I very rarely write reviews, and even more rarely do I write negative reviews, but this place is worth the occasion. Before I discuss the food, I should say that the setting was actually very beautiful. It's a great place to look at, almost good enough for me to give it 2 stars. The food is very, very bland. Virtually nothing is well executed. We had a platter of fried seafood for an appetizer, the Calamari was literally just squid dumped in the most basic batter you can imagine and served with a mediocre sauce. Everything else was pretty much the same - you can get more flavor out of any sushi restaurant's tempura batter. It came with a "salad" garnish, which was really just a bunch of leafy greens without any form of dressing. Normally this is no big deal, except there was a TON of it, like it was meant to be a part of the dish. For entrees we had the veal and their seafood pasta. The veal was under cooked and the sauce tasted and felt like it was 100% butter. Very bland, very unhealthy, very disappointing. The steamed vegetables it came with were just that - steamed. Not even salt added. Very bland. The seafood pasta was served al dente, common in Italian restaurants but unpleasant given their choice of pasta noodle was rolled pasta instead of more of a string-like pasta like spaghetti. The flavors didn't blend together very well at all. We asked for extra shrimp in the dish (and paid for it) and got a _total_ of 6 shrimp. This leads me to believe you get 3-4 normally, which is embarrassing. These were not jumbo shrimp by any stretch of the imagination, either. Finally, we had a side of asparagus with "pancetta". I put pancetta in quotes because they served asparagus with a single strip of bacon. Pancetta is a different cut - you can't call a smaller-than-Denny's slice of bacon a pancetta dish and not get away with a negative review. The last straw, the bill for this magnificent failure of a meal: 90 bucks for 2. That is without any kind of alcohol or even a dessert. For half that price you can go to Tropea right up the street and get a stellar Italian dinner, and for the same price you can go to Daniel's or Anthony's and totally blow it out of the water. Avoid this place. Let it close and hopefully something much, much better will fill the spot. Extremely disappointed. read more

Blu Sardinia is the type of place you'd go for a date night out or a celebration. It's large, easy to find and very classy. The service and food was good. We got a few appetizers - fried cauliflower, salad, and grilled asparagus. Loved them all - especially the asparagus. It was cooked so perfectly and had a nice touch of charcoal from the grill. I dislike when there's an overwhelming smokey flavor to my food from a grill, but this was just right and the asparagus was nice and crispy. For our main course, we got the Culurgiones and the lamb (because even if I'm at a seafood restaurant, I can't steer away from a lamb dish). The Culurgiones were fluffs of truffle heaven. Would definitely recommend this. The lamb was above average, but I was not surprised. I seriously just could not keep my eyes off it on the menu even though I told myself not to get lamb at a seafood restaurant. I would definitely come back as my overall experience was great. read more

I came here with my boyfriend, mother, and sister on a Saturday night right after the premiere of the restaurant. Maybe that was our first mistake. Our reservation was at 7. My boyfriend and I arrived at 6:55, my mother and sister at 7:05. It didn't really matter, because we weren't seated until 8:10. The area at the front of the restaurant where we were supposed to wait was absolutely packed with other couples and families who had also had reservations for 7 and were also waiting. Standing chest to chest with hungry strangers for an hour + wasn't the most pleasurable thing I've ever done, especially considering that the hostesses who were there to placate us were young, under trained, and absolutely overwhelmed. Finally! We are seated upstairs. Bread is served. Bread is good, and immediately scarfed down. We order appetizers. We get the caprese, ahi tuna, and a salad. The caprese was meh. The tomatoes lacked flavor and the dish was under seasoned.The tuna was DELICIOUS, and the only reason this review is for 2 stars and not 1. The salad was average and unremarkable. Main course. My mother orders the lamb shank. When she receives it, it is cold. She sends it back for "a turn in the microwave". When it returns it is still cold. My sister orders the cheese pizza. It's fine, but the crust is under cooked, flavorless, and floppy. Boyfriend orders the potato ravioli. It is despairingly small. For a $20 pasta dish, we were all expecting more than 6 small ravioli on the plate. We, apparently, were dumb. He promptly ordered a cheese pizza, which was the same as my sisters. I had the risotto. It was under-cooked as well. The rice was less "al dente" and more "crunchy", which was unfortunate because the sauce was tasty. Dessert. The tiramisu wasn't very well executed, again. The lady fingers were dry and unflavored. The panna cotta wasn't the right texture. It was supposed to be light and custard like, but it was heavy and dense. My guess is the whipped cream in the dessert was over whipped. After all was said and done, our bill ended up being about $60-70 per person/ Too expensive to justify that level of quality. My advice: go to the Coho Cafe across the parking lot and spare yourself the grief. read more

