The best thing about this place was the Brussels sprouts! Wow. I was not expecting much as it was pretty empty and not many people were working on a Friday night but those Brussels sprouts and margaritas were amazing. Black and white nachos were also good, and my friend enjoyed her tacos. Our waitress had a great personality, she was also running the bar, and she managed to still provide good service and we didn't have to wait long. Inside was quiet, and clean. Not bad for walking by and deciding to check it out - glad we did.

We hit up Blue Agave Grill before a show at DCPA. They were super speedy, friendly customer service, and the food was phenomenal!!!! Will totally go again!!

Lovely and welcoming with delicious (pricy) food! We stopped in after a show nearby. We parked in a parking garage about a block away and walked to the cute and trendy restaurant. Luckily, despite it being a Friday late afternoon, we were able to get a table right away. The staff were friendly and attentive. The decor was classy and lovely. After perusing the menu, I ordered a spicy jalapeño margarita to share with my husband and some chips and salsa. My husband ordered the Tofu-Walnut Enchiladas while I opted for the Santa Fe Salad plus a cup of Poblano-Corn Chowder. Everything was outstanding and the service was on point.

Came here for my friend's birthday. The waitress was great. I ordered the house margarita and they are very generous with the alcohol! (Love that). Ordered Blue Agave Fish Tacos, they were huge. They give you 3, I could only eat 2. The tacos had Marinated Cherry Tomatoes on top, which I am not a cherry tomato fan. But they were amazing! So full of flavor.

I ordered the happy hour chicken tacos but they added beans and rice which is their dinner portion. They charged me the happy hour price.

Great margaritas and good food and service. Especially for happy hour I ordered the chicken tacos off the happy hour menu, only $7.

Pricey spot downtown with good margaritas and food. Fun for a fancier night out with friends. Had these spicy cucumber margarita and it was fantastic with nice frozen cucumbers. Our waitress was really friendly and helpful to our group making sure we had enough seats for all the friends joining in! The coconut shrimp was fantastic and I would get it again!!!

Pesto carnita tacos are the best item here. It's creative, unique, and absolutely delicious. Fish tacos are a close second. Well-balanced flavors, classic fish taco. NOT battered, which is a huge plus for me. I have to say though, not consistently executed well. 2 times, they were amazing. One time, fish was overcooked... like absolutely hammered. Awful, probably should have sent it back. But we were in a rush by that point. Next best item here is the chorizo corn dip. Simple and tastier than I thought it would be. I wish I could eat the chip bowl it was served in, but it was greasy as hell. All other tacos were below average to bad. Carne asada tacos were not balanced. Meat itself was really good, but the black beans just takes over and muted all the flavors. I am a black bean lover too. The chicken tacos were just awful. And the red carnitas tacos were unremarkable and boring. The tequila selection is disappointing, but I'm comparing it to real tequila and mezcal bars in Denver, the likes of adelitas. The tequila selection here is basic. And the margarita was not great. If you just want to drink, then it gets the job done. Service is inconsistent and slow. Waters were not refilled consistently. Seemed like servers were somehow, at the same time, rushing and lackadaisical. Only reason why they get 4 stars from me is pesto carnitas tacos and fish tacos (on a good day). If these items disappeared from the menu, then it's 2 stars... maybe 3.

Service Food Thank you Nick and your staff for exceptional service and taking care of our team (20) for lunch. Nick was a pleasure to deal with and it was seamless making a group reservation. Our server was amazing as well. The food was great and came out fairly quickly considering how large our group was. The only feedback is that they were out of their delicious tortilla soup and the shrimp skewers weren't cooked that great. Everything else was delicious, with the Blackened Scallops stealing the show!!! OMG

A group of us had dinner here on a Sunday night and it was pretty quiet, but we were still glad we had a reservation since we were a large group. I enjoyed the spicy cucumber margarita; it had just a hint of spice and the frozen cucumbers added a nice touch. They don't skimp on the tequila so one was plenty! I had the al pastor tacos for my entree and they were flavorful and nicely seasoned; portion size was perfect for a not too heavy dinner. We did share some appetizers as well and the tuna was quite good. Service was good and the atmosphere was casual and quiet.

Nice decor. Friendly bartender. Cocktails were tasty. Guac lacked flavor & portion was small. The diablo hot sauce was spicy & enjoyable. Clean restroom.

Always such great food, drinks, and service! I don't go to 16th street often but when I do this is my favorite place. The margarita flight is so much fun! My mom says the fish tacos are the best she's ever had.

Great spot for a quick bite! A chain feel and huge menu. Food was good and the service was pretty quick! No one else really in the place! The flight of margaritas was tasty!

It's been awhile since we have eaten her and it seems the menu has improved as well as the food. The 16th street mall, Colorado's #1 tourist attraction is in the midst of a massive, much needed, multi year renovation. Blue Agave happens to be on the first section of this project to be completed. The outdoor seating area is easily four times its original size and it's very inviting. Lots of plants and two and four tops that could be configured for 6-12 tops if they were so inclined. The service was great. Seated quickly and no wait. Our server was on top of things and kept us hydrated and the food coming. We started with queso fundido. This is really tasty indeed. Green chilis. Multiple types of cheeses and chips and tortillas to scoop with. Very delicious. We ordered the Santa Fe Cobb and the chicken enchiladas. Both were delicious and made with quality ingredients. The salad was loaded with protein although I don't ask for any. Loved the fresh avocado and boiled eggs. The food is great, service is great and the atmosphere is perfect for a summer evening on the patio.

