a hand holding a cup of fruit smoothie

I had the pollo flautas and the frozen lemonade with fruit in it. I ate here for the first time via door dash. It was late so maybe that's why my food was cold & old and also door dash didn't specify that the fruit in my frozen lemonade drink wouldn't be blended like I assumed it was. I would give it another try here but actually go in the restaurant for better experience.

Wow! Talk about options! We walked into this place for lunch and they have a menu and a half of refreshments, full menu of Mexican snacks, and another full menu of Mexican lunch items. Drink ingredients range from fruits, water, ice, spices, or milk; mangonadas, licuados (milkshakes), raspas (snowcones). I really wanted a small Raspa de Leche, however they did not have that option for the small sizes and I would have had to buy a large one instead, which I didn't really want to, so I opted for a small mangonada. I also wanted the typical Mexican corn in a cup. They had not only yellow corn, but white corn options, with toppings such as Parmesan or Queso fresco, crushed hot Cheetos, chili powder, or Valentina sauce. Everything looked bomb so I opted for the typical corn with parm and Valentina. Everything was sooooo good! A little bit higher priced than your typical refresqueria but they have several more options than they do also. Worth a try!

Love it! I got fruit in it this time. Not sure what the ice stuff is called. It's next to the ice cream in the case. But I love it. I go out of my way to stop by and get some!!!

This was my first experience here! There are a lot of menu items but you can't seem to go wrong with anything. My boyfriend got the mangonada and I got the bosque frutal. The item I picked was my favorite because it had a variety of fruit (kiwi, strawberry, bananas, blueberries, mango), raisins and this dairy liquid that tasted somewhat like yogurt or melted ice cream. The fruit was fresh and the dessert was amazing. The mangonada was my least favorite, however if you are a fan of chimouy you will love it! definitely will come again

This place offers a wide variety of different Hispanic snacks. Beside all the snacks that you're familiar with, there's a whole new list of items that you can only find here. The owner is super creative with the items. They have both indoor and outdoor dine in area. You go to the counter to order, then they'll give you a number. You can then go ahead and have a seat. Someone will eventually bring you your yummy order. The service here is fast so you'll get your order in no time. The prices here are a little higher compare to other snack places. I've been here a couple times and the dishes are not always worth the prices. I love how they covered the walls with pictures of all the items. This gives us a better understanding of what's in the dish.

Consequently, Yelpers should not be surprised the…read moreparking is mostly in paid lots, just like in every major city in the US--Cocos does not deserve to lose a star for this as in some reviews that brought down their average. You may order online, in shop through a tablet, or with a person at the register. We used the register because we did not see the tablet and did not want to order ahead online. The ladies who helped us on our visit were very nice. You get a number and they call it when your made to order food is ready. We did not have to wait long. There was medium to low noisy ambiance. It was deserted when we arrived, but they have relatively loud background music. While we were eating it got pretty crowded. Mostly a lot of young people in the middle of the day on a Monday. The inside is small, seating both inside and outside are limited and close together. One lady was studying with her laptop, but there are no plugs. The breakfast sandwich is customizable. We got it on a croissant and with sausage. The eggs had a unique texture and the sandwich a unique flavor that we could not place, but both were very tasty. We also wanted a crepe, but we split the sandwich and it was sufficient. We also got a small mocha and a decaf, both were ok to good. We would definitely come back again and recommend that you give them a try for a crepe or sandwich. It is sad that a few Yelpers brought down their average to 3.8 stars due to petty and unjustified complaints such as having to pay for parking downtown. Other complaints are not the business' fault such as periodic homelessness--it is a downtown area in the US, other cities have far worse homelessness than Midtown Houston and we saw none on this visit. Additionally, complaints about takeout orders are mostly petty. Takeout is never as good as eating at the restaurant and so customers should adjust their expectations rather than dock the business stars. Nearly every recent Yelp review for this who ate at the restaurant gave 4-5 stars for food quality and customer service. Like most of the restaurants in this area it is a pretentious yuppy style place with specialized food. Although not usually our type of place (we like down to earth hole in the wall places with good food or taco truck type restaurants), Coco's is a solid 4 star restaurant for the type of place they are and they offered a 5 star experience on our visit. Again, recommend you give them a try if you are in the mood for crepes or sandwiches.