It's interesting to walk into this beautifully decorated restaurant on a late Sunday lunch, when we were the only party inside the place. (there's another couple sitting outside). The Italian food is great, we had: - Tagliatelle con Polpettine di Vitello $15-ish - Egg pasta with veal meatballs and tomato sauce - Insalata di mare, $15 appetizer. a good variety of seafood to wet your appetite. 2 large interlocked shrimps on top. The server, although alone, was still polite and very attentive to our party (well, since we are the only party seated at the time). Overall, I would definitely come back a happening evening and try out their wood fired pizza oven. The dessert case in front looks great too! read more

I had high expectations for this place and was very very disappointed. The atmosphere is beautiful but the top 100 music didn't fit the "italian theme". This is not a kid friendly place. Took my sister and kiddos and was left ordering pizza for them since their was no kid friendly meals. They didn't like it at all not to mention that the chicken risotto was so bland w no taste at all!!! Tasked like a very expensive lean cuisine. No salt or seasoning... The chicken tasted boiled not grilled. It was a very expensive lunch for horrible tasking food! We left wishing we had gone to Olive Garden and would've at least had a great salad and bread sticks to take home for half the price. Don't think we will be revisiting this establishment. We had great expectations and were following the progress on Facebook, awaiting the opportunity to venture in to the heart of Redmond. The establishment fit with the pretentious nature of Redmond in our view. The waiter was nice enough and very helpful. We did not appreciate the hard sell on additions to our meals. For $60+ for dinner without booze this should have been a lot better than it was. The most overpriced item we purchased was an $11.00 salad which was a few leaves stuffed in to some sort of bread item which was almost too hard to eat. We ordered a risotto dish and a pasta with wild boar. Both at $18.00 which would have been fine if they were memorable. Both dishes seemed to have the identical bland tomato based sauce. The risotto was supposed to have asparagus. We did find a few paper thin slices. The wild boar did not really taste like any pork product I have ever had and the tiny pieces were so tough they were hard to eat and could have been any mystery meat. The music was very loud and more like what I'd expect in a dance club. It will probably be a big hit as a trendy East Side eatery. But if you are expecting Sardinia or any quaint eatery in the real Italy, which we have visited, you will be disappointed. Lots of potential here! Great new restaurant in Redmond. Blu Sardinia only opened a few weeks ago and they're still doing work in the exterior. We were expecting maybe a few blemishes... but there really weren't any. ATMOSPHERE: Ambiance is pretty nice... we were wondering how they were going to fit a full size restaurant in a space that was formerly occupied by a Tully's but they took advantage of the high ceilings to create additional dining space on an upper floor. There's a large bar area at the entrance and plenty of dining space in the back. Their music selection could maybe be a little better... I wouldn't characterize it as Top 100, but was maybe a bit to up-tempo and contemporary for a place that evokes rustic and coastal cuisine. SERVICE: Our server was very friendly and attentive. She gave us some good suggestions about the menu. FOOD: We were there for the Dine Around Seattle promotion and we each took advantage of the 3 course menu on offer. I had the swordfish carpaccio and the lamb meatball tagliatelle and my wife had the sarda salad and the clam and fish roe spaghetti. Carpaccio was amazing. Well presented, super fresh and delicious. Yum! Sarda salad was very nice as well. Maybe not quite as memorable, but still quite good. Clam and fish roe spaghetti was very good if you're a seafood lover. Our server recommended it and it was great. Intense sea flavors without being overpowering. Lamb tagliatelle was fantastic. The lamb meatballs were delicious and they paired really well with the tomato sauce. Finally for desert we had gelato and the panna cotta. Both were very good. We cleaned every plate that came to our table. Their bar and wines were good as well. I had a very well made Sidecar to start. Ohhhh Emmmm Geeee. So amazing!! I dined at Blu Sardinia for the first time last night with a friend. We were both very impressed with the atmosphere, service and food. We ordered two pasta dishes - traditional Bolognese and the Culurgiones (which are beautiful fluffy ravioli pillows filled with potato and dressed in truffle butter!) - followed by two dessert choices of the chocolate souffle and a light lemon almond cake. Everything was perfectly prepared, seasoned and presented. I doubt there is a poor choice on the menu though. It was so hard to decide! We were taken care of by a very friendly gentleman, who we assumed is the owner. He was attentive, welcoming and entertained all of our questions and asks for recommendations about the menu. My review.... Food was good, presentation was great, seating was a bit cramped. We went for Valentine's day and was seated upstairs. We were seated at 6:45, right on time for our Valentine's Day reservation. our waitress came by 5 minutes later asking about drinks... we ordered 2 diet cokes.... she came back 10 minutes later to take our order. Still no diet cokes. After the salads where served, I asked again for our drinks. Finally it came. People sat next to us (about 15 minutes afterus) and ordered the same as us (Valentines dinner special). We proceeded to wait and wait for our dinner 25 minutes.... and it came, but was delivered to our neighbors table... they eat it. We waited another 15 minutes for ours to be delivered (by a runner) not our waitress/barmaid. We were almost done before our waitress asked if everything was ok. It was such a quick flyby that we couldn't even ask for a refill on our sodas. Food was good, service spoiled it. I left a small tip with a big frowny face on the ticket.... We were "comp'd" our sodas for the slow wait, but I expected more for my $100 (2 entrees/2 salads/2 sodas) read more

