Burger Me is a popular casual counter service restaurant in Truckee. Parking is street metered only but is inexpensive. $1 should give you plenty of time to eat here and a little extra time to walk around. Burger Me has both indoor and outdoor seating. I ordered their hamburger that comes with a 1/3 lb. beef patty for $9 and then added lettuce, tomato and pickle at no extra charge. For another $4.75. I upgraded to a combo with a fountain drink and onion rings. With tax it totaled $15. The food was delivered in less than 10 minutes. At first glance those onion rings looked beautiful with their dark brown color and were large in size. Taste wise, I liked them less. The batter was hard rather than flaky and I think the batter overpowered the onions (3). Not bad but just average. The burger was equally attractive on a brioche bun and dark green leafy lettuce sticking out on the sides. I added a little ketchup and chowed down. This was a very good tasting burger that I would be happy to order s as gain (4). Finally the counter service was warm and friendly. Casual burger place with outdoor seating. I came here twice during my week in Truckee, as it's in a nice location and has nice outdoor seating. The first time I was here I got a chicken sandwich with sweet potato fries, and the second time I got a smash burger with regular fries. The smash burger was very yummy, as were the sweet potato fries. The chicken sandwich was not very good. I do wish they had honey for the sweet potato fries though. The smash burger with two 1/4 lb patties is their most popular and I understand why. It was very flavorful and filling. Comes with cheese and sweet pickles but I opted out of those. Otherwise it's the meat and Bread only which is pretty much how I prefer it. You can add it if you want I think but this was perfect for me. I had a side of sweet potatoes fries and a Diet Pepsi. The rating was low and so we weren't sure if I was going to like it. However, we were totally shocked and in a good way. The cashier was professional and polite. The food was spot on fresh. I had a regular burger with bacon and cheese and my husband had the Cowboy. We shared a large order of fries. Everything was hot and fresh. The lettuce was beautiful on my burger. It was quality toppings. It was quiet when we were there. It had plenty of people but no one was obnoxious or loud. We still aren't sure of the low ratings because we give this a 10/10. read more

Great visit! We stopped by last week when passing through the area. Not a ton of seating available, and they were quite busy at lunchtime. We only saw paid parking, could be a lot but we didn't see one. The restaurant has a cool vibe, good menu, service friendly. We ordered some burgers, fish Sando, Big Dippa, fries & o-rings...as well as a shake to-go. Every bit of the food was enjoyed. My mom could only take down half of the fish. My daughter and I shared a burger and the Dippa, both really good, but we both found the Dippa to be extra tasty. Highly recommend that! The o-rings were a bit batter heavy for my liking, but aside from that the rest of the food was terrific. Updating because we decided to give Burger Me another chance. Honestly, Food variety isn't Truckee's strong point. We've got a lot of places to get a burger, tacos, pizza etc. So, to stand out you need to have SOMETHING a bit different. Burger Me is still just your standard burger place with a few unique burger choices like elk. My husband had tried them all but the beef. Welp, none of those sat well if you get my drift. Recently we tried one more time ... I got the grilled chicken on gf bun, hubs got a regular beef burger. Overall, much better experience. Not out of the park but it was good enough to say "ok, we can add this back to our limited list." I will say they do make decent fries but they're inconsistent. Their floats are a nice change of pace. I'm glad they've fixed some issues with quality and food handling. Hopefully they can get the consistency with the fries. read more

First time to this little burger shop in town. Apparently, it is a popular little gem everyone else already knows about! They were busy but quick to serve food on a weekend afternoon. We stopped in after snowshoeing with an outdoor group. There were so many options to choose from I could not decide! I ended up splitting an ahi burger and a beyond burger with my dad so we could each revel in half of each kind of burger! Both were amazing - dad even bought Beyond Burgers from the store after having it here! Now that is saying something! Parking was plentiful right out front and was inexpensive. I love that this is a local place that has weathered a pandemic and an economic collapse and is still in business. It is a testament to how good their food is. It shows that this was born from