    Karaoke night!
    Kimbale L.

Cliff Notes Price Range: $ Parking: Plenty Perk: Singing, or at least trying Non-Perk: Smoke Ambiance: A smoky pub feel Noise: A little loud, especially when someone was trying to hit some of those unattainable high notes Temperature: Comfortable Recommend: 90%, it was fun but my eyes were burning from the smoke Dissertation Oh boy, where do I even begin with this karaoke night? Let's just say it was like watching a train wreck in slow motion, but with more off-key singing and less actual wreckage. First of all, the venue looked a little shady (but ended up being a blast) - dimly lit, plenty of liquid courage available at the bar, and a "stage" that seemed to beckon to me. Little did I know, they allowed smoking, which sucked but we made it work. We all had an absolute blast. Drinks were very reasonably priced; bar staff were super friendly as well as everyone in the audience. We cheered each other on, laughed at our own ridiculousness, and even made some new friends in the process. It turns out that karaoke isn't about sounding like a professional singer; it's about letting loose, having fun, and not taking yourself too seriously. So, in the end, even though our eardrums may never fully recover, I can't help but look back on that karaoke night with a smile. It was a hilarious disaster of epic proportions, and I wouldn't trade the experience for anything. Can't wait to go again!

What a find. I just happen to be passing by at the time I decided to get a bite to eat. Awesome beers Great food Great service Black lab stout with a fish sandwich and garlic fries, all was really good.

Is it a drink or a dessert? Either way you're going to love it. Show Steve this pic and he'll know what to make.

This is a great neighborhood bar with incredible food. Martin, the chef, can make a simple order of fries or chips and salsa taste like something you'd get on the strip. Steve, the bartender, has a wicked sense of humor and a great rapport with the customers. I asked him to make me something "sweet and ice creamy" and he knocked it out of the park. I forgot to get the name of this drink, but show him the picture and you'll be treated to one of the most satisfying drink that thinks it's a dessert!

I was meeting a friend at Geri's Old Philadelphia (next door) and had a 1/2 hour to kill since I got there early....so, I wandered in this joint to have a couple of Beers while I burned some time. The place is really, really dark. It took my eyes a few minutes to adjust to the darkness. After I got my bearings, I saddled up to the bar and asked the bartender what they had on tap. He said they had no domestics on tap and mumbled off a short list....all I remember hearing was Alaskan Ale, so I said let's go for that. Wait, isn't that domestic? Ha, ok.... He brought me a pint and I sat back and watched Sports Center while a handful of guys played Video Poker at the bar. They serve food here as I saw a patron get a Burger & Fries.....the weird thing is that they allow smoking at the Bar...hmmm, you're not suppose to be able to eat and smoke in the same place. They must not care about getting fined. Whatever....the place smells like a smoker's den, so I guess it attracts smokers. I don't think the regulars care. The bartender was friendly but quiet....not much of a talker. I had my 2 Beers and left to meet my buddy for lunch @ Geri's. Will I return? Probably not...this was a one-hitter quitter, not really my style of bar.

Just wandering around while friends were still asleep, exploring a bit, and it ended up being one of the best random stops I've made. Best dollar I've probably spent in Vegas was on that hot dog. No joke. Simple, quick, and it hit exactly the way it needed to. Sometimes that's all you want. This place isn't fancy at all, and that's exactly why it works. It's a break from the Strip. No pressure, no over the top pricing, just a real, old school Vegas feel. You walk in and it's got character. You can tell it's been around and has history behind it. It's one of those places that reminds you Vegas wasn't always about high end everything. There's still spots like this that keep it real. Ever since I found it, I've made it a point to stop by when I'm in town. It just became part of the routine. Great way to kick off the day, or honestly anytime. Love this place.

First visit to Red Dwarf and it definitely won't be my last…read more I've been to their sister spot, Gray Witch, plenty of times and have always loved it, so I was excited to finally check out Red Dwarf. While both locations serve incredible Detroit-style pizza, they each have their own personality. Gray Witch has this cool, witchy, slightly punk-rock vibe, while Red Dwarf leans into a quirky, eclectic tiki-bar atmosphere that's unlike anywhere else in Vegas. The space is surprisingly roomy inside, with plenty of character and a fun atmosphere. The service was friendly, fast, and welcoming from start to finish. One thing I always notice is cleanliness, and while the bathroom is small, it was spotless--which honestly goes a long way for me. They also have a great beer selection, a full bar, and a refreshingly straightforward menu. I appreciate when restaurants focus on doing a handful of things really well instead of trying to do everything. We ordered the White Pie and the Meatsa Meatsa, and I was genuinely shocked when they arrived. Coming from Gray Witch, where I've only had pizza that comes with two slices for roughly $15, I wasn't expecting full Detroit-style pans with six slices each. At around $19 for an entire pizza, the value is fantastic. The standout was absolutely the Meatsa Meatsa. It was phenomenal--loaded with flavor without feeling heavy. The White Pie was also very good, just a little lighter and more subtle. Honestly, it may have suffered from being compared directly to how incredible the Meatsa Meatsa was. I kept feeling like it was missing one little thing, but I'd happily order it again. One thing I love about their Detroit-style pizza is how light, fluffy, and airy it is. In photos, these pizzas look dense and heavy, but they're surprisingly easy to eat. The texture is spot on. I also love that you can build your own pizza, and after looking around, the wings caught my eye as well. I didn't try them this visit, but they looked fantastic and are definitely on the list for next time. I'm also already planning a return trip to try the pineapple pie. Nothing but great things to say about Red Dwarf. Great pizza, great service, great value, and a unique atmosphere that makes the experience memorable. Vegas has a lot of pizza options, but both Red Dwarf and Gray Witch have managed to create something special. They share the same foundation of outstanding Detroit-style pizza, but each has its own distinct identity. Red Dwarf delivers a fun, eclectic tiki-bar experience with incredible pizza, while Gray Witch brings a quirky, witchy, punk-rock energy all its own. They're different, but they complement each other perfectly. Can't wait to come back and keep working my way through both the pizza menu and the drink list.

It's the world's only 24 hour Tiki Bar, opening its doors in December of 2008, nearly 18 full years ago. Hints of surfing culture, rockabilly and retro. Perfect signature original or classic tiki drinks via their menu as well as full bar, soft drinks and beer. The Makalele Knockout is probably one of my personal favs with rum(s), lime, hibiscus and a incredible blend of flavors. However the Tiki Bandit, Frankiestein, Dr No, ScruV and numerous others might speak to you. I've been to Frankie's a few times about 10 years ago, so it was nice to stop in with a group of buds and share some convo as well as meet up with my oldest best friend and her wife, who ironically is who I came to Frankie's with those first times a decade ago. All tiki drinks are currently $15 and well worth it. You're able to drink, gamble (at the bar), smoke, converse, sway (good music) but limited space and enjoy the night or day away. Seating goes quick at night, especially on weekends, but arriving earlier (before 8pm) can help. Sometimes tables, seats and areas open up faster if you're patient. All the staff, including the bartenders and door guy are thoughtful and personable. We eventually got part of the area that's slightly enclosed with a great view of the entire bar especially being a group of 6 to 8 at once point. High recommend.
