Watch over your bar tab closely. The bartenders are crooks. I was there for two hours with a buddy drinking some beers. Authorized the waitress to buy one drink for a bartender lady from another bar and put it on my tab. She ended pouring 4 double 1942 Don Julio shots for her fellow bartender and charged me $150.00. I was not aware of the overcharge of the other three until the end of the night. Talked to the manager. I refused to authorize the credit card transaction.They kicked me out and charged my credit card full price 374.58! read more

Very packed bar on a football game day on a weekend with barely any space to sit. However it seemed very understaffed. We came at the beginning of the game and well into the second half food still didn't come - adding up to almost a 1.5 hour delay. Watching the game kept us there but we would have left otherwise. Ambience for watching matches was good though. I wish they had the efficiency of Chipotle. We were looking for something relatively simple and reasonably priced after 5 hours in the car traveling to Tahoe City. We chose Pete N Peter's because we enjoy Mexican food. First of all the food we had (Fish tacos and Chicken Enchiladas) were good with reasonably large portions. So if we were just rating the quality of the food this review would be a 4! However, when it came to the ambiance, it left much to be desired. This is definitely a sports bar that has a few tables in the front and a few tables alongside the room of pool tables. The "restaurant" is in a section of the building in the very back. It has a couple of tables outside and a couple inside. They were pretty "minimal". We ordered our food at a counter and it was delivered to our table in the pool table room since the tables in the bar area were occupied. (We chose to eat inside because it was chilly outside). Note: All the tables in the pool table room had dirty dishes and or glasses on them so we asked the people shooting pool whether they were theirs and determined that they were only using one of the tables. Our experience would probably been more positive if we were familiar with the logistics and the lack of esthetics. If you want some pretty good Mexican food to eat at a reasonable price sitting outside or in a noisy bar / pool room you'll probably enjoy it more than we did. read more

We were just visiting Tahoe city on our first night and wanted to watch the dodger game. We wandered into this bar and so glad we did. We got a taste of the locals hang out. They have pool tables and darts. The food came from an attached restaurant next store but the food was good. Everyone looked like they were having fun. Double cheeseburger with tater tots was the bomb! My friend had the nachos. He couldn't even finish them bc they were so huge! Plenty of seating inside and out. First time at Pete and Peter's and it was a good vibe! We came in at 2pm on Sunday and it was surprisingly full at the bar already. There were a couple screens going, and we got to watch the F1 race and the Giant's game. I heard it's a younger crowd at night, so it definitely seems like a popular Tahoe City bar among different crowds. We played 5 games of pool for $5 which was a good time. The pool tables were in nice condition and there was a small selection of cues. We got an order of tater tots, which came out piping hot with ranch and ketchup on the side. Great bartenders, fun atmosphere, and good selection of music on the jukebox. What more is there to ask for? read more

Went to this bar on March 20, 2025, and straight up watched my friends get kicked out because of how they looked. Not because they were being loud, not because they did anything wrong, just because they looked Middle Eastern. The staff didn't even try to come up with an excuse. They just walked over and told them to leave. It was racist, plain and simple. I've never seen something so blatant in my life. We were all shocked, embarrassed, and honestly pissed off. Tahoe is supposed to be chill and welcoming, but this place clearly doesn't want everyone feeling welcome. If you're not white, be careful this bar made it clear who they do and don't want there. Wouldn't recommend this place to anyone. There are way better spots around that don't tolerate this kind of behavior. read more

We had coasters thrown at us by the bartender at this bar. We handed the bartender my card to pay for drinks for my sister and I. My sister mistakenly picked up the card before it had been ran (after we had been sitting at the bar for about 5 minutes waiting to run the card). The bartender chucked coasters at us to get our attention while we were 3 feet away. I got 3 coasters thrown at me that felt like someone whipping me and my friend got one thrown at her. Completely unprofessional behavior we were 3 feet away from the bar at the juke box. He could have just told us our card hadn't been run. In fact we only realized the card hasn't been run when another customer informed us they were trying to get our attention. read more

The bartenders were EXTREMELY rude and frankly racist. 5 of me and my sober friends all seniors in college (21 and 22) walked in and they validly asked for our IDs. The bartender proceeded to keep only the ID of the person of color. They then tried to make it seem nonchalant by keeping the next ID they took. We had to call the police to get our IDs back in order to legally fly back to school. We were yelled at and treated extremely disrespectfully, specifically by the female bartender with dark hair, and I would never go back. I wish I could give zero stars. read more

We live on the South shore and wanted to catch the end of the Iowa game after picking up skis next door. We walked in and didnt even have to ask, the nice bartender Gabrielle(a?) was immediately like sit where you would like and just let me know what game you would like on. She was just as pleasant our whole time there. Beer selection was good, the seasoned ground beef in the tacos was really tasty, and lots of TVs for sports. The bartenders were immediately rude to us. 5 of us entered the bar and, understandably, were asked to show our IDs. We are seniors in college 21 and 22, but came in sober understanding that this was a chill bar. Upon giving our IDs, they held two of our friends IDs, unfortunately what needs to be said is that the ID held is our Indian friend's ID, only later did they take our other friends ID to prove that it wasn't singular. Immediately after that fact, after being well of age, and when asking how to prove our identity with multiple forms, which we gave, the female bartender with the black hair and beanie immediately met us with disdain and disrespect. I understand our situation being younger, but after multiple forms of ID just to get them to give our IDs back they refused and got mad at us for pushing back. After calling the police to get our real IDs back, they yelled and kicked us out. I understand not wanting to serve underage, but once again we were respectful and of age trying to resolve the situation. If you're under 50 I would never come here. As someone who was planning on going for dinner, I will never be back. It's frankly disappointing. read more

Nice oasis on a crowded hot road in north Lake Tahoe. Dark and cool inside. If you want food you go to the bbq joint next door and they bring it in the bar. The place is what you would expect of a local bar. Some might consider it a dive bar but I don't. To me a dive bar is a place where you stand a good chance of getting your ass kicked if you're not careful. This isn't that place. At least at this hour it isn't anyway.
