We live in Reisterstown, MD. We have been with Blue Dot for more than 15 years. Four years ago they installed a new heat pump and air handler. Two days ago our heat went off. A technician came out yesterday and diagnosed the problem. He was very diligent, professional and polite. However, the problem was diagnosed as an electrical problem caused by a small amount of water intrusion, inside of our air handling unit, that shorted out one of the breakers which in turn burned out the transformer. This happened because Blue Dot installed a humidified directly above the electrical components and did not provide any protection from water intrusion should their be any type of leak from the humidifier. Once the problem was diagnosed the technician told me I needed a new 240 Volt breaker switch but, Blue Dot does not have any and it must be ordered. We are now into our third day with no heat. Last night the outside temperature went down to 20 degrees. We have no idea when they will have the breaker needed for the repair. I would expect any responsible company that installs and maintains heating systems to have replacement parts on hand. Especially something as common as an electric breaker. We have put our trust in Blue Dot for more than 15 years but, when we need them the most they have failed to perform. read more

Sad to know that long term members are not valued. Was told we needed a new furnace after having replaced the AC. Why weren't we told that both needed to be replaced at the same time? Was put in touch with the sales person who said he would call me back and never did. Even after two calls to him, never have received a call back. They call to complete annual maintenance but when you advise of other things, they don't get back to you. I contacted last week regarding this as well as to schedule maintenance, and to find out when the annual renewal is because I want to cancel. Information was "taken and sent to a manager" but have yet to receive a call back. Annual maintenance was completed the next day. Yet today a call was received advising that I am due for annual maintenance check... what?! Something clearly is not right. read more

I wish I could give a rating of less than one star. Apologies for the novel that follows, but I've had quite an ordeal with Blue Dot of Maryland. Blue Dot installed a new HVAC system in 2017 and there was an issue with the heat. A Blue Dot technician was sent to my house, he examined the system, and stated that the heat temperature must be sent to a least 72 degrees for it to function properly. I had the technician call his boss and repeat what he told me. I escorted the technician out of my house and called Blue Dot to request a dispatch of a different technician. Blue Dot sent a different person in which they adjusted the system and resolved the problem. Recently on a Friday, the HVAC transformer shorted out, rendering the system inoperable. In a panic, I had Blue Dot send out someone to investigate the failure. The transformer was replaced, however the technician stated that HVAC system also needed a new PC board (computer) and blower motor. Per the technician, it would take up to five business days to obtain the blower motor, since it was on back order. I received an email on the following Monday stating a technician would be at my house between 6pm and 9pm. At 8pm I called ARS, the parent company, since the technician had not arrived yet, who stated that the email was a notification that the parts were ordered. Unfortunately, I canceled an event that evening believing that Blue Dot was coming out to fix the issue. Thursday, a week later, I reached out to Blue Dot for the status of the motor. They stated that there wasn't any status, and they did not know when they could obtain the motor. A friend recommended another HVAC company, who ordered the blower motor, and had it on the following Wednesday. I apologized to him that Blue Dot had replaced it the day before. Yet, it only took this gentleman three business days to get the parts. On Monday, six business days later, the Blue Dot parts department called and stated that they have the motor and would dispatch a technician that night or in the morning the next day. Tuesday, I reached out to Blue Dot who stated the blower motor was on a truck and they still did not have it. At 3pm Tuesday, a Blue Dot technician came to my house and replaced the PC board and blower motor, however this did not fix the issue. Next, the relay for the outside compressor was replaced, which did not fix the issue either. Finally, the thermostat was replaced which rendered the system operable. However, the blower fan was running extremely loud/fast, so I called Blue Dot for another technician dispatch. The technician came on a Friday and stated that the fan speed was normal. After a rebuttal from me, he stated that the PC board may need updating. Finally the tech called his boss, and after a brief discussion, the tech stated that someone would be returning tomorrow to investigate further. I was in fear that the new motor would fail since it was running so fast, and I did not want to wait 11 days to get another one. Since the original PC board and motor was left at my house, I set the DIP switches on the new board to reflect the settings of the old one. This resolved the issue of the blower motor running too fast. Saturday the same tech who came out on Friday returned. He asked for the original PC board to compare switch settings to the new board. I told him that this issue had been resolved by me. So, just one thing left to do, I needed to pair the new thermostat with the humidifier. I ask the technician to do this, knowing how to do this myself after a little research. After a half hour of the Blue Dot technician fumbling with the new thermostat, he stated that he was unable to connect the new thermostat with the humidifier. I showed him the door and told him to have a good life. Fortunately, all of the parts were covered under warranty. However, it cost me over $3000.00 in labor charges to replace the transformer, PC board, blower motor, compressor relay, and thermostat. These labor costs are outrageous and Blue Dot took advantage of me under the circumstances. I do not believe the PC board a blower motor were defective, since the issue was not resolved until replacing the thermostat. Avoid this company at all costs. Requested a tankless waterheater estimate. I was told the person doing the estimate would arrive between 0900 and 1 PM. I called several times they said there person would call me 30 minutes prior to arrival. At 5pm I called and they said they would have the dispatch reach out. A manager (he said) called me asked some questions. Said based on my home, bathrooms, a tankless water heater would not be efficient, however, he could stop by in two days and provide me some options. I don't mind the suggestion and information. I do mind having my time wasted. Disconnected customer service resulting in no value of customer time. Operators were great- response by service provider horrible. read more