Uchi is dangerous for people like me…read more Not because of the raw fish. Because the place understands seduction. I've been eating at Uchi since it opened in Denver and today it still carries that same intoxicating balance of precision, warmth, swagger, and restraint. The room itself glows instead of shouts. Wood slats divide the dining room into little private theaters while the sushi counter hums with focused choreography. Expert hands moving constantly. Rice. Fish. Quiet communication. Tiny acts of discipline repeated hundreds of times a night. I sat down intending to have a civilized happy hour. That plan lasted maybe twelve minutes. The kurodai crudo arrived first. Gooseberry, leche de tigre, candied garlic. Bright, sharp, and alive. This is the kind of starter that wakes up your entire palate and you are reminded that you will absolutely be spending more money than originally intended. Next was the bincho temaki: cool albacore, kimchi, avocado, and a vividly garish orange sauce with some heat to keep the richness from becoming too much. Uchi understands something many restaurants don't: luxuriousness needs balance. Fatty fish without acid, spice, crunch, or brightness is palate exhaustion. And then one after another the deliciousness continued: the oysters were cold and perfect with cucumber, calamansi vinegar, and umeboshi. The day boat scallop nigiri nearly stopped time altogether. Just sweet scallops, rice, citrus, a little finishing salt. Incréable. Or whatever the French word is for "I briefly forgot my own name." And somewhere during martini number one, the staff adopted me. Apparently Uchi keeps notes on guests. Mine, I was told, says I'm "nice and a good eater," which may be the most flattering thing anyone has said to me in months. Suddenly more dishes started appearing. Gifted nigiri. Ikura glowing like little amber jewels (my favorite). A ridiculous and completely delicious carrot toro maki with green chili crunch and enough heat underneath the richness to make the whole thing flirt openly with your mouth. At one point the bartenders literally invented a "walu walu shot" on the fly just because the mood had drifted into improvisational chaos. This was somewhere between oyster shooter, seafood dare, and excellent bad decisions. Meanwhile, the guests next to me started talking to me and the entire energy of the evening shifted into communal sushi-bar joy. Suddenly we were all reacting to dishes, laughing, comparing bites, participating in the same ecosystem of salt, fish, alcohol, and temporary human connection. This is the real thing Uchi sells. Not merely sushi. Attention. Rhythm. Atmosphere. Memory. The feeling of being folded into a beautifully functioning machine dedicated entirely to pleasure. And yes, by the end I was emotional enough to remember being 20 years old eating sushi with an older woman named Alana who wore real fur and introduced me to this whole sensual adult world in the first place. That is what a martini and exceptional nigiri will do to a man. The final bill before tip was somehow only $141, which honestly feels mathematically impossible considering I briefly entered a spiritual relationship with the sushi counter. I tipped $50 because at that point we were basically family. Uchi remains one of the sexiest restaurants in Denver. Not performatively sexy. Not influencer sexy. Actually sexy. Confident. Observant. Generous. Precise. And just dangerous enough to make you order one more thing. Amazing dining experience.

My husband and I were really looking forward to having a go-to Asian restaurant that was walking distance from our house. We did attempt to come one time prior, around 5pm on the weekend but it was already full. This time, we came on a Thursday before 5pm and there were plenty of tables. We started with the Smashed Cucumber Salad and the Beijing Style Dumplings that were on happy hour. I am not sure if the Soy Sauce was confused with the Black Vinegar jar for the cucumbers but they were extremely vinegary and that is coming from someone who loves adding vinegar to many Asian dishes. The Beijing dumplings were good, thicker wrapper but a hefty dumpling. We actually had to dip the cucumbers in the dumpling sauce that was a bit sweet to make the cucumbers more enjoyable. For main entrees, I got the Vietnamese Garlic Noodle and my husband got the Ants Climbing a Tree. As a Chinese person whose parents were born in Hong Kong, I have never had butter noodles before. The Vietnamese Garlic Noodles were butter noodles with shrimp and broccoli and garlic bits. I was extremely confused. It wasn't bad per se but... it was egg noodles with butter and shrimp essentially. Not worth $23 at all. The Ants Climbing a Tree was an overabundance of spice. Spice with no additional flavor. My husband loves spicy foods but he couldn't eat much of this. I took a break from my butter noodles and tried a bite of this and it was spicy upon touching my tongue and spicy as a lingering flavor. As to not waste food, he took this home and begrudgingly ate it for lunch and still was not pleased with it. We also ordered the Hong Kong French Toast. It has been a very long time since I had an authentic HK French Toast in HK but the taste is reminiscent of the actual dish. I liked the kaya coconut jam inside. This was my favorite of the meal. I do not understand the hype of Ginger Pig. If you are used to having Chinese fast casual food and wanted to venture more into authentic Chinese food, I suppose this would be good but I cannot recommend this. It is vey expensive for the basic food. I suppose the quality of the food is good, cooked well, but the flavors do not work for me. I will not be returning. I would rather have gone to Panda Express or Pei Wei (I don't even like Pei Wei) where my expectations would have been met instead of spending a lot of money and being disappointed with my food.