We have been watching them build Blu Sardinia in Redmond for more than six months.I am thrilled to say that the wait was worth it. It will be both wonderful and dangerous (in a good way) to have this outstanding eating place less than two blocks from our home. Blu Sardinia opened Friday. Our usual custom is to wait a month or so after a new restaurant opens before we try it to give them the chance to work the kinks out. But we had been anticipating this opening for so long, that we had to go on Saturday We had reservations (made on their website) for an early dinner and when we arrived we were greeted and seated immediately. Service-wise, it seemed to be all hands on deck as there were more servers than we expected. For about 20 minutes the staff outnumbered the guests. It was a little disconcerting that every time we were "caught" looking around the restaurant, someone would rush over and ask if we needed anything. After being seated we were greeted by our server, Julie. She was very welcoming and we think was a little surprised by how much we already knew about the menu. (We had been reading it online for a week.) We started with cocktails. My bride had the Euphoria. A gin-based drink with St. Germain, lemon and sage. It is served up in a martini glass. I would normally have ordered my favorite cocktail, a negroni (gin, campari and sweet vermouth) but the menu had an alternative called the Al Capone with the same ingredients except instead of gin, Bulliet rye. I now have a new favorite cocktail. For our appetizers Kathleen had the Minestra di Ceci e Finocchi. A delicious soup with fregola pasta and fennel soup with ricotta salt. In the week before we went that I had been perusing the menu, I was thrilled to see that Blu Sardina had three dishes with my favorite food in them: octopus. So there was no doubt in my mind that I would order one of the three appetizers with octopus in it. I chose the Moscardini, whole baby octopus in a spicy tomato sauce. The other two dishes I will save for later. Especially the Insalata di Mare (a seafood salad) which I think will be perfect for a hot, summer day. Prior to bringing the appetizers, Julie brought us some wonderful focaccia and flat bread with olive oil & herbs for dipping. Later she brought more so we could sponge up our soup and sauce respectively. For our entrees, Kathleen chooses the risotto. To be honest, if she hadn't ordered it, I would have as it sounds amazing: Risotto with artichokes, zucchini, asparagus, pecorino and oyster mushrooms. That's what is in the risotto and then you add a protein if you want. Choose from chicken, shrimp or what Kathleen chose, the lamb. I did get to try it and I can say, it was wonderful and I can't wait to try it on our next visit. The rice was done perfectly and it was a true risotto and not just rice with cheese as many restaurants do. For my entree I chose a pasta and seafood dish called Maccarronis de Busa Pescatore. Artisanal Sardinian pasta with fresh scallops (some of the best I have had), prawns, sea bass in a tomato sauce. All of this surrounded by some wonderful clams and mussels. To say it was superb would be a gross understatement. We had ordered a glass of the Sardinian wine we had read so much about on their website, Cannonau Sella & Mosca to accompany our entrees. We loved the wine and truly liked the way it was presented. I hate when you order wine by the glass and they bring it out already in the glass. Instead of doing this, Julie brought out our wine glasses followed by a single-serving carafe of the wine. It was a good size pour and we loved the wine. Now it was time for dessert. We didn't have to make a huge choice as one of the selections was a trio of their desserts. It included a layered strawberry panna cotta, a very nice tiramisu and my favorite, an outstanding cannoli. I can't wait to go back and just order the cannoli. For the final test, I ordered coffee. For me, a restaurant can do a great job throughout but have lousy coffee is almost a deal breaker. Blu Sardinia did not disappoint. I am a true coffee lover. There coffee did not disappoint. It reminded me of my Sicilian grandmother's. Blu Sardinia is not cheap. The dinner, drinks, appetizers, entrees and dessert I described brought us a check of a little over $130. Was it too much? No. We considered it a good value. We were thrilled with the decor and ambiance, the food far exceeded our expectations and Julie's service was outstanding. If I have one concern it would be something easily easily fixed. I felt a little rushed. Everything came out rather quickly. Since there was no line at the door and still some empty tables, it would have been nice to have a few more minutes between course. The table had barely been been cleared from our appetizers when servers were setting down our entrees. Little things like pacing are so something that get better with time. I went to Blu Sardinia on Sunday afternoon for lunch. It is so beautiful, peaceful and elegant. Sandy walls and deep brown woodwork complement the artistic light fixtures and accents of cobalt blue. I had the Margarita pizza and it was amazing. Sauce, cheese and basil are usually pretty easy for a restaurant to do well, and they did. The crust was what really shined, thin enough to be light, and thick enough to hold it's shape. The staff was attentive and never overbearing. The whole experience from start to finish was exactly what a leisurely Sunday lunch should be. I highly recommend Blu Sardinia. read more

