When Robert returned from his days off, he called us asking why the purchase had not gone through. During that conversation, he indicated that he was not aware of what had happened, which raises additional concerns regarding the dealership's internal communication and handling of the transaction. Robert told us that management would be contacting us to explain the situation. However, no one from management ever called or contacted us. We have been left without any explanation as to why the vehicle was ultimately sold to someone else after we had been told the vehicle was being held for us and after we had provided a deposit. This lack of communication is particularly concerning. At this point, we are not only seeking an explanation for what happened with the vehicle, but also an explanation as to how this was allowed to happen internally and why management has failed to communicate with us afterward.

I was pretty direct and asked for a reduced price (reasonable price and did not lowball). They were motivated to make the sale and we quickly settled on a price that worked for both of us. Once that was done, they also let me take it to a mechanic of my choice to get a professional opinion. There were minor concerns raised by the mechanic and Hamid agreed to a 30 day guarantee if the issue arose. Now 2 months later the car runs perfect. This was my first time buying a used car and I went a few shops before eventually getting a car from Robert and Hamid. I could not be more satisfied. They were not the "used car salesmen" we all have in mind. They were friendly, not pushy and made for a great transaction. I was super pleased and will go to them again if I am u am in the market for a used car again. I highly recommend them. When buying used a car, keep in mind you are buying a "used car". There was no pressure when it came to buying this vehicle and the negotiations were simple and straightforward. They did try to add something called waypoint GPS when I was in dealing with the finance team, which I didn't need nor want and they were good about removing that charge from the total. So I was able to get the car that I wanted for my mother at a good price without any add-ons. I will be returning here to ensure the car continues to get serviced by Honda of Kirkland and will update the review at that point.

During the test drive, a salesman was required to come with me and also took me on a mandatory guided route which did not let me drive the car on the freeway. The freeway is where the car has many issues that I did not know of prior to buying. To my surprise, the sales department told me that they would help cover any diagnosis/repairs for the harsh vibrations that occur at freeway speeds under load. However, the service department just gaslighted me by telling me that the car is mechanically perfect and has no vibration issues. They also would not let me take a tech for a drive to reproduce the issues. The more I drove the car, the more issues I found and one of their salesman insisted that they would diagnose and fix the issues but this turned out to be very false. I contacted the GM of the dealership multiple times through email in response to his email which asked me to let him know if I can have questions, comments or concerns. However, the GM has flat out ignored me and won't even bother with a basic response. So not only will they screw you over by not letting you fully test the car, they will do whatever they can to prevent you from returning/exchanging the car, they will gaslight you over the issues the car has, and on top of that, they won't even show you the basic courtesy of responding to you when you contact them. DO NOT GIVE THEM YOUR BUSINESS! Update: Finally spoke with their GM Tim Lasso and this guy is a real piece of work. He basically blamed me for everything. Didn't take responsibility for anything. Had the nerve to say that the service department cannot fix what isn't broken while telling me that a car with 105k miles is going to have worn out parts and have issues. So he contradicted himself by saying it's likely the car has issues while also telling me that service can't fix what isn't broken. What a joke. When a Ford dealership (Bill Pierre) down the street is doing more to help you find a used Volvo S60 T6 AWD car than this Bob Byers Volvo dealership, that's pathetic. 3. You get this vibe from the sales staff that either they hate their job and/or just don't care if they make a sale or not. I went to the Lake City site very enthusiastic and arriving there, it felt as if their idea of a greeting is similar to being at a funeral; no humor and you're hoping that it'll all come to an end someday. 4. Is everything here sold? Every time I've been there, I usually get the "that car is sold" or "I have a couple coming in to test drive this car..." Guess what I get to test drive? Nothing. I was looking for a new vehicle anyway, it's been a while. My short list included most of the major premium small cars, and the S40 is on my radar. Bob Byers is only three blocks away from where I lived, so after taking the car to the Body Shops for estimates, I dropped by. Notice that I drove in with a damaged, hardly good looking 13 year old car. I was greeted warmly as I walked in, and was soon directed to talk to Cliff, a friendly, well-spoken sales person for Bob Byers. I am a young looking guy and normally got little attention at car dealerships (if not outright rudeness). Cliff listened to my specific requirements and began showing me the ones that may match them in their stock. I specifically told him that I was not going to purchase right away, and it was my first day of looking. He explained, in good detail, the differences between the three S40s in the lot for me, and I settled on one of them. As I sat inside, he offered to let me take it for a spin, knowing full well that I wasn't going to buy yesterday. And we did. He took me on the longest test drive I have ever been in (I have been in a lot of test drives, for other reasons I can't elaborate now). We went through curves and freeway, and I got a very good impression of the car. No pressure at all. Cliff proceeded to explain more about the features of the car to me with the understanding that I am an engineer and I don't need much "marketing talk". It was very refreshing, no nonsense, just facts. And was he full of facts about that car. As we returned to the dealership, he showed me the Certification (this car was a certified used) and the Carfax report on the car. Again, knowing full well I wasn't buying then. No pressure. "Take your time and try things out, we'll be here if you decide on the S40". I was very pleased with the experience, and I would rank it as one of the best car shopping experience I have ever had. I still have not decided what to get (well, it's only yesterday), but this experience has certainly raised the bar for what I expect now from a car dealer.
