Let me start off by saying that the product, the actual blue boxes themselves, are a good product. Eco-friendly, sturdy, easy to use/stack. The cost of the boxes isn't far off from what you would pay at Home Depot or Menards for cardboard and tape. After using BluBox-It on two separate occasions I can say that delivery/pick-up service is terrible. The delivery drivers arrive at any hour of the day without any notice or not at all. Last year, I scheduled an 8am drop off on Saturday morning. They arrived at 6:30am which was fine since I was home. When they were suppose to come pick them up the called me 5 hours after their 2 hour pick up window saying they were there to get the boxes. No advance notice that they were running behind schedule. And then when we rescheduled the pick up they again arrived at 6:30am on a Saturday. When I called the company they said they could not give me any sort of refund or credit for the inconvenience. But they did provide a discount offer for the next time I used them. Now the second time that I used them I scheduled the drop off between 9am and 11am. The driver showed up at 7:30am while I was out running some errands. Fortunately, they were able to return during their scheduled window. However, again they missed their 2 hour pick up window for the boxes with no notice. I felt that the product itself deserves at least two starts. However, the delivery and customer service deserve 0 stars. read more

They have amazing service. You box the boxes online and they are delivered as promised. The return is even easier because it is set when you do your initi order. The gentleman that dropped them off and picked them called ahead and was super friendly and helpful. I wouldn't move any other way. The product is reusable so no boxes to the recycling bin. My wife and I used BluBox-It to move our 2-BR apartment from downtown Chicago to the northern suburbs in late February 2017. We had a fantastic experience with this company and their service. Instead of having to buy dozens and dozens of expensive cardboard boxes that we'd have to throw out anyway, we paid MUCH less for 50 of their large and durable blue bins. I cannot overemphasize the affordability of this service combined with superior customer service. The bins were delivered directly to our apartment about two weeks before our move so we had plenty of time to pack. The bins have an enormous amount of interior volume, so we were able to fill them with more than we expected. The bins are also quick strong, so they can be stacked 10 units high without any compression or instability; this saved room during the packing phase. With a little bit of care on our part and lots of packing paper, our possessions fit snugly in the bins and didn't move an inch during the transfer. The moving company transported the packed blue bins along with our furniture directly to the new place. It took them very little time to move the bins out to the truck because they so easily fit on dollies, stacked high and secure. I felt confident that our packed items would be safe because of how heavy-duty and thick the plastic is. The lids have locking teeth (plus provided zip-ties to cinch them closed), so there were no worries about boxes opening and spilling during transit. After unpacking our items, the BluBox-It customer service team scheduled a pick-up of the empty bins at our convenience. You have up to two weeks to unpack, but we only needed a few days. The guy came early in the morning and took them away. We felt great about not wasting a ton of boxes. These blue boxes made our move EASY, FAST, & CHEAP. We will be using BluBox-It again for our next move. read more

We had a few hangups in the beginning working with the third-party moving company. You can request a time and day for delivery/pickup online and then STI Moving calls you to confirm. I used PayPal in order to have a 'paper trail,' if needed. They said they don't work past 5 p.m., even though they allow you to request any time of day on their website. I said it had to be after 6 p.m. as I'm not available until that time. They said that should be all right. The day came for delivery, 6 p.m. came.... 7 p.m. came.... I called and no one answered. I called the dispatch emergency number and no one answered. I left three voicemails and no one called me back. 8 p.m. came.... 9 p.m. came... I realized the boxes weren't coming that evening and retired to my bedroom only for my phone to ring at 9:20 p.m. and a guy saying he was here with our boxes. Ohhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh k. Glad I wasn't asleep. A call confirming would have been appreciated. Or a call after they received my messages. The boxes themselves are fantastic. They were clean and looked brand-new. The pricing with BluBox-It is the best in the city, which is why we chose this company. They provided zip ties and labels, which were both extremely helpful. If we hadn't had these plastic crates, I'm guessing our crappy movers would have busted literally everything in cardboard boxes. Picking up our crates was a much more pleasant experience. I was given a call around 5:30 p.m. to confirm they would be there at 6 p.m. They arrived at 6:30 p.m., which is fine. We tipped both delivery and pick-up guys as a 'thank you' for bringing them up our stairs and down the elevator. Again, the boxes are are wonderful, the delivery a little spotty. The value? My husband and I used BluBox-it to move from our 1 bedroom apartment and into our new home. I got the idea of using reusable boxes from a friend who had used another company. After comparing prices BluBox-it was a good deal and we booked the 1 bedroom (30 box) package. The boxes were very durable and kept everything that was breakable safe. The handles were great because it made moving the boxes very easy. I also liked the capability of being able to stack the boxes on top of each other. I scheduled the drop of the boxes to be between 3pm-5pm since the day the boxes would be dropped off we were coming home from a trip. They gave me a call that morning and asked if the delivery could be earlier but the best I could do was 2pm since I wasn't sure if we would be there any earlier. The boxes actually arrived 10mins before we got to our apartment. The pick up was a little easier as they called me the morning of and said they would be at the house between 9:30a - 10a and they arrived at 9:30am. We both liked that we had a 2 week deadline to get our boxes emptied so that helped move things along so that we could get the boxes out of the house, but we knew if we did needed more time we could pay for another week. The only thing that went wrong was that we did not have labels to help label our boxes. I emailed them and told them and the rep said they would see about having the labels delivered but nothing was received. Despite this everything else was great with the boxes, dolly and zip ties. read more

