This is a surprise inside if you judged it just from the outside. From the street it looks rough and one past 35 might decide not for me. There are two distinct groups going there. Before evening it's pretty calm and a good place to get good food and drinks. Haven't been after 6 but have heard it's a younger and more boisterous crowd. Why not? This place has adapted to the day timers and the night timers. Food - here's the surprise- their extensive menu past the routine " bar food." From raw oysters to gator tail to nachos to seafood wraps and salads you have to take home- they pretty much have you covered, even roasted mixed vegetables( just ask them to cook the veggies a little longer.) Good, friendly service , a surprising menu, and good drinks- the only thing on the menu that is yuck( to me) are their house chips. read more

This review is specifically for the gator bites since 1. that's all we ordered, and 2. we ordered it to go. I've only ever had gator bites one other time many moons ago, and it was not a pleasant experience. They were dry, tough, and bland. Not these babies! These golden nuggets were cooked perfectly and seasoned really well. So good it had me wondering if is greater than ? It comes with 2 dipping sauces: a hot and vinegary red sauce called swamp sauce, and a more mild Cajun aioli type sauce (can't for the life of me remember the name of it). Also ordered 1/2 dozen Chicken Wings (medium hot sauce), and hands down the best 6 chicken wings I've eaten in my life! Huge wings, perfectly fried, spicy deliciousness! Had two blackened grouper sandwiches this week in Sebring: Blue Lagoon blackened grouper sandwich scored a 4.0 and the other restaurant's blackened grouper sandwich scored a 3.0. Fresh seafood here worth a visit. Expect old Florida ambiance, which we don't mind. Will go back for a lunch, if in area. Service good, music too loud, solid 3.5 to 4.0 for seafood. read more

Great spot to watch the games and wings! The beer battered onion rings are delicious with a side of their conch fritters dip. They have a full bar and the drinks looked great. The food is reasonably priced. We happened to visit on a wing special so we tried a variety of flavors but honestly they all tasted similar with the exception of Great White which was a little hotter. read more

For sure, this is a sports bar. Sports bar grub, at least a dozen televisions, a bartender/waitress with much skin showing, and a half-dozen or so beers on tap with lots of bottles available. On a Sunday night, with the NFL on the tube, the place was hopping pretty well and it filled up a bit as the game progressed. I had a seat at the bar and that gave me a pretty good view of at least two different TV's with the football game and some other sports stuff going on. When the waitress stopped by (low cut tshirt, shorts, pony tail, ballcap on backwards - I guess that's what she does for the tips) I ordered a beer, some boneless wings and a burger. The beer arrived in a smaller frosty mug. Wings and the burger arrived together, which was a bit annoying. The nuggets were not overly battered and did have some sauce on them, but the "hot" wasn't really all that hot. The small tub of bleu cheese dressing went well with it, the extra dressing poured onto the burger. The burger itself was nothing special. The patty was cooked through, the bun was good and there was definitely a slice of cheese on it. I'm not quite sure why the tomato and the onion slices had to be so thick. Two slices each half that thickness would have been so much better. Overall, a decent bar meal and the game went well too. read more

Well, considering that I am a vegetarian and I'm getting tired of fish, there just wasn't much to choose from. I ended up having a fish sammich. It was actually pretty good except it would have been much better with some mayo and pickles. But, it had no condiments at all. Apparently, the big draw is the skimpy outfits of the waitpersons. I made a trip to Florida in February to escape the brutal Ontario winter and get in some sun and fun. My friends Peggy and Lacey took me to the Blue Lagoon Saloon for a meal and a few drinks. What a great place. Awesome atmosphere, great food and friendly staff. I enjoyed some 'Gator tail nuggets, chicken wings and a few other tasty treats. The fried shimp was incredible. It was a lot more food than I expected for the price. The drinks were cold and priced well and the entire experience was a blast. After dinner the place slowly filled up to become a happening night spot. I will definitely be going there again next year. read more

