Absolutely fantastic!! This has just been added to my rotation of regular places to visit when I am in Gulfport! The restaurant is very spacious and we did not have to wait for a table. Our server was very nice and super helpful answering questions and accommodating us. I ordered the chicken vindaloo and it was a tad spicy but so good! The thought of the mango ice cream will wake you up at night. I have recently began ordering takeout in the evenings. Every single thing I order has been a grand slam. To start off, me and my girlfriend have came to eat two times in one week which doesn't happen when we eat out but it really is THAT good . The service is amazing I believe it's the owner that serves his own tables but always so kind and patient when I had questions or doubts on stuff like the spice level which they work really well with . I love the mango lassi so much that's such a good drink i highly recommend as well as their chicken makhni and lamb jalfrezi . The owner of the place is very pleasant to talk to and he was so generous with everything. He offered some nice selections of food for us and even provided so many things on the house. We were a party of 5, so he suggested 4-5 different dishes for us to try. We went with his recommendations. We got chicken curry, lamb curry, vegetable korma, palak paneer, and paneer tikka masala. I loved the lamb curry and vegetable korma the best but everything was very delicious and flavorful. Lamb was cooked just perfect and the curry was great. He gave us vegetable korma on the house because he wanted us to try it. I loved their Nimbu paani drink as well. It was refreshing. We also tried the chili naan, garlic naan and plain naan. All were so fresh and tasted so good. Then he gave us the mango kulfi for free as well as dessert along with couple of teas. I loved how nice the owner was and we chatted with him for some time too. It's rare to find this kind of excellent personalized service in big cities where I'm coming from. Ordered take out a few nights ago. The chicken tikka I had was so dry and tasteless it may as well have been a chunk of white chalk that was painted red. The naan bread was good, the curry wasn't and had a citrus note to it that we didn't care for. Overall not worth the money spent and we won't go back. In an attempt to contact the owner to advise them of the issues we had we basically received the run around and were asked if this was the first time we tried Indian food as if tasteless and non edible food was supposed to be standard fare. This just didn't even seem Indian. After playing 20 questions I got a Lagunitas and the wife a sweet tea. We ordered Samosa Chaat for an appetizer. Let me tell you it was extremely good. A vegetable samosa with chick peas, cumin, cilantro. I'll get this as a meal next time. The wife ordered chili lamb noodles. But they were out of noodles and offered to make it with rice instead. She didn't care for it, saying the lamb was too gamy. I thought it was ok, but it wasn't spicy at all even though ordered that way. I ordered the goat vindaloo. We also got an order or garlic cilantro naan. You just have to have some. It was wonderful. We have been back again and again. Come see Mike and get a great meal. read more

We used to love this place. We always get the same thing when we order...chicken tikka masala. But the last two times the food tasted like the recipe was changed. Now it's made with diced onions, bell pepper, and maybe mushrooms in it. The diced onions were crunchy. We always get one mild and one hot. They used to label the spicy so we could tell which is which. This time we couldn't tell and when we tasted, they both seemed the same spice level...hot! We had noticed in our travels that only a small percentage of folks in the area chose to wear masks but were admittedly surprised to see that businesses were not participating in taking precautions as our server roamed and served tables maskless. We ordered the Paneer65 to start, two orders of chicken korma and a tikka masala. To put it plainly, the food came out barely warm, the rice was stale and inedible. We tried. We wanted to love it. After a few tearful bites, we resigned our forks in sadness, paid the bill and left. Unfortunately, I doubt we will return. Trying to be fair, but do not understand why people like this place. The food is just straight up not tasty, and it's the only Indian place on the gulf coast I know of which disappoints me. I know I'm kind of spoiled with Indian food because I moved down here a few months ago from a place with a multitude of better Indian restaurants. Anyway, I was trying to supply my craving for Indian food I ordered delivery from this place (so I cannot speak to the service). Nothing too fancy, just garlic naan, butter naan, and chicken tikka masala; practically just the basics (testing the waters before I'd order other things if I liked the place). My main problems lie with the food, and I will sound a little pedantic here, but I just really didn't like anything. First, I could not tell any difference between the two types of naan, which wasn't great. Second, the naan was way to moist and kinda soggy and doughy, and just didn't really taste great or cooked well. Thirdly, the chicken tikka masala was awful. It was way to watery, I could barely tell chicken chunks from veggie chunks as they shredded them all up too small, and it just didn't really taste great. Also their rice consistency and taste made it look like it was sitting in a rice cooker all day. This is the best Indian food the gulf coast has to offer? People down here really don't know a good Indian place then... Sorry if I was harsh, but that's what I though of the food. Won't be trying them again. read more

I've had a lot of Indian food in my life, having spent 7 years living in England, and traveling all over the United States and eating Indian wherever I go. Saying all that, this is now one of my top 5 in the US. The Chicken Tikka Misala was amazing, a hint on the sweet side but delicious and cooked fresh. There's so much I could say about Orchid and the owner Michael! I had never tried Indian food before, but when I met Mike (at their previous location), he broke everything down for me! And their lunch buffet is second to none, delicious, fresh, well-seasoned chicken dishes, vegetable dishes, naan, and other wonderful dishes and treats, including dessert! My absolute favorite is the Chicken Korma! It's also a very peaceful place to enjoy a meal. I love that Mike and his staff take time to talk and get to know you!
