    Sunday Special.

Update on previous review. Every tomato sauce dish tastes like it's made with delicious San Marzano tomatoes. The mussels had sauce with fresh basil. My daughter enjoyed the pizza with cauliflower crust. Service is excellent. The Sunday Special is a bargain. A very high quality place

This place is so cute, currently doing lunch specials and Sunday specials among others. We got the house salad, personal pizza and eggplant panini, both were so good! The pizza was enough to share, light crispy but sturdy crust, really fresh simple sauce, their pizzas are great. The eggplant panini was very large, also great! Large service of fried eggplant, came with a side of sauce, crispy bread, fresh eggplant- would recommend!

We were looking for a different place to have pizza in Rockville center. We ended up at the Blue Moon. The service was great out waitress was LeAnn and she was very nice. We had the Margarita Pizza and it was one of the best we've had yet. The place itself has a really nice atmosphere, very cozy. Stop by if you're in the area.

My fiancé and I had a wonderful dinner at this charming restaurant yesterday. We shared a delicious beets salad and a classic margarita pizza that impressed us with its flavor and presentation. The pizza's thin slices, melted cheese, and fresh toppings made it a standout dish. We'll definitely be back soon! Also Sevice was great!. Ambience took us 1970s.

I'd written a draft for BlueMoon in Rockville Centre NY off of Park Ave. No. and Sunrise Highway and yet again I guess it went into cyberspace. The place from the outside is simply deceiving. From the front neon sign one sees a store front pizzaria. Ah, but entering to the right is a bar. More so, per directions following a narrow hallway opens up to a full size room that fits 60 or 70 people. (See pix) The window to the right has a view of Sunrise Highway. This restaurant does do individual checks even for groups. in this instance it is cash only with busy and astute wait service keeping track of who gets what. I found the chicken franchise soft yet salty with a request for a container of more tomato gravy to add to the spaghetti. They have a nice selection on their menu to choose from including salads , pastas, lasagna and shrimp parm. A bowl of sliced rather hard Italian bread and cubes of butter were served on the table before the meals. Contains were available for leftovers. An active gathering, there was no time for dessert.

We loved the atmosphere, food, great services and vibes at Blue Moon restaurant. My friend and I stopped by for dinner on a summer Friday evening. And we sat outside, dined and enjoyed a very relaxing experience. I'm so glad I had the opportunity to dined at Blue Moon considering I have read and heard great things about them. What we had? Fresh bread; it was a nice suggestion to have bread and butter to munch on before my entree was served considering I didn't order an appetizer. Chicken Parmigiana pasta; I honestly have to say I'd loved this entree very much. The breaded chicken breast covered in tomato sauce and mozzarella, parmesan and provolone cheese was top notch. And the portion was so big and filling. Chocolate and Vanilla Tartufo makes eating ice cream much funner. Wine is always much funner with chicken parmigiana. Overall, I'd recommend dinning at Blue Moon restaurant if you find yourself in Rockville Center, Long Island.

The reason why I'm giving this place 4 stars is solely on the ambiance and service. The hostess at the front was very sweet and friendly as soon as my boyfriend and I walked in. We were seated in a nice spacious booth and the first thing I noticed was how unique the decor was. I absolutely loved the old school vibe with the paintings on the walls and the tile flooring. We decided to go with the large classic pizza and decided to split the Classico Panini which had spinach, prosciutto, fresh mozzarella and garlic mayo on it. In all honesty the pizza was the best part, the crust was nice and crispy but the sauce did taste just like crushed tomatoes over a tomato sauce. The panini was pretty disappointing. The ratio of bread and fillings were off in my opinion. It was more bready than flavorful of what was inside. The bread service with the pizza was just fine. The garlic knots were the absolute best! Our waitress was very nice and accommodating throughout the whole service. I'm not sure though if I'd come back to this location again. I do hope for the best for this location and I can see it having potential, I just think some things need to be updated on the menu.

Yummy food, but def not the best pizza around. Great service beginning to end. We got a large pie, half pepperoni a salad and chicken parm. It was enough for the 4 of us. Def worth a try

Stopped in for dinner the other night, was a Thursday night and we were greeted by a super friendly hostess who asked us if we would like to have a drink at the bar which we agreed. Sat down had some of the specialty cocktails they had on the menu which were awesome! The restaurant itself is like a step back in time to an old school New York City pizzeria, the look and feel is very cozy! Now to the star of the show, the coal fired pizza. I don't know what else I can say besides wow! Hands-down has to be one of the best pies we have ever tried, something about their crust is just so different. It's light, crisp delicious and you don't feel bloated after eating. 10 out of 10 highly recommend!

    Coal fired pizza

Amazing coal fired pizza. Went with the classic & an order of wings. 10/10 highly recommend- watching these guys sling out the pies and the love they have for the food was phenomenal Pro tip - don't skip the stuffed artichoke and baked clams for some top shelf apps! And yes, the stuffed shells are as good as they look! The restaurant itself is a carbon copy inside of the family's restaurant in NYC - it's like a trip back in time! Now for service, we started at the bar and the bartenders were smiley, friendly and pour a great drink. We actually decided to hang there for our entire visit! You shouldn't skip a visit here!