Avoid this provider at all costs. We had our a/c unit with them just over ten years, and already the capacitor and fan both went at the same time. The capacitor was in stock, but the fan was not. Problem compounded: they diagnosed the problem on a Thursday, but didn't order the part until Friday. We were told (LIED TO) that the part would take 1-2 business days to arrive. It's now been 3 business days and the part STILL hasn't come in. Compounded further: we have had to call THEM constantly for updates. They have NOT been proactively calling us. And each time we call, we get a gatekeeper. EVERY TIME the customer service manager AND parts manager are in meetings. Yeah... right. Oh, wait, this time (before 3pm), the service manager is gone for the day! Convenient! Compounded further: the gatekeeper informed us the part is now going to take 3-5 business days to arrive? What about the 1-2 quoted days? "I'm sorry." Yeah... you really are sorry. Sorry at providing customer service. I mean, come on. It's summer. You sold us this unit. How do you not have a fan in stock? And why would you lie to us in the first place??? Just tell us up front it's going to take 3-5 business days to arrive. We wouldn't be happy with the wait, but we'd appreciate the honesty and the reasonable expectations. Just a miserable experience all around. Find a better service provider than Blue Dot, regardless of the cost. I can't recommend you away from them more strongly or fervently. Worst customer experience ever. read more

And to update - I had someone come out today because my heat went out again, to attempt to service the system one last time before a really expensive investment in a new system. It was working temporarily while he was here, like it was with the Blue Dot technician, but he attempted troubleshooting anyway, unlike the Blue Dot technician. In about 20 minutes of troubleshooting the guy determined the system was in great shape and working perfectly, I just needed a new thermostat. So to recap - Blue Dot sent someone out to service my system. Instead of trying to troubleshoot the problem, they told me that my system was old and booked a sales person to come out the next day. The sales person quoted me double what everyone else did who came out subsequently and tried to bully me into the sale and disrespected me in my own home. Blue Dot tried to get me to spend nearly $18,000 to replace a system that should have only cost $7000 or so to replace, and it ended up being a $200 repair instead. read more

I recently called Blue Dot for a service appointment to clean my home mini split air conditioning unit. I spoke to someone at a 1-800 number in a call center . I asked for the cost to clean and inspect one of my mini split units and was quoted a price. She made the appointment for in the afternoon one day, and I was told they would call me 30 minutes prior to arrival. I took off from work for that day in the afternoon and waited. When the Technicians arrived I asked why they didn't call, and they told me they don't have customer phone numbers. The technicians then proceeded to tell me they were here to clean an outside central unit, not a mini split. I wasted my time and some economic loss due to someone's lack of training in their office. I consider this a great inconvenience and very unprofessional. I now have to get a new quote and a new appointment and take more time off from work to have my unit serviced. Sad! read more

