After my last visit here, I'm rating Blu Blu Greek Kitchen five stars. My husband treated me to lunch recently and we had such a good experience - fresh, delicious food in an airy, charming, and casual eatery with friendly service. - We love the Anassas teas and Devotion coffee here - Get the Grilled Halloumi, Hot Honey, Zaatar Flatbread - So good! - I liked my Chicken Souvlaki Platter with the wild rice (also comes with grilled tomato, hot pepper, tzatziki, and pita) - Lots of options for vegan and vegetarian; from leek hand pie, vegan wild mushroom platters and gyros, and salads - If you are into greek desserts, there are a lot of options - from traditional baklava, honey cake, to loukoumades (donut holes). They are open six days a week - closed on Sundays. They do catering if you're interested too... Highly recommended! read more

Stopped in for lunch at this restaurant today. I ordered a chicken gyro and a coffee. I thought the gyro was ok. It came with fries in it which I didn't realize nor want. They didn't have cream for the coffee, just milk, which was a bit disappointing. There are 3 large tables for dining in, plus a few stools. The place was very bright and clean. Server was friendly. There are quite a few fast eat Greek places in the area which are very good. Not sure I'll be back at this one. read more

Fantastic place! Homemade greek and it is authentic! Incredible. Their greek yogurt is to die for. I stop in here just to get one once in a while. They have sour cherry, fig or honey topping. read more

Got the vegan wild mushroom gyro because who else makes on of those. It was a pile of mushroomsna and spinach on a typical gyro base, which I enjoyed every much. Will get the falafel next time. I like the dining room a lot and the sever was nice. read more

Next time, I'd definitely order to go and enjoy the food in my hotel room. The restaurant seems to really care to the to go crowd. Our meals were all served in plastic take away containers, even though we were clear that we were dining in. The moussaka and spinach and feta hand pie were excellent. The baklava was good but nothing special. The orange honey cake, though - wonderfully different and unexpected. Enjoy the food but skip dining in. read more

Blu Blu is Tried and True!! This place is a Super Solid Mediterranean Brunch spot which serves up some incredibly delicious fresh and satisfying meals for all of your dine-in, takeout, or catering conveniences.    So far I've tried the Beef and Lamb Gyro, the Feta Cheese Fries, and their Greek Yogurt with Rose Petal topping and all I can say is WOW!! Finally got to try this place. And even though it's the 3rd Mediterranean restaurant to open up within 4 miles in the past 2 years, it was unique and different, and I loved it. I really enjoyed my Chicken Gyro, which came with French fries in the pita. I also ordered a slice of the Spanakopita. It wasn't my favorite spanakopita ever, but it wasn't bad, and I got a huge slice. I also ordered a side of fries because my eyes are bigger than my stomach, and they were delicious as well. Blu Blu had a promising start. The restaurant was bright and inviting, with well-presented food and specialty displays that showcased their offerings to customers. Unfortunately, that initial charm has faded. The displays are now sparse and lack visual appeal. From the very beginning, customers had to be extremely vigilant to ensure their orders were complete. On multiple occasions, items were missing, and resolving the issue often meant an inconvenient return trip--hardly the experience one hopes for. That pattern hasn't improved. Now, on top of inconsistent order fulfillment and declining presentation, the overall experience feels neglected. What once felt like a fresh, customer-focused establishment now seems to operate with minimal attention to detail or accountability. It's disappointing to see a place with such potential lose its edge--and its reliability. ***On our latest visit my full order was in tack but I was SOLD rancid/sour expired food (Baba Ganoush/Greek eggplant dip). My parents are always on the lookout for new Greek places to try, so Blu Blu's debut made its way to our palates in short time. Keep in mind this review is food only, as we did takeout and not dine-in. Service: Slow. They told my parents 15-20 minutes, and it took about 35 for the food to come out. I feel like some dishes may have been ready faster than others. They were very friendly about it, but still that's quite a bit of delay. Food: Pretty good. My parents love the fresh style, but to me, when I think "Greek" I want the traditional taste. Without oil, the fresh taste didn't say anything particularly Greek to me. The meat was overcooked and extra-dry, and I didn't feel like you got a whole lot with your meal. The pita was really not that great - I've had amazing fresh pitas before and I didn't get the "we made it ourselves" from these dry quarters. Food was otherwise pretty good, though the avgolemono soup has no orzo/pasta inside, just soup and meat. Verdict: My parents actually like this place more, but I'm sticking with Thavma down the road in Livingston. read more

Was greeted when I entered. Ate it so fast when I got home so couldn't take photos but very fresh, prepared and packed well and extremely tasty. Place is quite large and seems more like a greek cafe with nice espresso machines and dessert display in back. I had the lamb gyro pita and wife had a chicken kabob platter over rice. Blu Blu is a takeout operation with some tables and chairs both inside and outside the restaurant, offering counter service. It's a clean, attractive space for lunch, perhaps less so for a comfortable dinner, given the containers and plastic utensils taking the place of even paper plates and silverware. But if you came for the food, you're in luck. The Greek Salad was authentic and delicious, as advertised. The chicken gyro was moist and well-seasoned, with a good portion on the platter. The rice was fine as a base. Baba ganoush was also tasty and great on the warm, fresh pita. There are many choices for meat-eaters and vegetarians. The components of each dish are high quality. The dessert offerings are strikingly beautiful, from pastries to yogurt with a variety of toppings. Baklava was solid. The Greek Yogurt was outstanding with sour cherry topping. This is an excellent addition to E. Hanover, and we'll be back. Ownership might attract a bigger dinner crowd with the trappings of a sit-down meal---serve on paper plates, even, with some cutlery. They see eager to please, and I have a feeling it will evolve a bit from the original concept to find a market. Go! For a quick serve restaurant, service was slow. The prasini salad was tasty with a pungent feta. The cheese pie had a nice crusty exterior but the interior was doughy and could use more seasoning. The chicken souvlaki pita had good pita and chicken but needed more tzatziki. read more

