New menu tonight, first the Panzela (most likely mispelled this) was delicious, a medley of vegs and croutons in a pesto was great and probably the best of the night honestly. 4.5 Stars. The chicken smelled, and looked great, but was just too chicken "breasty" if you know what I mean. Just a bit bland and plain, needed a bit more salt. The skin was well cooked and you do need to wait just a tad longer for the prep on this. It is a solid dish but nothing special. Could I eat it multiple times, probably, great protein. 3.5 Stars. King Salmon and the prep around it was very nicely done. Fresh, healthy, clean, buttttttt overcooked. Asked for medium rare plus and the moment I saw the char I knew it would be overcooked. While still good, it just had too much orange if you know what I mean and not enough delicate touch to it. If done right, definitely could see myself ordering this often. But it was disappointing to have my salmon overcooked. 3.5 Stars. I think this is a very quaint, nice ambiance, neighborhood restaurant. Not a destination restaurant though. Sorry. I was in Redmond to see a specialist and when that was over decided to have lunch at Blu Sardinia. I arrived a little before noon and found I had the restaurant to myself! I felt like a VIP of VIPs! I was met by a member of the staff and shown to a table. The staff member took my drink order (a drink named Amoxicillin) and I asked for Pane Rustica, but was told that only the head chef knew how to make the flatbreads and he wouldn't be in for another hour. . Oh well. I then placed my order for my main course. I chose the Parmigiana Di Pollo. Oh my! This had to be the absolute BEST chicken parm I've ever had! The angel hair pasta was great! The pasta sauce was excellent! And the chicken parm was exceptional! I've never had chicken parm that was crunchy AND tender AND moist! So good! When I was all done, or so I thought, the server asked if I was interested in dessert. I said Yes, Please! And looked at the dessert menu. I ended choosing the Tiramisu and was amazed yet again! There were so many flavors! After I finished my most excellent meal, and was relaxing, I finally realized that the background music was so fitting. It was the cliched Italian restaurant music. The shrimp was very flavorful though. Chicken parmesan was crisp outside and moist inside. The pasta that comes with it was pretty good too, but it lacks a tiny bit of garlic or cheese. Everything was not hot enough by the time it got to the table. If they can improve on that, we thought this restaurant would do better. Was here for a girls night out with 18 others. We were a big group and occupied two big tables in the dining area. We got there at 5pm, hoping to start off with the happy hour menu but were told happy hour is only in the bar area. Given the group size, they could have been accommodating. Kind of bummed about that. Anyways, on to the good stuff. Interesting cocktails. I got the purple bee. Looked pretty and boy, was it strong! Loved it. Ordered the pane rustica & aglio olio. They kind of forgot the pane rustica and brought it at the end when I reminded them about it. Happens when you are in a big group. Food was excellent. Ordered pork and mushroom bucatini pasta and Pizza, for dessert we had their ice cream ( coconut, pistachios, and chocolate) and tiramisu. The ambiance had some live jazz nusic and even a tap dancer/flamenco? Anyway, it was a great experience. We didn't have a reservation but was seated promptly. The food was soooo good! I mean I love the pizza and the pasta had so much protein. The tiramisu was good and didn'ttaste too much of the coffee which is nice for me since I like more milder coffee taste. The pistachio ice cream though i love ! The staff was super nice and very attentive. Overall experience was awesome and definitely would love to go back and try other things. I visited Blu Sardinia during a work event, so we had dedicated servers and I cannot speak to how their regular dinner service is, but based on everything else it is likely very good as well. The ambiance is very intimate and works well for date nights and business dinners, and while I did see some families it did not strike me as a place that most people bring children. (Though they were very clearly welcome) The food was very good as well. Though the menu was small it had a pretty good variety to suit many tastes. read more

