Previously, we had a cracked windshield on the car out here replaced through insurance by another auto glass company that advertises a lot on TV. (We had used this same company back home in the mid-west last year on another vehicle with a cracked glass, also through insurance. They came to the house twice and we took the car to them twice before we had a satisfactory resolution. Problems were caused by young, inexperienced personnel.) The replacement windshield that this same company installed out here, was apparently mounted too high up and allowed the wind to enter the car beneath the bottom edge of the glass. It was very loud at freeway speed. We took it to Blue Chip to get it redone with the idea that we would pay for a new glass if this one happened to break during the re-install which they indicated can happen. They were able to re-use the same glass, fortunately. They are very good. Bottom line, don't waste time looking around. Take it here. These guys know what they're doing. You will not be disappointed. I unfortunately had a cracked windshield and Blue Chip pointed out that my Ford Explorer requires the side trim pillars to be removed when replacing a windshield. What should be a no brainer that my insurance would cover the pillars was unfortunately a dream. But with Blue Chips help and some stern words from myself, all was covered. I was driving north on 17 just prior to Bell when a big old rock pinged off my windshield and made a nice star. I had some time before my appointment, and did a Yelp search for a nearby glass shop. Blue Chip came up and were able to see me right away. Took my old Mini Cooper in, and within 30 minutes, they had filled the glass. You can't tell that anything ever happened. MUCH friendlier and MUCH MUCH less expensive than the national brand. I paid and left, but in the future, if I need glass service again, I will drive the extra few miles over to Blue Chip. read more

I had a pretty large crack in the windshield and got in touch with Safelite, who I had used before but didn't exactly love. They were several days out for appointments so I called Tesla. Tesla could do the replacement but would not accept insurance, I have full window coverage. They recommended Blue Chip. I called Blue Chip and they got my insurance company on the line and got full approval. The gal who was helping me didn't see any appointments available, but asked me to hold while she spoke to her manager. She came right back and got me in the next morning at 7am. The replacement was done in just over an hour, recalibration and all. It was a great experience. Also, just to note, their waiting room is pretty nice :)! Heads and shoulders above Safelite. In addition, Blue Chip said if I had any chips in the future to bring the car in and they would repair it at no cost! read more

When our windshield replacement didn't come out 100%, it was the replacement technicians who pointed it out and had already contacted their front office to make plans on how to get it right for us. A+ experience! They were scheduled to arrive at my home yesterday between 3 and 5 p.m. Around 1:30 p.m., Kelly called to let me know that it would be closer to 5 p.m. so I wouldn't have to unnecessarily wait around. SHOCK. STUN. Who does that?!?!?! Apparently, I am used to camping out at the front door waiting hours for service people. I even had snacks and books ready. Shortly before 5 p.m., Kelly called again to let me know they were running late and they would be at my home by 5:45 p.m. Nearly on the nose, Freddy rang the doorbell. He was friendly, professional, and fast. He also apologized profusely for being late. I'm a business person and completely understand that sometimes things take longer than expected. I'm totally okay with someone being late as long as they keep me apprised. Blue Chip was fantastic about that. These are the guys to use... A small chip turned into a 18" crack in a day or so. When I took to the Internet to find a repair company I found lots of company's that use cheap glass but give you a free gift card. I was more interested in getting an O.E.M replacement that would last / be compatible with my rain sensor, etc. When I called, Kelly the owner answered the phone... he was professional, facilitated the claim through my insurance (Geico) at no cost to me, and had his technicians sent to my office to get me fixed up quickly. His guys Freddy and Robert showed up early (how refreshing) and were done in 40 minutes. Blue chip driver showed up to replace my windshield on my 2022 Tesla Y, and asked for the key card and said he was going to need to drive the car after the windshield was replaced to recalibrate the cameras. I declined that option as Tesla does its own recalibration when you select it on the screen and I didn't want him driving my car around or my insurance company billed for that. He argued with me that he was legally required to do it and I still declined and said I'd handle it and he said I may need to sign a waiver. He then told me that I would need to take it to Tesla to get the recalibration done then, I said "thats fine, I'll deal with it". I went inside and called the office to get a copy of the bill that they were sending to my insurance company and came back out a few minutes later and he was gone, never touched the windshield, never said he was refusing to do the job because I didn't want him driving my car around, nothing. I've had great work done by Blue Chip in the past and they have never needed to take my car for a drive. I'm not sure if this is some sort of scheme to get more money out of the insurance company or what, but this service is ridiculous in my opinion. Update: Owner called me and explained that Tesla and the insurance companies tell them that the HAVE to do the windshield recalibration and drive the car, and there is a fee for doing this. He acknowledged that he told the driver not to do the job without the windshield recalibration procedure. He said he would send me documentation on this required procedure. I plan to research this more and probably have another company handle my windshields in the future, one that at least has the common courtesy to tell me they are leaving without doing the job. I will update the review once I receive more info, but for now I still need a windshield, so I will have to find someone else to do it, and I will start by contacting my insurance company and see what they require of a company doing a windshield replacement. Update 2: I do see that they are doing the job "mostly" by the Tesla service manual, except for the step that says "The vehicle needs to be driven by the customer to complete the calibration procedure". It does not say "have your technician drive around for up to 100 miles in the customers car". It is what it is, I will update my review from 1 star to 3 stars because the owner reached out and tried to explain his side of the situation. The technician, on the other hand, was kind of a jerk. read more
