I wouldn't necessarily recommend this spot for the food, however. However, I would recommend this spot for its spaciousness if you have kids that like mine, can't sit still. I'd also recommend this spot if you want to see some type of sporting event - they have 20 tvs all playing diff sports. The place is huge with plenty of large booths, tables and a bar and if not full, easy for the well behaved and respectful kids to walk/run around. Sadly, we either misordered or the food wasn't the highlight. The boneless wings were like charred ends of dry meat, the chicken cheesesteak was fine, the fries were the mass frozen kind with that kind of breading over it. The kids chicken tenders were the highlight. The margarita came with a few fruit flies. Since It's not directly in town, and a little off the beaten path with a parking lot, the place was pretty full of seemingly locals. The wings here are solid and a good value. Decent selection of beer. Service was good too. But that's about it. Caesar was waaay overdressed, water tasted weird (undrinkable), and overall vibes were cold/pretty basic. Excellent sized burgers - I enjoyed the bbq Memphis burger with sweet potato fries. I'd definitely order again! Fresh, 1/2lb beef patties cooked to perfection, fresh produce and soft bun. Such a nice spacious place and it's nice being able to seat yourself! Recommend sitting closer to door so staff can see you and attend you faster. Fast service, when it's busy it does take a bit longer but food comes out great and hot! Recommend: buffalo wings, garlic fries, chicken quesadillas, mozzarella sticks, chicken strips, and burgers are great also! I also really love the ranch and bacon comes out amazing on the burgers! Fries always crispy! Honey mustard is also amazing! Go to place in town but it can be very noisy when it's busy due to bar, and games days! Honestly I go the Blue Coyote many times for burger, fish n chips, bar food. Yesterday, I was looking for a fancy burger and fries. Was planning to go to a local brewery on Brockway which is expensive and whose fries are too thin. Bridge Street was closed at the tracks and it made traffic a mess. I opted for the quicker route to BC. Service was fine. I knew what I wanted so things were quick and efficient. They aren't real friendly in here but I've come to expect that. I'm not looking for new friends and they get the job done. The fries. They are thick enough but boy oh boy were they crispy. I don't want to use the word burnt, they weren't. It's a typical bar with lots of TVs around featuring sports. After a long ski day, the group was pretty exhausted so it was nice to visit a casual restaurant. During happy hour, there are some featured appetizers and a dollar off alcohol. Our group ended up ordering a pitcher of beer and it was great. Blue Coyote has the friendliest staff/bartenders, Maggie, Cory, and John (and everyone else!) always treat everyone with such warmth whenever I drop in to watch a game! This place is the best "locals hole in the wall" to watch any sports event that is also family friendly. They have great happy hour deals and everything is affordable! She's not only confronted me and I've heard her confront other CUSTOMERS about tipping. Calling people "cheap" and she FOLLOWED ME OUTSIDE TO MY CAR to say "wow no tip?!". SHE FOLLOWED ME!!!!! We have been takeout regulars for a while and still will get wings and pizza chips, but thats it. Our order today was missing the slaw from the tacos(just chicken on tortillas as a result), our sweet potato fries were regular fries and there was cardboard mixed into the meat of my Philly, which wasn't sliced but chopped chunks of beef. Got off work and took a few friends to dinner. There were 6 of us. This place was an average sport bar. Nothing fancy. Plenty of TV's with various sports playing. The actual bar counter was packed. There was a sign when you enter 'seat your self' and plenty of tables that seat 6+ people. We grabbed a corner table. Took awhile to find who was our server. I grabbed a waiter, asked him for some drinks and he promised to send our server. She finally arrived and I ordered my standard Cadillac Margarita. Also I ordered a starter 'Nacho's' with beef. Even though there was only 5-6 table, it took about 15-20 min for my drink. The Nacho's arrived shortly after my cocktail. We finally got our order in after about 30 minutes. What we ordered: 2 x Cadillac Margarita 3 x cokes Beef nachos Large pizza (meat lover) BBQ burger with bacon Philly Cheese steak sandwich 20 wings (10 teriyaki and 10 habanero) First off, the Nacho's order was really large. But it was mostly chips. Many bites had no cheese or goodies. Taste was good, just needed more cheese. Also, it was a cheese sauce, not grated cheese. The 2 sandwiches were quite good as well as the fries that came with them. Pizza had plenty of meat. Wings were large and had a nice crunch. Strangely, they must have been hot and oily as the sauce didn't stick to them. Either that or they were not mixed well. We had to actually dip the wings back into the sauces. 20 wings price was $24, but since we wanted 2 flavors, we were penalized and charged $30. So $6 penalty to try 2 different flavors. The only great thing about the visit really was the Margarita and it's price. Flavor was good and it was $8.72. Took quite awhile to get the second drink also. Dinner was done when it arrived. Overall the food was good, but prices were high ( $130 for a pizza, 20 wings, 2 sandwiches and a nacho) Server was nice when we could actually get her attention. I watched her and the others chatting and socializing quite a bit while we waited for service. Seems This place caters to both locals and tourists and if you are not a regular, you are going to wait. This place was pretty mid overall. The service was okay--seemed like they were understaffed, but the guy helping us did his best, so props to him. That said, things were definitely slow. Stopped in for lunch, great spot to get a reasonably priced lunch and drinks in town. I ordered a Philly wrap with onion rings and a drink. Drinks came out quickly and our server was very nice. Philly came out shortly after and was tasty, onion rings were also crispy and delicious. There was plenty of seating and you could even social distance from other groups if that is your thing. This place has completely gone down hill... The wings used to be the best wings in town...especially the Old Bay ones. Don't know what changed but maybe the cooks that appear to focus on getting high than cooking... driest, tiniest wings now... almost chipped a tooth they were so dry... the sauce sucks now too. The burgers are very inconsistent usually over cooked. Sad to see the food go from great to just awful. The staff is friendly and fun, however. I have always heard about this place on truckee tahoe radio as well as driven by it. So i finally decided to go. A good sign of any restaurant is a large crowd..which they had. We came for the nachos. They were not nearly as good as everyone has shared. I mean, there are no beans on the nachos. How are there no beans on nachos? My friend and I said they were drunk people nachos lol. The serving size however was huge. She and I had our fill and ended up bringing almost a medium pizza box full home. We didn't end of eating them. I want to like this place because the atmosphere is great, the location is nice (not in the middle of town so parking is easy even during snow. The blue coyote bar and Grill never disappoints. I was coming into town after a long drive and I contacted the pizza place at the resort I was staying at and it was gonna be $60 for a large pizza. We've gone to blue coyote often on multiple times over the years so I called them up and they had a pizza ready for me in 20 minutes and half the price with tip. Can't beat that, and if you're looking for a place to watch sports or just have a good meal, this is your stop. The only thing I would say to those people who use Apple Pay for everything they don't accept Apple Pay however, there is a 7-Eleven in the same building complex to get money. read more
