Both of my children ordered the steak-on-a-stick from the kids' menu, requesting it cooked medium. My husband and I each ordered steak salads. Our children's meals arrived quickly, but when we cut into the steak, it was clearly undercooked. When the food runner returned with ketchup, my husband politely mentioned the issue. She appeared confused but did take the meals back to be corrected. The food was returned prepared as originally requested. Shortly after, our salads arrived. While my steak was slightly overdone--which I didn't mind--the condition of the salad itself was extremely disappointing. The lettuce was wilted and browned, giving the impression it was far from fresh. PLEASE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY EATING HERE! I came here with my husband & mother-in-law. The restaurant wasn't very full when we arrived, but the host asked us if we had reservations. I was taken aback by his comment. He was able to seat us immediately. Our server was very kind and great with drink refills. We ordered appetizers (calamari, French onion soup and shrimp scampi), within 5 minutes, the server said they were out of calamari. I ordered fried green tomatoes instead. They were paper thin, extremely greasy & wet. My mother-in-law's shrimp looked overcooked to me, but she enjoyed it. Hubby's soup was ok, but he noticed they used mozzarella rather than gruyere on top. For entrées, I ordered a steak medium (as it is a steakhouse), hubby ordered lobster tail and mother-in-law ordered scallops. The first thing I noticed about my steak when I touched it, was that it was WAAAAAAY too hard - ie. OVERCOOKED. I cut into the middle and the steak was well done, like ZERO pink. I wasn't sure how a supposed "steakhouse" has line cooks and expediters that can't tell the difference by touch between a well done and medium Temps AT A STEAKHOUSE! I didn't eat it. The baked potato was slightly crunchy, so that I didn't eat either. My dogs on the other hand enjoyed it. My husband's lobster was burnt on top and quite rubbery - ie. overcooked. Mother-in-law's scallops were quite small and also looked overcooked, but she said it was fine for her. The only reason we came was to celebrate my mother-in-law's birthday as she chose the location. The food was TERRIBLE and over priced. We could have went to The Marble Room for a similar price point, but higher quality of food. If I never eat at Brown Derby again, that will be too soon. I've visited Girves Brown Derby several times since moving to Medina. This is one of the closest restaurants to my house. They cook some of their offerings over a wood fire, which gives a unique taste. I've had steaks, hamburgers, and chicken and all were delicious cooked over the wood fire. So far, my favorite dish has been the smothered chicken. Served with mashed potatoes and veggies, it's quite delicious. I also ordered a baked sweet potato, which was amazing. Paired with a Downeast Cider, my dinner was awesome. The service is fast and friendly and they are complying with COVID-19 regulations. We'll continue to dine here. Excellent meal! read more

We were on time for our 5pm reservation, no one comes to table for 40 minutes.We were in a side room that had lights near the ceiling. One was directly shining in several faces at the table.
