Big ol' calzone and a well-received plate of chicken tenders with seasoned double-fried fries (you know the kind) for $24 delivered. Not a bad deal at all. The 'zone - the original Spicy Chili Chicken with fresh pineapple - is said fried tenders hunked out, tossed in sweet chili sauce and layered with provolone (?) and a handful of mozz, piled up with pineapple and baked in to the world's biggest Hot Pocket. Blue cheese on the side. Here's the thing: flavorwise, it wasn't my bag. There's no tomato base to bring acid or herbs to the mix, and no ricotta to smooth out the sugar chili sauce. So it was, in essence, oversauced chix tenders and some cheese in a bread pocket. Again, not my bag, but was it well-made? Yeah, it was. Good pizza can be hard to find but great pizza is even harder to find. Tried Blue Moon for the first time last weekend and it was GREAT! We had the Sweet Buffalo Chicken and we did a meatball and roasted pepper combo. Both pizzas were perfecting made and were delicious! The crust was so tasty! What a wonderful establishment! Recently I heard it was under new management and I was intrigued. Well, I showed up after being away in Texas for several months and decided to try the sweet buffalo calzone and Gorgonzola salad (my family ordered a meatball panini, Greek chicken salad wrap and a buffalo panini, and pizza). I called and was given a 20 minute wait time and when I showed up it was ready and piping hot, cooked to perfection. Im not kidding when I say it was probably the best food I've had all year. The sweet buff is truly addicting and the salad had all the right ingredients to be absolutely delicious. My family said the same about the rest of the meal. I was really impressed with how clean and organized the shop was, considering everything going on, hygiene is key! The actual pizza shop was really nice- I love what they've done renovating the counters and walls but still keeping the famous blue moon blue walls with a fresh coat of paint! The phone girl was so sweet and the new owner was there himself, making sure everything was going smoothly due to the current guidelines in place. Honestly the food was amazing, I think I'm going to cry when I have to go back to Texas!!! Safe to say I will be eating here multiple times a week while I'm home!! read more

This used to be our favorite Pizza joint in Norwell but those days are gone. It is either under new management or the owners do not give a dam anymore. If you order delivery you get charged for the service and then the food is cold and if you are very lucky .....you actually get what you ordered. Our last 3 orders have been messed up. Visiting the south shore and stopped by this pizzeria for lunch. I've heard good things about their pizza, but we opted for some panini sandwiches to go. The two we tried, turkey and the vegetarian with eggplant, were subpar to say the least. For nearly $10 a sandwich I would have expected more filling in the sandwiches. Perhaps that was a mixed blessing because the ingredients that were included were over cooked and left the two of us with indigestion. Food is good, and service is quick, but literally EVERY single time I have ordered something from Blue Moon, they get something wrong in the order. Every time, without fail. The people who work there are nice, and I haven't had any issues while ordering face to face (which I almost never do anyway), but every phone order has gotten something wrong. Whether its an order outright missing something (eg no chicken on salad), including the wrong topping (grilled instead of crispy chicken, one cheese instead of another, one soda vs another) something is off. Pizza is delicious but due to the girl answering the phone I will never go there again. First time I ordered delivery she was abrupt and when I tried to explain entrance is in back of house she ignored me. I know this because when the delivery guy showed up he went to the front! One, I don't have a landline and two I just hung up the phone with another Norwell friend and she heard me just fine. After moving to the South Shore a few years ago I have on occasion tried to find a palatable pizza. A lot of the places around here seem to use a Greek style pizza dough that can only be described as crispy and greasy .it almost seems as if the bottom half of the pizza is cooked in a fryer . Thankfully someone recommended Blue Moon to me. Whenever I want to have pizza I will go out of my way and drive extra 30 min. so that I can have a decent tasting pizza The cheese on the pizza actually tastes fresh as if it was shredded in-house. R dont The sauce on the pizza had a nice clean flavor profile. The tomatoes ,garlic and spices blended together quite well without any overpowering flavors . The pizza dough is usually perfect, the crust is slightly chewy with a nice warm bread like center that is never oily or overly greasy. Only once during my many visits did I ever have a problem. The dough under the sauce and toppings was slightly burnt on the bottom. I told the man working behind the counter and within about 10 to 15 min. I had a perfectly cooked pizza once again. read more