So nice to have an upscale restaurant on the Eastside! The interior is bright and airy and a rustic Italian vibe. We were immediately greeted when we walked in and decided to sit at the bar. The bartender was such a nice man and gave us very helpful information and a background on the restaurant. The food was fantastic and the presentation was just as good. The happy hour menu looks great as well! So happy to find this gem right in downtown Redmond with wonderful healthy Italian dishes. We will be back many times for sure! read more

Went today (Sunday) with my family for some desserts for dinner. We had no reservation and without any problems we got a nice table. We ended up ordering two apertizers, two coffees and four dessets. With tip it was over $70. Way too much for the amount of food we got. Yes, it was delicious but way too pricy! $11 for ice cream?! Other items were in more reasonable prices but the portions were tini. If you want to spend similar $$ but get more food just go to Coho across the parking lot. If you are willing to spend more and eat great food that's the place to go! One more, we went with kids and I was not too comfortable with noises they made. The tables are close to each other so it is not a great place for a familiar with little kids. You will have to ask them to stay quiet way to often. For a family meal go to Coho, it always loud there so no one would care. read more

It's not really fair to rate the poor service we received since they are brand new and still working out the kinks: they had a lovely wait staff who just couldn't figure out which of them was supposed to serve us. I'm sure they'll work this out shortly. What I didn't care for - thus the 3 stars - was the very small portions at very large prices. The food was fine, but no better than nearby Tropea or Sages and at a significantly higher cost. I'm willing to pay a lot for truly excellent food when it is truly excellent; this was just "very good". Tables are a bit crowded together which made conversation awkward, and the afternoon sun beat directly into the west-facing windows. Other than this the atmosphere was lively and friendly. I was predisposed not to like this new Redmond restaurant, truth be known. Because I live nearby, I've been watching its construction nearly on a daily basis, asking the Bartell's folks next door when this restaurant was going to open, reading its story online, checking out its menu, etc. Over two months ago, I emailed Blu Sardinia (there's a "Contact Us" link on its website), asking them specifically when their opening night would be, if my husband and I could attend, telling them how excited we were that they were coming to our neighborhood, and providing all my contact info. They never responded. Not even a canned reply. The non-response was a real turn-off for me (I work in client services, so to lose a potential loyal customer, who lived next door and voiced excitement about the product or service, was quite surprising and disappointing to me). Anyhow, the restaurant really looks nice, aesthetically, and my kid and I really wanted to go out for dinner tonight, so we decided to try out this restaurant, despite my never hearing from them when they were opening (and my missing their opening. Bummer!). I booked a 6pm reservation through their website earlier in the day, requesting a window seat if possible. When we showed up at 6pm on the dot, they had no record of our reservation. No problem, thankfully; they promptly sat us (not by a window, but I didn't ask them in person for such a table, and it didn't