First I want to start of with I was charged $220. 00 for a miss diagnosed my unit was freezing up and the technician said that the filter was dirty so I changed the the filter the unit froze up again they sent the same technician back he said that the part that defrost the coil inside the unit is bad charged me $660.00 this time .When the tech was here he was messing with the thermostat and he put it on a temp hold which I couldn't take it off Blue Dot charged me another $59.00 for a tech to come and take it off the hold it was stuck on 60 degrees so it was very cold in here.Had some batteries on the microwave in the basement because I was charging them to get ready for my yard work . When I went down the basement the batteries was gone I tried to get in touch with with the driver but I couldn't I was going to tell him to give me my batteries back and let it go. It's going to on three weeks now and the problem has not been resolve . I brought several units from blue dot and never had a problem .Now I think you need to watch the things in your home because the small things may disappear. read more

I signed up June 7 for a pro services contract and was told they know steam showers. The tech showed up (seemed nice enough) who may have understood the problem but was told he had to refer it to someone else. In addition, he replaced an Air Scrubber bulb (online goes for $115-150) and was charged $624 in addition to the monthly contract amount. I saw this after the tech left (too trusting) and when I called the company, they refused to call me back. I am so disgusted! If I could do -5 stars I would. A/C stopped working, I called Blue Dot. Receptionist was nice enough and scheduled appointment. Technician was 1 hour later than confirmed. He looked and furnace and A/C for approximately 10 minutes. He told me I needed BOTH units completely replaced. No way. He called a Salesman to come out. He shows up 1.5 hours later, and tries to guilt me into paying almost $9000 for new unit, outside, and new coil in furnace. INSANE. I said I needed to research this. He called his boss, the heavy hitter on speaker to try to strong arm me into paying this outlandish bill. I didn't budge. Called Mastercraft next day, and it was fixed for $250. Blue Dot outfit deplorable. Don't trust them, they suck! read more

Had an air handler replaced by blue dot and have since had 5 or 6 techs come out to address it completely freezing over and the ac going out. Before the new install, this was never an issue. I have had blue dot techs suggest the following: "There's a Freon leak," "there's no leak, everything is fine," "completely replace the condenser coils" (even though they were working fine before the installation), and the final pro that came out advised that "a closed duct was causing the unit to freezer over." read more

I was having issues with my AC system, so I called Blue Dot and scheduled an appointment. First day, they were supposed to come between 8-12AM. I got a call from the company around 9AM saying they were looking for someone to come to my place and should be there soon. A technician didn't arrive until 11:50AM and didn't even knock on my door to let me know he had arrived. I just heard a voice on the side of my house and figured out he had let himself into the side gate on his own. I go out to meet him and he starts complaining to me that dispatch didn't let him know a ladder would be needed to access the outdoor unit, even though I specifically told customer service a ladder would be necessary and confirmed it with dispatch the morning of. This technician said he couldn't do anything without a ladder and second guy to hold it while he worked on the unit...extremely frustrating to have waited all morning for Blue Dot to come and then for it to be wasted due to miscommunication on their end. The next morning, two more techs come and tell me what part is broken but suggest the whole unit should just be replaced because there is no guarantee fixing the one part will be a long-term solution. After almost an hour of them trying to sell me a whole new unit and bargaining with me to "get me the best deal," they are still recommending I pay over $12,000 to get a new unit. Called another company for a second opinion and it turns out Blue Dot completely misdiagnosed the issue. The other company fixed my AC in 30 minutes for a fraction of the price. Blue Dot is a scam and only wants to push selling you new units. read more