These blue boxes made my move SUPER easy. Delivered right to my door, no hassle of hauling and assembling cardboard boxes. Boxes were extremely durable, stackable, and bigger than I expected. Extremely neat/tidy move, and NOTHING in any of the boxes broke. I STRONGLY preferred this to cardboard. The dolly made them really easy to move and the handles made them easy to lift. I rigorously checked pricing across different reusable moving box companies in Chicago and BluBox had the most cost efficient pricing for ~30 boxes. I was satisfied with the rate of $139 for 30. I used the 1-bedroom package (30 boxes) to move me (lot of stuff) and my roommate (not much stuff) and we had just the right amount of boxes. Scheduling delivery and pickup was a bit awkward as they are using a 3rd party moving company to help arrange, and you just schedule with them over the phone (which should be easy) and you don't have an order number/confirmation/anything. The delivery was about an hour later than scheduled (slated for delivery between 3-5pm, arrived at 6pm), which was frustrating as I had worked from home to permit for the delivery, and had I known they could deliver in the evenings I would've just requested that. There was also a bit of a language barrier which made it a bit awkward to try to provide directions to the delivery guy on the phone. And then for pickup, I had to track them down to ensure I was getting them returned within 2 weeks, they don't proactively schedule a pickup. These were the only negatives. read more

Do not use this service. The product itself is good. However, the delivery was an hour and a half late after the driver was given the wrong address. Additionally, the wardrobe boxes I purchased were not in the original delivery. I had to schedule a separate delivery with the driver for the next day. I'm not sure that I will be getting the wardrobe boxes. I tried calling the office multiple times during office hours, but received no response. read more

This is legitimately one of the worst customer service experience I've ever had. There appears to be no one answering phones in the office, they miss delivery days after making you sit and wait for them for 4+ hours when the manager said you'll be at the beginning of the shift. Management appears to be completely disconnected from delivery and lacking the fundamental accountability and customer service necessary to operate a business. I've been trying to get them to pick up my boxes for a week now and it's next to impossible. Also, this should not reflect on the drivers, it's extremely difficult to coordinate when management refuses to answer or return calls and it's challenging to communicate basic details of my address and pick up time due to language barriers, though drivers have always been very pleasant and efficient when they are here. read more

They were very easy about scheduling drop off and pick up of the crates: I work a standard 9-5 schedule and I didn't want to have to take 2 days off work to arrange for these. This was such an efficient and easy way to move! My husband and I got 50 boxes for our 2-bedroom apartment move to another 2-bedroom apartment, and it was the exact right amount. The company was easy and great to work with, and the delivery man was friendly and efficient. He arrived within the delivery window for dropping off the boxes. There was some confusion about the pick-up time, so they didn't show up during the scheduled pickup window, but after I called, they apologized for the error and came within the hour to pick up the boxes. Best decision we made during our move! The boxes were perfect size, clean, and delivered right to my door. I had read reviews beforehand and that was helpful. Someone noted to not tie the zip tie too tight, as it's hard to cut off when unpacking. Also, the provided labels don't stick well, I just put a piece of scotch tape across for extra security. I gave four stars because I had a hard time getting a hold of someone at the company. But when I did, they were so helpful and accommodating. I needed the bins picked up earlier than the two weeks and they came the day I called to get them! The delivery guys are so sweet, so I gave them a little tip. I was intrigued by the concept of reusable containers, especially ones that stacked and could be easily moved with a dolly that was included. And overall, these containers and dolly were extremely durable, easy to use, and easy to move. I did, however, find that some of the items advertised on their website could not be ordered on their website...So I proceeded to call the phone number provided only to leave a message, which according to the company voice mail, would be responded to immediately...Immediately came and went, so I left another message, and another message, and another...none were responded to, and as my moving date approached, I feared that I may not even receive the boxes that I believed I had ordered. Concerned, I reluctantly trudged to the cardboard box store. On my way, I received an apologetic call from the management explaining that he had been out of the office and that his voice mails had not been forwarded to him as he'd expected and had not received my messages. I shared my concerns about the extras that I had needed but had been unable to order online and about my overall order/delivery date and time. He assured me that I would have the boxes that afternoon and that the extras would also arrive...and they did as promised. After my move, the boxes were picked up without incident and on the scheduled date. My initial concern was with the customer service, but they came through in the end and made the overall experience better than I expected. read more