appear any were available). No problem: our table was cute and comfortable. In fact, the whole restaurant interior is cute and welcoming. There is an upper lever which is primarily reserved for private or larger parties. The main, lower level is the primary dining area and is divided in half: east side is the bar area, with a curvilinear counter with bar stools, and high tables along the curved glass walls; and, the west side is the sit-down dining area with more conventional tables and chairs or upholstered benches. I loved the bar area, and if I weren't there with my minor daughter, I would have eaten in that section. There is a fabulous fire-stoked wall "oven" mid-restaurant, behind the counter when you enter the place, and here they bake their flatbread pizzas (which looked pretty good! I watched them make a few). The dining area is nice, too, but has a different vibe. There are a few opaque glass dividers that provide the few dining areas some privacy, but for the most part, it's a small restaurant with not a ton of tables. As this place gets more popular, I foresee it being more difficult to get a seat. I think it'd be wise to reserve in advance. (I hear they just went live on OpenTable today, too. Bonus!). We had the loveliest server, Melissa, who was very knowledgeable about the menu. And the busboys were super attentive, too. All in all, the service was impeccable. The breads they brought us were lovely, especially the paper-thin, ultra-crispy flatbread. (The other bread, cut into squares, was a little too saturated in olive oil for my tastes, but my kid liked them). We both ordered salads. My kid had the beet salad which she inhaled but said it was a tad spicy at the end. I had the Insalata di Mare (the seafood salad) and OMG it was truly fantastic. I have a lot of dietary issues and can't eat much, but this salad was so light, so fresh, so refreshing. There was octopus, clams, shrimp and oysters (I think), all of the best quality, with a light yet fragrant lemon-oil "dressing" (so light, I hesitate to call it a dressing). It really enhanced the seafood and was perfect for me. I loved this salad! The couple across from us were having lamb shanks with a side of asparagus. Wow, the portions were hearty and the meat and the vegetables looked amazing. They were clearly relishing the meal. My kid had the lemon tart for dessert which she savored, along with a café latte, which came in a large bowl-like "mug" (similar to the bowls of latte we get in Montreal). She said it was wonderful. So, for our two salads, the dessert and coffee, with the tip, the tab came to nearly $45, so it sure wasn't inexpensive. But man, was it good. Excellent quality, excellent service, lovely menu. I'd ideally like to give this place 4.5 stars, which is pretty amazing for a restaurant that literally just opened a few days ago. read more

I like Blu Sardinia - it is a beautiful restaurant! We sat in the restaurant but next time I would opt for the bar. I'm very excited to have such a classy bar in Redmond! This is a great place for a date or wine and small bites with friends. The service was a bit slow however it is expected for such a new establishment. The food was good. I ordered a pizza and it was thin and light, just what I expected from a wood fire grill. The caprese appetizer was delicious! My only complaint is that the food is VERY expensive. Some of the entrees are close to $30 and above. I can't swallow that in Redmond, especially if I'm looking for a place to frequent week after week. We paid $140 for 2 adults and one child. read more

