So the cheese curds were the only decent meal my co workers and I had. I ordered the worst meatloaf I've ever had. My other co workers ordered a sandwich, burger and fish and chips. All of us didn't like the food we ordered but the ambience is chill if you want to come and watch sports while having a drink. There's plenty of parking and the prices are decent. Have driven by Blue Ox Central so many times over the last 3 years and my husband and I finally decided to stop in last weekend. We started with Mozzarella Sticks with both blue cheese and a marinara dipping sauces. They were nice and hot and the breading wasn't thick. We'll be ordering those again. I tried the fish sandwich, which was the daily special for that day, and it came with fries. My husband tried the Rueben sandwich on Rye with their fresh chips. Everything was very good! Keep in mind that their portions are big! Barbara was nice enough to tell us when she thought we were ordering too much. She was really nice and even gave us some chocolates with our bill! read more

Food was NOT FRESH as the server kept saying, frozen microwaved vegetables served with cold mashed potatoes & so called home made gravy and the skinniest 8oz piece of so called ribeye for $27!! Not to mention the awful rice pudding more like 2 pieces of French toast with freezer burned vanilla ice cream and whipped cream! The servers are back from retirement here, not to be rude but the ambiance is DEADLY in there! I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS PLACE ONE BIT!! The Blue Ox Central is a restaurant sports bar (Minnesota) with fantastic food. If you can catch it when it's less busy it's very quiet except for some conversations from other patrons at the bar or nearby tables. It's very pleasantly lit so not to blare the lights but you can see to read the menu. There's some televisions running to keep you informed of the sports but not in an obnoxious way. We've been in many times now because of the excellent menu including deep fried fish (walleye too!!), thinly sliced roast beef sandwiches, and steaks. You have to make sure to check out the daily specials as those are always something incredible. Soup choice varies from day to day but leaves you wanting the entire pot of soup it's that good. The service has always been impeccable as we've always had Heidi as our server. She has a great memory for your choice of beverage as we stick to nonalcoholic ones. Try to save some room for dessert as it's all house made from the brownies to the bread pudding. Nothing on the menu has ever disappointed. read more

Was there on Friday 4-3-26 for the Friday fish sandwich special. As always, it was fantastic! It was flavorful cooked perfectly and served promptly. Barbara is such a great server, she always takes great care of us. I am sorry I do not the name of the bar tender that night but, she is awesome and funny, she made sure my club soda was full and had plenty of lemons and limes! The gaming is fun too even if I am losing the bartender kept me smiling! The burgers are amazing too always cooked to order and very tasty!! I used to come to this place 15 years ago I walked in it smells fresh. The customer service is outstanding happy smiles. The food is great and you know what thank you thank you and I won this place is really cool! Josh Lisa are rock stars and they have great food great chips and fish and chips!! The chicken fingers are to die for homemade ranch dressing!!! And the the chicken fingers are real chicken fingers. They cut up the chicken breast and they batter them themselves. The chicken finger at the blue Ox are a Las Vegas Staple, I use to come here over 29 years ago. I forgot how absolutely succulent they are. Made with real pieces of chicken breast and dipped in a light crispy batter to perfection. There's no filler no skinny cookie cutter, assembly line processed chicken stuff here. When you're in the mood for some real chicken fingers, the blue ox is a must try, also the wrench is made in the house absolutely yummy. Fair warning food is addicting. read more

I had moderately low expectations when I came here and I was clearly wrong because the food here is simply outstanding. I ordered the Western Bacon Burger and it was delicious. The party was thick, cooked perfectly, and the BBQ sauce was amazing and hot, yes the BBQ is on the burger and served hot. The fries were cooked well but nothing special, just your basic fries. The Ranch dressing was out of this world. My wife and I both thought it tasted a little like "Cool Ranch Doritos" and it was delicious. Service was on point and very good. If you like bar food - YES!! I met my dad here for a sensitive conversation (no alcohol). The atmosphere was so calm and receptive to why we were there. Our waitress was FANTASTIC! She was extremely attentive and sensitive to our conversation. Let's be real, a TON of important conversations take place at a table... in a restaurant! The music was a very decent volume, making conversation totally possible. My dad is a blue-cheese dressing snob for sure! LOL His standard is very high :) he swears by their blue cheese. I had it as well, and YESSSSS He said the chicken tenders were better than Canes - I had some disbelief. But I can say, honestly, WOW! And the house chips - HOLY! Great food! Best chicken fingers EVER. Our server, Jaime, was wonderful, very attentive without hovering. Meatloaf was delicious! Cheese Curds, not quite as good as in the Midwest, but fairly close. Bread Pudding was amazing. Just a few cons; very, very smokey inside. No separation from bar and restaurant. Also tables/chair need updating. Few tables, mainly high tops or narrow booths. If you're a disabled person - get take out! I was uncomfortable, so had to take off a star. Remodeling is a definite must. Comfort food is best enjoyed in a comfortable setting: this was not. Only because of the seating. Food and service is outstanding, if they ever remodel, we'd be there a lot more often. read more

And the burger special tonight was a jalapeño burger no joke one of the best burgers I've tasted i a long time. I got kicked out of this place for having my phone notification on! After talking to the owner she said the bartender was offended because it was so loud. My phone notification is the Mario bros coin. I told her that I was spending my money on the machines and she said she didn't care. She said My phone was loud and people don't appreciate that.
