To start off, me and my girlfriend have came to eat two times in one week which doesn't happen when we eat out but it really is THAT good . The service is amazing I believe it's the owner that serves his own tables but always so kind and patient when I had questions or doubts on stuff like the spice level which they work really well with . I love the mango lassi so much that's such a good drink i highly recommend as well as their chicken makhni and lamb jalfrezi . The restaurant is also really nice and dim lit like all other restaurants . 10/10 for everything

Authentic for sure! I love spice but even medium was too hot for me lol. If you don't want your eyes watering and nose running, I recommend little spice . Otherwise, all the flavors of our currys were spot on. The garlic naan was delicious & so was the Mango Lassi

Vegetable samosa

I have been coming to Orchid for years and I love the owner! He is so nice, and the service is perfect! I had a to-go order for samosas and I am one of those people that check my food before and after I take a bite. Unfortunately, my biggest fear came to life when I found a bug in my samosa. I had to immediately throw everything away. I care for everyone's health and also the owners business, but this had to told. Please be careful and watch what you eat anywhere always! I hope the owner can see it so he can get down to the bottom of it because I love this place.

Lunch special

Walked in and wasn't sure they were open, but then was greeted by what seemed like the only person working there! He quickly got me sat and took my order, although there is not a buffet currently due to Covid, they have a nice lunch special that's three choices of dish with rice, naan and a dessert for $11 dining in. I got the brown curry, chicken vindaloo and Chana masala, all of which were delicious! I enjoyed having a few options to try, and the Chana masala was actually my favorite! The naan was warm and crispy and the dessert was a delicious mango treat! Overall I'm glad I stopped since I was wanting Indian food, it hit the spot!

We tried this restaurant for the first time and were very pleased with the service and food quality. It's hard to find good Indian restaurants but this one was great! The owner of the place is very pleasant to talk to and he was so generous with everything. He offered some nice selections of food for us and even provided so many things on the house. We were a party of 5, so he suggested 4-5 different dishes for us to try. We went with his recommendations. We got chicken curry, lamb curry, vegetable korma, palak paneer, and paneer tikka masala. I loved the lamb curry and vegetable korma the best but everything was very delicious and flavorful. Lamb was cooked just perfect and the curry was great. He gave us vegetable korma on the house because he wanted us to try it. I loved their Nimbu paani drink as well. It was refreshing. We also tried the chili naan, garlic naan and plain naan. All were so fresh and tasted so good. Then he gave us the mango kulfi for free as well as dessert along with couple of teas. I loved how nice the owner was and we chatted with him for some time too. It's rare to find this kind of excellent personalized service in big cities where I'm coming from. So we really appreciated our dinner there and would definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Mississippi.

This place should be a MUCH BIGGER deal than it is. We asked the owner to surprise us. It was us and our three kids. He brought butter lamb and a vegetable curry with the cheese bread and garlic bread. Y'all. It doesn't look like a lot of food, but it eill FILL YOU UP. AND ITS SO DELICIOUS. We eat out so often, but this is one of the few times we've been truly sorry we couldn't fit more into our bellies! Do yourself a favor: bring your girlfriend, wife, boss, parents, whoever. I don't know if you can tell by the empty plates on our picture, but It's AMAZING.

We had eaten at Orchid when it was in Teagarden Road and I saw where it had moved to Hardy Court Shopping Center. Orchid occupies a former restaurant location and while you know you are heading into an Indian restaurant, you still see the vestiges of the New Orleans bayou theme including corrugated metal through the restaurant, especially over the booths. This just didn't even seem Indian. After playing 20 questions I got a Lagunitas and the wife a sweet tea. We ordered Samosa Chaat for an appetizer. Let me tell you it was extremely good. A vegetable samosa with chick peas, cumin, cilantro. I'll get this as a meal next time. The wife ordered chili lamb noodles. But they were out of noodles and offered to make it with rice instead. She didn't care for it, saying the lamb was too gamy. I thought it was ok, but it wasn't spicy at all even though ordered that way. I ordered the goat vindaloo. We also got an order or garlic cilantro naan. You just have to have some. It was wonderful. We have been back again and again. Come see Mike and get a great meal.

I ordered 2 orders of chicken tikka masalas and I got some strange chicken with loads of onions and half a cup each of masala sauce.

We used to love this place. We always get the same thing when we order...chicken tikka masala. But the last two times the food tasted like the recipe was changed. Now it's made with diced onions, bell pepper, and maybe mushrooms in it. The diced onions were crunchy. We always get one mild and one hot. They used to label the spicy so we could tell which is which. This time we couldn't tell and when we tasted, they both seemed the same spice level...hot! My wife cannot eat food that hot which is why we order MILD. Go back to the old recipe (and cook?). This one is not good.

