As for food, we shared the marinated feta appetizer and the charcuterie board. Both were good but the charcuterie only had one serving of meat (salami) and the rest were olives, peppers, cheese and grapes. For $19, we were expecting a little more. One of the cheeses, the largest portion, was a very spicy pepper cheese that none of us really enjoyed. The dip was very good - no complaints. We also ordered three pizzas. Our friend got the chicken pesto which he said was ok but nothing great. My husband got the short rib which he enjoyed. I did a make your own, which had literally no flavor at all. The crust was good but that was about it. I suppose that's my fault for picking the toppings but I thought it would taste better than it was. As for service - it was very slow and they were very inattentive. I wouldn't come back here or recommend it. I think as a restaurant that advertises for its drinks and pizza, both were lacking.

I love walking up Lock 29 to grab a drink to take along with me on my walks! Heck yes!…read more I stopped by the Peninsula Coffee House and Market during a weekend trip to Cuyahoga Valley National Park this year. I was lucky and snagged a parking space in front of the business; their parking is VERY limited and I'm surprised I didn't have to use a lot that was across a bridge. (Note that the bridge is right by the coffee shop, so it wouldn't have been a long trek at all.) I ordered a Butterscotch Latte and a Sausage, Biscuit & Egg breakfast sandwich; snagged a seat near the front of the store; and settled in for a relaxing break between my hikes. The coffee was excellent and the sandwich really hit the spot! While seating in the lower level is limited, I've learned reading other reviews that there is an outdoor patio and an upper level too. Their website mentions that they run a sundry market here too; however I didn't spend much time shopping in the interest of not stretching my wallet too far during my travels. I also didn't check out the wine cellar in the lower level. While this shop is little, it clearly has a lot to offer, and I am so glad I found it during my visit to Cuyahoga. I'd absolutely stop by again during future visits to the area...and I'd love to time my next visit so I can check out that wine cellar!

I ok with that but not everyone wants steak. They had no choices for chicken or fish. I did see on the menu that they had banana fosters. That a joke it was bread pudding with ice cream on top and 3 slices of banana . I told the server this is anything but bananas foster and I felt insulted. She immediately took it off the bill. To which then I explained to her what bananas foster really was and she said it sounded good. She's never heard of it. Also I ordered mashed potatoes and I was told it was not up to standard and I have to make a second choice.. I will try to celebrate with my wife my 73 birthday with a nice dinner .