Hi Tamika, left voice mail for you yesterday before posting but like the reps everything is a communication breakdown over there. 8/16/2021- called to discuss my HVAC and was given the window of the next day till 12-4pm 8/17/2021 - at 3pm called to find out status of tech arrival and they said soon. Called at 4pm and still running late. Called at 5pm and given the response they were busy. I said reschedule it to Friday since I am home all day and do not need to take another wasted day off from work. 8/20/2021- given another window of 10-2 for this day and tech shows up at 2pm. Gave me the solutions on what was wrong but not the confidence. He put all the PARTS that needed to be ordered on the ORDER FORM (Thermostat, blower, housing) 09/2/2021- called to ask about the status of the parts since I thought this place had everything? I was told they were still waiting on the thermostat part. 09/7/2021- called up to ask a status and could they just come out and install the other things since the tech said it "might" need a new thermostat. The customer service rep did some research on the thermostat...she said they no longer make them, white ones, and that it would take some more time. She asked if I would like a different color, duh, of course. She says the tech can be out on Thursday with a window 10-2...lol! Why would we order something that is not even in stock? 9/9/2021- called the tech at 1230 to make sure all was running smoothly. The rep informs me that the tech is at lunch and I am next...lol! So at 4pm the tech finally arrives and is clueless why he is here but to only drop off the black thermostat. He has none of the other parts, the important needed parts to complete the real job. Left voice mail for QA Tamika to call me. Called the rep to confirm that I am indeed scheduled for FRIDAY now at 10-2pm. She tried to get up to speed but even she thought it was all a hot mess. She "said" she was working on Friday and would leave a note to call me at 9am to confirm they were coming out for sure and that I was first on the list...more lies. 9/10/2021- As expected NO call from her. I then called at 11am to get the message out to the tech prior to them taking another lunch and disappearing. The rep spoke with dispatch and they said yes they are en route...well here we are at 2pm for a first on the list and they are still not here. Bottom line what an aggravating experience. Contacting my credit card company on reimbursement procedures and looking for a HVAC company that can effectively communicate with their customer base. read more

Recently I called blue dot for a service call where my A/C stopped working. Technician came out a couple days later and said that the condenser fan motor needed to be replaced due to being frozen up and it had a bad capacitor. He quoted repairs costing $2636.00 to replace the fan motor and capacitor and said that they had to be special ordered for that unit. He said that he recommended that the unit be replaced and he could have someone come out this evening to talk to us. I questioned his offering to have someone come out that quick since it was around 7 PM presently. He said that he could have it done. I agreed and someone did come out around 8:30 to 8:45 pm to talk to us about a new system. Prior to him coming out I researched the cost of a new capacitor and fan motor and found that the exact capacitor that was in the unit costs $15.06 and the exact fan motor costs around $150.00. When the salesman arrived I explained to him the repair costs quoted were extremely inflated and that the parts that the repair person said I needed cost less than $175.00. He continued and quoted prices for 5 different new units offering no literature just final costs. Later that evening I ordered a new capacitor and when it arrived the next day I replaced it myself and low and behold the system worked fine. There was nothing wrong with the condenser fan motor. Total cost to repair was $15.06. I then had another company come out after I replaced the capacitor to check the system and he said that there was nothing wrong with the fan motor and that I fixed the system with the replacement capacitor. I personally believe that Blue Dot was trying to scam me into paying for a new unit when there was nothing wrong that a $15.06 part wouldn't fix. I find it really odd that the technician would quote such a high cost for the repair and just happen to have a salesperson he called direct from his cell phone and arraigned a meeting within an hour and a half of his visit. If I could give this a 0 rating I would. I feel really betrayed by Blue Dot and will never do business with them again. read more

