    Kuku
    Josh B.

Staycations may not be super-fun but with the temperature in the 40s I went to Morristown for a walk and some outdoor dining at the Green. The extremely fast Uber Eats pickup included the mast-o-moosir dip with yogurt and shallots and the kuku Persian-style fritatta (the first option including spinach and parsley; there's another variant with eggplant). The standout was the aash soup - far creamier, onion-laden and dense than usual (these adjectives will have to suffice until I get into CIA Blogger School). Even without an entree, this was substantial and enjoyable. I liked the little touches, like the pickles that accompanied the kuku.

Wonderful dinner! I ordered it to go for myself and my parents on a weekday night through uber eats. The food was ready in ~30 min and was still warm when I got it home. I'd recommend ordering several dishes to share among a group of people. The prices are a bit steep, but the portions are pretty generous and I felt it was worth it. Food: -Ground Sirloin Kebab: tasty and a really filling -lamb chops: delicious and full of flavor. You also get 5 small chops, so plenty to eat -kebab e barg: SUPER tender. Easily my favorite meat -Shirin Polo: I was dubious about paying $14 for rice but it was worth every penny. So much flavor! -koresht e fesenjoon: this stew was the star of the show. The flavor is out of this world and you MUST GET THIS Overall, you really can't go wrong- everything was super flavorful and tasty. Will definitely go here again.

Marjan has a nice ambiance with warm, relaxing decor. We were greeted immediately as we walked in and seated right away. We ordered three appetizer platter with The dolmeh (grape leaves) were served with a homemade pomegranate and tamarind sauce. The kashk -e-bademjan was served with a flat thin bread which is very similar to a wrap. The flavor of the kashk e bademjan is awesome. The KuKu (frittata) was very different. It's got the consistency of a cake but very light. It's served with pickles and fresh red/yellow pepper which definitely enhances the flavors. The kabab platter had a beef kabab, 4 chicken kabab pieces, and lamb kabab. The chicken kababs were so flavorful! The side of rice was sprinkled with some seasoning and were very tasty. The host served us as well and was very attentive. He made sure to check up on us and gave us enough room to enjoy our meal. Nice place.

The ICE CREAM made this a five stars for me. * Walked in and was greeted by a very nice person. He cleaned off a private table in the back quickly for us. Service overall was very quick and friendly. I had the Persian Iced Tea as my drink and it was lovely. We started with the hummus, which came with bread (I think it was some kind of whole grain). It was excellent - lovely olive oil drizzled on and smooth consistency. For dinner I had the Kabob-e-barg. The grass fed meat was so soft in texture. Never really had steak like this. It was cooked to my liking and was very flavorful and juicy. The side rice was also very good. The star of the show was the ice cream. What an experience! Tasted high quality - nothing that you could ever get from a container. The pistachios gave it a nice slight crunch. * Really lovely establishment. * ALSO! I have to mention they are extremely attentive to allergies. I had two people (one I believe was the owner) who came to the table to review my husband's food allergies. You don't always find consideration like this in restaurants.

My friends and I came here for dinner. AMAZING food and great service. We had the following: Appetizers: - Kashk-e-Bademjan [Absolutely delicious, my favorite item hands down.] - Hummus [Fresh and flavorful] Mains: - Kabob-e-Bakhtiyary with Grilled Veggies [Meat was cooked perfectly, well seasoned and overall fantastic] - Kabob-e-Sultani [Same as above] - Fesenjoon [This was an interesting dish. I recommend getting it for the table to eat with other dishes, but on its own it's a little overwhelming. Definitely a must try though] Desserts: - Persian Ice Cream [Amazing! Light weight and not too sweet. Very unique] - Baklava [Disappointing, dry, no honey] - Turkish Coffee [Delicious and very cute presentation] Overall we would definitely come back!

