My new Class B (under warranty) was with them for many months. Eventually it was partially fixed. However, I did all the work. They followed up on nothing. I ended up talking to the manufacturer, to the charging system vendors and finally the lithium battery manufacturer, all their job. I negotiated getting the batteries replaced as well as having the manufacturer pay for the install. Luckily I could stay with a friend so I had a place to live. I was down 4+ months because of their incompetence. On the day I picked up my "finished" van the control pad that controlled all the RV functions wasn't working. Luckily my phone had an App that did the same thing so I left and had it fixed at another dealer when I got home (NC). Jess my service writer was very nice. However, he seemed to not read email or listen to his voicemail. Communication was horrible. I lost so much time because of his lack of follow up. Although BC/BD did the physical work, I did everything else. I was a 40 year supply chain and manufacturing guy so I was capable. I'm not sure someone who didn't have those skills would have gotten it done. In the end I asked Jess for email copies of the service record showing when the batteries were replaced. I've sent him 3 messages over several months to remind him. They never came. Par for the course. BC/BD was a horrible frustration. read more

While on an outing our full side slide broke. We managed to get it home and called Jess at Blue Compass in Redding. He literally got us in the next day. It was a warrantied item and a huge undertaking! The entire slide mechanism needed to be ordered and replaced. To make a long story short, I was expecting our motorhome to be in for quite some time, but it wasn't. Everything was promised and delivered In a timely manner! There was a little incident when an employee was using a weed trimmer to clean up the lot and hit a rock which broke a window. Amazingly not only did they get the window replaced at the same time the slide was done they replaced it with a higher end window! They also detailed and waxed the entire motorhome for us as a courtesy. Every time I've gone there, I've never had an issue, but rather a compliment! For those of you who complain, consider what the complaint is really about. Is it them or is it you? Be patient and kind because it gets you a long way. Nothing but excuses and empty promises. To put it simply no follow through, Jess will tell you what he thinks you want to hear instead of the facts and truth. Its always the same thing I don't have that information right now but I will look into it, or I can assure you... then give the run-a-round. Word of advice any part you need ordered sit there with them when they order it, or it won't get done. Also be sure to do a walkthrough of your unit to verify the work actually got completed. The worst customer service I have ever dealt with. At this point we will no longer be doing business with the service department in Redding. We would like a slide cover installed but don't trust the service department here to do the work. We have reached out to the service department in Grants Pass and will make a mini vacation out of it for the slide cover and any service work needed from here on out. Pretty unfortunate to have such terrible service locally. If interested in some of the details around our experience read on. Bought our trailer in late November, took possession of it in December. Was told all warranty parts were ordered but with the Holidays probably wouldn't have everything in until February. Dropped trailer off early March to have work completed. They called and said everything was complete and scheduled a pickup for late March/early April. Once we arrived to pick it up walked through and not one item was complete. NOT ONE! Was told that parts actually hadn't arrived yet, and that they would be here soon. Left trailer there until parts would arrive. We called Grand Design and were told that some parts hadn't even been ordered yet. Had a meeting with the manager hoping for a better outcome and were met with the same BS as before, empty promises. Reached out to Blue Compas RV Sales and worked with Oran (awesome guy btw, 10/10 recommend) to get things turned around and fixed. Finally got to pick up the trailer end of April. Took it out on our first trip and the table that was replaced under warranty had a used base that was rusted and didn't work, and wobbled so bad you couldn't set a glass of water on it. Got back and went by sales to look at a new table before raising hell again. The new table was stable and folded down properly. With this knowledge we reached back out to service and was given the runaround but this time we gave them an ear full. enough was enough for us. We are going to see if Sales can handle ordering the part for us. If not, then we will be going through GD directly and working with Grants Pass service department. read more

My trailer has been in the service department for 14 of the last 24 months I have owned the trailer, (purchased 10/17/2021) didnt take delivery until 02/08/2022 for walk through items but nothing was done and trailker was just droped off again on 10/16/2023. Items of repairs, 1) Black and gray tanks wont drain, found plug from factory in the tank that was plugging the drain and the gray tanks had no drain connections. This repair was completed but now the drain handles are so hard to pull they will most likely break and the service writer tells me its not covered under warranty even though they did the work. 2) Trailer had an internal wiring failure so they had to run a new wire from the inverter/breaker box to the rear of the trailer but in the process damaged two of my bathroom vanity drawers to get access to the wiring harness and also damaged my fireplace by not installing any screws to hold it in place after access behind it so it fell out and slid all over the floor during travel but again, told it is not covered under warranty. 3) We have had a work order from our original walk through from the service tech stating there were dresser drawers out of alignment and not closing properly that needed fixing and when I pointed this out to the service writer he stated that he did not have a copy of that work order so I offered him a copy but all he could say was it is not covered under warranty. 4) Solar was wired incorrectly so it was not working at all so they supposedly rewired it but it is still not charging the batteries enough to just run the refrigerator as it is supposed to at the bare minimum. 5) Work order stated rear cabinet facing failure and hinge issue from day one and still not done over two years later. 6) Front cap of the trailer was damaged badly during transport from the factory but since the dealership did not catch it during inspection on their DAF report when it was delivered the manufacturer will not warranty the repair and the dealership wont correct it!! Every time these people work on my trailer it is filthy inside as they drag dirt and gravel inside and have damaged my floor. Last time it was picked up the Anderson hitch on the front was damaged due to running into the trailer with a forklift and took 3 months to get this part replaced. I have been constantly lied to, told what I wanted to hear, promised and denied repairs that were under warranty and damaged by their own service department. Numerous time I had told the service writer about an item that needed repair under warranty of which he never wrote down because he said Keystone didnt like more than 10 items on a warranty claim but promised would get looked at, which never did, then was told later this item wasn't covered under warranty. I have had 2 USB ports in the very rear of the trailer that haven worked since day one so I have had to put a claim in for this several times and was told every time they test it it is working fine and Jess states he has pictures showing its working but when I asked to see the photos all he showed me was a USB cord plugged in to the USB port but there was no photo of a device charging, are you kidding???? Tried to communicate with the service manager Joe Curland and was told whats in the past is in the past and that he was moving forward not looking in the past, excuse me? the last two years of terror is the past that has to be dealt with!!!! Tried to contact the general manager, which started communicating with me briefly then that completely stopped. Also tried several times to talk to someone at corporate with no return call either!!! These people are terrible, hands down!!!!! It has just been one thing after another. You would think after spending almost 80K on a trailer you could get better service from this company. At this point I will be finding a different service department to complete the repairs and expect Blue Dog/Blue Compass to compensate me for these repairs.