A tasteful, sophisticated Italian restaurant like Blue Sardinia is a much needed addition to the Redmond restaurant scene. I'm not sure why there are so many complaints about the seating - to me, it feels intimate and offers a nice chance to chat with fellow diners. I ate here for the first time tonight and had the Insalata di Mare, which was bright and fresh, and the simple but delicious spaghetti special with prawns and scallops. My scallops were seared perfectly and the spaghetti was just right. My fiancé had the lamb entree and LOVED it. I was pleasantly surprised to see things like baby octopus on the menu. The wine recommendations were great, and so was the service (granted, we came on a slower Sunday night). I love the bar area and gelato selection. Our waitress shared the restaurant has gone through a few menu changes, and a chef change, since opening, and now has found its groove. So go back if you haven't tried it in a few months! read more

Overall food is good Italian with a lot of vegetarian options and fantastic service. Prices I think are not $$ more like $$$ to $$$$ for the item. No salad should be over $10. Theirs were $12-$14. Main dishes $24-$40. Overall great place but it's more expensive than you might think. Take a look at their menu before you go. Wine selection is top notch. read more

Went there for a rather large birthday party. The restaurant is very beautiful inside: the combination of modern and Italian village feel is well done. We were seated upstairs, which was nice and cozy. The food however isn't too impressive. I ordered the lamb trio. I've had better lamb, but this was good. It was well seasoned, with an interesting fruit sauce on it. The portion size was low for the price of the dish. Just 3 ribs, a 2"x2" filet mignon and a sausage, with a few veggies. I tried a friend's pizza and it was undercooked, which is a shame given that the restaurant boasts a nice pizza oven with seating around it. Since we were a large group, the owner came to greet us, he was very nice, took pictures.... read more

3.5 stars. The service was fantastic. The food was good but not superb. Although it's not a wood burning oven, my son really liked the freshly baked pizza. The seafood salad was ok - tasty but didn't taste the freshness exactly. The only downside was the price/value ratio. It'd be a good place for a date - cute decor, fancy table settings with great service - but there are so many other choices for families nearby (sushi, pho, Thai). It was exciting to find that a new fine dining place had come to Redmond and knowing how restaurants need to find their feet and settle down, I refrained from reviewing Blu Sardinia until I had a few meals there. At this time, about 8 months after their opening, I am comfortable in giving them a solid four stars. The food and service is excellent, but still a little on the spotty side. I've been a single diner, dined with friends, and challenged them with a party of 10 and 2 babies (who spread bread crumbs far and wide) for lunch. While the meals are excellent and very flavorful, I've had bread that was a little "toasty" - the grill was too hot and made nice black, bitter burnt lines in it. A friend has had a salad with salmon which was still frozen in the center - this was made right of course, but should never have happened. Substitutions have been gracefully made when requested and even suggestions made for guests I've brought who are diet restricted (pescatarian, low-carb, gluten free). Just like they should be in any fine restaurant. Favorite dishes : The risotto is to die for and every fish option I've had has been flavorful and the desserts can't be beat. The tiramisu is delightfully smooth with intensely flavored coffee bombs when you bite into the pieces of ladies fingers. The panna cotta is a personal favorite (if you enjoy panna cotta) - delightfully smooth and flavorful, without being intensely sweet. Gelato flavors change out regularly and they are happy to serve you just once scoop. I am not a wine drinker, but friends who are have been happy with their offerings and the knowledgeable staff who were happy to make pairing suggestions. The ambiance is modern with some lovely pieces of glass art adorning the walls and plenty of daylight with large windows. Once they've sorted out their kitchen, I would be happy to give them the full five stars, but in the meantime, I will continue dining there. read more