Came here for LI Restaurant Week for dinner with friends. Was lucky to make reservations the morning of on Saturday. Highly recommend making reservations to avoid the wait. Located in busy RVC - street or municipal parking but one must give yourself time and have patience. It took good 10-15 minutes circling to get a spot. Parking meters in effect til 6pm...just read the signs. Staff is friendly and food was good. Given we had reservations, we were able to get a booth instead of waiting for one given we didn't want at the table right by the entrance. A bit chilly and high traffic area. Thank you for giving us the option. They have a full bar and drink menu as well. Option to eat at the bar and watch the games - both NY baseball teams were playing Sat evening. Wow $25 for LI RW...what a deal indeed! I heard from the bartender that the kitchen is crazy busy and backed up during LI RW. We were there for 2 hours since there was a bit of a wait for the food. Regular menu looked good with a variety of options. Since our first time here, great opportunity to try RW - Appetizer: Individual pizza - meatball and ricotta was good.. Individual pizza was 6 slices - one could get full on it...we shared and still took home. Burrata salad was good and the mussels had a little kick but also good. Main dishes - linguini with white clam sauce - wish it had less sand from the clams, would have been more enjoyable. Pork chop was huge and good. Lemon chicken and chicken rollatini were good. Soda/ice tea - refills included. Dessert: Really wanted to try the cheesecake based on the reviews (not heavy but light) but they were out! Will have to come back and get it. Spumoni was good - love it! Vanilla gelato was ok. Overall, everything was good and will come back for more pizza, try other dishes and the cheesecake! Restrooms in the back - one each...

The Best Margherita Pizza Ever!…read more There are pizzas that are good, pizzas that are delicious, and then there is the Margherita pizza from Mangia Bene Italian Oven. In my opinion, this pizza is in a completely different category. From the moment it arrives at the table, you can tell that this is not just another ordinary pizza. It has that beautiful, classic Italian appearance that immediately makes you want to take a bite, and once you do, it is hard to stop. What makes the Margherita pizza so special is its simplicity. Instead of covering the pizza with a mountain of toppings, Mangia Bene lets the basic ingredients shine. The combination of tomato sauce, mozzarella, fresh basil, and perfectly baked crust creates a flavor that is incredibly satisfying without being overwhelming. Every ingredient has a purpose, and together they create something that tastes much more sophisticated than a typical slice of pizza. The crust is one of my favorite parts. A great pizza needs a crust that has the right balance between crispiness and softness, and the Margherita pizza delivers that experience. The outside has that delicious baked texture, while the inside remains enjoyable and flavorful. It gives every bite a satisfying combination of textures instead of feeling like you're simply eating a piece of bread with toppings. Then there is the cheese. The mozzarella brings that creamy, rich flavor that makes Margherita pizza so comforting. When it is combined with the warm tomato sauce, you get that classic pizza taste that never gets old. The tomato adds just the right amount of sweetness and acidity, while the basil gives everything a fresh, fragrant finish. And that is really what makes this pizza stand out: balance. It isn't trying too hard. It doesn't need ten different toppings or an enormous amount of cheese to be delicious. The ingredients complement one another perfectly. You can taste the tomato, the mozzarella, the basil, and the crust individually, but they also come together as one incredible bite. I also love that Margherita pizza feels like a pizza that respects the tradition of Italian cooking. Italian food has always had a way of taking relatively simple ingredients and turning them into something memorable. Mangia Bene's Margherita pizza captures that feeling beautifully. It reminds you that sometimes the simplest foods are the ones that can be the most satisfying. Every bite makes you want another. You get the savory tomato, the creamy mozzarella, the aromatic basil, and that delicious crust all at once. It is the kind of pizza that makes you slow down for a moment and actually appreciate what you're eating. If someone asked me what pizza they should try at Mangia Bene for the first time, the Margherita would be at the top of my list. It is classic, flavorful, satisfying, and incredibly easy to love. Some people may have their favorite pizza somewhere else, but for me, Mangia Bene's Margherita pizza is hard to beat. It has everything I want in a pizza without unnecessary extras. It is simple, fresh, flavorful, comforting, and memorable. Five stars isn't enough. This is the kind of pizza that makes you say, "Wow, this might actually be the best pizza I've ever had." If you love classic Italian pizza, the Margherita at Mangia Bene Italian Oven is absolutely worth trying. One bite and you may understand exactly why I think it is the best pizza ever.

Worst rice balls any of us have ever had, slight soapy taste & the texture was awful. The meatballs didn't taste very fresh. Our chicken parm was okay but the pasta was way undercooked. DODICI SAVED THE DAY!…read more We had an engagement photo shoot scheduled at another restaurant in Rockville Centre this past weekend, but it unfortunately fell through at the last minute. Feeling a bit panicked, we ended up meeting the owner of Dodici Ray, who graciously welcomed us with open arms and immediately let us do our entire photo shoot at his beautiful restaurant. (We can't wait to see the photos!) From the moment we walked in, the entire team, manager Chris, the bartender, and the waitstaff, made us feel so welcome. Our photographer (Danielle Jenkin Photography) was thrilled with the gorgeous decor, particularly the stunning wine wall that made for the perfect romantic backdrop. Throughout the shoot we enjoyed delicious espresso and dirty martinis, followed by a wonderful lunch and celebratory limoncello shots afterward. The food was outstanding! We loved the pappardelle pasta, mussels, octopus, pizza, and my personal favorite, the fried calamari in lemon cherry pepper sauce. We were truly blown away by both the food and the warm, kind service. We are so grateful to Dodici for treating us like family. What started as a stressful situation turned into one of the most wonderful experiences. Dodici is now very special to us, and we will definitely be back soon! Highly recommend!