RUN AWAY! Blue Dot quoted me $2,926 for unnecessary AC repairs for a non-working outside unit including $630 to replace a good breaker ($25 part and 5 minutes labor by my estimate). BEWARE! See other reviews here about efforts to sell entirely new systems over repairing "old" ones. Seems to be a common theme. My 7.5 year old Rheem AC unit was not producing cool air and has apparently developed a coolant leak, so I called Blue Dot. Their technician confirmed the obvious that there is a leak in the system somewhere, most likely - but unconfirmed - the evaporator coil in the inside unit. He said that it would cost $933.00 to do an "isolation test" and an additional labor charge of $1,685.00 to replace the evaporator. He was not very interested in the fact that the entire inside and outside unit was still under Rheemr's 10 year warranty until late 2023, which I confirmed directly with Rheem. However, he was prompt in arranging for a salesman to drop by within the hour, took my service call check and was on his way out the door. Sure enough the salesman arrived right on time and by that point I was not very pleased with the 20 minutes or so that the service tech spent with me and very skeptical of a nearly $1,000.00 fee I'd need to pay just for the leak test. I explained to the salesman that my unit is just over seven years old and that I wasn't about to engage in a sales pitch for a new system on the basis of the 20 minutes their tech was here and his inflated estimates for labor and the test. The salesman actually seemed to agree with my points and I shared with him my displeasure with the rush to pushing me into getting a whole new system in spite of an active warranty still being in effect. On the basis of the very brief service visit and the speed at which the salesman arrived, I'm certain they are not interested in making honest money doing routine repairs but rather making the big bucks getting people like me and you to buy a whole new system. Do some homework and find the local, small business owners that will give an honest assessment of the situation and offer reasonable prices. There is no reason a leak test should have been quoted so high, but clearly it was a tactic to convince me that it's just better to replace everything than spend the "thousands" I'd need to spend in the repair. I'll update this review after the unit is repaired soon. Thankfully, we're not in the heat of summer. Take your time, do your homework and read up on the average costs of things like a leak test. Ask what the parts would actually cost and get it in writing. Check online to see what the actual cost of a part is before agreeing to pay 300 percent markups. The contractor coming tomorrow is only charging $160.00 for the leak test and we'll go from there; but has agreed to handle the parts under the warranty. Transparency matters and where they get you is by hiding the cost of a repair by charging "by the job," not by the hour for labor with parts added on. And thus you have no idea what you're paying for what. read more

Do not use if you have an old home. Blue dot came out to estimate hvac install, either ducted or mini split. Immediatley tried to pressure me to book work before they raise prices in June. The estimator was generally clueless to troubleshooting partial solutions or how to navigate plaster. Did not seem willing to work towards a solution at all. And kept making comments like " hope you got this place for a good price" because it doesn't have forced air already and needs plaster work. A/C wasn't working. the first tech Blue adopt sent was too large to fit through my pull down attic stairs. This was the second time they scheduled this tech. He said they would call to schedule a thinner tech. No call for three days. I called and scheduled the thinner tech. He said we needed a 1,200 dollar part. We prepaid. No communication for a week. I called again. The part hadn't been ordered yet because they need a number of the AC unit. Of course no one from Blue Dot called. Another appt to get the number off the unit. 10 days later, no communication. I call again. The part was in (how was I to know?) I scheduled an appointment. They only have 4 hour windows because, unlike my time, theirs is valuable. He was a no show after 4 hours. I call again. He's running late. Hopefully he's the skinny one. No communication to let me know he's late. Between my wife and I we have 16 hours of waiting around for Blue Dot techs for a single issue that we prepaid for. Blue Dot employees are adept at only one thing, apologizing. It rolls off their tongue like they've said it a hundred times. Hmm. 16 hours of our time. Paying full price for everything. absolutely no communication initiated by Blue Dot throughout. Three weeks so far (it's still not fixed). All for a single issue. read more

I noticed a lot of poor reviews here for Blue Dot Services. That is unfortunate because we couldn't be happier with what they delivered to us. We had a very complicated and quite frankly outdated and very proprietary 24 y/o Carrier Gas HVAC system that needed to be replaced. And while it took a few trips to our home and also waiting for backordered parts, Justin and Rob remained vigilant in keeping us informed about the status of what they were troubleshooting and the status of those backordered parts. They also provided the cheapest estimate (coming in around $7000 cheaper than the highest bid). We would definitely recommend Blue Dot to our friends and obviously here. read more