Not our first visit our prior was great which is why we were so disappointedthis time..... My husband and I went out on a date night and were very much looking forward to dinner together. Unfortunately, that wasn't too be.....we ordered drinks, after repeating two times I would like a dirty martini (waiter didn't understand the first time I requested), and brussel sprouts. Our waiter returned with 2 drinks. My husband's was the correct item. Mine was not....so again requested a dirty martini. When my drink arrived, my glass was half filled and wasn't a dirty martini....the waiter did offer to correct again. However, at that point, do you really want to try again? Being charged for a specialty drink and getting the wrong drink left a bad taste. Our meals were vastly different. 3 stars for the ambiance & the neat design of the restaurant. They've done a beautiful job of Italian modern decor. The building itself is a circular shape with tall Windows throughout the front of the restaurant. We were really impressed. The hostess was clearly less excited. She sat us in the back sandwiched between a party of 4 & a party of 2. Littlest table ever. As other people have mentioned, a little too intimate for our liking. Neither myself or my boyfriend are very social-able with strangers, so he checked to see if we could sit in the bar as its open seating. This was our mistake. The bartender, while very nice, was clearly overwhelmed and pulling his hair out. There were maybe 3 other couples seated in the bar area, & then a party of 6 came in AFTER us just to get drinks. He told us 2 minutes & then he'd get our drink order. Nope more like 10 as the party of 6 received their drinks first, & then he disappeared for awhile, checked on the other guests, & THEN we were served. The party of 6 moved to the back of the restaurant leaving us & the other couples which would leave one to believe that maybe one person could handle this....he told us bread would come out. Nope. We didn't get any, but the 4 person party behind us that came in after us got some. Our dishes came out pretty quick. The quickest part of this whole experience. I had the prawn ravioli and bf got the sausage pizza. They have a beautiful wood oven, so I had high hopes for their pizza. As far as prices, I thought they were fair for the area & type of cuisine. Italian is not known as being inexpensive especially if it's of good quality. Would I say it was? Possibly...5-6 pieces of decent raviolis barely stuffed with filing. Honestly was a little tasteless and was Luke warm. Bf enjoyed his pizza. Nice thin crust but it didn't have that crispy char you would think would come from the oven. No herbs as promised from the description on the menu. We decided to order dessert - the tiramisu & a scoop of gelato. The cookies were SOAKED with espresso. It was quite good, & the chocolate gelato was awesome! Luckily, we had a Groupon, & the bartender didn't act annoyed by this. Many times you get the snotty tude when you present these, but he was gracious about it. It took forever for him to take our money. I don't know what they had him doing, but he was very rushed and overwhelmed with not that many people to tend to. He kept disappearing & running around. We will be trying this place again but will not sit at the bar. Could have just been a bad night. read more

Friends like this restaurant so we thought we'd try it. I don't plan to go back. For the price the experience was not worth it. We had a reservation and the place was quite empty. So the hostess sits us directly across from the kitchen door. The waiter was arrogant. And frankly, the food was just OK. I think they have the salads already premade as they came out in a nanno second. The décor is really nice as is the location. But if you can't provide welcoming service and excellent food, it really doesn't matter. read more

Most average good food. If this block did not have at least 5 great dinning places I'd say... This is a good Italian meal. Truth is there are some really good eats near by, like JJ Mahoney's... While Blu Sardinia has very good food,nice ambiance and a decent wine selection the main reason we are regulars is their excellent bartender, Tony. We look forward to our weekly visits because when Tony is working, you get excellent service from this very knowledgeable bartender, and as an added bonus he is very personable and entertaining. He greets us by name when we arrive and is very attentive and familiar with our dining and drinking preferences. We refer to him as "Dinner and a Show Tony." I hope he stays at Blu for a long time. I also hope the management realizes what a gem they have in Tony. As we are frequent customers, we've gotten to know other regulars who have the same opinion. Stopped in for dinner and wound up sitting at the bar since the bartender was so nice. Started with the caprese salad which was amazing! Then I had the chicken which was really good. Love this place. We ate outside a couple of weeks ago and the food and staff were amazing. The filet with the roasted brussels sprouts was incredible. We went here when it first opened and weren't super impressed, but they have definitely gotten better. I also had the affogato for dessert and it was wonderful. I highly recommend. read more