    Incredibly delicious hummus

I finally made it here. Started with hummus. I think they roast it. It was one of the best I had with some of their homemade pita. We split their house plate which had chicken, lamb and sirloin. Everything was delicious and well seasoned. We finished with baklava and a Turkish Coffee. The service was perfect. They even let me try one of the sauces fo a sweet and sour stew they make because I couldn't make up my mind. Who does that? It is not to be confused with Chinese food. Very tasty and I will order next time. Our bill was $68! We are not big eaters. We split the app and shares the entree which is for 2 people. We left very satisfied and plan to return.

I do wish the servers were Persian so I could order in farsi but there was no communication issues so it's fine. We ordered a couple things so we could try a bit of every thing. The kebab platter came with koobideh, barg and chicken with subbed the white rice for cherry rice which turned out to be the star of the show. Even as a Persian, I have never had that rice before.Somehow, and it quickly became delicious. And I immediately text my mom and asked her why she had never made it for me lol We also got ghormeh sabzi which as I told my friends can be hit or miss in flavor and if they would actually like a stew like this. They both actually enjoyed it, and I thought it was pretty close to my mom's recipe. The only sad thing was that we ordered tahdig but the table next to us had ordered 2 large plates and they had no more, which was odd given it was only 1pm and the restaurant opens at 11am. Overall good experience, love that they played Persian music to give it a real deal feel. Will be back!

The service is very attentive. Right when we sat down the host gave us water which was nice. The waiter was a little too attentive, kept coming up to us to ask if we were ready to order when we were not, and just kept coming and coming every two minutes. They give complimentary flat bread which is tasty. Our Persian friend mentioned usually Persian restaurants give the bread with herbs and feta rather than just plain. We did find on the menu the herbs and feta was an extra cost. We had the kebab combo and subbed cherry rice and salad (which is cucumbers and tomatoes) and also exchanged the ground chicken kebab for a chicken breast kebab. The standout was the steak kebab and the cherry rice. There were so many cherries in the rice, and it was both sweet and savory. I couldn't stop eating it. The steak was super juicy and well seasoned. I also really like the roasted tomato on the side, basil and pickled cabbage. We ordered a stew, think it was Ghormeh sabzi. It had a bunch of herbs in it, and beans and a dried lime. Was told not to eat the lime. It was a very strong and rich stew, I took a couple of bites. Don't think I could have eaten the whole thing. It's very strong. It's our friend's favorite Persian dish and she loved it. There was one dish we wanted that they ran out of but they gave us a couple of dollars off the bill which was nice. Overall excellent food! Would come back.

Prob the best swordfish I've ever had at a restaurant - nicely seasoned and not dried out. We didn't really check out desserts because we were too full. Soft drinks were available and it's BYO. Servers seemed disengaged, chatting among themselves instead of attending to tables promptly. When we asked questions about dishes during our last visit, the response was a curt "whatever it says on the menu," which felt unhelpful and dismissive. The food is still decent, but the unpleasant atmosphere makes dining there less enjoyable now. I hope management addresses this situation. Perhaps training could help, regardless of any broader challenges with workers. Frequent patrons like me notice the decline and hope it can be corrected.

There was no waitstaff or bus staff. The owner was the chef/waiter. We figured - what could be better! The decor looked very homey and inviting. Even though at the time we first stepped into the restaurant we were their sole customers, we felt ignored. We sat ourselves down and were not greeted or offered water until after several minutes. There was no bread offered. Maybe since their sign says "gluten free"? I guess no gluten free bread either? Persian cuisine is known for their delicious home baked bread and customarily given to patrons as appetizers and/or on the side when you order kebabs/stew. There was none. So we ordered the olive appetizer. It was actually frozen and my teeth sank into clumps of ice. I also asked to confirm whether or not their wild salmon was actually wild as written on their menu and the owner said "of course". Sadly it didn't appear or taste wild; the cubed cut meat was thick, fleshy and peachy pink. Definitely not sockeye/wild. Had we known it was farm raised, we would've ordered a different dish. The doogh yogurt drink was very watery and lacked any flavor or substance. Usually when I order this drink in other restaurants I would gulp it down like nothing and ask for seconds. I took a sip of their doogh and drank it sparingly out of obligation, not pleasure. As hopeful as we were to make this a regular stop, unfortunately that was our first and will be our last visit.
