I had a pretty large crack in the windshield and got in touch with Safelite, who I had used before but didn't exactly love. They were several days out for appointments so I called Tesla. Tesla could do the replacement but would not accept insurance, I have full window coverage. They recommended Blue Chip. I called Blue Chip and they got my insurance company on the line and got full approval. The gal who was helping me didn't see any appointments available, but asked me to hold while she spoke to her manager. She came right back and got me in the next morning at 7am. The replacement was done in just over an hour, recalibration and all. It was a great experience. Also, just to note, their waiting room is pretty nice :)! Heads and shoulders above Safelite. In addition, Blue Chip said if I had any chips in the future to bring the car in and they would repair it at no cost! read more

I was driving north on 17 just prior to Bell when a big old rock pinged off my windshield and made a nice star. I had some time before my appointment, and did a Yelp search for a nearby glass shop. Blue Chip came up and were able to see me right away. Took my old Mini Cooper in, and within 30 minutes, they had filled the glass. You can't tell that anything ever happened. Blue chip driver showed up to replace my windshield on my 2022 Tesla Y, and asked for the key card and said he was going to need to drive the car after the windshield was replaced to recalibrate the cameras. I declined that option as Tesla does its own recalibration when you select it on the screen and I didn't want him driving my car around or my insurance company billed for that. He argued with me that he was legally required to do it and I still declined and said I'd handle it and he said I may need to sign a waiver. He then told me that I would need to take it to Tesla to get the recalibration done then, I said "thats fine, I'll deal with it". I went inside and called the office to get a copy of the bill that they were sending to my insurance company and came back out a few minutes later and he was gone, never touched the windshield, never said he was refusing to do the job because I didn't want him driving my car around, nothing. I've had great work done by Blue Chip in the past and they have never needed to take my car for a drive. I'm not sure if this is some sort of scheme to get more money out of the insurance company or what, but this service is ridiculous in my opinion. Update: Owner called me and explained that Tesla and the insurance companies tell them that the HAVE to do the windshield recalibration and drive the car, and there is a fee for doing this. He acknowledged that he told the driver not to do the job without the windshield recalibration procedure. He said he would send me documentation on this required procedure. I plan to research this more and probably have another company handle my windshields in the future, one that at least has the common courtesy to tell me they are leaving without doing the job. I will update the review once I receive more info, but for now I still need a windshield, so I will have to find someone else to do it, and I will start by contacting my insurance company and see what they require of a company doing a windshield replacement. Update 2: I do see that they are doing the job "mostly" by the Tesla service manual, except for the step that says "The vehicle needs to be driven by the customer to complete the calibration procedure". It does not say "have your technician drive around for up to 100 miles in the customers car". It is what it is, I will update my review from 1 star to 3 stars because the owner reached out and tried to explain his side of the situation. A+ experience! They were scheduled to arrive at my home yesterday between 3 and 5 p.m. Around 1:30 p.m., Kelly called to let me know that it would be closer to 5 p.m. so I wouldn't have to unnecessarily wait around. SHOCK. STUN. Who does that?!?!?! Apparently, I am used to camping out at the front door waiting hours for service people. I even had snacks and books ready. Shortly before 5 p.m., Kelly called again to let me know they were running late and they would be at my home by 5:45 p.m. Nearly on the nose, Freddy rang the doorbell. He was friendly, professional, and fast. He also apologized profusely for being late. I'm a business person and completely understand that sometimes things take longer than expected. When I took to the Internet to find a repair company I found lots of company's that use cheap glass but give you a free gift card. I was more interested in getting an O.E.M replacement that would last / be compatible with my rain sensor, etc. When I called, Kelly the owner answered the phone... he was professional, facilitated the claim through my insurance (Geico) at no cost to me, and had his technicians sent to my office to get me fixed up quickly. His guys Freddy and Robert showed up early (how refreshing) and were done in 40 minutes. Well this is a first. Just had an window shield replacement serviced at Blue Chip. Received a call from Kelly (owner) letting me know that they didn't want to risk removing about 1/16-1/8" by 1 1/2" black sealing glue that was done poorly from a prior window shield replacement (Penske dealership) a couple years prior. They tried to remove it but they were concerned it might impact the paint now. Effectively an apology that they couldn't clean up the shabby job done by the prior dealership repair! Kelly explained that his installer prides himself on doing exceptional work and it was troubling the installer that this sliver of black glue was there (I do mean barely noticeable unless you are looking for it, being about 1 ft away staring right into the crevice) . It had been that way for a couple years and I never paid any real bother to it. But they did - and that is why I'm writing this review! They care about the quality of work being delivered. They tried to fix the other installer's mess, wanted to protect the car paint in the end, and then apologized they couldn't safely remove the glue since is "baked" in so to speak. Tip of the hat to the installer for having so much pride in his work. If you are thinking... "I want it done right so I'll have the dealership replace a cracked windshield" - maybe not the best decision! Take your car to Blue Chip. These guys are nothing short of amazing. I (unfortunately) have had to use their services twice since purchasing a new car in March of this year (rocks apparently love my windshield). Both experiences far exceeded my expectations. I was particularly impressed that they proactively took the cables for my dashcam and routed them through the rearview mirror cable covers, thus hiding the cables from sight - that is a prime example of going above and beyond, even if it is something relatively simple. The second time around there was a minor issue with the windshield wiper fluid lines after the install and they gladly resolved this for me immediately. They are always very friendly and personable, and, more importantly, incredibly easy to deal with. They take every bit of frustration possible out of the windshield replacement process, are quick, and do a high quality job - leaving the car in better condition than it was in before. I hope I don't have to have my windshield replaced again in the near future, but, if I do, I will be taking my business to Blue Chip for a third time, without a doubt. read more

Great service from Kelly and his team at Blue Chip. The scheduling was very flexible which was important to me as I own a small business where I have to travel around the valley. It takes about 2 hours to install a windshield so it was important to me for them to schedule around me. The team is very friendly and makes you feel at home when you enter the building. The windshield looked no different from the original, except that it didn't have the huge gash from the rock that pulverized my glass! I would highly recommend Kelly and his team at Blue Chip to take care of your auto glass needs. Besides the great location there is no problem at all with parking.
