We went to Blue Agave on a Friday night and had no problem getting a table. We sat out back on their patio which is super cute. Our server was very nice and friendly. I got the fish burrito bowl and my companion got the steak quesadilla, both of which we were happy with. Don't miss out on the margaritas, either! They have several flavors but I'd recommend the passionfruit!

I always passed by the place and finally decided to try it out. The food was alright and the drinks were a bit pricier than other places. The service was nice and I like the lighting of the place. I would go back to check their happy hour deals!

Steak and eggs make for the perfect brunch staple, and what better way to elevate it than with bottomless drinks? The coconut Bellini really caught me off guard with how flavorful it was--the tropical notes were on point, and the foamy top added a nice touch. You definitely get a strong hit of alcohol right at the start, which made it all the more enjoyable. The service was great she kept the bottomless drinks coming and ambiance was very lowkey and chill for a rainy Saturday.

At first arrival, it is clear to see that this restaurant is very small! We had called ahead to ask about making a reservation, but they said they only take reservations for parties of 6 or more. So when we arrived we had to wait a bit. They let us sit at the bar (which sat about a total of 10 people) while we waited. After about 15 minutes we were seated. Our waitress checked-in without making us feel rushed whatsoever. We started with some drinks, the pina colada margarita, and some queso and nachos. The drinks were delicious, and the appetizers hit the spot. For dinner, I ordered the quesadilla which was a bit smaller than I expected, but still delicious. Overall, the drinks and food tasted great. It felt a little pricy for the sizes, but it felt on par for a Brooklyn restaurant. Side note: There is limited street parking available. We spent at least 20 minutes circling before we finally found a spot! Keep in mind it was a Friday at 7pm.

Good brunch with a nice ambiance esp if you need a local date spot. They include a mimosa with something off the brunch menu.

Honestly, I've been to so many taco places in bay ridge and the city.. I don't think I would come here again. However, I do like their service. That's why I'm only giving two stars just because they were nice. Please save yourself time and the money.

Came here for the first time this past Saturday and absolutely loved it. It was pretty chilly out so we chose to sit inside. They take your temperature upon entering, their tables are all spaced apart and their staff all wear masks. As soon as we sat down, we were given complimentary chips and salsa.. awesome start! We then ordered a few spicy margaritas (strawberry and spicy). They were so good that we decided to grab a pitcher right after. As for food, there were so many delicious options on the menu but we ultimately decided the hard tacos, the veggie fajitas, empanadas and choco flan for dessert. I'm a hard shell taco kind of guy and I was so happy to see the option on the menu, as most places only serve soft tacos. They had the perfect crunch, were packed with flavor and held together with each bite. I can't comment on the fajitas as I did not try my dates dish, but the empanadas were fantastic. She's a vegetarian so we opted for a plain cheese empanada. The cheese was warm, gooey, and oh so stretchy. I know this is a bold statement but I would put these in the top echelon of empanadas across New York! Now onto the finale.. their chocoflan. In the words of Joey Lawrence from Blossom, "WHOA"! This was the perfect way to end a meal. I loved how the quickly the fork pierces the soft flan, only to be slowed down by the rich creamy chocolate below. Each bite slowed down time. I don't often find myself in this area but the next time I'm back, you can bet I'm returning to Blue Agave.

Wonderful service, wonderful food! Highly recommend the frozen margaritas and Sangrita. The cheese empanadas and chicken empanadas are delicious. Also love that they have hosted gayridge events here!

    "Hours of operation"

This place is ok. What I dislike most is that 2 times now, myself and my party have been turned away at 9:45pm, when the hours posted are clearly till 10:30pm s-t. Change your hours or change your staff who is so lazy they'd rather turn away clients so they can run out the door at 10:30, instead of closing at 10:30 like posted. It's quite simple. No need for sarcastic and passive aggressive bartenders who say; "I'm so sorry" or " i don't know why it says 10:30". Maybe the owner doesn't know the staff works this way. Not good. Needless to say we went right across the street to Margaritas and had a wonderful time, bull$h!t free.

Hole in the wall space, but quality restaurant appeal. Blue Agave has become one of my staples in Ridge. I've tasted most of the appetizers - delicious. The bartender here makes an amazing mixed drink - from the sangria to the mezcal margarita to the caipirinhas & everything in between. His drink making skills are solid. Blue Agave is a great bar, restaurant & appetizer spot in yue neighborhood