We wanted to find a restaurant that' would allow our puppy on the patio & had good food so we stopped here. As soon as you walk in you see their impressive wood fired oven- just beautiful. It was a Tuesday at 1:00 ish & there was no one on their nice patio which worked great! Kevin greeted us & took great care of us. We started with ice teas & the flat bread with roasted garlic & goat cheese- really delicious- we should have asked for more goat cheese lol. My husband & I each got the Caesar salad- I added prawns & he added chicken- both were really good- not enough dressing for my husband's liking- but again, we should have asked for more. I pretty much never like the croutons on salad but these were really good & the prawns were juicy & flavorful. My mom ordered the Margherita pizza- amazing! Wow! What a delightful and delicious local Italian restaurant. I've lived in this area for many years and visited developer take them all many times but cannot believe I've never stopped in. Finally came here last weekend with my family We had a wonderful dinner. The service was prompt and very friendly and the food was also delicious. Eerything we ordered was great. For appy's we had grilled octopus calamari and fried brussel sprouts. Did brussel sprouts had fried pancetta and then goat cheese tossed on top of it, and the grilled octopus came with some really good sauce. We also ordered the Sardinia cracker focaccia bread and olive oil for our bread plate. Remains we got the rack of lamb special, the scallop papperadel special, mushroom risotto with added scallops, and then yoki with Italian sausage. We all really loved our dishes. For dessert we spill it in order of the zeppoli. We will definitely come back as every dish was spot on perfect. As we left we saw some people ordering very ordinary things like a Caesar salad and pepperoni pizza. Do yourself a favor and do not do that. Get their pasta and other dishes... We had dinner here last week for the first time ( I'd been here once in the last ten years but only for drinks in the bar). We had a reservation through Open Table and we're seated promptly. The tables are quite close together for being in the midst of COVID19 and we were seated in a crowded section after walking by an empty section.... We were soon greeted and offered water and drinks. Bread is not complimentary but $6 for the table. We ordered 2 appetizers: calamari & bread with cheese and roasted garlic (they were out of the meatballs). Calamari was fine but nothing special and as I'm on a gf diet, I didn't try the other app. We had Caesar salads: pretty good, and shard the special-- lamb shank with polenta and green beans. The meat and polenta was fabulous! For dessert we had the chocolate almond cake which was so-so, it didn't taste very fresh. And a scoop of the chocolate peanut butter gelato. I found this place to be hit or miss. If you are going for drinks and dessert, expect a hit. Cocktails were good and the dessert were all excellent. Service was really good as well. I thought the pizza crust was delicious but the toppings were lacking. Example of the Fig and Prosciutto. 6 slices but max was 2 figs cut in half, at best 4 bites have fig. I would have been happier with small pieces throughout the pizza. Also I don't think the prosciutto was that good and the balsamic was on the sour side. Also I had a soup that was too salty for my liking. It wasn't a salt lick but you could tell the salt was there. read more

Terrible experience. We sat for over 10 minutes (two water refills) with no contact with a server. We also went for two specific items listed in their website menu. We even before we went to the restaurant to make sure it was really available, started an online order and it allowed us to add it to the cart for delivery. We were told by the hostess when I asked and she said they've changed the menu a lot and probably didn't update the site and that they don't have the two items. Wow! What a gem to find while I was in Redmond, WA! I ordered some gnocchi to go and they happily accommodated my vegetarian request. Thank you. I also ordered for pick up tight at opening and they graciously accommodated that as well. This place is lovely and the staff was very friendly. Now let's talk about the food. The ricotta gnocchi were spectacular little pillows of wonder. Both sauces were amazing and sadly we ate them before even getting a pic. They were that good. I did get a pic of dessert though. The ambiance is great. Romantic is you wish or casual if that's what you're going for. I have to admit, I have been coming here for almost 4 years and the service is lacking in the evening. When Sunday brunch began I fell in love with the French toast and Italian sausage. There has been a huge menu change and when I say menu change I mean Orowheat bread and Jimmy Dean sausage for $20. The classic breakfast eggs and potatoes $15. There wasn't a single thing on our $120 tab that was even close to writing home about. Really unfortunate. Blu can't keep employees and 8 days ago I asked about booking a large table for a party that the manager Jo couldn't help me with, still hasn't reached out. By now, Blu Sardinia is not new and is a fairly well established neighborhood restaurant serving higher end Italian food. It's a good niche for the Redmond area as there are limited higher end restaurants. Today's meal was tasty with good service. I chose two appetizers for my lunch, sharing some with my companion too. The grilled octopus was $14. Three good size chunks with three halves of baby blue potatoes. If the potatoes were some kind of greens, I would have easily eaten this alone as my lunch. The octopus has a good char to it and tender too. I like the skinny kinds of octopus better, but that's not their fault. The Moretti cauliflower, $12, was very lightly coated and flash fried. You can taste the crispiness in the breading. It comes with a cherry pepper aioli that was also on point and an excellent complement. This dish was phenomenal. My colleague had a butternut squash ravioli that he said was very tasty and gave it a thumbs up. I will return to try more of the menu. read more

Really great location and about a 10 mins walk from the Hilton Downtown. It's clear that the area surrounding is being upgraded with a ton of new commercial space being built and we felt safe walking around at night as well. Tons of parking in this "mall/commercial plaza" as well. There is outdoor and indoor seating and nice decor inside - very inviting and just open and relaxing (you can dress up or just come in pretty casually as well). Our server was awesome and we were really impressed with the shared plate - the pasta of that day, the calamari, and the cesar salad with fresh anchovies. The meatball and the sausage flatbread were ok - not amazing as compared to other places, but good overall. We capped the night with the gelato - the rum one was to die for. Normally, we wouldn't have ordered that flavor, but our server talked us into it which she was SO RIGHT. Definitely a great place to have a chill dinner and you'll get a great meal for sure. read more

The salad with steak was a $28 plate of sadness. The fig and prosciutto pizza was good, but not worth returning for. Desserts (tiramisu, lemon cake, and fried donuts) were nothing more than a dessert purchased from Safeway. Service was prompt and good. Never going back. Very pricey for below subpar food. read more