Great food and service! Stopped in here today with family and the food was delicious! The service was great as well which is hard to find. Literally everything on their menu looked great and it's reasonably priced too! they have a fish for the catch of the day which was grouper and DELICIOUS. This place has a cool vibe to it! However it's confusing that our waitresses continually rotate so it's a different one asking questions every time. I don't know who to tip or to base it off one or all of their attitudes good or bad. The food was horrible, presented decent for a bar but I did not care for my burger, or chips, and garlic bread is just bland. And with there being a constant rotation of waiters I feel like I'd ask for something and it'd take a while to get here. read more

I always thought the Blue Lagoon Saloon was just another sports bar & grill until we tried it out today. Wow! Was I ever off base. It's a wonderful place. It has a welcoming and warm atmosphere, and the food is amazingly delicious! I had the shrimp scampi with garlic bread, and believe me, I have never had better Scampi in all my life. Jumbo shrimp cooked perfectly, mouth-watering garlic/butter sauce and hot, fresh garlic bread. The wait staff is efficient and friendly (we had Diana, and she made our first visit even more memorable). My husband had the burger and home-made potato chips that I swear tasted just like french fries! The burger was a perfectly cooked 1/2 lb. of yummy goodness! The Key Lime pie was just like I make myself. Not the fake green confection that so many restaurants offer unsuspecting tourists. Kudos to the chef! The beer was ice cold, and the place was packed, yet not loud. Glad I finally went, and only wish we'd gone much sooner. I can't wait to try everything on the menu, and I would give it 6 stars if I could. You can believe we'll be back, and often! read more

Only a 3, because, currently, I'm a handicapped person, and they have NO HANDICAPPED PARKING. They used too, and when I mentioned it to the manager, she said that " they don't really care if the people in wheelchairs come in, or not". The food, is really good, the kitchen is disgusting. The wait staff, is all very friendly, they are always asking if you need anything. I would love to give them a better rating, but the last time that I was there, I watched 3 cars, each with 4 people in them, (all were elderly), try to find a place where their passengers could navigate either a walker, or some type of assistance device. They all, except one, decided to leave. And the one car that stayed, dropped of their people, at the door, and went to park away from the parking lot. I thought that Florida law required a certain number of handicapped spots, per the amount of people, that the establishment has available seating for. I'm going to check with the city, county, and state, on that one. read more

The food was okay. While we were not surprised to see no customers besides us wear masks when getting up to go to the restrooms, that was not shocking. What was an unpleasant surprise was that none of the wait staff was wearing a mask. WE DEFINITELY WILL NOT BE BACK AND WILL TELL EVERYONE IN OUR RV PARK TO AVOID BLUE LAGOON. Most restaurants are struggling during these times and want customers. Most are happy to see us and want us to come back. If you want us and more importantly our money, then show us you value us as being important - AND HAVE ALL YOUR WAIT STAFF WEAR A MASK AT ALL TIMES. Simple - no shirt, no shoes = no service. When we ordered the local Tampa Cigar City, we were told "nope, we're out". Ok. How about another local flavor: "nope, we're out." No effort there. No recommendation. Nothing but a smirky blank stare. Ok, may we have a few domestic bottles? Sure. Seeng steamed shrimp on the menu, we asked if they were fresh or frozen. "We're 2 hours from either coast: how could we possibly have fresh shrimp?" Hmmm. This isn't going quite like we would've hoped or expected. Ok. Guess we're gonna head out. Please cancel our beer. Young, uninformed, small town folks with small brains and no clue gives one a lot of ammunition when sitting around thinking about worst-service-ever kind of places. If you are from out of state, don't even bother. They won't be able to read you ID. I've been over 21 for nearly a decade but was denied service because my ID was out of state and showing wear (still valid, used it for my flight in). I've been here before, and I would likely have rated it well if I received the same level of service as I did when I lived in Florida. Unfortunately, the lead bartender defaulted to the uneducated bartender instead of reviewing the ID herself. However, we were shocked today when we went in to catch a football game to see no staff wearing masks and only three other customers walked in with masks. My brother and I stopped in for oysters, which were a bit gritty but "just okay". Apparently, it was obvious that we were vacationing from out of town and that seemed to be a problem for the wait staff.