Whenever I look at their menu they are always out of so many menu items. I don't understand it. Today they are not open for some strange reason and they are still out of stock on items!!!! How can you be out of a staple like stuffed grape leaves??? There are NO mixed grill platters available, only 3 of 6 gyros are available, no pastries and 6 desserts are unavailable!!!! How can I make plans to go to a restaurant that is always out of stock on the basics??? Haven't gone but I am forced to rate my non-experience!!!! Talk about lack of flexibility!!!! read more

In an area without Greek restaurant options, this place is an oasis. Overall, it is not to be missed. We visit regularly. Great tzatziki. The chicken can be dry, but the portions are generous. The service can be pleasant but slow for eat-in, which is weird since the place often has few patrons. They may have a substantial take-out business. The pastries are beautifully presented. The place is spotless--a few parking spaces in the front and a few in the back. read more

You go up to the counter & order, service was prompt and seating is adequate. The place is relatively new, therefore the decor is light & fresh. The food was ok. Supposedly made fresh but comes out in a to go bowl. $44 for two Greek salads and a side of gyro meat.. not inexpensive.

I usually don't write a review after just one visit unless something about the place stands out - good or bad. Blu Blu was GOOD! I ordered a side of falafel (which wasn't on the menu but they said it should be so ask if you don't see it!) which was crispy and yummy with a side of creamy tzatziki that wasn't overly garlicky or dilly. The chicken gyro was delicious. It was fresh and filled with a good amount of chicken, onions, tomatoes, lettuce and a few fries (only like 4 which I took out because I didn't realize it came with fries). Definitely a large portion which I appreciated :) It's one of the best gyros I've had in a while. I picked up my order in store (they have phone and online ordering options) and on a Friday evening it was dead. I walked in at 11:45 AM to an empty restaurant to find the only employee eating behind the register (I would have thought this was a "busy" time for the establishment. While the eat-in area was very clean, that did not come to a surprise after my experience. I grabbed an already prepared sald that consisted of Icebur Lettuce, and about 1oz (being generous) of Feta cheese. I asked for red onion, olives and 2 feta leaves. I was charged $25.06. I threw out the dressing which was 99% oil. This is insane. I have pictures of receipt and food. Just don't have the option to upload. SO VERY DISSAPOINTED. read more

Food was pretty good....A recommendation though. When people are eating, the staff should be conscious of where they are pushing food debris while cleaning other tables. Not sure why this employee would then come around the restaurant sweeping underneath the table that customers are eating at. And then the dirty looks being passed by this person were threatening and uncalled for. While the food was good, and the other gentleman at the register was very nice, I don't think I'll be back. I ordered a chicken gyro and cheese fries. I waited an abnormal amount of time for my food to come out and it was old looking. The lettuce had browning around the edges. The sauce was not good. I called the restaurant and the customer service I received was very unprofessional and very disrespectful. I will never ever come here again. Authentic Greek food that my family actually liked! The papoutsaki and Loukoumades were excellent!!!!

We were in the mood for Greek food so I looked on Google and we saw this place. We stopped in for lunch. My husband had the Gyro sandwich which was mostly lettuce. I had the Música spelled wrong. It was good, but I have had better $20 for a little square piece. It should've come with a salad or something not worth it at all. We brought home. Spanakopita which was OK again I've had better kind of dry. We brought home two desserts which were also OK. I don't think that will be back. read more

Stumbled in to this place quite by accident and was pleasantly surprised! I ordered the souvlaki sandwich, which was moist and flavorful, and had a delighful iced latte as well. I couldn't leave without sampling their desserts, and the selection was quite expansive! The space is open and modern, and the restaurant is spotless. I stopped by for lunch the other day and was pleasantly surprised by how delicious the food was. Husband had lamb gyro and I had chicken gyro and a couple of Greek desserts (honey walnut cookie and honey chocolate puff). By far the best Greek place in town. Chicken was moist, not burnt or salty, loved crispy fries in it, greens were incredibly fresh! They were actual high quality greens instead of cheap romaines. The meat on my chicken gyro was pretty dry -- the tzatziki sauce was mediocre (glad we had some Cedars tzatziki from the grocery store in the fridge we could use instead). Greek salad was fine except the dressing was balsamic vinaigrette (not sure why a Greek salad has balsamic vinaigrette but thankfully we also had some real Greek dressing at home) Lots of premade items in the cases so perhaps our chicken gyro came from there and that's why it was on the dry side. Staff was friendly and the joint was clean so there weee a few positives there. Wouldn't spend the money to get food here again though as it was just meh. read more