In town for a conference, stopped at Blu Sardinia for some Italian fare. Outside seating was in order on this warm evening; there are about 10 tables along both sides of the restaurant, which is located in a shopping center. The sidewalk seating is separated from the parking lot with a short wall and secluded with potted plants and trees, so road noise is muted. Rather than a heavy entree, opted for an assortment of appetizers. The star choice were the meatballs. 4 meatballs are served in a cast iron skillet, sauced in a slightly sweet tomato basil gravy, with shaved parmesan garnish. The meatballs are all beef, with pine nuts and raisins. Raisins are an unusual choice for meatballs but added a unique taste. The cavolfiore fritti (fried cauliflower) was also very good. Plump crowns of cauliflower are breaded and deep fried golden brown. The cauliflower was perfectly al dente and the breading crisp, flavorful and not greasy. A cup of cherry pepper aioli accompanies for dipping. The aioli is bland, tasting more of mayonnaise than anything else. A spicier, bolder dip would be a better complement. Lastly is the Pane Rustica. This is parmesan flat bread, accompanied by a cup of warm goat cheese and a buld of roasted garlic. The individual ingredients were delicious, but the dish would be better executed with the cheese and garlic on the bread from the kitchen, toasted. Chopping the garlic and spreading the cheese at the table is a hassle and takes away from the delicious taste. Sarah, did a great job explaining the menu and checking frequently to ensure full glass and clearing dishes, all with a cheerful smile. Thank you! I came here once a couple years ago and had left with the impression that the food was decent, but was on the pricier side for the portion served. This time we ordered both of special mains, and although certainly even more expensive, the food was tasty! ----- Rack of Lamb: lamb chops with saffron risotto, green beans, and red wine rosemary sauce ($36). All four lamb chops were grilled to a good temperature and paired well with the glaze drizzled over them. The green beans were fresh and risotto was creamy with the expected texture. ----- Scallop Pappardelle: pasta in a basil pesto cream sauce with mushroom and asparagus and pan-seared sea scallops on top ($34). ----- Housemade Gelato Trio: a choice of three flavors ($10). You can order just a single scoop, but we decided to sample all three of the ones they had available: stracciatella, berry mascarpone, and peanut butter. The flavors really stood out and surprisingly our favorite was the peanut butter. ----- Mandorla Limonata: Mandorla grappa, limoncello liqueur, fresh lemon, prosecco ($14). ----- We arrived for a late weekday dinner close to 8 PM and the restaurant was surprisingly busy still. I requested for a table in the little outdoor patio as inside was too dark for my preference from all the blinds rolled down to block out the sun. Service was great. However when my plate came out there was only clams and shrimp. I assume they ran out of mussels, which is disappointing considering how expensive the dishes are here. It would have also been nice to have been given an explanation instead of just being quietly slipped a dish with missing items. I noticed this about 3 bites in and double checked the menu. The dish itself is $24 and not really worth it in my opinion. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't much better than most pasta places that have dishes for $12 with bigger portions Beef short rib ravioli: this plate literally comes with 7 pieces of ravioli for $26. If you order this, be prepared to leave hungry. However, I will have to say that this dish was extremely good, creamy, and savory. I loved the taste but I do not think it was worth the price paid. Our party of four attended a special evening at Blu Sardinia on January 2, 2024 in order to hear flamenco musicians and observe a flamenco dancer during dinner. It should have been a fun evening but was marred by the service. When we arrived we were seated by Chrisi, who I thought was the hostess. She was constantly on the move and not very focused on our table; turns out she was our server. She approached us after a few minutes to ask about a drink order which we did and told her were needed a little more time to check out the menu. My girlfriend and I ordered a Caesar salad and the Pasta Di Mare, which lists the ingredients as linguini pasta with clams, mussels, octopus, prawns and fresh fish tossed with a white wine tomato sauce. At this point we asked Chrisi if the dish contained any calamari, due to my girlfriend's severe allergy to calamari. Chrisi told us that she understood because she carries an EpiPen in order to deal with her own allergies; we thought that was a reassuring comment that indicated her sensitivity to the seriousness of food allergies. We again asked her to let the kitchen know to make sure that even though calamari wasn't listed on the menu that they not add it to the meal. As we listened to the music we ate our salad and then the main course was delivered. During the meal we noticed that the dish did indeed contain calamari rings; we got Chrisi's attention and told her about our situation with the calamari. At first she didn't recognize the calamari and then claimed that the kitchen staff "had all been sick" and may have been paying attention to her order. Again, she told us she carried an EpiPen and maybe my girlfriend should carry one to avoid any allergic reaction. Her attitude towards us seemed to be that she was treating us like kindergarteners who didn't have enough good sense to take care of ourselves. She offered no apology and left; we asked the busser if we could speak with the manager. Shortly thereafter Jocelyn arrived and we explained the situation to her. She was not aware of any problem and we explained the liability issue the restaurant would have faced if my girlfriend had had a serious reaction to the meal. She apologized for the trouble and took care of us. It's a shame that a good restaurant doesn't have more caring and professional servers. My girlfriend has owned restaurants and worked in numerous dining establishments and hotels. Training was always a priority and customer service is the main negative that people remember about their experiences when they dine out. read more
