Worst nail salon on Avenue U and of all time. They should be shut down. The lady drilled my nails down so far so they are paper thin, cracking, and I had to get myself checked out at a doctor to ensure my nails are ok. I still cannot use my nails after going here- the pain is bad. The lady was yelling at me as she was drilling my nails down. We go to get manicures to feel better and have nice nails, not to get damaged. They are not hygienic. Also, she left acetone on my nails for way too long before drilling them down, causing my skin to burn. Unbelievable. They don't seem trained. Stay away from this place. read more

The lady that fixed my nails wore glasses and she was great! She removed the gel I had and filed my nails so the acrylic wouldn't look so thick. Also, being the klutz that I am.. I messed up a nail. A couple weeks ago my regular goto salon was busy and I needed to get my nails done for vacation and decided to give this salon a shot since it was nearby and they had availability. This will defiantly be me first and last time coming here. The workers here are VERY gossipy (and I mean VERY, I understand their language) and the work that was done on my nails was a BIG disappointment. My nails had grown out now and you can see how unclean the edges are. I honestly feel like I can get a better job done at home by myself and I'm not sure if I'm the only one but I HATE my sides getting filed down aggressively. When it grows out, it looks like all of my corners/nails are chipped. I'm honestly not sure why and how is this salon always so busy. They need to do less gossip and more quality control. Never going back. Made an appointment for a specific person in the morning and when I got in they tried to give me to someone else. With the statement "well anyone can do your nails". No. I specifically made an appointment with her because I only want her doing my nails. So I made a new appointment for later in the day. I arrived a few minutes before my next appointment later in the day, and she had another client. So I set an alarm for 15 minutes after my appointment was scheduled for. The girl said she only had to finish polishing her nails. When I looked up 15min after I was supposed to start, she had only finished one hand and was doing UV gel polish. When I said something they all started getting loud giving me excuses. I made two appointments, and you can't keep one, and you lied about the amount of time you need right to my face. My first visit at Ave U nail salon was a terrible experience ( Friday around 5pm). For starters me and my mother walk in and get no proper greeting nor get asked what we're getting done . ( mani pedi etc) We're looking for a nail polish color , taking our time because every booth, station whatever you wanna call it was busy with customers . Then , this lady taps me and say who's doing nails , like she was rushing to get me to sit down so I did . I sat down and she was rushing and buffing hard on my nails , I told her to relax . She puts the tips on and on my middle finger she had to glue , then unglue because she kept messing up ( she did this about 3x no joke) she messed up and my nail ended up crooked .. like the nail was Bent more to the left side .. I told them and they said they'd fix it but they didn't .. they said "it's your finger" I was so blown out of my mind . I was fed up then she shift me to the youngest girl at the salon to shape my nails (coffin shape , in the picture blow they're squared Like, not coffin at all) and when she finished she began to apply the acrylic on the nails , she did about 2, then they shift me to another person .. to finish acrylic on my nails because that young girl had a client i believe . They shift me 3 times , with three different salon ladies . I was like what the fuck it was Like musical chairs no kidding . Overall this nail salon is garbage and I would definitely not recommend for anyone to come . Don't waste your money . Staff is rude and very dirty read more

I came here because of the reviews and decided to try it. I got here like 9:15 so I knew they had just opened but I didn't think I'd be the only one there, so when I entered all 5 girls eating their breakfast looked at me all mad so I just said I'm here for a filling and one of the girls without even looking at me said "pick a color". In that moment I just wanted to walk out but I had already been waiting since 8 for any nail salon to open so I needed it and decided to stay. I chose my color and I asked her to fix one nail that was crooked from another salon and she did fix them, the color came out beautiful. The only thing is I think the need to work on their attitudes because there were 3 other women that went in and I saw how they talked to the customers and I was sort of suprised. For example, with 1 woman I guess she went in because her manicure was already coming off after 1 day and the worker was arguing that it's the customers fault, asking her what she touched, speaking to the others in chinese all mad. I don't think that was really appropriate, but their work is really nice. It was $17 for a filling. read more