I filled out the form on Blue Dot website early in the morning on Christmas Eve at 5pm, I received a call back from a tech or rep., he stated that someone will be out to service my furnance from 2pm-6pm. No one showed up, I called Blue Dot and the female rep. stated that someone would call me back and no one did. I thank GOD that I had some heat just not up to what I usually have. So I went an purchase some heaters for my livingroom so my grandkids and my daughters could have a nice Christmas. I will see tomorrow, because it will be Christmas. Our furnace broke on Friday night in the middle of the cold wave. Blue Dot scheduled a service for Monday. We have an elderly person in a frozen house with heart problems preparing for heart surgery next week, but their customer service did not care and refused to schedule the service before Monday. Another trick that people must know about is their $119 estimate fee that you must pay even if you have a full warranty on equipment and labor. On one hand it's kind of a labor but Blue Dot is saying that it's not. read more

Replaced a 20 year old working system so that I would not run into any problems with that old unit. It never gave me any trouble. Blue Dot quote seemed reasonable for a new unit. Installation day, they failed to get it working. Apparently a bad sensor from Rheem. No heat. Next day, repair guy comes and got it partially working but used the wrong part. Heat would run only a short time and then shut off. House would not heat up. Had another service call to diagnose. Setup an AM appointment the next day to fix this, no show by noon, no call. Called, they are sorry, so they set a same day PM appointment. No show, no call. Called and they said someone got busy. Glad I waited around. Next day, get notification that appointment is set for the morning. I waited for a while, no show, no call. When I called they explained it was an automated message announcing that I had an appointment but it was just an automated message related to a parts order. and that seemed obvious I should have known. ??? Another wasted morning waiting for service and wondering why I got a new system and have a cold house. Also wondering who runs this BlueDot show. Finally, someone shows up and gets a sensor replaced and I am up with heat after a disastrous start and several wasted days waiting for service. The guys were nice and I now had heat, so I was going to leave it go at that. Today was another kick in the head. First hot day to run the AC. Well, there is water leaking down through the house all the way to the basement. After a search working up through the house, I finally found the leak in the attic. Surprise, the leak is coming from the new unit whose condensate line is not connected properly. Looks like a poor PVC fitting was made and the pipe was cut a bit short so it tends to want to pull out. Bottom line, The AC installation is screwed up too. Water dripping out of light switches on the way to the basement floor. Do I make this simple fix myself or have these guys waste several more days to get it done. Rheem Unit is ~ 2.5 months old. ****Update 04/08. Contacted by Customer Service who promised to get this sorted out. Blue Dot Came out and fixed the pipe and offered to repair any water damage to the walls or ceiling. Bumping rating up one notch. read more

Blue Dot - New Condensate line seems too short and popped out of joint to create leak on first use of AC. - Heating & Air Conditioning/HVAC Near Me - Forest Hill, Maryland

