This place gets very busy, and seating fills up quickly. If you're with friends or family, have someone save a table while the others order. I think if they just dial in their espresso machine, possibly looked into getting a better quality espresso bean from somewhere like Vesta I would say have Vesta or whatever company you get new other beans from come out and help you dial in the machine to make sure that you're pulling your shots at their preferred specs Unfortunately, we weren't very impressed with their pastries. I used to go everyday, even got my mom and husband hooked on the coffee here. I'd rave about the quality of it to all of my coworkers and friends too. The coffee is not the issue at all. Quickly, it seemed like the owner was bothered by our presence? Many times, I tried to just give him the benefit of the doubt and assume that he was just having a tough day but I realized that wasn't really the case as he seemed to be fairly friendly with other customers versus us. Many of the times he would just put my coffee in my general direction without saying anything, I was left to assume that it was mine very awkwardly. I do admit that sometimes I could come in late to the shop (5-10 mins before they close) but I work from home and the only time that I can make my way to anywhere is during my lunch break. Yaw is almost 30 mins from me and I literally spend my only lunch break on a trip to Yaw. I assume that maybe that's what caused the animosity? The late trips to the shop? Regardless, I stopped going to Yaw for a while because I started to feel that I was walking on eggshells around Ian (the owner) and I would get really nervous when I would walk in, but we happened to be in the area yesterday and I stopped by about 10 minutes before they were supposed to close. I ordered my drinks and then a gentleman still came in after me to place an order. Ian then asked me if he knew that they closed at 2 PM and I said yes. It made me a bit uncomfortable because I felt like a bother. This confirmed that he was bothered that I (and other customers) that came in late, but I'm wondering that if he's so bothered by people coming in at that time why doesn't he close earlier than 2 PM? I understand that it can be a bit annoying but I'm a paying customer. I try to be respectful and nice to everyone there. Even when I go in with my daughter, i try to stay out of their way and not let her touch anything to avoid conflict. At some point during the holidays I even tipped $50 because I felt so strongly about the quality/service. I'm so disappointed to say this, but that will be the last time I'm going to Yaw. I'm even tearing up as a say this because it was part of my day to day routine but I'm just so saddened by the treatment, I truly cannot ignore it.

I didn't even bother reading reviews beforehand, I just went and honestly I'm so glad I did because this ended up being one of the biggest surprises of the trip. The parking lot itself was pretty quiet, but there was a steady flow of people going in and out which is usually a good sign. Inside there's plenty of seating and it definitely felt like one of those cafes that could easily become a study/work spotor casual hangout place. I was also really impressed by how big their menu was. They had acai bowls, sandwiches, burritos, toast, milk teas, espresso drinks, and even a jasmine mule that immediately caught my attention. Their mint mojito latte sounded really good too, but I ended up deciding to try a couple drinks from the seasonal menu instead. We got the tiramisu matcha latte and the banana foster latte. The employees were super friendly and checked in to see if we needed help deciding, which honestly felt extra appreciated after being in the car for that long. Our drinks came out pretty quickly and the very first thing I noticed was the cream-to-drink ratio. When I say these drinks were loaded with cream top. I mean loaded. My tiramisu matcha was probably like 20% cream and the banana foster looked almost half cream at first glance. The cream itself is super thick too, not one of those light cold foams that disappears after two sips. But honestly? That tiramisu matcha latte might've just blown a lot of the matcha spots I've tried in San Diego out of the water. The matcha itself was bold, earthy, and very matcha forward, but that thick tiramisu cream on top cut through it perfectly. It made the drink taste rich without becoming overwhelmingly heavy. I literally kept thinking about this drink for the rest of the trip. The banana foster latte was good too, but definitely more of what you'd expect flavor wise. They're so dense that you kind of have to stir everything together. I'm usually someone who likes to sip both the foam and drink together at the same time, but that wasn't really possible here because the cream barely moves. Still delicious though.