a place of love for great food. I love the Southwest Turkey Burger, sometimes I get it with a beef patty instead of Turkey. The bacon, green chiles, and chipotle mayo take it to another level of artisan burger! The sweet potato fries are amazing as well. Crispy on the outside, tender inside, and packed with flavor. Good little burger place at the beginning of cute old town truckee. You must pay for parking in front seven days a week. You go in and order at the counter. There is a self serve drink station. There were some outside tables and inside tables. The food was well prepared. Bison burger was lean and delicious, well seasoned on a fresh bun with fresh ingredients. Ambience is what you'd expect for a burger place. Prices are not cheap but the meats are quality. I like how they have a great variety so you can go with friends who may not like burgers or meat and everyone still gets a delicious meal. I love BurgerMe. I've had the Fish Sando a bunch of times and it never disappoints. The breading is amazing and so is the coleslaw and house made tartar sauce. I always get it with extra tartar sauce. Their onion rings are huge and crispy. It's great with their ranch dressing. Yes, they have good ranch. Their fries are great too. I've also tried the Big Dippa and it was good, but the roast beef is deli meat and I never got it again. The Au Jus that came with it is good too and I loved the horseradish. The Lamb Gyro Burger is also a good choice. I got it with extra Tzatziki Sauce and I love that the Gyro Burger has feta cheese. I've even had the Italian Stallion (which was featured on Triple D) but it's no longer on the menu. Sad, because it was really different than any burger I've had. You order at the cash register and they bring the food out to you. If you need anything, they will bring it to you. Overall, they provide good service. The place is busy and typically, we always eat at the tables outside, where it is not as crowded. Also, the hand scooped ice cream shakes are great too. Burger Me was recommended to us by our neighbor. We found the restaurant towards the end of the downtown area. My husband and I stopped by for lunch around 11:45 on a Thursday. It was a chill restaurant that looked a bit modern compared to the other local establishments. Appreciated the big outdoor patio. The place was considerably busy. Nearly all the tables were occupied, but a family kindly let us share their table with them. Overall customer service was great. The staff was friendly, and the food came out in a timely manner. Kudos to one of the employees who kept tabs on the horseradish for me. They ran out of it, so he promised that he'd give me a side of the horseradish after it was freshly made. He really came through on it, even when I was almost done eating! My husband ordered the Patty Melt and the Big Dippa. I had a half of the patty melt, which made me feel stuffed. It was so rich but also on the saltier side. Their homemade sauerkraut was delicious. I had a couple of bites of the Big Dippa, and I enjoyed it as well. Nicely fried onion strings. Savory au jus. Glad I had the opportunity to try a fresh batch of horseradish, which was amazing! I'm a huge fan of horseradish, but my husband would've also enjoyed it because it wasn't super spicy and overly pungent. Last but not least, the garlic fries were outstanding. Perhaps I'm jaded with my expectations for burger joints these days - but I felt this place brought the quality of higher end places like roam or shake shack without their extortionate prices. Fairly extensive offerings including turkey, chicken, elk and buffalo (which are both very rare to find). Very nice portion sizes for the burgers at the price point listed, gluten free bun offered, burgers tasted amazing. We also order the onion rings, sweet potato fries and garlic fries - all good, especially the onion rings. Nice selection of beer offerings too. Space is fairly large with indoor and patio offerings. The kids ordered from the kids menu, great cheeseburger and meh chicken nuggets (small with too much breading making them dry). The onion rings and fries were crispy, but nothing special. I ordered online and stood there at the counter for several minutes when I was notified my food was ready (it was behind the counter). The young boy even stood at the cash register and did not even greet me or make eye contact while I was literally standing in front of him for minutes. A brunette lady walked up to the counter and ignored me as well, and gave me a half assed apology when I addressed my concern. UNACCEPTABLE. I tipped, and I regret it. You did NOT earn a tip for good service. Unfortunate, because I like the food enough (bison burger and fries), but will think twice about coming back here, and especially not for a gross cafeteria burger.