My outdoor A/C unit stopped working late this past Wednesday evening, I called Blue Dot and they were able to schedule me for the next day between 10 and 2. Our service tech made it to my house before 10, opened our unit and determined that the fan motor had burnt out and that because of this, our compressor was running on too high amps. He also took a quick look in our crawlspace and said our ductwork looked fine, so we shouldn't need anything done there. We paid him the $119 diagnostic fee, and he said that the next tech would be out to actually quote us on the work that needed to be done within a couple of hours. He said I'd also receive an email invoice for that $119; unfortunately I never received that. Our salesman showed up about 2 hours later. He also went and looked at the outside unit as well as the crawlspace; he let us know that based on the earlier tech's notes that we would need not only the fan motor replaced, but the compressor as well. This was different based on what the first tech told us, but our salesman told us he was just going off of the notes the first tech left. He gave us pricing for only replacing the motor and compressor (roughly $6k), and pricing for replacing the whole outdoor system plus coil ($6,500). Obviously, we chose to go with the entirely new system. We had a credit check run and were approved for financing, signed contracts, and were scheduled to have the new system installed the following Monday. Our salesman took a couple photos of the crawlspace setup and our outdoor unit and then left. Up until this point, my experience was great, aside from the minor communication issues I mentioned. Both our initial service tech and our salesman were on time, and very personable and pleasant to work with; that is why I'm willing to give 2 stars. It all went downhill from here. The very next morning, I received a voicemail from our salesman that they were so sorry, but they could no longer do any work on my system because it was deemed "unserviceable." After a bit of phone tag, I was able to get in touch with our salesman. He let us know that their Install Manager had taken a look at the photos, and since the coil wasn't a standard size due to the age of the system, the ductwork would have to be reworked to fit a new coil... and the only way for them to rework the ductwork would require moving my oil furnace. They don't touch oil heating systems at all, so they were not willing to do this. He confirmed that there was not any work they could do to help remedy the issue aside from replacing the fan motor like the initial service tech had mentioned, which would be around $1100. In my opinion, they should have confirmed that the work could be done at all long before I had my credit run and signed contracts; the fact that we went through all that effort and had to miss a day of work for nothing is completely frustrating. If there was ever any question that it may become an issue that my coil was not only a nonstandard size, but attached to an oil heating system, that should have been addressed first thing before ever signing contracts and scheduling work to be done. I ended up finding a local company that services HVAC and oil heating systems to come take a look, and he was able to do so the same day. He was able to diagnose AND fix the problem, plus clean my outside unit in 20 minutes. The problem ended up being the capacitor. And the final cost to fix? $325. I was about to spend 20 times the price to replace my entire unit because one of the main parts went bad, and Blue Dot didn't catch that? I guess it worked out for the best that Blue Dot cancelled my new unit install... but this whole experience could have been avoided. This was my first time working with Blue Dot, and between my experience with them and the excellent service I received from the other company... it's unlikely that I'll choose to work with Blue Dot again. read more

We recently scheduled to have a new AC unit installed at a rental property of ours. Donnie was our Blue Dot sales rep. On the day their service team came to our rental property to install the new unit they disconnected the old unit incorrectly and then decided that the job was too dangerous to proceed and then they left without contacting me at all. They put back the original unit incorrectly by cutting the pipe and causing a large leak of the coolant to seep into our grounds. I have since tried multiple times to speak to someone about the situation and confirm that the contract was broken. We never heard a word from anyone at Blue Dot. I have tried multiple times to contact the sales rep, the service manager, and quality assurance manager. No one will receive my call nor will return my call. This company has provided the absolute worst service I have ever experience. How they are in business is beyond me. How they have the nerve to answer their phone by stating "how can we help you with excellent service" is a complete joke! My next step is to contact the better business bureau and report this complete mess that this incompetent company has created. Unfortunately this review site does not have the ability to give less than one star. Giving Blue Dot one star is far too generous! read more

I am a retired Marine and would like to inform everyone of the very poor service that I have received from Blue Dot. During the first week of April 2024 I had Blue Dot install a new complete heating and air conditioning system. The fist week of the install, my heater was not working and I had to call for a service tech to come check it out. Turns out the installers failed to turn back on the gas line to the unit. The very next week the heating unit shut itself down and would not work at all. Turns out there were some internal parts that had burned out. They said that they had to order new parts for this already new system. They told me that it would be 3-4 days and it would be fixed. It is now May 6, 2024 and I have called them 5 times now and continue to be told that they would have a service manager call me. It's been cold for a few days over the past 2 weeks and my family and I have been without heat. I have been greatly disappointed in Blue Dots quality of work and service after the sale. FIND SOMEONE ELSE!!!!!! Blue Dot is extremely unprofessional and has no regard for customers' time. They provide customers with availability and then completely fail to show or even contact the customer. They ask how they can help make your day "exceptional?" Try showing up. Not only can you not get ahold of the technician but even the phone agents can't provide you with anything useful! Additionally, the supervisors/managers are conveniently unavailable. read more