Smart idea for COVID! Menus up on the wall at each table

Absolutely phenomenal. Authentic, delicious, and fresh. Will definitely return to try some other dishes. We were served by Mike and couldn't have been happier. He was so friendly and warm and helpful with trying to decide on what to order. Portions aren't huge but plenty for a full belly and leftovers. Bullet Naan Bread: 5/5. Perfect balance of chewy, crispy, and fluffy. The cilantro and jalapeño added some nice flavor and heat. The dipping sauces were interesting: one spicy and one sweet. Delicious! Chicken Shahi Korma: 5/5 shredded chicken in a sweet cashew tomato sauce. We were informed the sauce was sweetened with puréed raisins. Yum! Coconut Lamb: 5/5 generous serving of lamb in a yummy tomatoey subtly sweet sauce over tender basmati rice Come give this place a visit! You won't regret it!

Alright so we stopped here after checking on yelp during our visit to Mississippi at 5:30 pm…read morearound. Many stuffs were over and owner claimed that most things get sold out by afternoon so it seems they cook everything in morning only and sell for full day. We ordered samosa , tea and combo meal. Samosa was looking old but tasted good. Tea was water with tea powder. While giving combo, owner offered us 1 extra curry as complementary. I was surprised and happy both. Anyways got food. First bite of food from plate and felt curry was spoiled. Asked my wife to try too and confirmed chola curry was spoiled. Next curry chicken tikka masala - result was same. Sour and foul taste. Okay next curry - khoya paneer, this again spoiled. Last curry of beans and potato was our least favorite and bad luck this curry tasted good. 3/4 curries were spoiled food which was due to long kept stale items. We told owner and he offered another curry, it was daal fry and that was spoiled too. This is the worst ever food experience we had in any Indian restaurant. Few in the past gave old food but atleast not spoiled ones. This surpasses every one. There is a hygienic and food poisoning concerns here and would ask everyone to take care. Shamelss owner still charged for food after seeing that we left everything in plate. Only naan and rice we could eat with that 1 out of 5 curries. And infact he charged $3 more it seems on my card which is still pending transaction. Going to open a dispute case via American Express if more amount is posted in my account.

The chickpeas in one container were cold, and in the other barely warm. The tandoori chicken, I think that's what it was supposed to be, was sort of slimy. The yellow dal was spongy and inedible. We ordered spinach and cheese as side and didn't get it, I guess that's why we had two orders with chicken peas when we only asked for one? The rasmalai was a weird texture, unlike any I've had before. Then there is the appetizer. The picture with the strange chicken tandoori. It's supposed to have samosas, tandoori chicken, veggie pakora, paneer pakora, chicken pakora, and naan. The only one that was even remotely represented was the tandoori chicken. There should have been at least two pieces of naan, since each combo is supposed to die with it. There was one. Also, the rice was not normal Indian rice, it had green beans in it? The entire meal was inedible. How do we know it's safe to eat when it arrived cold?

I would eat there more often, but the rest of my family doesn't want it as often as I do. I can't vouch for it's authenticity first-hand but it is very good. Be brave and order something that sounds weird. You will love it. (GOAT!! They have Curry Goat!!) Everything seems fresh and homemade. Fantastic. I can't stop raving about it. The vibe is a little weird at first. It is inside a Pilot gas station/truck stop with a couple of other food offerings ("food court style" there's a hamburger place and something else). It's a little overwhelming at first because there aren't descriptions of the dishes. If you go to their website you will find good descriptions and photos of everything and you can order online. If you order ahead, then your food will be waiting when you get there and you won't have to hang around the truck stop very long.

Chacha's Dhaba Indian Cuisine is hiding inside that Pilot at 802 Ave G and I am personally offended that more people don't know about it. Bold, authentic, made from scratch, and so ridiculously good that I stood there in the middle of a truck stop questioning every fancy restaurant I have ever paid too much money for. Top 3 meals in the United States. Not top 3 truck stops. Top 3 ANYWHERE. :) If you pass this exit and don't stop, that is a choice you are making against yourself.

This has to be one of the best Indian restaurants in the country. As a person who has tried lots of Indian restaurants, this place stands out above all. The service is impeccable. I wouldn't expect anything less given the quality and the taste of the food coming out of that kitchen. Our servers were very proper, very respectful, very courteous, and you could tell they were very proud of the food they were serving. The space is very well decorated, not a giant restaurant. If you don't already know who they are, you honestly don't expect what you're about to taste, and you're in for a ride. Every plate had something special to it. I didn't think I could fall in love again with lamb chops, but they proved me wrong. Reminded me of the first time I ever bit a GOOD lamb chop. I didn't think I would be impressed by (seemingly) fried chicken bits, but you too won't understand why they're so good when you bite into them. Fried cauliflower, AMAZING. I don't even like cauliflower - the ears are weird. We had..