Such a relaxing place to have delicious Mexican food! It's a small restaurant but such a gem in the area - wonderful patio seating in the back. Perfect for those summer days. ***call ahead of time if you are looking to be seated outside. I was told that patio is only open weekends and specific days The Guava margarita was light, not too sweet, and thought it was paired nicely with a spicy salt and sugar. It was refreshing, and had a natural taste. It was not artificial. Whenever I visit a Mexican restaurant, my go to is never usually the fajitas. I truly think that if you are going to order a fajita anywhere, ordering the shrimp fajitas is a must! It is served on that sizzling plate. I also enjoyed being given various options for the type of tortilla I wanted. I opted for corn and they were good. I love the fajitas here!! The shrimp tacos are excellent. I added sliced avocado on top and this really brought out the flavors. The shrimp here is excellent quality - and the way the chef chops the shrimp really is great as opposed to having just large pieces of shrimp in the tacos. They were slightly spicy. Memorial Day just passed and we forgot the corn at the grocery store for our bbq. I came here the day after Memorial Day and I am so glad I came here for the corn. They were roasted and covered in cheese and perfectly roasted on the grill. Favorite appetizer on the menu. My favorite dish here if I could order one item is the seafood mango ceviche. The mango was perfectly sweet, ripe, and seafood was fresh. So much flavor in every bite. The fried calamari was very crispy with a breading that has a slight kick to it. The chipotle mayo was a great addition. Churro was not overly sweet, and was not greasy. The dipping caramel sauce and chocolate sauce were the perfect balance. The flan was my favorite during the visit. It was a cross between a sponge cake and flan. I have noticed that people are either fans of flan or not at all. I truly believe this flan has revolutionized this known Spanish dessert. Service was very kind, down to earth, and courteous. Thank you! I will be back!

After hearing only good things about Blue Agave, I felt a visit here was long overdue. My friend and I stopped in on a Sunday afternoon and were seated immediately. The bar area was popping since it was St. Patty's Day and green margaritas were in order for some other patrons. My friend and I each ordered a house margarita and I went with a choice of 3 tacos - 1 rotisserie chicken and 2 ground beef. Ooof. Unfortunately, these were not good. The ground beef had no flavor whatsoever and neither did the rotisserie chicken, which by the way, was actually just boiled watery chicken. My friend got a burrito with ground beef and also said hers was tasteless. She doused everything in hot sauce to make it better, but it didn't really help. I was actually disappointed in the food here and would have surely given this place 5 stars if the flavors matched up with the friendly, quick, 5 star service. Were they just having an off day? Not sure. But with so much other competition in the neighborhood, Blue Agave will need to step their game up... and fast!

Super tasty and delicious, I have a few more photos on my Instagram from a day we ate in. Super cute spot, with dope outdoor seating. Their steak is phenomenal and full of flavor, and as far as steak tacos go- this is my go to. I love their grilled octopus with potatoes. I just recently got delivery and sadly my crunchy tacos were a bit stale- but that's usually not the case.

Everything was excellent, but the paella was the star of the meal my wife couldn't put her fork down. The drinks were cold, refreshing, and paired perfectly with the food. The only downside was the service at the front. The host seemed a little unfriendly, which wasn't the best first impression. Thankfully, the manager stepped in, was very welcoming, and seated us in the back, which ended up being the perfect spot for a quick bite and a couple of drinks. Overall, the food and drinks definitely outweigh the small hiccup at the beginning. We'll definitely be back for happy hour again.

For 3 people we ordered: the calamari, a lobster roll, a potato side dish, a small vegan paella and a chuzo salad. The food was good but not great - the calamari was nothing special, the lobster roll was a little over salted with the fries not fried enough, the potato dish had texture and the toppings on it had spice + acid, the salad was simple but refreshing, and the finally the vegan paella was well seasoned, strong tomato flavor in the rice and the vegetables were nicely charred. The ambiance of the restaurant felt summery, it was a little humid with a slight wind that evening and they had all doors open allowing the breeze to flow through their space beautifully. The biggest let down was their service. For a weeknight at prime dinner hour and not a very crowded night, it took an hour for our food to come out from the kitchen. I noticed another party, who arrived after us, was served their food prior to us. I wished our waiter updated us on the food without my having to ask first.

Defeated, that only made me want Ecuadorian food even more. I began a mission to get a plate of llapingachos (mashed potatoes laced with cheese and topped with peanut sauce, a typical dish in the Cuenca/Azogues area of Ecuador.) Yelp did not fail me. I walked south and found this place just after some scaffolding. I sat down and was promptly given a menu. Llapingachos are usually eaten with fritada (fried pork) or hornado (roast pork, like pernil.) Them I saw guatita (tripe with peanut sauce) and was almost lead astray and said to myself, No, you came here for llapingachos and llapingachos you shall have. The menu had pictures and I even saw a plate pairing them with steak and eggs. It was a hard decision, but I went with that. The waitress brought out green sauce, called ají in Colombia (not sure what it's called in Ecuador.) my husband ordered the bandeja paisa, a Colombian dish. I waited in trepidation, as I was starving at this point. The food came and I was unsure what to go for first. The meat, the llapingachos, the fried eggs, the salad, or the rice. I gave each a turn. What I love about Ecuadorian cooking, is that there's often a variety of foods on one plate. I hadn't had this plate in ages, so this was a real treat. I wasn't feeling 100% today, so the meal was hearty, yet had nothing to upset my stomach. It turned out to be just the right thing for me. My husband enjoyed his meal, though it was a riff on the traditional plate. They left out the area yet added a few pieces of pork on the bone. He seemed to enjoy his meal. I'd go back. In fact, a personal obligation will require me to be back in the neighborhood in a few days and now I have a little spot to go to that I can trust. I might just try the guatita this time.