We've replaced four heat pumps with Blue Dot over the years. The last two experiences have not been as good as first two. Customer service not as responsive. Will probably try a different company next time. I'm still waiting for them to complete this job (though to be fair, we do have heat but they have not fully followed through on the contract). Get everything in writing. P.S. They will not manage the inspection even if the estimator implies otherwise (they used to do this as part of their service but not any longer). Scheduled me three times and canceled each time. I waited for hours each time and then got a call nearly two hours late. This company is unreliable. I will not use their service again. I have called every day about the outrageous price I was charged for a loose wire, $367 for a technician to come to the house for less than 30 minutes. No one has responded, every day I am told someone will call by the afternoon. 7 days not one return call. I should have read the previous reviews on Blue Dot. Word of mouth, poor reviews, comments on Next Door App. will be how I go forward from this very disgruntled customer who you did not bother to respond back to. Called BlueDot to service our AC unit which was 7 years old. Just wanted the basic check up. The technician arrived on time. Put the blue shoe covers on and went to work. She check our inside unit and told me it was a perfect 20/20. No other issues inside. She did find a capacitor that was starting to just bemopgin to leak. She offered to fix it. I declined since changing a capacitor is easy and of course it is cheaper if I buy it. She was courteous, professional and knowledgeable. Only complaint I have is they charged me $69.00 when it was advertised for $59.00. I will use them again in the future. read more

Worst service....bot new system four years ago....recent maintenance visit wound up as four tech visits as system keeps going down. Installed, reinstalled, and uninstalled moisture sensor they sold me....called service manager for days and NO RESPONSE! Also no refund received for uninstalled sensor ($300). Blue Dot Services ruined my Christmas Holiday by promising me heat and NEVER showed up. On Tuesday, December 27, 2022, when the Technician finally showed up he did not have any Fuses to troubleshoot my (2) HVAC Units; and he had to leave me and go to Home Depot for 4 Fuses; however they only had 2 Fuses so he replaced 1 upstairs and 1 downstairs and both units started working and 3 hours later the unit upstairs stopped working so I had to sleep downstairs on my couch. Thursday, December 29, 2022 when the Technician showed up; he says that no one told him to bring Fuses; so he left and went back to the store. I am waiting for him to return. New expensive air conditioning system having problems: 1. A new air conditioning system was installed, and after a few minutes of outputting cool air, it began outputting WARM air! 2. The new thermostat did not turn the system off even when it was set at a temperature selection HIGHER than the temperature of the interior of the house. The technicians explained at the day of installation that they did not have enough refrigerant to make the system work in an optimal fashion, but that someone would come over to input additional refrigerant the next day. Wait and see..... Not having enough refrigerant would certainly constrain the system to cool efficiently, but it should not be outputting WARM air, causing the house to be warmer than the outside temperature in mid-July. read more

Very Disappointed. I set up an appointment for a replacement quote for my A/C unit. The one thing I will say that is positive is that they had same day appointments (not that they were on time). A guy named Dave came to my house, within 5 minutes I discussed with him that I already had 2 other competing quotes for $4600 and for $5500. He immediately told me that he would be no where near that price, more like $10,000. I said then let's make this quick if they weren't going to be competitive with the quote. He then proceeded to tell me that Blue Dot is a BIG corporation and does 14 of these per day and that they charge more for their service. I asked why would I voluntarily pay more money to use Blue Dot? He cut me off in the middle of my question and said, "are you going to let me finish?". I told him no and to get out of my house. Yesterday (Tuesday) I called the home office to discuss this and was told I would receive a return phone call and still have not. Please spend your money elsewhere. It's too much of an investment to just use someone because they are a large company. BTW, BGE home was one of the quotes I received and I believe that they are a larger company. read more
